Recently I've put in a request for a termite inspection and I've gotten several responses but for some reason Termite Biz was not one of them that showed up in my project tab or inbox. I guess Yelp randomly selects a company for us. After speaking with a few of them it's shocking the type of of responses you'd come across. One of them is an attic service company. I've replied that I was looking for a termite inspection and they replied with, "We can help with that as well". That rang a bell so I asked if they were licensed by the state to do so and after several back and forth, I guess finally the word, "state license" made them rethink their response which now to my understanding that they do not offer termite services after all. 2nd most interesting response from a termite company was, "Combined with a warranty that covers more than any other company in your service area". The simple question from me to this response was, "can you explain in detail what you cover more than any other company?". That pretty much stopped them from their tracks and they stuttered for a day and a half and couldn't give me a straight answer. If you advertise that you are the gold standard in the industry, you must deliver. Did more searches for other termite companies and came across Termite Biz, a little gem. The delivery was almost instant. Called on a Sunday and it went to their after hours voicemail but a few minutes later Marvin called me back. He was so friendly we immediately clicked and for every question I had he had an answer and that just tells you one thing, he's well experienced in this industry. I'm from out of state and where I came from we didn't have termites and for someone who doesn't have any clue about these wood eating bugs need guidance from a knowledgeable professional who is honest and delivers. ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! There's a reason they are a Five Star company. Read on... I called Termite Biz after finding frass below a kickout hole in the family room ceiling. Nick G. came out and did a VERY thorough inspection in, around, above and below the house. He even found where the termites entered the ceiling joist through the rafter tail outside under the eve, as well as an additional area under the sheathing that needed treatment. Neither of these areas was spotted by the first company that did an inspection. I scheduled a spot treatment the following week and both Nick G. and Jerry came out to do the work. They injected the ceiling joist through the kickout hole, and the rafter tail and sheathing from the outside. The service also included spraying a preventative on the exposed wood in the attic and crawl space as well as around some of the foundation. Pros: INSPECTION. Very detailed inspection including every rafter tail around the entire house PRICE. They were HALF the price of the other company for tenting (which we didn't need) and the same price for the spot treatment. But that same price included the preventative treatment in the attic, crawl space and foundation which the other company didn't. KNOWLEDGE. Nick G. took the time to explain how the termites operate, how the chemicals work, pros and cons of treatment options and answer all of my in the weeds questions. ON TIME. CLEAN. NO UPSELL. Just honest easy dialogue about what service is truly needed. WARRANTEE. EMPLOYEES. These guys were GREAT. Super easy to work with, down to earth, know their business inside and out, and are a great reflection of the company. I sought a termite inspection with my pest control company. After numerous attempts to get them to come out and do an inspection, an inspector showed up at my door without an appointment. He completed his inspection and presented an estimate sighting both dry rot termites and subterranean termites (without doing a crawl space inspection) and stated the house would require tenting and fumigation. While at a rental of mine, I found TermiteBiz performing work at the house next door. Mike spent some time answering some general questions which impressed me. I called for an inspection and Mike performed it within one day. After a complete and total house and fence inspection he proposed localized spot treatment. The bid was received within a hour of him completing the inspection and answering questions. His bid was less than one half the price I was quoted with my pest control company and the warranty and protection plans were more inclusive and at a lesser price. I have now sworn off of doing business with major well-known businesses and will seek the smaller family owned business striving to grow their business in competition with the national businesses. I was referred to Marvin through an acquaintance and hired him to do an inspection (he does both home and termite!) on a home I was considering buying. Unfortunately, there was some miscommunication (my fault) about the time and the home owners weren't at home when Marvin showed up (an hour drive away from Gilroy on a Sunday nonetheless). Instead of being upset that I had wasted his time, he offered to review some old reports and spent a good amount of time talking me through them on the phone, all for a guy he had never even met yet! I was a first time homebuyer and my inspection contingency period was about to expire and my back was against the wall. He went above and beyond and rearranged his schedule and was able to squeeze an inspection for me before my contingency period expired. He was very professional and extremely detail-oriented in his inspection and pointed out items that needed to be addressed right away and items that even a novice like me could do myself in order to save money. What I especially liked was that he took the time to explain things to me in terms I could understand, instead of talking over my head as other inspectors I've come across have. We heard this company over on KGO radio yesterday and gave them a call because we did not want to tent our house. The inspector came to our house this morning at 8:00 AM right on the dot. I thought that was pretty impressive! Most companies will give you a window and show up towards the end. The inspector was very thorough with our 100 year old home. We didn't have this house inspected in over 35 years because we just hated that tent idea. The inspector found ground termites in our garage and told us that we have to move everything away from the walls. The inspector offered to help us move things around which I thought was very professional. So far, the inspection went well! We are happy with the report he gave us right after his complete inspection of our home. We didn't have much termites which is a good thing after all these years we lived here. We will start them off with 5 Stars and will update at a later time after the termite treatment we have scheduled for next week. Great Service! read more

I was searching for a termite extermination company and came across this company here on Yelp. I called for them to come out to have my home inspected for nasty termites. The termite inspector, Marvin who came to inspect my home was very nice. What caught my attention was that he took his time and was really thorough with my home, I really appreciated that. Other orange oil companies that inspected my home took no more than half an hour, very disappointing. I had termites in my room on the window sill but wasn't sure exactly if it was actually termites. Marvin identified it and sure enough it was drywood termites. Those darn buggers! He treated the termites with the orange oil and now they're gone and my home smells like oranges. I highly recommend this company for your termite control. He's also a general home inspector. He gave me plenty of useful tips during his inspection which was a plus. My parents live in the San Jose area and had a terrible termite problem. I heard from a good friend that Marvin at Homebase Inspection Services does a professional job and does not leave a mess. My parents are huge on contractors that leave a mess behind, also what chemicals and the process that is used to rid these pests. My mom said it was extremely important that it be pet and human safe. Marvin was more than generous to go over the details and what process he uses and how it is safe for humans as well as my parents dog Otis. After all is said and done him and his staff were very fast and clean and did not leave anything behind. 3 months later the problem is fixed and we are no longer running into termite poop all over the place. My grandparents just purchased a house in Palo Alto and we had the best experience with this company. We've learned a lot from Marvin. He is well knowledgeable and explained all of his findings to where we can easily understand. I've definitely learned a lot in those three hours that he spent inspecting our home. He did find termites which was a bummer for my grandparents because they're old and they don't like to use poisonous chemicals. Marvin explained to us that we didn't have to tent the home and that we can use the orange oil instead. My grandparents called Marvin a week after close of escrow and had the orange oil treatment done. They're really happy with this company and the price was reasonably affordable, much cheaper than tenting. Marvin was great to work with and will definitely refer him to my buddies! read more

I highly recommend Lupe's work and the Termite Biz! Lupe was thorough and excellent through out. She came out for inspection, patiently explained her findings and options to address those. Her report described all the relevant details and proper cost estimates. She came out for treatment where she and Mike very professionally went through the actual work without any surprises. I mention without surprises since few months had passed between inspection and treatment due to COVID and I was a little concerned. Had this company come out for a full inspection free of charge. They didn't find anything here and just gave me some recommendations on how to maintain the house to prevent future infestation of termites and what to look for when doing an annual home maintenance inspection. They weren't pushy at all or try to sell me on anything and after the inspection the inspector went on his way. I had a bad experience in the past with a different termite company and didn't trust for them to do another inspection. If I ever need termite services, I will definitely give these guys a call.
