Popped in here last weekend, for a quick sit-down lunch before playing golf at a nearby course. Service was prompt and attentive. The meal started out with a complimentary basket of chips and salsa...the chips were warm and their salsa had a slight heat / kick with a thinner consistency. They were a nice combo. I ordered the chilaquiles lunch special was quite tasty with plenty of plump chicken, chips, sauce and cheese. The platter was served piping hot, so the dish stayed warm for quite some time. The meal was served with seasoned rice, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce and diced tomatoes. It was a ton of food for a very reasonable price. Service tonight was sub par, got initial drink before meal and waiter never checked in us after meal was brought to table. The meal was missing verde sauce and the beans for both were very watered down. The chimichanga was basically the equivalent of a Taquita very little stuffing. Very disappointed as used to be a great place. Waited 10 minutes to get a to go box to box out food. I hope this is just a one off and hope the waiter learns to check in his tables, I asked if he went next door to get the to go box as we timed it 15 minutes. Very disappointing. I told him I'd liked to of had another soda, he said all would you like one to go, I said no I'd liked to of had one with my meal but you never checked in us. This is a casual restaurant with good food. Even with the large group I came with, the service was prompt. I ordered the Tequilaville Special, which consisted of grilled steak, chicken, shrimp, and chorizo covered with cheese. Served with a cheese quesadilla, beans, rice, lettuce, guacamole sour cream, pico de gallo, and flour tortilla. All this was at a decent price and was served on a hot sizzling skillet. I was definitely impressed with the tenderness and flavor of the meat. All the other parts of the dish had good flavor as well. Everything was served in a large portion, so there is no doubt you will get full from the restaurant specials. Also, the place is known for their margaritas. The small is only a few dollars less than the medium; so I highly recommend ordering a medium if you are drinking by yourself and want to make your money's worth. But, the monster margarita is a good choice if you want to share with a friend or family member; definitely not something one person can drink on their own. Overall, Tequilaville is a great place to order Mexican food in the Newark area. It is full of delicious food, tasty drinks, and good service! read more

They had 2 servers for 2 very large parties (12+), and at least 15 other tables being served. Ordered the Mar y Tierra. Surf & Turf pretty much, steak, chicken, scallops, & shrimp with vegetables. The scallops were harder then the steak, and I had 3 pieces of shrimp that were smaller then the scallops. Steak was over-cooked, chicken was over-cooked, vegetables we ok. This was a lunch/dinner with friends after a small road trip. I'm glad I got to try it, but I'm sorry to say, I will never make a point to go back. read more

Just tried this place this week and we really enjoyed it. I had steak fajitas, which were delicious. Steak was high quality and lean. The veggies were cooked well. It was served with a large helping of delicious houses dr guacamole. My mother is very picky about her beef, but she said that her shredded beef enchilada was awesome. Queso dip was awesome. Service was friendly. :) Best of all; we had 4 adult meals, 1 kids meal, Queso dip, and a pitcher of margaritas for about $60! Can't beat that. We will be returning for sure. I've only been in Ohio for a few months, so it's hard for me to come up with a yelp rating that takes into consideration the fact that no food in Ohio is actually good. So I might give this Mexican restaurant three stars even though we'll probably be back again and again. I ordered a margarita with fancy liquor in it, a warm queso dip for appetizer, the chicken tostada, the beef tostada, the Chile Relleno (which they fondly call the Chile poblano) one with cheese and one with chicken. The margarita was not that good, I would recommend going with a flavored blended margarita in the future... And I never blend my margaritas. Avoid the queso dip, it's runny. I made a slow-motion video of it. The tostadas were a joke, the shell wasn't made properly so it didn't withstand even the moisture from the lettuce. And the letter should not have a lot of moisture in it you should dry out your lettuce, and the chicken and beef they put on top of that we're completely 100% not season I am used to having tostadas in Mexico and in California, the meat always has a brilliant flavor and texture and consistency and sauce none of that present here just plain chicken. They put a six slice of tomato on the top which I'm sorry was almost annoying can you chop up your tomatoes please? At least hide the fact that they're not right. Don't judge a book by its cover. The outside looks very sketchy but if you are craving some simple sloppy Mexican food--this is the place for you! I had the vegetarian quesadilla. The veggies were the perfect amount of crispy and soft. The beans were maybe the most disappointing part of the dish--could have used some more flavor.
