I love this hidden find. It is one of the best Mexican restaurants in this area. The service is always friendly and fast. They are extremely kind to our two kids, and fast with bringing out their food. The chips are always hot and the salsa is fresh. They are always on top of bringing more chips and salsa if the basket is getting low. My go to order is aros con pollo. The dish never disappoints!! My litmus test for a place that bills itself as "authentic Mexican food" is...carnitas. IMO, if a place can't "do" carnitas well, it's a fundamental fail. Puerto Vallarta does them well. It's a large menu, and I found only one entree featuring my favorite Mexican meat dish, but when the server (who was outstanding) said "they're good here" I had to go with it. Glad I did. Photo posted... PV is a clearly popular place, with a wide range of customers, all of whom looked like they were comfortable and happy with their experiences there. We found this restaurant on DoorDash during the pandemic and we weren't eating in restaurants. We loved it, recently we went to the restaurant and OMG it was even better in person! The staff was so kind and nice! We ordered a kids meals for our daughter and asked that it comes out as soon as it's ready. It came out fast and she loved it. I have never seen my daughter eat so much! There was also an appetizer that sounded really good and we asked them if they could make it vegetarian and they did and I'm so glad because it was the best queso I've had! It had mushrooms in it and was so good! I am glad we found this place and we plan to frequent it often! read more

This is my go to mexican restaurant. One its close to home, plus food is pretty good. I'm not a fan of the chicken nachos, only other thing is the cheese queso is always cold and we have to get them to heat it up. It definitely is runny but the flavor is good, wish they could thicken it up. Other than that the food is definitely worth going back and the service is usually pretty good. read more

Found myself in Pataskala some random Tuesday evening, so relied on my fellow yelpers to steer this fattie to a solid option to stuff my belly.. voila Puerto Vallarta! Came in and damn this place was jumping! Packed to the gills, which clearly is a good sign especially for a Tuesday night, and since I was alone just squeezed in at the bar. Was promptly served chips & salsa, then the bartender came over with a menu - I asked him if it was always this busy? Not sure if he didn't understand me or was too busy to engage in small talk, but half-smiled with a partial nod, regardless I took it as my cue to quickly order and not hold him up any longer. Got the enchiladas and a beer - I believe there's a drink special on Tuesdays (maybe why it was so packed..?) Even with how busy it was, service was attentive. Food was really good. Prices were reasonable. Overall experience - solid. Hope I don't find myself in Pataskala anytime soon looking for a place to eat, but if I do.. Puerto Vallarta is a solid option for a hungry fatboy! read more

Came across this place by accident when we were trying to actually find a different restaurant. I'm pregnant and I was starving so we ended the search for the other place and stopped here. The portions are large and the price is great for what you get. My burrito filled the entire plate and was stuffed with peppers, onions, lettuce, rice, chicken, and more smothered in cheese sauce all for $12! I couldn't even eat a third of it because it was packed so full. We decibel decided this place was worth coming back too and the staff was super nice which was an added bonus. read more

We were well east of Columbus and Sweetie wanted Mexican. This popped up with good reviews, and we tracked it down. It's in a very odd location, not near any other restaurants, in a very quiet strip mall in a residential area. Parking and access are also odd; you will have to drive around the buildings a bit. Service was decent; a bit slow. Prices are okay. The menu is huge, with plenty of typical Tex-Mex dishes. Sweetie got a quesadilla and liked it. I had the Jalisco fajitas: steak, chicken, shrimp, and chorizo. Very good fajita ingredients and tortillas. Also good rice and the other side items: guac, beans, etc. The chips and salsa were even pretty good. A little heat and plenty of chunks of tomato in the apparently homemade salsa. It's not on our way to, well, anywhere, but I would stop back if I was nearby. read more
