The second star is for our server because he was so nice and friendly. I'm not certain how to describe the food other than I'm pretty sure it has to be comparable to what a dog tastes when he cleans himself. I really don't understand how this place is in business. The ground beef had an off taste and I'm sure the beans were dumped directly from the can to the plate. My boyfriend's meal was no better. His enchiladas lacked any flavor at all. Pork is so good here, a lot of places say they shred their pork..they do it right here. Chicken is good also. Staff is friendly, if you worry about heat levels just ask, they will let you test the sauces. read more

Came here yesterday for lunch. We come here a lot! Menu: They have a a very amazing menu with so many amazing choices Our order: sizzling fajita plate with beans and rice, and a Troy Poyo with 2 sweet teas. Food: It tasted amazing as always which is why we eat here so often. Everything went so well together the flavors blended beautifully and it was seasoned to absolute perfection. Drinks: They have a very nice drink menu this visit we didn't partake cause we had other plans but I highly recommend their sangria. Service: The waiters are so amazing and polite always phenomenal service when we come. They treat you like family. Ambiance: It could be a casual, dressy, and family friendly it's an amazing place to eat and the music is amazing. We ordered takeout to bring to Rockmill Brewery. This was an ok choice given the drive from Hocking Hills. The staff processed our order efficiently over the phone which was great as we were a bit rushed to get to the brewery. The food though was a bit of a disappointment. It could have been the dish I got (the chicken tacos) but there really wasn't much flavor in it (like, what you see on the ingredients list is what you get, and that's it). It could have been the ratio of ingredients, the sauce or the seasoning of the meat, but this was definitely on the blander side among tacos I've had. Maybe other dishes might be better! read more

We relocated to Lancaster from 20 years in Columbus this past July and Los Amigos was the first Mexican restaurant we tried since moving to town. I've gotten used to increasingly authentic Mexican food in Central Ohio in the past decade or so but this was among the worst Mexican I've had - ever. Bland, tasteless, barely warm. Nothing about the meal or the setting was even remotely appetizing and service was sketchy at best, even with a mostly empty restaurant. We will try the few other Mexican places in town but I can guarantee we will not be returning to this lackluster place. I'm better off driving the 45 minutes into Columbus where I can have my choice of excellent Mexican fare. read more

We like to go early because it's easy to get seated where you want. Los Amigos was very much as rumors go in our small city. My gossip (?) chain said they were great. Anyway, we got there @2:00 pm and were greeted immediately by a very friendly hostess and she seated us at a padded both which was most comfortable! Nice low Mexican style music played softly in the background. You could converse without yelling. The table was clean as well as our cutlery. The menu is HUGE so be prepared to take some time to perusal six pages. Service was fast even though only one hostess/waitress. Ambiance is okay but could be spiced up with tablecloths and pictures which doesn't cost much. I decided on Taco Salad with Beef. And LOS AMIGOS LUNCHES are just right for my budget! Served 11 am to 3 pm Monday to Saturday AFTER 3 PM ADDL $2.00 Taco Salad $6.50 Crispy flour shell with your choice of beef or chicken, with beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream and guacamole. This is really mediocre Mexican food. Not awful, but pretty forgettable. There's zero spice to the food. None. Not even a fleck of cilantro or hint of garlic. Now because of COVID, there's not even hot sauce to try to liven things up. This might be a step up from a an Ortega box meal, maybe. The service was great. The ice tea was great & so were the chips and salsa. The tamales were the best things on the table. I'd go back for them & take a bottle of Tabasco with me. read more

Tried this place for dinner the other night. Service wasn't very good as we waited for a few minutes up front before anyone even came to the front to greet us. Finally got seated and found out sadly they DO NOT have margaritas!! Tragedy!! So moving beyond that I ordered what I always do when trying a new Mexican restaurant.... Carnitas! This gives you a good indicator of their handle on spices etc. I was happy with the flavor but they were very fatty. Now carintas should have some fat but this was excessive. They were tasty though. The beans were also tasty so thumbs up for flavor. The rice was awful! What came to mind was a story floating around Facebook about Chinese fake rice made of plastic well that's what this reminded me of. Little flavor and a very odd texture. Overall it's a decent spot for a quick lunch that is above fast food but I wouldn't come for a dinner experience. We have two great Mexican restaurants in Lancaster and these guys should take some notes and step up their game. read more

Then, the girl goes around and takes the tables that were seated before us, then goes around the WHOLE place taking orders! So ours was among about 12/15 orders that were taken at the same time. Received a coupon and decided to give this place a try to see what the hype was about. Got right in on a Friday evening even though most tables were filled up. Our waiter and waitress shared the restaurant and were friendly and attentive. The food came out quick and was good. I'm docking two stars because the place is small and tables are really close together creating a semi uncomfortable experience. I lived in FL for 20 years and got used to really good Hispanic/Mexican cuisine. It was a sore disappointment to move to Central Ohio and find that there were no really good authentic Mexican restaurants. Los Amigos is on a par with any Hispanic themed restaurant I've ever eaten at! Service is great, food is quick and is so so so good! You walk past it and think that it is still another hole in the wall (it is right beside Pets supply Plus and just a few doors down from Panera), but the food it great and the Texan Margaritas are CHEAP and incredibly good! I'd give it 10 stars if I could! BTW, compared to Columbus the prices are great! read more

Sat down as soon as we walked in, waited for drink orders, tried to order food with our drinks and had to wait for the server to return with a notepad to write the order, food came out timely, waited for a box, and then waited 15+ minutes for our check after asking for it. read more

We ordered water, because we were debating on whether to get an alcoholic drink or not. When we ordered dinner, my wife ordered a strawberry daiquiri and I ordered a pina colada. Shame, Shame , Shame on the reviewers for not being honest! The food came out very quickly and was barely warm. What shocked us most was the lack of taste. We custom ordered the most of the dishes outside the standard ground beef option. The chicken was dry and inserted into items without being cooked with anything to provide it flavor. The refried beans tasted like they came from a Rosarita can from the grocery store. The chips were flat with no seasoning and the salsa was palpable. The service was quick and checkout expedient. Just being honest, if you want good Mexican food with flavor, this should not be your choice! read more

We went here tonight for the first time, and WOW! First of all it was so clean, no dried food on the walls or chairs. Lacascada and the other one on Memorial drive could take some cleaning lessons from them. The place was even painted and decorated neatly, no sloppy paint jobs. The food tasted so fresh and hot and delicious. Big portions, service was great. Staff was so friendly and nice. We defiantly found our new Mexican restaurant.
