I'd been curious about this place, having seen many people check in here. It's a combination of bar food and Chinese food. I got Chinese, and it was decidedly middle of the road. Good, not great. Very good service. Nice place, wide open and feeling more like a sports bar with a Chinese restaurant attached on the edges. Lots of booths. You can see where the buffet used to be. The typical Chinese American menu options. Plus, bar and grille type items. I got my standard tester, Mongolian beef and crab Rangoons. Both have fairly subtle flavors, but places can put their own spins on them. The crab Rangoons here were clearly frozen, filled almost entirely with cheese. Just OK. And sadly, the Mongolian beef was only a little better than just OK. A few pieces of tender beef in a mild sauce, onions, good amount of green onions (which I prefer.) And some bamboo shoots, a little unusual in this dish. All over some of the crispy rice noodles, whichsadly aren't used everywhere. I ate most of it, and the pretty average fried rice beside it. But I don't think I'd come back. Nothing stands out. Prices were decent. Easy access across from the mall. Plenty of parking. read more

NO LONGER A BUFFET I was here many years ago when it was a buffet. It is no longer a buffet. Server was nice and friendly. Egg rolls were nicely sized. Large portions for the fried rice entree. I did not finish it all. My honey loved the sweet and sour chicken. Everything was fresh and delicious read more

Price was ok. The restaurant was amazingly clean. Service was great. Food was mediocre unfortunately. Cheng's is so much better read more

East West Restaurant has to be the worst place to eat in Heath. It's another shitty Chinese buffet, but which one of these isn't? This also has some of the worst piss poor service. It makes for a terrible experience. The price for this shitfest is a ripoff. A strange thing about it is the lack of Chinese food. It's a Chinese buffet but they have onion rings and spaghetti, and it's not even good. This kind of food takes up at least a third of the offerings. As if the shitty food wasn't bad enough, the service was almost worst, but the food was so bad that the service was better. Yes it's only a buffet but it's still a business so act like it. My waitress obviously didn't want to be there. She handed my my check in the middle of the meal. Thankfully I wasn't getting any more of the shitty food so not much of a problem. I would skip East West Restaurant. It sucks ass and smells like it. The area has many other Asian restaurants that are better so go to any of these. read more

East West Restaurant - Buffet - Chinese Near Me - Heath, Ohio

The East West Restaraunt is no longer a buffet, but has seen major facility upgrade, and their Menu is full of many different delicious choices! The wife and I have eaten here many times since it reopened, and have enjoyed each visit! Their Lettuce Wraps, Ragou's, and egg rolls are great appetizers, but watch out because if you get them you might have trouble eating the generous portions of food you will get on your favorite meal! My favorite meal is the Beef with Vegetables prepared spicy, and the wife loves their Pork Fried Rice. We get our favorite appetizers and end up taking enough of our meals home for a 2nd treat the next day. How do I rate the East West Restaraunt? I rate it a solid 5! The refurbished facility gets a 5, the food gets a 5, the service gets a 5 (the owner is the friendliest chap I have ever met), and the value gets a 5! Will be be going back anytime soon? We will be making the 30 mile trip again this evening and taking friends with us! I think I'll have the Lettuce Wraps and Beef with Vegetables again (Spicy). read more

Listen this place is fabulous. This is not the old buffet. This is my family's #1 go to Chinese food restaurant. The food is always hot and fresh and just so good. We ordered delivery and the owner delivers it...hot and fresh! Pay the extra money for good food!!! In my opinion, it's better than Lucky Bamboo which was always our #1. Five stars! read more

Horrible service since the remodel. Two of the girls that were waiting tables were slow, not at all responsive to empty drink glasses and we first waited 45 minutes for one of four meals to come out. Then, my husbands meal was made wrong so they took it back and rushed remaking it and didn't cook it all the way because my husband ended up having food poisoning all night all. This place was great as a buffet BEFORE they changed everything and hired new staff. Now it's awful and overpriced for the terrible service you receive. Mind you, there was only one other family in the restaurant while we were there so they weren't busy at all. read more

No buffet but very well prepared dishes with a lot of variety. Sweet and sour is done the way my wife had it while living in Hong Kong. Great sesame chicken and kung pow. read more

Had dinner here yesterday. We ordered two hot and sour soups (one bowl was barely full, and the waitress tossed them on the table and walked away without saying anything). Ordered noodles with chicken and the happy family with rice. The portions were large and were hot, but it was average. Order sweet tea and ice water, never once asked if we wanted refills and the ice water tasted off like it had cleaning chemicals in it (did not drink it). Waitress gave us the bill, came back, and got our card. Once the transaction was done, tossed the receipt on the table, she said "sign here" and walked away. As soon as we signed, she came right back and took the recipe while we were still eating. Sooo if that's not enough reason to NOT go back, keep reading. The owners wife was at the bar wrapping the silverware with everything spread out on the bar, where people were drinking, and wiped her ungloved fingers under her nose several times and picked up the next napkins and set of silverware and continued on her merry way, gross. The waitresses were all leaning over the food serving window counter on their arms and hands over top of the plates of food coming from the kitchen. Wont go back!! read more

And five years after my last review: We had a very nice lunch at East West. Since it is a buffet and I chose just what I wanted to eat, I enjoyed every morsel my chopsticks brought to my mouth. And, like my father, I really like it when we are warmly welcomed and remembered by the hostess and servers. read more

It's a decent buffet. Very friendly staff, perhaps the most friendly I've had in a Asian buffet. Selection is less than most Asian buffets, but it is still good. Just like many Asian buffets, they were not very good at keeping options fresh. They do not have a Mongolian grill or sushi like some. Although the price is similar to most. Not my preferred Asian buffet, but it is still worth going to for a casual lunch. Had a great time with new friends here. read more

Good Chinese and Asian dishes. Staff is nice and the buffet is affordable. My favorite is the hibachi chicken. The dining room is clean and large. Good selection of dishes including beef, chicken, and a large assortment of vegetables. There is also a selection of deserts for those with a sweet tooth! read more

Awesome service...awesome buffet of Chinese, to shrimp, to American goodies...service from when we walked in to walking out was awesome. For 2 people we ate a lot for under 20.00 ...lunch buffet is 6.99 and dinner buffet was 9.99 ...and refills...:-) :-) :-) and the desserts were yummy as well...Good bye Panda Express...:-) :-) read more

Love their buffet, great selection of dishes and one of my favorites, pot stickers. Staff is friendly. They have a nice dessert selection as well, well 8 different flavors of velvet icecream, can't beat that for a buffet at the price they have. This a big place and well laid out. There is a TV by the buffet area and unlike most places they certainly play it loud enough. They had the open golf tournament on today and glad they did. So far I only saw them play either news or sports. They also have booths in the front away from the buffet area and much quieter and a full bar near by(never saw anyone there ordering drinks). Plenty of parking outside, hard to turn left on to 79 on a busy day even with a middle turn lane! read more

Well, the best I can say is I've seen worse. But this was far from good. The restaurant smelled like unwashed vag due to the seafood sitting so long. Not what I want in a restaurant that's not dedicated to seafood. The service was great. But the slivers of sauce covered mystery meat was totally unappealing. I'll never step foot in this restaurant again, even if I'm on fire and they monopolize the water supply. read more

Buffet style...good selection for kids who don't want Chinese. Hot n sour soup is very good, the kitchen is on top of buffet bar...nothing goes unturned or unattended. Stag very friendly and keeps your cups filled. Prompt service and our family's go to Chinese in Newark. read more

East West was an unexpected delicacy. The food was amazing. The Mac and cheese was a sweet surprise (don't recommend it) and the ice cream spoon was filled with white powder, although the ice cream was amazing. read more

First and LAST time customer. Haven't been home thirty minutes and daughter in law got sick. Don't know what the mystery meat was. Supposed to be chicken in the fried rice. Thinking of reporting to health department. Save your time and money. Give a zero if I could. Nasty. read more

Great food for a great price. Dinner on the weekend is the best time to come, otherwise their selection is a little lacking. They have a large variety of food to choose from with both Chinese and American dishes. The only thing I didn't like was that there dessert was a little lacking if you don't want Velvet ice cream. Their pastries and fruit taste like they're from a can but they carry eight different flavors of Velvet so that can be overlooked. Service was friendly and the prices are decent. Would recommend. read more

Everything tasted the same. Hygiene doesn't appear high on the list here. This is off the list, we won't be back a second time.

This place us awful. The food is always cold and once there were a bunch of gnats in the fruit. So disgusting.

THE best chinese buffet in town. After trying it, I recommended to as many people as I could. They all tried and love it too! The food is consistently delicious. They're always checking it and putting out new stuff. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is clean and very nicely laid out and stylish. Definitely worth checking out! read more

This was absolutely the worst food I have ever ate, or actually didn't eat!!!! Never have I walked in a restaurant and not been able to find something to eat. I took one bite and couldn't even swallow it! The rice noodles tasted day old and had a fishy taste. I thought I would wash the taste out of my mouth with my Sierra Mist....Yeah right, it was carbonated water that I think had been empty for some time! My husband attempted the Teriyaki chicken and it had the texture of shoe leather! All of the food looked old! I mean come on!!!! This was at 7:30pm on a Friday night! I will NEVER go near this place again and highly recommend if you have anything other than a cast iron stomach, you avoid it too!!!! read more

a not very impressive Chinese buffet, not very many dishes to choose from, prices not very good and not on a sign or anything, wont be back.

Worst food, let alone buffet I have ever experienced. Me and my family went there tonight and was disgusted on the quality of food. The food was cold( not warm), some things smelled spoiled or very old. Most things were dry and look like they been there all day. We went there because of the good reviews, but they can't possibly be real reviews. If the reviews are real then their tastebuds must be burnt off. Please people don't trust any good reviews about this place, just warning you ahead of time. Save your money and go to billy lees or golden wok (not a buffet ), but you will deff get full for close the same price. read more

I came here with my husband and daughter this evening, and after eating a plate full of food I found a BLACK INSECT inside of my egg roll. Immediately I showed my waitress, and she went to talk with the other workers about it. Close to five minutes later she returned to ask if I wanted to eat more. I told her absolutely not, and that all of our appetites were ruined. She went back to her group of workers, discussed something, came back with my bill to tell me that she took one adult meal off of the bill. I told her that I was not willing to pay for any of the bill since all of our appetites were ruined and we were leaving still hungry but grossed out. She again went to the group of employees, they all stared at us and none came to approach me. I then took the bill to the register where they promptly came to accept my payment. I again reiterated that I did not feel as if I was responsible for paying any of the meal. She said there was nothing they could do since their manager wasn't there. I expressed that if this were in another restaurant that they would be apologizing and not making us responsible for anything. Again, they all gathered in the back around the cooks and came back to tell me that we didn't have to pay. Needless to say, we WILL NOT be back!!! read more
