I used to go to Mark Pi's years ago when living in Columbus so my expectations were higher than they should have been. The food was painfully average at best and won't go back. Broccoli was overcooked and chicken in two of my dishes did not taste fresh. The proportion of rice was way too much compared with the actual dish ordered. I really want to eat here. I've heard it's fantastic food. The problem is the inside is closed and the drive-thru is too noisy to order. Every time (every. single. time.) I attempt to eat here, I have to give up. There is a loud noise behind the building, right at the drive thru speaker. I can't hear them...they can't hear me. There are no hearing-impaired options for ordering at the drive-thru. There is just a box speaker--no screen to help ensure they would get the order right. In fact, the last time I tried to eat here, I sat at the drive thru for 5 minutes and no one even acknowledged me. Solid 4 stars for the food. Portions, price, and taste are consistent! I've been ordering from this Mark Pi's location since ~2010. Sometimes dine-in, but mostly take out. I like to order the Almond Chicken with white rice. It's a fairly simple dish and often a comfort food for me. The chicken is crispy and golden, the almonds add a nice crunch, and I really love the fresh veggies; broccoli, cabbage, and carrots. Sometimes I like to get an order of spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce. I appreciate how the owners whip up each dish made-to-order. The ingredients they cook with are freshly prepped and they keep a clean kitchen area. First let's clarify, despite the name this place has nothing to do with the chain Mark Pi's Express which is like Panda Express. This is however a family owned little spot that offers good quality Chinese fair for both casual sitdown and drive through. A very passable meal that isn't overly greasy and is on the cheap. Absolutely the BEST CHINESE FOOD! The owners are the best!!! They custom make my Hunan Beef 7 times hotter than normal because I can't find anyplace that can make my food spicy enough. Mark Pi's accomplishes that task! If you think you can eat hot and spicy, ask for "Denver's Hunan Beef" and see if you can stand the heat. read more

I always get the bourbon chicken with white rice & an order of crab rangoon. The portion size is smaller than most but the chicken is carmelized which makes it sweeter. The food takes a little more time than usual but its fresh & made to order. The crab rangoon is awesome. Five fried triangles full of a perfect cream cheese & crab mixture. I dip mine in sweet & sour sauce! The owner is always pleasant, his wife...not so much! Lol read more

Very very disappointed! I used to love Mar Pi. Loved their ABC. Stopped there today, first time in a long time. The food was terrible. I ordered and paid 50 cents extra for fried rice. I got white rice with a couple pieces of scrambled eggs. The ABC was completely tasteless. Besides the fact their service was so slow. Won't be back. Sorry! I'll go the other Chinese fast food place. Ok...I really struggle with this one. Is it a 3 or a 4? I went back and forth...3, no 4, no 3. Basically I would rate it 3.5 but I can't so I gave them the round up to 4. The food is good. It is a solid 4 bordering on 5 based on the food alone. I had Kung Pao Chicken and it was really good. The Egg Roll I got with it was so good I blew my diet and got a 2nd one. I bring it down to a 3 for the format/decor because it is basically a Chinese McDonalds as far as format/décor. You place your order at the counter and wait for it to come up, then you sit down. There is no table service. Plastic Silverware/Paper Plate. Doesn't matter if you want take out but it is a notch below a place with good table service and real tableware. But the good news is unlike Panda Express (who I would say is their main competition in the Chinese Fast Food category in the Newark area) your order is cooked to order. I personally like that even though it means I wait a couple minutes rather than have the food immediately plopped onto my plate from the pile of precooked food behind the glass. But the wait was surprisingly short. I was actually surprised because by the time I got my Diet Coke and plastic silverware and napkins collected my order was up. Fountain pop refills are .50cents and you go back to the counter for them. In the end, the food is real good Chinese cooked to order in a McDonalds format so I rate it above Panda Express and the price is a bargain. Cheaper than Panda Express although the portion was a little smaller than Panda Express. I would not hesitate to go there again for quick, inexpensive Chinese food. read more

I have eaten Mark Pi as growing up today I tried this one out Hebron Ohio when we got home looked at our food so disappointed portion of the food is for a 5 years old the fried rice is not fried rice at all I WILL NEVER EAT here again!! read more

This town scares me. People say it's growing and so on.. Everything is old and outdated. However as honest of a person this review is about food. I work with State Farm and travel with them. I've eaten at a lot of places, and this place is superb. The food was beyond my expectation. They cook it fresh and will cater to your liking. I promise you the food was on point. Don't order orange chicken expecting it to be superb. That's not real Chinese or Asian food in my opinion. I ordered the Ma La (chicken and green beans) and God was it good. read more

I've been going here for years, I've always loved it. Great price for great yummy food. But... lately my food hasn't tasted right. The past two times I have went my food has had a funky taste to it, tonight was so bad my kids and I couldn't even eat the two entrees we ordered. Spring roll was pretty good, asked for 8 fourteen cookies and the bag she gave me was full of stale cookies with a funky taste to them that I couldn't eat them either. Really hope they fix it, until then I will eat elsewhere. read more

For fast Chinese food, it's pretty darn good. Love the hot and sour soup. It has always tasted fresh. I think Panda Express buys Chinese food here then they keep it on a steam table for two weeks, maybe three then they sell it as their own, right before it turns green. read more

I drove thru today on my lunch break. I was a little concerned since there wasn't a customer car in the parking lot, but I ordered chicken, veggies and brown rice. Everything was very fresh, lots of chicken The vegetables were awesome and cooked perfectly; lot's of them in there. Snap peas, peppers, cabbage, zucchini, mushrooms, broccoli and carrots. A lot of Chinese places put so many carrots and onions and leave out the good stuff, but not this place. So although their location isn't the greatest, as it can be a little difficult to turn left on to Rt 79, it's well worth a visit! read more

The food is good but I didn't really like the idea that the cooks actually weigh each and every item that goes into the meal. If you have to weigh the carrots, broccoli and chicken then I'm not impressed. Panda in Newark is much better than this place. Panda loads up the plate by eyeballing the portions. When they can't see the plate anymore for all the food then it's served. No weighing anything. read more

Mark Pi's is, in my opinion, the best Chinese (or "Americanized Chinese") chain that I have tried thus far. They use quality ingredients and are very skilled cooks. I engaged in a conversation with the owners' family and received a deeper appreciation of the restaurant chain as a whole in doing so. The General Tso's Chicken was made to order with additional chili peppers (I am a spice nut) and the egg drop soup is impeccable for the price. It is very modestly priced and I am always satisfied when I eat there. Mark Pi's exceeds Panda Express with flying colors, and additional meat is not too costly. I have a great appreciation for the owners and their family, as we had real, thoughtful discussions and everyone in Heath seems to know everyone in Heath. I would definitely recommend it over Panda Express, but the only drawback is that with Panda Express, you can get entirely chicken and this is the only disparity. All things included, I would definitely go to Mark Pi's over Panda Express because their meat is higher quality. I am definitely a fan of Mark Pi's!! read more
