I hadn't gone here by myself as it is on Franklin Blvd and i thought probably just another corporate owned, cysco supplied place....but, it was my sweetie's birthday and his choice....we were so glad we went there...we only had nachos and margaritas, but both were excellent. Really, the best nachos we have ever had....and decent margaritas for $10! two of us couldn't even finish the nachos...the service was friendly, helpful and spot on....and we found out it is family run and they have another place in McMinnville and some of these employees drive over from there to work in Eugene to make sure it is all done right..... gotta go back and try their chilequiles! read more

Excited to try a new place and especially anything with tequila in the name. Today, I'm going to give it three stars in hopes some changes will be made going forward. Being a new establishment is never easy and there's always some kinks to work out. Service was five star hands-down. Sadly, the house, margarita, as well as my friends Cadillac margarita, both were returned because the mix was super sweet and had a chemical aftertaste. Most likely it was the mix and also the tequila choice. In all fairness, I always try a house margarita, first before upgrading my tequila choice. No issues sending the margaritas back and exchanging it for a Mexican logger. The food portions were pretty hefty, we all had to go boxes but the flavor just missed the mark. The chips were unsalted, my Quesa Birria tacos had absolutely no flavor, salt would've elevated everything. I wish them the best and I'm willing to try them again in the future. read more

I lived in Arizona for 15 years and extensively travel for work. This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Eugene. House Margarita was perfect, chips were lightly salted, great salsa, perfect rice, complementary bean dip with chips was a huge hit with the kids. Had asada tacos, wonderful! Husband had carne asada, one child had pollo asada, and the other had Huevos rancheros. They agreed, best Mexican restaurant in town. read more

Bee little place with great food! Within walking distance from a handful of hotels and across the street from UofO. We went 3x in one week to try the different options & drinks. Mojarra Frita (fried fish), delish! Oysters and Shrimp ceviche, perfect! Asada tacos, amazing! The pinto beans they serve as dip with the starter chips, yummm! Chicken salad, simple but nice & filling. Cadillac margaritas, 2 thumbs up!! First time I noticed that Tequila Burrito Bar was open, and there was space in the lot, so I dropped in. Pleasantly surprised! The chili relleno was perfect, and the beans and rice were surprisingly good. I was promptly greeted and allowed to seat myself. Servers didn't hover, but were attentive. Finally had a chance to stop here, and thought it would be a treat. To everyone else's point the service was slow, and got exponentially slower as the meal progressed... The margaritas seemed to have zero tequila in them, and I got a second one because the waiter couldn't understand me over the blaring ranchero music (does it need to be THAT loud??) I will say that the food was good, I got the tortilla soup, the grilled chicken on it was amazing, but way too many tortillas in it, the cheese was in a melted glob in the bottom, and it could have used more seasoning. The menu didn't have a lot on it, but then did oddly have options like "nacho fries". The Molecajete was decent, but was not served with enough tortillas. It took a long time for anyone to come back to the table to ask for more. The skinny marg was not the best, but i still would have ordered a second one had they ever came back to the table and offered another round of drinks. We sat there for a good 45 minutes after our drinks were done and they never did bring out our check, we had to go inside in order to pay. Mediocre food and drinks, maybe a 3 star, made into a 1 star for lack of service. They were not busy either, all the employees were standing behind the bar just talking to each other ignoring their customers. read more

Sat at the bar. A few minutes after sitting down I was given a menu. Several minutes later the bartender was making a margarita and asked me if I wanted chips and salsa. I said no, but I'd like a margarita. Fifteen minutes later, no margarita and I saw the bartender wiping tables at the other end of the restaurant, so I left. Glad I did. We stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday. The restaurant is spacious and clean. The servers are friendly and attentive. The food is authentic and very tasty. Starting from the chips and salsa through our soup and tacos. Everything was as good or better than most Mexican restaurants we have been to. Even their house margarita was great, smooth and generous. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone that loves Mexican food. read more

Ordered the Taco salad with ground beef. My plate came out with a thin layer of beans on the bottom soaked in liquid. Right off the bad the taco shell was soggy. The meat was good but the ratio of lettuce to meat was way off. It was more like a lettuce salad with a scoop of meat and guac. There also were no beans or other items in the meal to help bind the food together so when you took a bite all the lettuce fell off and made the meal really messy. The party I was with meals looked great and said their food tasted really good. They ordered Carne asada fries and a Quesabirra Taco. It's a great looking spot and staff were very nice; I wouldn't order the taco salad again though. read more

if I could give this place negative stars, I would. I walked in wanting to order a burrito to go. After waiting some 10 minutes to be greeted, I finally got the attention of a young 20 something male who had been standing at the register closing out tabs. A large group of about 8 had gotten up and approached the register and he ignored me and began closing out each separate check. after 15 minutes o decided to help myself to sitting a a filthy bar that hadn't been bussed. I finally flagged down a woman and asked if I could place a Togo order for an ala-carte burrito Al Pastor. She rang it up and the total came to $14. the aka-carte burrito on the menu was Listed at $10. She was very curt and when I pointed out how long I had been waiting to even be greeted, she insisted I look around at how busy they were. I informed her that several groups had walked in and left because they too had not been greeted and that I would like the lusted burrito price on the menu. She treated me with hostility informing me that burrito only came with meat, sauce and cheese. No rice, no beans, no salsa, nothing. I said that is not a burrito and I'm not paying $10 for a wet quesadilla with meat. The kid behind the counter piped up and said he had greeted me earlier. I walked out wanting to leave it at that after asking some other people if they had ever heard of such a burrito and both the kid and the woman started yelling at me. I was going to leave it, but decided I wanted to speak to the manager. Turns out the kid is the manager and his daddy runs the place, as he proudly declared when I asked for the owners number not wanting to get in to it with a young egomaniac. I asked several times for his fathers number and he called the police and attempted to trespass me. This little Mexican joint is hot garabage. I strongly recommend no one support this business as it's completely unprofessional and the best thing about it is it's brand new look. -10 stars read more
