Jalisco has a very nice decor that is reminiscent of Old Mexico. It is very clean, well lit and has an ambiance similar to an authentic villa. The staff is very polite and accommodating as we had to switch tables when an unexpected 5th showed up to our lunch. Drinks were brought out and I found the menu to be very broad with many options. Being that our group had been out of touch for several years, the staff were very patient as we were catching up while trying to peruse this large menu. I finally settled for the Asada Fries. Even though it was listed as an appetizer it turns out to be a very large portion. It came with very well prepared pieces of skirt steak, fresh cut green onions, melted cheese, tomato, hot peppers, sour cream and guacamole. All this covering a large bed of crinkle cut fries. The fresh chopped veggies with the perfectly seasoned bits of steak was just fantastic. This restaurant has such good quality food that it is turning me around on authentic Mexican food. This is my favorite "sit down" Mexican restaurant in the Eugene/Springfield area. The portions are filling and I never leave hungry. The salsa and chips you get while you wait for your meal are incredible and they have the best Mexican rice I've ever had. The service is always friendly and fast. My wife loves their margaritas. A large group close to 30 went to the restaurant. Everything went well up until the time came for the food to arrive. There didn't seem to be any semblance of order in the meals that were coming out which required a constant asking about every meal they were trying to place. Then only about half the meals came out, which was close to 45 mins after being ordered. My meal was cold when it came out, which was mole, and cold mole isn't delicious. Another 40 mins later the rest of the meals came out. I do understand that this was a really large group, but would be very hard pressed to ever recommend coming here with a large group. read more

We came in Mother's Day around 130pm- pretty quiet inside only a few other small tables of 2-3 maybe 4 people at tables. Seated quickly with menus and asked if we wanted other drinks, we ordered 2 drinks from the bar. We were brought chips & salsa & waters after a few minutes. After some time we were asked our order and I asked if our drinks were coming, they said yes and they arrived a few minutes later. Probably 8-10 mins after ordering. We then ordered a side of guacamole and it never came during our entire visit. We got an order of a quesadilla & chicken taquitos. Both served with a small scoop of guacamole, sour cream and a bed of lettuce. Both were really yummy. Unfortunately the service lacked and we weren't checked up on. I've noticed this to be a constant issue at this location. Every time we come our drinks, an entree, tortillas, appetizer, or something else is forgotten. It happens every visit. I try to remind them or flag them down politely so things aren't missing. Anyways, the food is good. The salsa was okay, and the chips were a bit stale this time. Sad! The part that was shocking was the quesadilla said $9.99 and we were charged $19.99!! No one ever came back and we were tired of waiting after we got our bill so we left cash on our table and left. This is good Mexican food but not great. They're consistent with their dishes and keep to the traditional dinners. Tonight I had small combo #2; cheese enchilada and chicken taco with beans and rice. They use prepared corn taco shells and lay them on the side which causes the taco to become soggy on one side. I wish they fried the whole taco and stuffed the lettuce and chees inside. The enchilada was delicious; full of hot cheese and the sauce was good. My dinner partner had the carne asada which looked good. Two nice sized portions of grilled flank steak along with the usual sides. Of course you get a basket of chips and salsa. The salsa is heavy on cayenne but not overly hot. A pico de gallo would be a nice addition to the usual. Service is always terrific. The staff is friendly and check in on you frequently. You won't go away hungry or disappointed. read more

Ok so I'm giving Jalisco one more star than they probably deserve, but honestly, they have great service and that is super important to me. They have been attentive and accommodating for me. The food is ok Cantina style Mexican food. Everything I order sort of tastes the same, but to be fair, I mix my food when I eat. The margaritas are simple and what you would find at most places in town. The enchiladas, fajitas, tacos, and hue is rancheros have all been decent. I recommend checking it out. The restaurant is festive and they have a second room that hasn't been in use during Covid, but if they were busy it sort of looks like they would/could have music. read more

It is closer to what I'm use to since I'm originally from Southern California where there's Mexican food everywhere. Lol. Give this place a shot. I ordered a large combination plate with shredded beef for $15.95. You can choose from enchiladas, burritos, tacos, tostadas, and tamales with the usual choices of proteins. I can't speak on the burrito, but the only thing I found disappointing was the tamale. It lacked filling, but the flavors were good. The service was great with caring and respectful and staff. Our water was refilled multiple times without having to ask. It was a warm, comfortable environment with clean tables and chairs. I want to highlight the beans and rice for the phenomenal flavor and texture.. I would have to say these are some of the best beans and rice I've had in Lane County. it's definitely worth a try if you want big portions of tasty food for a fair price. They were friendly and attentive to our drinks. I ordered my favorite go to when it's on the menu is Pollo A La Crema. We ordered and then we waited... and then waited more... It took about 25 minutes for our food to arrive. To me I wasn't a fan of their food. My pollo a la crema sauce was good in taste, but the chicken was extremely dry and tough and had to pretty much push it aside to get to the pieces that were tender and edible. I even thought it might be reheated from the day before. So unfortunately my first visit wasn't the greatest and hesitant to try it again... but time will tell. read more

We started eating there last August. It was delicious. Wonderful salsa large portions. I went in January tried calling to place an order when they opened no one answered. Then I went over and they were closed I saw aman he let me in and I placed my order.the meat so grisly and chewy and the prices had jumped. Awful. Then yesterday my husband and I went back and it was even worse. The ground beef didn't have the texture of ground beef and the salsa was runny and didn't taste the same. The food was horrendous. We sat for another 25 min and nobody ever came and took or order. Their were people seated after us in another section that got helped well before us. This was my first time at this restaurant. I arrived on a Sunday during lunch, and there were only a couple of other customers. The service was outstanding and speedy. Very clean. The prerequisite tortilla chips and salsa when you arrive were very fresh and excellent.
