I have ordered takeout about 5-6 times now and they never disappoint. The spicy ribs are amazing and the owner always ensures that he is serving quality food. The huge smoker and piles of wood out front let you know it's going to be good. I originally planned to share one with my husband, but as soon as he saw someone else's, he decided he needed one all to himself! We must've gone at the right time of day because our wait was only about 1/2 hour. Each 3 pound cheesesteak is made to order and ours came out loaded with tender steak, creamy cheese, lots of onions and peppers, and were piping hot. So delicious!! Their food is quite tasty...if you can ever get it. I typically order the Fried Fish available only on Fridays and their special Chef Special Philly Cheesesteak. My only gripe with them is their poor expediting skills when it comes to fulfilling customer orders. I've seen them take items from smaller orders that haven't been picked up to fulfill larger ones. One evening, I placed my usual order of the fish and the special cheesesteak. Another gentleman places a rather large order immediately after me. He gets an assortment of items (ribs, chicken, brisket, fish, fries). Somehow, he gets his order before me. After he leaves, I ask if my order is ready since that gentleman ordered AFTER me. Then I get told that they are waiting for my fish order even though that gentleman just walked out with an order containing fish. Other times, I've called in only to get a false waiting time. (Placed order at 7PM, told to pickup at 730PM). Order wasn't ready until 815PM. As they are right down the road from my house, I would love to go there more often. However, I've wasted several hours of my time just waiting for my food. Until they fix their broken system of fulfilling orders, I won't be a regular. read more

We live in the area and tonight was our second time ordering here. My husband called to place an order at 2 pm to be picked up at 6 pm. My husband told me they are pretty slow giving out the food, so get there early to pick it up. I show up at 5:30 to pick it up. Many people came in to order or to pick up an order in the time I stood and waited. Some came in and cancelled their orders from their wait. I tell them I'm going to wait in the car which is right outside the front door. "Okay we'll bring it out to you". Perfect. Well, 6 pm comes and goes, around 6:10 I ask if the order is almost ready because my husband ordered it hours ago to be picked up at 6. He has a confused look on his face like I haven't been here the whole time waiting in front of them. I finally left with our dinner at 6:30 pm. Customer service is mediocre. We arrived around 11:55am and went inside to place our order, they already had no brisket or chicken..... no...chicken? Alrighty then. We ordered 2 chopped pork sandwiches and an order of ribs. I'm not new to ordering bbq, I get that it's gonna take a bit to get it together, so my review isn't really based on the wait time, or the customer service or their covid precautions, etc. This review is strictly based on the food. 1. The "chopped" pork sandwiches we got were pulled pork, not chopped. Bummer. 2. The ribs were not very tender unfortunately, they were quite chewy actually. I'm gonna have to reheat the leftovers in my pressure cooker I'm sure. 3. Fries were decent, well seasoned too. 4. Mac n' cheese was good, I'd definitely order that again. When he finally did have something we asked for he couldn't get the order right . 3lb cheese, the meat taste freezer burnt , inedible. It was my first time getting food from TB's and probably my last time. I ordered a cheesesteak that was good; however different from the norm. It was worth what I paid but different from your normal Philly cheesesteak. Great flavor but extremely soggy roll. I am not sure if it could of been customized to add or subtract ingredients; since there were no options on their website. The brisket tasted like it was cooked on top of burning wood. BBQ is suppose to have a hint of smoke, not taste like you are eating a charred piece of wood. The brisket also tasted old? The sauce on the brisket "spicy" was just OK, nothing special. I was going to order sides when I arrived, but was told it would be an additional wait time for them to be prepared? I understand in these trying times that no restaurant can afford to have additional food going to wastes, but the sides requested should be readily available. I wish I could give a better review but the service has lapsed as well as the food. I had the same experience as the person stated on their Google review. The chicken wings smelling really bad. I was in shock, like you had to smell this cooking them. I called the owner to let him know not to sell this to anyone else because they had a strong odor and not good. He stood by his food but thanked me for letting him know. I ordered at 12:30 and was told to pick up at 1:10 and the food (wings, fish, and slice of pie) was not ready until 1:45. The sweet potato pie in the bag was old and burnt. I'm so glad I noticed it before leaving. I said oh no, I don't want this. It should not be sold to anyone. Savor the flavor- I even shared with coworkers and I don't like to share my eats. One said it was so good she didn't even wanna warm it up once she got her piece. Went there today. I gave it 1 star because the food is good but the service is terrible. The employee was rude. Waited on my order for an hour and it was all wrong. I ordered a half pound of brisket. I noticed on the receipt that it said brisket sandwich so we went in to make sure it wasn't the sandwich. She said that it just says that because that's how they have it in the computer. Of course they still gave us the SANDWICH when we got it. Also ordered 8 spare ribs, spicy. We got mild. Ordered a half pound of chicken and got a chicken SANDWICH (again). Ordered greens, and when our order was finally done they said they didn't have greens anymore. So, we didn't get that either. (I guess it takes an hour to figure out you don't have greens anymore.) A half hour after I placed the order, I went inside to see how much longer (because she gave me ZERO instruction as to how long or if they bring it to the car) She looked at me 5 times on the other side of the wall while I waited patiently then she finally came out and said we will call you when it's done. Why she couldn't tell me that when she looked at me the first time, I'll never know. I just don't know how you can get NOT ONE THING right in an entire $50 order. What's worse is that I paid before my order was done and had left a tip on my credit card. I regret that decision. I called a couple times to try and place an order ahead of time. The food isn't bad. The service is horrible. Today it took them 75 minutes to fry 3 pieces of fish. When I ordered the cashier told me 15 minutes. When o came back 30 minutes later and asked why my food wasn't ready he told me I'm not the cook- then why did you tell me 15 minutes? Nope be avoided the spot for a year because they were ridiculous with their service even when they started. I am highly disappointed at the unprofessionalism of their staff moving slowly throughout the place and zero communication. Twice they have missed my order entirely. The first time, I ordered 3 cheesesteaks for myself and 2 friends. They told me to wait 45 minutes. When we arrived they were all like "duhhhh we don't have your order" and they took another full hour to make 3 cheesesteaks. A year later, in an effort to give them a second chance I ordered 2 cheesesteaks with a friend. I was put on hold for 10 min, tried again and nobody answered, tried again and someone finally answered. I confirmed over the phone that he understood my full order, name, and phone number. "Nothing could go wrong this time" I thought. When my friend and I arrived 55min later (guy said 45 min to make the food) employees are just sitting around on their phone. They had lost our order AGAIN. Not once did it ever seem as though any employees really cared that they did not deliver. They didn't care that 2x consecutively they had lost (or never even processed) our order that we confirmed over the phone. 1 more hour they said. Forget it.
