Big John's is really good. I am from the south so some real cornbread (not Jiffy) with the greens would be really tasty. The ribs were on point. The mustard sauce on the ribs was great. The young lady at the register was really nice. There is a sitting area outside. So on a beautiful day you can enjoy a meal and that yummy grill smell. John makes his own mix of Kool aid which reminded me of old school. (Flash back mood) LOL I will be trying other things on the menu, so we will be back. read more

I've been wanting to try Big John's for awhile. Finally drove by when he was open. I missed out on the Mac and Cheese, but the potato salad was great. The collards were delicious and of course, the pulled pork was great. I have enough pork left over for a sandwich tomorrow. The hot BBQ sauce was nice...even on the collard greens. Service was friendly and I appreciate the young lady bringing my order to my car. Definitely going back. Hopefully I won't miss the Mac & Cheese again. Thank you!!! read more

I'm a Yelp fangirl always, but when I can use the app to find hidden gems in a new place I get super hyped. We were driving through Delaware with a cranky baby and in desperate need of lunch. We pulled into the parking lot of a pizzeria, opened up the Yelp app and saw that the Big John's food truck was parked across the street and was serving up homemade BBQ. Yes, please! Hubs and I both ordered pulled pork sandwiches and we'll both be dreaming about it for a long time. The pork was juicy, decadent and flavorful. It came with a side of the most incredible BBQ sauce, but the meat was so flavorful it could've also been enjoyed standalone. The sandwich seriously had enough meat on it to feed two people, and I could barely finish 1/3 of it. I wish I had added something on for a little extra crunch like pickles or cole slaw, but this sandwich was still perfection. SO glad we stopped here instead of eating Subway at a rest stop. Well my fellow Yelper's it's time for another review, it's Big John's Barbecue turn. My wife's friend told her about Big John's so i looked it up a i noticed that we know Big John so you know we had to see what he has to offer. The fellowship was great because we haven't see him in yrs. We got the pork rib platter, but he gave us a sample of smoked meatloaf, and brisket and man it was GREAT!!!! The smoke rings on the meatloaf and brisket was the opening act to the headliner.... The taste of the meat was extraoridinary. And John personelly brings your bag of goodie to your car, Gold Star. We will definitely go back again, and again.... No need for score because Big John's Barbecue gets 10's all around. Keep up the great work. read more

This place is no joke the best BBQ I've ever had. I've never tried to get every last bit of meat off the bones like I did with Big John's. We were just driving by but once we smelled the smoker, we had to U-turn it back and I'm so glad we did. We got the pork ribs and the rub and smokey flavor was fantastic. The homemade hot sauce was like a slightly spicy honey mustard that paired so well with pork ribs. Super nice people working there and they even bring the food out to your car. Almost all the sides/sauces/desserts/drinks are handmade too which is hard to find nowadays and they had great music playing. Plus they have really reasonable prices for the quality of food you get. This place definitely lived up to their reputation and if you're passing by when they're open you gotta stop by and get something, you won't regret it. read more

Omg bbq! Better than DE beach Bethany Blues (which is hard to beat)! Highly recommend! We have ordered twice and sampled different things in our orders; my assessment is as follows: Meats: Brisket was deliciously seasoned and not dry Pulled pork was amazing especially with their bbq sauce Chicken leg delicious (but skin isn't crispy in case that's important to you) Meatloaf was huge and delicious but needs to be eaten with their sauce Chicken salad was good but the other proteins were our favorites (seemed like it was the leftover chicken wings without the skin of course, so if you like their chicken wings you will like their chicken salad) Haven't tried the ribs yet and rumors has it he is working on a smoked turkey (can't wait) Get the green beans (trust me) Broccoli was amazingly seasoned Mac cheese yes please Potato salad was yummy Sweet potatoes are good (but only if you like cinnamon) Collard greens were good but like the other sides better Hoping they will add corn bread to the menu Their MILD sauce is AMAZING. It's not too vinegary. While mustard based, it's not too mustardy. If you like honey mustard from the grocery store, you'll love their sauce. read more

I ate his smoked chicken wings, Mac and cheese and sauteed broccoli. It was melt in your mouth good! I finished it up and was already planning when I'll order next.
