We tried the regular hot dog and the hot sausage; the regular hot dog had a weird pale color to it, so even after topping it with some diced onions, it was tossed. The hot sausage was enjoyed by the hubs, and he said it was spicy and had good flavor. There's a condiment table in the front, but most were out and needed to be refilled (ketchup, mustard, relish, and onions). The staff here are super friendly and welcoming, and there were a couple of picnic tables set up for those who wanted to eat right there. All I could think about was a foot-long from the Dog House. After a great cruise and a stop at the museum at Dover Air force base I made it to New Castle. Making the merge onto RT13 I could the sign ahead of me. Parking can be tough but there was spot out front. I did notice the sign has changed, again. My father had been taking me here since 1969. It was our place to go on our Saturday trips from Jersey since it is a sales tax free state. After walking in I couldn't help notice how the inside had changed (last time here was 2021). If you think it has a nostalgic feel now, you have seen it in the '80s and '90s. They have taken down all the hand painted signage and replaced the menu board with a modern one, dang. I just hope they don't plan on franchising the place. I managed to grab a seat at the counter and in no time I was placing my order. All in all, the food is still done the same. Dogs split and grilled on the flat top and the fries are great with their own signature seasoning.
