Modern, cozy, filled with students on their laptops with no room to sit down.,That should give you a sign why this place is so popular, in a college town where there is great coffee, you will see this scene. The latte I had was fabulous, the Gluten Free Lavender muffin was unusual but tasty, must admit I am not sure if they make the baked goods here or not. read more

My friend had a pour over brew, but I was pretty overwhelmed so opted for regular drip coffee. Both were delicious, but I did feel slightly awkward in what to order. So if you are into complex coffees, you'll dig this place. If, like me, you just want a decent cup of joe, this could be a little out of your element. But whatever the case...darn good. read more

Probably one of the best coffee shops I have been to -- they have amazingly well-crafted and delicious tasting coffee. If you're visiting Davis, I would definitely stop by here and taste their cold brew. If you haven't had a cold brew before, this is the place to try it. I actually visited it twice during the same day to try out their different coffees. It's a bit on the pricier side, even for a craft coffee shop. The place gets a little busy, finding a spot to sit might get a little hard. Earlier in the morning probably is a better time to visit since students haven't started the day yet. On a more negative side, we asked for a cup of water and they gave us this tiny little cup and we had to stand in line again to refill it. It was a really hot day in Davis and my friends and I were completed parched. We had to stand in line three times to get three cups of water to quench our thirst. The third time, the cashier complained that we've been using too many cups! Well, I can't help asking for another cup if you're giving me water in a tiny tiny cup. Even worse, I can't refill it myself! A much better experience would have been if I could get water without even asking the cashier and refill the cup myself. I don't even need glass cups, just place some plastic cups on a counter with water container. I am sure I am not the only one thirsty for water in Davis, and this could really fix the experience. read more

One great cup of coffee! Didn't really try annoying else so unfortunately this welkin be a short review. Got the Americano. I was filmed with confusion because I'm used to a huge one from Starbucks. But this smaller portion was worth it. The flavor was strong and the taste was too. I added two packets of splenda because I was nervous I wouldn't be able to handle the raw flavor of this cup of coffee. Taste was good but I will have to come back so I can try it out without any added sugar or anything else. read more

Temple is such a solid coffee shop. All of drinks are really good like the enlightenment and bliss tea drinks, and especially the Mexican mocha- I love it so much it. Temple has a 3hr limit of their wi-fi which is good or bad depending on the situation, and they only have a few outlets. Temple's drinks are a little pricey, and gets kind of cold in here, but I really enjoy coming here. The raspberry pastry is also really yummy. read more

Great atmosphere. Always filled with people studying or on coffee dates. Free wifi is limited to 2 hours but is high speed. Drinks are delicious but a touch overpriced. My favorites are the Bliss (peppermint tea with coconut milk and honey) and the Mexican hot chocolate. read more

Temple gives a sensory experience, it's the full package. Aside from their delicious tea (since I haven't tried their coffee), their interior design is beautiful and very relaxing, it's really meant for a place to leisurely drink coffee/tea, definitely recommend for here to get the whole experience by coffee tasting within the surrounding atmosphere. I tried Coconut and mint tea, came with a teacup set, pour it yourself hands on experience. It was so delicious, the foam and the warm temperature compliments each other, and the creamy and minty flavor was very soothing and a unique taste in tea. I do miss it afterward. Price is a bit expensive, $5 for what I had. Real plants on display on tables, several pleasant sites of extravagant glass displays and coffeemakers, every detail from their cup designs, teacup set, wooden chairs, really says a lot about their coffee, it's like coffee's environment in its most profound state. read more

Seriously one of my favorite places to get coffee, ice mocha, or just interesting teas. I went to both of their location in Sacramento and fell in love with their atmosphere and drinks. Their teas (enlightenment and the peppermint) were both good because they were too sweet and you could taste and smell the tea very well. I love their Mexican mocha because it's it depth of flavor without being overly sweet. So far this location is just as good as the ones I've had in Sacramento so I hope they keep up their quality and customer service consistently! Even though I'm moving back to the bay, when I come visit Davis it'll probably still be my go to coffee place! read more

Great little coffee shop! Staff is friendly. Vibe is both modern and comfortable. They don't have an exhaustive menu, but they pretty much nail all the drinks they do have. read more

Great coffee! So quiet I felt like I should whisper. Not a lot of seating. TBH I'll keep going to Sbux cuz I can get more for my $ in the long run, and they have more seating. read more

A great coffee place to visit for ANY occasion! Friendly staff and delicious lattes. Their baked goods are also very solid!

Honestly I feel like the decor is very simple and not very realistic . The furniture and area inside looks like I'm in at an IKEA store . It just looks very simple and like very Americanized (white, wealthy, gentrified) . The coffee is over priced and I don't think it speaks to the city of Davis where it's a more diverse and cultured city full of many coffee spots where they offer a better environment where you can come in and have a coffee . I feel like this spot you really come in and sit down in these uncomfortable chairs and just read or scroll on your laptop , as if you're there so when people pass by the place they think you have money to spend money on overpriced mediocre coffee. read more

Temple is a nice and classy coffee shop with a stylish and cleanly designed interior, excellent coffee, and friendly and knowledgeable baristas. Perfect for a small date or catch up with friends. The only downside is that since it's in a college town, people tend to want to study there, which the table and seat designs are not the best for. However, this place still gets five stars from me because for me because I mostly view this place as a classy get together spot rather than a study area. read more

If you are purchasing tea leaves or ground coffee based on its weight, be sure you are getting what you are purchasing. I purchased 7 Oz of tea leaves and when I got home I weighed it to see that there was only 2.5 Oz. When I returned to the store I was told that they used a volume measurement for the 7 Oz not a weight measurement.. In other words 7/8 of a cup of dry measure equaled 7 Oz. . This is a very deceptive practice. I gave them 2 stars because they gave me a full refund. read more

The cappuccino was well made and the staff is friendly in a beautifully designed coffee shop. The pastry menu is minimal, it's a good place for coffee lovers but not for people looking for full food menu options. I will return! read more

I can't stomach this place. When you walk inside the building you get hit with a wave of acidic espresso - and it's only a omen of what is to come. All of their espresso drinks are strongly acidic and most closely resembles battery acid. If you're like me, one sip and your stomach churns. Sour and acidic espresso is a sign of spoiled coffee beans - likely from sitting in oxygen for too long. With the prices Temple charges for their drinks I would imagine they would spend more time perfecting their primary product. Now, some people enjoy the acidic espresso flavor and some even believe it is the true way to brew espresso! The owners of Temple may feel this way, but it is disappointing they would not offer another alternative. 2 stars for decor and teas. But I'm a coffee drinker. read more

Great coffee and vibe! Love that you can order online and the staff is always so friendly. Special request to the owners to open a location in Los Altos please! read more

Good lattes, very weak pour over coffee, rude baristas. Disappointing overall. Too bad, because this is a great location.

At Temple, you're definitely going to get quality coffees and teas. My favorites are the jasmine tea and chai tea latte. They also usually have a bunch of gluten free/vegan baked goods which I love. Not giving this place the full 5 stars, just because i hate studying here. -chairs are uncomfortable -it's always soooooo cold -barely any outlets -super narrow tables I would recommend getting some coffee to go to study somewhere else. Or just coming here for a coffee date. read more

The coffee is absolutely delicious -- certainly my favorite in Davis. The baristas are always kind and helpful. The only downside is the price -- I end up paying $7+ for a latte which is really expensive. read more

There is a choice of cool indoor space with AC blasting and clean, shaded out door seating. The staff are friendly and the coffee beans are delicious, more lightly roasted than your average chain store beans. The resulting coffee drinks are more subtle and nuanced. read more

How can you ever go wrong with Temple Coffee Roasters? By not going in, of course! Their location in downtown Davis is packed with enlightened students and blissful adults getting their fix in a sleek, modern, almost upscale coffee bar. Temple Davis is right on the corner of 3rd & G Street with no parking whatsoever. The drink menu is basic, but Temple excels in offering many different coffee and tea varietals to enjoy in your beverage. They have advanced brewing equipment for espresso and drip service and a limited assortment of gourmet pastries for a snack or light meal. There is a large common table in the middle for discussion or to pretend you are working. Stools along the windows allow you to get a buzz watching all the pretty people walk by too. If I lived or worked in Davis, this would be a full 5 star review, but it is too much of a challenge to drive to Davis and find parking to visit this location. You really need to walk or bike here to avoid the hassle. Other than access issues, Temple Davis is still an amazing location with some of the best coffee in California. read more

I went here because it looks so cute from the outside. it was a rainy day and woke up early because i knew this place would have something good. Hot chocolate is very good ! and the latte is strong but sweet. The muffins are delicious. It looks like a good place to study read more

Nothing makes me prouder than going to a 3rd wave coffee house out-of-town, wearing my Temple gear, and being recognized for my good taste in coffee. It's happen numerous times and speaks volumes to the reputation and high quality Temple exudes. I don't get too fancy when I visit Temple, a simple almond milk latte does me fine. My wife, on the other hand, enjoys their mochas. Always clean, excellent customer service, and a helpful attitude make for a very pleasant experience. On occasion, I've purchased some whole beans, usually to bring over to my "coffee snob" brother-in-law, knowing he'll be impressed, and re-paying my generosity with a delicious espresso. The Sacramento region has positioned itself as a real destination point for excellent 3rd wave coffee roasters, with Temple Coffee setting the standard. Why anyone would go to one of those "chain" coffee spots, obviously has no appreciation for high quality coffee. Ouch ! That sounded pretentious and snobbish. A badge I wear proudly. read more

I love the coffee and the atmosphere here. The only reason that I'm not giving 5 stars is because I think its pretty expensive...For an plain iced coffee and a muffin, I paid almost 8 dollars. read more

I visit the Davis temple at least once a week, so any review less than 4 stars doesn't justify my frequent visit. I mainly come to Temple for the outside seating area since the tables are nicely shaded under trees and the street is just the right amount of busy for an extrovert who likes to work out of the house and be amongst people :) The inside has a contemporary ambiance, is almost always busy, and the stools are more comfortable than they look! The Davis temples limits the guest-wifi to 3 hours with a one hour break before you can connect again (I haven't stayed long enough to test this yet); the connectively is almost always robust, there has been a couple of times where I had trouble connecting though. I'm not a coffee connoisseur so I'll rate the coffee as decent and the pastry as just ok. read more

Overall It's different than most coffee shops, had a few bad experiences here, but also had a few good ones. First off they have great tasting espresso, and follow the classic recipes for espresso drinks, which is refreshing especially when ordering an americano. The things that bother me is the music, which at times can be calming and nice to study to, and at other times it can be belligerent blue grass country. There's typically a long line so it's not really a place you can run and grab a quick coffee, and the times when I've ordered just plain coffee it's been luke warm. Overall not my go to place for coffee, but more so a place I go to when I want a really good tasting espresso drink. read more

Stumbled on this place while walking around Davis streets. The almond milk latte that I got was warm, delicious and just enough almond milk. Temple is great anywhere you go. Consistently some of the best coffee in the Sacramento region. In Davis I used to go to Pachamama Coffee Roasters, but they moved the cafe to East Sacramento. Service is friendly here, but often it's very busy. Not many places to sit because college kids take all the spots. Coffee tastes great, as does the espresso drinks. Nice selection of pastries if you come early enough. Atmosphere is cozy, modern and clean. Probably the best coffee in Davis. Atmosphere 4/5 Service 4/5 Coffee 5/5 read more

This coffee is so good???? Like hello I'm shook. I needed coffee early in the morning driving up the mountains so I stopped in Davis before I got too far from civilization. They were open at 8am ON A SUNDAY MORNING!! And the best part???? They're open until 11pm!!! That's insane. I always want coffee late at night and no one is open but this place is!!!! So bomb, I get a regular iced coffee with a little but of sugar free vanilla and I'm so so happy. So glad my son chooses UC Davis, we had opportunities to discover this little gem in town. My husband and I started our day in California with Temple dripping coffee and finished our trip with cold brewed coffee with orange cream before heading back to east coast. Very well decorated interior, nice sitting area outside. Bright, clean and calm. The baristas are kind and welcoming. Coffee is so far the best coffee I ever tasted and pastries are good also, the sweetness is just perfect to my taste. Can't wait to come back next year! read more
