Vegan donuts at prices that will make you hate yourself just slightly more than them. Coffee and a donut? How does $9.50 sound? It's all really wonderful stuff. But dang, maybe invent new words to describe 'coffee' and 'donut' so that one doesn't feel like such a jerk for paying so much? Perhaps this is ultimately my fault.... read more

I asked for a cold brew with cherry cold foam & received a soda. It's very pretty inside the store, but I do not enjoy the current menu offerings. The coffee cake donut is pretty flavorless :( read more

Everything about this coffee house was Perfect!! My coffee was made right when I ordered and it was delicious. The perfect blend of taste, art to my eyes, delicious froth and caffeine to help my day. We actually drove back the next day just to have another... passing by several nice coffee houses and going a couple miles out of the way. So on the second visit, it was Sunday late morning, and we had a short wait which was perfectly normal and not too long. They could use more seating because it was full both inside and outside and most people were taking their order to go. We grabbed the last two spots and I was happy to find them. read more

Cute little shop that sells great coffee! I've heard quite a bit about this place from friends who attended UCD after I graduated. The shop itself is located in a prime spot downtown next to a Poke Shop by Bistro 33. There's ample seating and tables for people to stay and study/work. I got the nitro cold brew and it was one of the best cold brews I've ever had. It was smooth with a nice flavor, almost stout like. The barista was really nice and explained about the beans and offered suggestions should I come back. He really seemed to know his stuff! Of course, they have your regular coffees, lattes, teas and the sort. The baristas know latte art too! If you're hungry, they have small pastries for sale as well. Overall, a nice place for coffee. Definitely a step above your regular Starbucks. Good quality coffee with great baristas makes this place a go-to for coffee in the area. read more

Great coffee shop! Very bright, stylish, clean. Ample spots to sit and work/study. Friendly barista. I grabbed a cold jasmine green tea and it was DELICIOUS. read more

This is a really nice cafe in Davis. There are a handful of cafes in Davis that still look dusty and gross. It's refreshing to be in a cafe like Temple. I've been to their Sacramento location a couple years back. I got an iced tea the first time and a latte another time which was delicious. I really appreciate how early they open! One thing caught my eye the other day is that I saw a fly in the pastry box Will be back soon! read more

Temple Coffee - Interior - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Davis, California

The espresso drinks at Temple are amazing. I don't know how they do it, but the coffee flavor is creamy and vibrant and absolutely delicious. Sometimes after I get my oat milk latte, I sit on a stool for a few minutes just to savor the experience. I have been to all the coffee shops in Davis many times, and Temple is the best. read more

This place is so yummy! If you are in or around Davis this is the place to stop for a coffee break. The staff are super friendly and the coffee is so amazing! The Mexican mocha is absolutely perfect and not to sweet. Highly recommend! read more

Temple Coffee - 16 oz. Mexican Mocha - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Davis, California

I loved my matcha latte and the oolong teas are delicious. I really enjoy the staff here. They are wonderfully knowledgeable and quite attractive! Pro tip: If it is midterms and you look disheveled, go to Peet's instead. You are probably going to embarrass yourself coming in here. read more

coffee is decent, matcha is terrible. they premix their syrup (understandable) but use so little of it that it tastes just like milk. not worth 7.50. nice place to study though read more

I drink coffee all the time but it's hard to find creative baristas but most importantly coffee that tastes amazing. Loved their coffee.

Interior of the place is very nice and lovable. That's 2 stars. Let's discuss the coffee - it's a trash. Imagine Macdonalds, now imagine that workers forgot to throw away old filter with grounded coffee that have been used before and did another brew with it. Yes, it's burned.......taste like a .99 cents coffee in a gas station on interstate I-80 in middle of Nevada I would NOT give them the second chance. read more

This is the super sophisticated coffee spot right kinda sorta nearly in the downtown davis. Parking is street only which is a jekyll and hyde situation. Most mornings is easy, the afternoons start to get tight and in the late afternoons/evenings can be extremely difficult. Also note that the street parking while free, is time limited. If you plan to be here for more then a couple of hours have a plan to move thy vehicle or deal with the ticket. This is a modern large space with lots of light wood and natural lighting. Even though this is large space with lots of seating it will be packed when you arrive. The good news is that if the inside is full there will be a spot outside. The bad news is that the outside seating can be chilly and sometimes that's the only seating available. There will be lines at times as this is a really really popular spot. Sometimes it moves fast sometimes not but the service here is always spot on. the coffee is premuim. If you can afford it, this is a great spot for nitro, cappuchino, latte, etc. I'd recommend them over the plain cuppas with the caveat that you can get into the six seven dollar range with those , on choices made, which seems rather a lot for coffee even if it is perfect. Very much the elite coffee choice. read more

Temple is undeniably the best coffee shop in downtown Davis-- great vibes, good service, excellent quality drinks. Biggest downside...the PRICE!! $6.50 for a latte seems insane when similar quality coffees in other cities are priced at $5.50 MAX. I'm usually down to pay more for a good drink, but the inflated pricing really kills the experience. read more

Gorgeous interior and the music overhead added a stylish ambience to the place. I went for the main purpose of studying, and it was a decent place to do so (iirc with wifi, but though no outlets to be seen). Sadly overpriced though. read more

I love Temple Coffee! They have a beautiful layout and the most friendly staff members! I love their Kyoto slow drip coffee. Also, one of the staff members recommended the blueberry cinnamon scone, which was AMAZING. The only bad thing is that it seems to always be crowded and is a little difficult to study there due to the small countertops and noise. read more

Temple Coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Davis, California

This is usually my go-to spot for a premium cold brew... but no more. In the middle of the covid crisis, and as Yolo County has just introduced a mandatory face-covering rule... like all other customers I politely took my socially distant place in line. As I approached the bar, realized to my horror that the barista working the register / taking customer payment / making the final pour / handing you the mug... isn't wearing a mask. Are you serious!? I don't blame her, but I blame Temple management. Get your head out of your butt, and protect your workplace / your clientele. If they aren't taking this very basic step... what else are they cutting corners on? Are the workers having their temperatures taken? Are they being encouraged to stay home if they're feeling ill? I walked out, taking my business elsewhere. (Starbucks, by all appearances, is treating this very seriously.) read more

I went with a friend about a year ago & I regret not going here enough! I came with my fiancé last week. We both got iced mochas & pastries. It takes you to another level coffee wise! The taste is so unique & fulfilling, the pastries are fresh, & the vibes at Temple are so relaxing. This place is one of my safe havens in Sacramento. read more

TCR was a really cute place for me and my Aggie to have a quick coffee date. Packed with students and hipsters alike, the place features a long community table with backless wooden barstools placed just far apart enough that you don't feel uncomfortable sitting across from or next to a stranger. There are other private tables to select from but I'm guessing those naturally are taken faster than the community table. I really liked how full of light the place was because of the big windows seeing out into the hustle and bustle of Davis on a weekend. I ordered a chai latte. Certainly not the best I've tried but good enough for government work. I wish it was sweeter or had more depth of flavor. Great place to study, hang out and have some great coffee I'm sure. I can see why it was packed. read more

Had an oat milk latte and a muffin here this AM, was fantastic. Loved the vibe in the shop, staff all friendly. An overall excellent experience. Loved Davis in general. read more

AMAZING! Oh my God, you MUST try! If you are at all into coffee, Temple will be your new favorite! I've been a regular since I tried it for the first time a few months ago. It's genuinely the best coffee in all of Davis and Sac, the baristas are always SO nice and helpful (which is rare for the occupation nowadays), and pastries are sooo tasty too! Atmosphere is so calming too! Overall, AMAZING coffee, service, pastries, atmosphere, and everything else. It's a great place to study, enjoy a book by yourself, meet with friends, or anything else! read more

It's a nice place, that's for sure. Long story short: this place serves good coffee but it's a bit pricey. For me, I had a good experience at this cafe. It feels like a mixture of high-end/fancy and hipster. The ambiance is great and the whole place like one giant block of wood. If you can find an open chair to sit, this place would be good to study or have a chat while sipping on some coffee. I ordered the mocha and I was not disappointed. Although I wouldn't say their mocha was extraordinary, it was a decent drink and I would get it again if I wanted to impress a friend by going to a place like Temple. So overall, 4/5 stars because I'd come here again but minus 1 star because the drinks are just a little pricey. read more

This place has super high quality coffee, nice decor, and extremely friendly and helpful employees. I've gotten a latte every time I've gone, and it's always been great. The employees are super patient and excited to help-- I asked them about the Kyoto Drip and they gave me a small cup to try it out before ordering!! Also, I accidentally knocked over my coffee, broke the glass, and created mess the first time I went, but they were so kind and made me a new one right away! I felt horrible but they reassured me that it was okay! The only problems I have are the coffee is pretty pricey and the wifi is timed, so you can't stay and study here a whole day. Overall, I would highly recommend Temple if you're looking to try a solid cup of coffee!! (All my experiences were pre-covid!) read more

The only place in Davis with the best coffee AND the best customer service. You won't find any place else in Davis that compares.

First and last visit to Temple Coffee in Davis, CA. Coffee was good. Barrista admonished me with "Customers are not allowed behind the counter!!" when I bussed my table as I was leaving, and placed my cups 2 feet behind the counter. Very rude and abrupt. A kind and gentle "there is a place over here to put empty cups" would have been so much appreciated. I won't be going back - and I will let anyone who might listen know the reasons why. A little kindness goes a long way these days. There are other places to buy a cup of coffee in Davis. read more

I'm a huge fan of Temple's S Street shop, and I think the downtown location is great too. I've been to the Davis shop over 30 times now. Unfortunately, the Davis shop just doesn't compare well to the downtown and midtown locations. That said, it's still a light year ahead of Starbucks and Peet's, and it's way better than Mishka's, so if you're in "downtown" Davis, this is the place. Question for the Temple folks: are you training the staff in Davis last LE you train them in Sacramento? read more

I had heard good things about Temple from folk in Sacramento so I was glad to find this location in Davis Commons. I like that they are not a huge chain like Starbucks, but they have the infrastructure in place to offer their own roasted beans. They have a beautiful set-up although I'm sure certain people may find the long shared table an annoyance. I appreciate that the store is brightly lit and that they offer 3 hours worth of complimentary wifi. I ordered one of the pour overs, which cost me $5.50 but didn't taste super discernible to me. I couldn't taste the different aromas it claimed to have, but I still enjoyed the coffee and the way it was presented in a pot. My mom's only gripe was that there was only half and half available and no honey for her coffee. I wish they had a bigger selection of pastries, but they do have a decent variety of gluten free and regular baked goods. Mom and I went with their blueberry muffin which was a bit dry in my opinion but not bad. read more

Just passing through Davis from Sacramento and needed to find a coffee place that was quality. Cool atmosphere (good AC too) and would come here again when in town. Friendly staff, very clean, looks like a good place to study as well. read more

Decent coffee. Nothing to write home about. $6.50 though for a small. Good grief!!! Wasn't even really worth dropping in with those prices.

This is my first time stopping in at this location. Parking was easy since it was the holidays and downtown was pretty dead. If I was in the area for longer I would have enjoyed just hanging out at the cafe. The service was quick, easy, and very friendly. There was also a sample of one of their seasonal blends which smelled delicious. The latte was on point as usual. They also had an oat milk matte that looked inviting (next time). They were just down to cookies so I didn't get a chance to sample any pasties. read more

Don't write good reviews often enough .... normally when I'm ticked off ... ran in here yesterday on my way back from Sac. Just a medium latte with Oat. That was 1st mistake; all I could taste was the oat milk .. (normally get small..) anyway, just paid and ran. Looking at my receipt, that drink was $8.00 with the 1.00 tip. Gosh, who the heck has that kind of disposable income for a drink ? Just wow. Not even a muffin thrown in. Guess I'm behind the times, but that is a crazy expensive price. Never again.. what a ridiculous habit. read more

I came in the other evening and tried their new ginger snap latte. My barista was this young woman with beautiful orange hair and tatted up, and she made it with the best latte art i've seen. the only problem i would have was that my wait was a tad long, but i could tell they were obviously down a barista or two. still 5 stars tho because i know that's not really their fault. read more

My favorite latte in Davis, hands down. Especially paired with a croissant! Went back for the first time since I moved away and it is very pricey (more than $5 for a latte!) but nevertheless, delicious. As others have said, their cold brew is a bit different than other places, and I don't love it, but to each their own. The space is beautifully designed, though it can get crowded when school is in session. Great service, too! read more

Best coffee in Davis, and a great place to work, study or read. Loved my cappuccino and the decaf americano hit the spot!

Super friendly service and excellent coffee and tea. This is a friendly and great place to work. Really clean, loads of natural light, and many seats. The only downsides: very few outlets, it gets fairly loud (so hard for online meetings), and the counter/desk space is quite narrow. Overall this is a great cafe in downtown Davis. read more

Truly in the style of third wave coffee shops, Temple is a brightly lit, thoughtfully adorned coffee shop selling staple coffee pour overs and espresso beverages. The space is beautiful and quite hip, if I do say so myself. To combat the warm weather, I ordered an iced latte which was standard, not standout; the espresso flavor barely came through all of the milk (also my bad for ordering a latte). I appreciate the large range of freshly roasted coffee beans as well as coffee brewing tools and merchandise for sale. I'm like a kid in a candy store when it comes to coffee related goods. The baristas were also very knowledgeable and amiable about the beans and brews. There was a sample of a Columbian that was also available, which I haven't seen other coffee spots do so that was nice. Goodness knows when I'll be back in Davis, but when I am I shall definitely give Temple another try. read more

Decided to try Temple's latte. First of all, it was really aesthetic and I thought it was good. The coffee used was good. My friend ordered a hot chocolate which also sounded good. But if I saw correctly, I'm pretty sure they just took chocolate milk from a falling jug and heated it up. I wasn't expecting that at all. My boyfriend ordered the espresso with their new strawberry blend and he said it was pretty good (close to Blue Bottle quality). The one thing I didn't like about Temple is that the seating arrangement and seats didn't provide a very comfortable atmosphere/environment. read more
