I want to say first that the car buying process when I purchased my vehicle in 2019 was very long and tiring but easy. The salesmen were very helpful and knowledgeable. Anytime I have brought my car in to have an oil change or anything like that it has been a very pleasant experience. However a few years now have passed and when calling and interacting with the staff at this dealership the staff on the phone are extremely rude intentionally. This makes me not want to purchase a vehicle from a dealership any longer. I dont have the patience to educate this staff on customer service and how that can impact the relationship. I will be a buyer of only privately sold cars going foward. read more

Dropped to one star, zero if I could. Cannot schedule an appointment over the phone without some virtual assistant will not give you a real person. Next step is to use the website which does not work either - Completely, totally USELESS!! read more

Austin was great and I'm lucky to have worked with him. He is the furthest thing from a greasy car salesman. He was quick, upfront, professional, and friendly. He didn't make me feel badly about not knowing basic things. He explained things very thoroughly and told me about next steps before he did them. He was patient when I was indecisive and wanted to discuss the deal with others on the phone. And he introduced me to the dealership's insurance agent. I'm very happy with his customer service and my new Honda! read more

I had a great experience buying a new Honda Civic from Tempe Honda recently. I was able to get a full estimate via text and email which made coming in to buy the car super easy. Their salespeople are knowledgeable and friendly. It was definitely NOT a high pressure sales situation at all. I was in and out with my new car in less than 2 hours. (I've also had many oil changes done by their service department with my previous car and never had a problem. Easy booking online. Reasonable rate. I'm sure you could find cheaper but I've had issues with some of the cheap oil change stores. Tempe Honda's shuttle service makes it easy for me to get back to work and then come pick up my car when they're done.) read more

This dealership is very unprofessional. I was there for over 40 minutes and not one person approached me or asked if I needed help I stood at the front desk for 10 minutes. Nobody came, and nobody approached me so I sat at the table and waited for someone to come available so that I could test drive a vehicle and possibly purchase one when I called the manager she stated typically when somebody says done it means that they were already helped. Very unprofessional in my point of you. I will not go back to this dealership even someone came in and he was approached by two different people for help yet still, I sat there for 40 minutes nobody came by or even asked if I needed help. read more

5 stars to Tempe Honda service department! I was able to get a same day appointment through their online scheduling system. Sam and his team were friendly and helpful. I was beyond impressed (and so grateful) when they were able to make a small repair without charging me- saving me hundreds by avoiding a replacement. They even returned my car all washed and ready to go. I would recommend! read more

I left a review that was pretty scathing but now that it's been a couple of days I feel much better and the car is fantastic. It just had a couple of problems and I kind of forgot that I bought a used car not a new car. I love the car either way. read more

February 2021 update: no post maintenance on my Civic's unit has been done since I posted the original review. Cold air is still blowing and no other issues. My other Honda (2011 Pilot) recently needed an oil change and because of how Tempe Honda handled my last visit, I decided to take my vehicle to AutoNation Honda instead. After the oil change and review of my vehicle, AutoNation Honda told me my Pilot was 100% good to go. Which is completely different than what the report Tempe Honda gave me on the Pilot's last oil change. Their list contained hundreds of dollars worth of services and repairs. Tempe Honda Service Center seems to be after people's money and will go about it by lying about what your vehicle really needs. read more

Do not go to this Honda. Every time I go there's an issue. Last time they broke my windshield and made me go through my own insurance to get it covered. Today I tried to get an oil change and they said my oil life had to be at 15% for it to be covered under Honda. Called another Honda and they said 20%. Tempe Honda could not provide a document that said anything about percentages. It honestly feels personal and idk if it's because I am a woman or what. Additionally, I have multiple recalls on my vehicle. They said they could work on one recall but not the other. If I can't go to Honda for recalls who am I supposed to go to???? I spoke to Miguel and Antonio the manager who of course sided with each other on the issue. I've never waited for my oil life to get to 15% so not sure how it was covered before. They were busy so maybe they just didn't want to have the extra work today. But I booked online a week ago. So they should have been prepared. It's aggravating when all I'm trying to do is take good care of my vehicle that I spent a good deal of money on. I'm honestly so tired of Honda. read more

Went in for a second opinion on my 2000 Honda Civic LX. I ended up working with Fernando in the service department. He was incredibly kind and helpful. He was honest about the fact that my car wouldn't be worth it to repair. I appreciate the honesty and transparency. I would recommend this place 10/10. read more

I WILL NEVER be shopping or getting serviced at this establishment. The staff is horrible and rude to women. This establishment has allowed their salesmen to laugh and make fun of there CUSTOMERS. He told my PREGNANT friend A FEW DAYS AFTER SHE BOUGHT HER CAR. That she was at the dealer ship to collect child support from her baby daddy, and proceeded to ridicule her amongst a group of men! When she told the managers all they did was offer her a $19.95 oil change ! I recommend ladies stay away from this location NOT A SAFE ZONE!! read more

Their customer relations manager told me to contact their email on yelp. I contacted them a little over 3 months ago and never received a response. This is how it's been since I bought the truck a little bit under a year and a half ago. I post a review and they tell me to contact them to save face and obviously make themselves look better on platforms like yelp. But it's only to make themselves look better in the public eye, they don't actually care that they sold me a truck where the paint flaked off. They won't do anything about it or even acknowledge any semblance of responsibility. They just want to ensure they don't lose future customers while continuing to prey on them to exploit the most money out of them at any cost - including selling them a lemon. Please do yourself a favor and don't go here, there are far better dealers in the area. read more

After requesting an online quote for my vehicle and listing everything wrong with it (only minor cosmetic issues), I received a firm amount rather than a range as I had received from other dealerships. Tempe Honda was more convenient, so I made an appointment to come in for them to purchase my vehicle. Total bait and switch! Suddenly, they could only give me $2000 less. Don't waste your time dealing with this kind of treatment. If they can't give you the amount they say, they should provide a range like other places. I wouldn't trust them to even do an oil change. This place is a disgrace to the Honda name. read more

This review is for their service department. The few times I have needed to visit their shop have always been pleasant, but this last time really stuck out to me, hence this review. Our family recently inherited a vehicle and were taking it to their shop for the first time because there happened to be recall. What really stood out to me was the level of customer service I received from everyone I interacted with after I needed to retrieve the vehicle. It was a holiday weekend so they were slammed as is when I dropped off at open, and it was then that I learned that it would probably take all day as opposed to the prior 2 hours quote I got on the phone a few days before, but no biggie. Again they seemed busy. I got a ride home. Later, when our car was ready towards the end of the business day, I went to pick it up and after driving it off the lot I thought I heard a new noise. So I took it back. Again, this is about 5pm or past which is when they closed this day. I explained what I had heard to my sales advisor (Sam I believe) and he said no problem, they'd take it back and double check everything. Waited 10 or so minutes and was then greeted by my advisor and the technician (Raul) that serviced the vehicle to do a test drive. I thought this was amazing, truly. Taking the time to have the technician ride with me to confirm potential issues. I was blown away. I don't know how common that is, but I really appreciated it. Long story short, he explained how that noise was there prior and I honestly think he was correct because the vehicle was newer to me anyway and I may have been off my hinges haha... Here's the point- after we got back from the drive, and we still heard the noise, he took the car back into the shop again. To be safe. Came back out another 15 or so minutes later with a senior technician (John I think) to, what I thought was, very thoroughly explain the sounds I was hearing which were definitely there before. It was complex stuff that I really appreciated they took the time AFTER closing to explain to me what was going on with the vehicle. Then, the sales advisor was still there to help give me quotes for the jobs the senior technician was talking about. I like this place. I don't know if everyone will always get that level of professionalism and attention to detail every time they go to their service department, but I will be going there as long as I'm in the valley because that is class. Thank you. read more

Tempe Honda, I have used them before and the service was great. I paid my car off and wanted to look at a new car. I was up front about my credit score as well as zero down and $500 A month. I'm waiting for someone to tell there is $2000 down I don't have $2000. I wrote back to see if they could work with me on deductible. Heard nothing wrote back the person helping me left. I was mad. Owner wrote asked best way to contact me. That was 3 days ago. I heard nothing. read more

In spite of a previous bad experience, circumstances led me back to Tempe Honda. This was a much better experience, maybe because of my service advisor, David Hudson. I was able to get the maintenance finished in a timely manner. Then had to go get new tires for a long trip and he got me in for a second appointment for an alignment late in the day. My price also came in under what I was originally quoted. Overall a good visit. read more

Went to dealership to possibly purchase a '23 Pilot on 6/25/23 after laying some ground work over the phone with Jordan Sanchez. Once we arrived we were greeted by Jordan. The process went quite smoothly and I/we did not feel pressured or taken advantage of! We walked out approx 3 hours later (deal made and paperwork completed) with a 2023 Honda Pilot! Prior to making this deal I spoke to 17-20 other sales people at 5-7 different dealerships and it felt like they were all trying to take advantage of me!!! That was not going to happen! Alright, I bought a 2013 Honda Civic from them 2 years ago. Was it a little overpriced? Yeah, but I was 19 and more naive or whatever. It was fine and I got a good and reliable car at a good rate. A week ago I went in to sell the car back and the absolute best they could do was 9 grand. I said nah I want 9.6, which is better than a good price anyways. I figured that because I bought my lease through them they could just take it off my hands easily. The sales guy was a jerk. Just hands down an uncomfortably cold and straightforward guy. Then the manager comes in and bashes me for asking more than 9k. Saying, "What are you gonna do? Drive all over the valley to every dealership for the best deal" like a total ass. I said awkwardly "I'll sell the car on Craigslist". I put up an ad when I got home and within 6 minutes I had a family contact me to look at and test drive the car. I sold it for 10 grand the same day. read more

We were so impressed by the service department at Tempe Honda. Sam Barroso is our service advisor. He correctly diagnosed the problem involving our dash display and crackling noise. This repair was covered under warranty for our 2019 Pilot. He also suggested that we do our 30K check up soon. He was never pushy. So we decided to go ahead and have this done. We were impressed with how quickly this got done. We liked that we paid for this service directly at Sam's desk. The service department at Tempe Honda is so well run! We will never go back to our old Honda dealer! read more

The team can't seem to tell the difference between a co-borrower & a guarantor so now I have a business lease on my personal credit. Co-borrower: If you are a co-borrower the loan will most likely report to your personal credit report. This will affect things like your debt to income ratio and other items if you attempt to attain credit personally. Guarantor: As a guarantor, you are pledging that if the business does not repay the loan you personally will make sure the loan is paid. This would be considered a contingent liability to you personally but not report to your credit report. read more

We just got our brand new Honda CRV Hybrid from Tempe Honda! It was honestly the best new car purchase experience we have ever had. The customer service was impeccable. They went WAY above and beyond to take good care of us. The transition out of our old car, which we traded in, was seamless. A very special thanks to Todd Chmelka, the GM, who went out of his way to personally take care of us. I would give 10 stars if possible. Bought a brand new 2021 sport accord earlier this year put 10k down on it. took the car in for maintenance when needed and about 3 times a month I received an error message on my dashboard. Let the maintenance guys know to check everything and every time they told me my car was fine.(part of me feels like they just changed my oil and never did a full inspection like I asked) My vehicle was not accelerating this weekend on the freeway which put me in danger. I pay way to much money for a car to have it be breaking on me. Very disappointed in the service and the lack of response I have received from this dealership. I sold my car to Toyota, had to get a USED car and I lost the 10k I put down. it's utterly frustrating that I had to lose out on my money that I l worked so hard for a car that gave me issues within a year the accord only had 12,000 miles. Tempe Honda does not take care of their customers they are just looking for a sale. I would not recommend buying from here. read more

We were looking to test drive an accord touring, found a guy in the parking lot who seemed clueless about where the accords were so he said he'd send someone who knows about them to help us. Then we waited and waited. Peter came out to "help" us, well, when we asked what's the difference between '19 and '20 he said "none, it's the same car". Really?! '20 has a different engine for starters!! He seriously didn't offer us a single fact about either year. So then we said we wanted to test drive one, he went to get the keys and disappeared for at least 20 min. I was ready to walk away at that point but the hubby still wanted to test drive it. Finally he came back, we walked half a mile across the lot just to discover he brought the keys to a Civic. We turned around and left never to come back. Went down the road and bought a Mazda. Good service there! PS: please do not call us with "follow ups", we are really not interested! read more

No Quick Oil Change Here! I don't know anyone all of you but my time is valuable and I don't want to spend 90 minutes to 2 hours waiting for an "express oil change"! They say it's because of the inspection and time consuming process. I usually change my own oil and it takes me 15 minutes but it's so hot out right now I thought we would bring it in... It's easier to do it yourself.... People need to prioritize the quick lube idea here! read more

The only thing I love more than my Honda, is my Honda dealership, Tempe Honda. I've had my Civic Si for six years now. And because I've lived in at least three corners of the valley, I've taken my car to three different Honda dealers. Each is good in their own respects, but Tempe Honda is by far the best! This is a Penske owned dealership and it shows. The customer service is consistently excellent. My service advisor today, Dennis, was super nice and nailed the time estimate for my service. He predicted about 90 minutes. I was back in my car ten minutes ahead of his estimate. And to clarify, Dennis has been the person I've dealt with on previous visits. He clearly loves his job and it shows. Here is a real simple test to determine if the dealer you're currently taking your ride to is jerking you around. If you take your car in for say an oil change, is it the same price every time? If not, ask yourself why? It's just an oil change. The prices actually fluctuated quite a bit at the other two dealerships over the years I was going there. And then ask yourself if you get hassled by salesmen. It's ZERO pressure at Tempe Honda. For the record, I can change my own oil. Just not with my Si because I don't have ramps low enough for my ride to get on. For this reason and many others, I will happily continue going to Tempe Honda. read more

I am writing to share my experiences in regards to the level of service I have received from Kevin Tressel over the past few years. Before I begin, I would like to share that I've been a customer of Tempe Honda for the better part of 5+ years even though I live in North Scottsdale. I had a few rather negative experiences with Right Honda and after reading the reviews for this dealership I decided that it was well worth the commute. After looking back and reflecting upon that decision I can say that I've been very satisfied overall with Tempe Honda. Kevin has been my personal service manager for most of my time spent working with Tempe Honda. He has always gone above and beyond to help provide me with excellent and professional service. He's promptly responded to any emails or calls I have made which I have appreciated greatly. There is no doubt that I consider him to someone that I trust wholeheartedly with my Accord as he has shown time and time again to have my best interests in mind. Employees like Kevin should be commended for their efforts. I'm sure everyone has had a variety of different experiences with customer service reps working for different companies that has been lackluster, this has never been my experience with Kevin. Thank you Kevin!!! read more
