I bought a very-nice used 2014 Honda Accord from a neighbor, Called AutoNation Honda, Gilbert & Chapman Honda, Tucson, several times over a month, to ask a Service Rep. a question about the CVT transmission & then to make an appointment.... THEY Both Wanted my 1st.-born-son, just to talk to a SR and ask a question. Then I called Tempe Honda, asked the same question and the nice receptionist put me right through to service-rep who answered my questions, I Made an appointment for AM next day. I arrived on time, the service-rep again answered all my questions, took my car to technicians who inspected it, returned it washed within just over an hour. Explained how it had constant service-per its CarFax. TEMPE HONDA gets ***** + For COMMUNICATION Expertise... Deserving of Recognition I couldn't be more pleased by a dealership. DO NOT COME HERE‼‼‼They treat you so nice at the beginning but they only do it because it benefits them... I recently bought a car from Gage Williams and Christian and 2 weeks later it started overheating so I took it to get checked out and they said that the reason it was overheating was because of the heat outside... that was BS so I took it somewhere else and they found all kinds of things wrong with my car. They ended up charging me close to 3k for all the repairs and Honda did NOT want to reimburse me even though it was their fault and have all the paperwork to prove it. They sold me a car with problems and did NOTHING to help me out. F this place, they are full of it. Be careful because they will fool you. They will absolutely not answer your texts or calls when you need them, it's not worth it... 0 stars if I could read more

EFRON the service director just called me to tell me that because I left his department a 0 for a review that my brand new car is no longer wanted to bring to them for service when they are responsible for the warranty work. This is completely disrespectful and now all your future clients will know to never trust your service department or Todd the gm in sales who will sell you lemon after lemon then allow or tell his staff to drive your car on rough roads destroying your new rims then sticks up for the service advisor who no longer works there. I've been doing business with Tempe Honda since late 2004 when I purchased a 2005 Honda Pilot. By the time I sold it its odometer read 498,460 miles. My next Tempe Honda was a 2016 CrV. I put 168,000 miles on it. I got it with AWD so I'd be able to go off road with it. It was a little too low to the ground though so just before Christmas last year I got a 2020 Honda CrV. It's the 2020 model that I'm leaving a review for. It has features that, frankly, I don't need or, really, want. The camera by the rear view mirror for example. Off road it's worth zip to me. I have had some near misses (accidents) driving towards Gila Bend when the car wants to steer left at the same time as opposing traffic drifts into my lane. I understand I can disable the feature but it's a hassle having to do it every time. I mention this because I felt the finance guy pushing me to buy expensive service contracts that my gut tells me I don't need given the reliability I've experienced owning four Hondas since 2004. The guy who sold me the car was really good. He got us, my wife and I, in and out within 90 minutes. I'm a bit leery about being in public spaces during the pandemic so that was a great experience not being there too long. I took the car back a few weeks ago to get the front windshield treated per the sales agreement. That was a great experience, too. I was in and out in less than an hour. What has me miffed about it is their finance guy. When I got my '16 CrV I bought gap insurance. When I paid the car off in December I mentioned it to the guy. I remember the previous finance person saying if I paid the car off early I could get a refund on the unused gap insurance. So when I was at the dealer last month getting the windshield worked on I tried reaching the finance guy to give him a copy of the 2016 Honda's title showing no liens. I wanted to give him a copy of the lender's letter stating the loan had been paid in full. In the end, via email, I was able to provide the documents last month. I have heard zip from him since. No emails. No phone calls. My family and I have purchased four Hondas, two CrVs, an Accord and a Civic. Maybe it's the pandemic that's caused the slip in customer service from their finance department. I hope that's all it is. I love going out into the desert in my CrV and taking photos of trains and saguaros. What I don't like is the feeling of being left behind by the finance guy. read more

They lied about pricing then feigned not knowing about any deal. They conned me. The unscrupulous sales guy and desk guy are typical car guy con men: Lie to the customer, get him in, and close hard with lies and "not knowingness." ZERO STARS They knew I needed car (my dad just died 2 weeks prior to me buying and i needed a car out here) so they just flat out lied about the price. I had to have the car so I paid out the additional $1500 they didn't know the desk guy quoted me (Timmy, Kenny, something ridiculous like that). It's a ruse, these car guys and their desk guys. Tempe Honda FAILED and lied. I hope those people who ripped me off sleep well but I'd surmise they have terrible lives knowing full well they con people. ZERO STARS. read more

I am specifically reviewing their Service Department. We have owned many Hondas and currently have 2 (a 2018 and a 2009.) First, they recently remodeled their location and it's very welcoming; from a comfortable waiting area, with plenty of TVs, a kid's room and work stations, to free bottled water and snacks and a coffee machine. Additionally, they will drop you off and pick you up within a 10 mile radius (Rick, one of the drivers, is great to converse with!) Unfortunately, the service associates I've dealt with have been underwhelming. This wasn't the case 5 years ago, but now the associates show you no sympathy. I brought the 2018 Civic in for a warning letter stating that a portion of the A/C system may need to be replaced and because the A/C was not blowing as cold, I thought that the warning letter was the reason the A/C wasn't working correctly. Sadly enough, I was informed by the service associate that the A/C unit was actually failing (which wasn't covered by the letter mailed out by Honda USA) and that replacement would cost over $1,700! I mentioned to the associate that A/C failure this early in the car's lifespan is unheard of and he simply said 'sorry' and asked if I wanted to pay for the fix. I ended up taking that issue to Honda USA and they graciously picked up the tab to replace the A/C unit and I only ended up having to pay $59. I did have to continue working with the same service associate that had initially quoted me $1,700 and he didn't once apologize for not offering to work with Honda USA on my behalf nor suggest I contact corporate to plead my case. This past weekend, I brought the 2008 Accord in because my power steering pump was leaking. The service associate told me that I had to accept a $150 inspection fee that does NOT go towards the cost of any repairs (meaning that this is a $150 tax on top of whatever costs are quoted for the actual repair work!) For the sake of convenience, I agreed to the $150 surcharge, but I am done with Tempe Honda's Service Department. I've had no issue with the quality of the work, but they've priced themselves out of a longstanding customer, plus their service associates couldn't care less about how much money you spend. I asked the associate to knock some money off the $950 bill to fix the power steering pump, replace the drive belt and change the oil and he knocked off $50. *TIP* The convenience of this place being open M-Sat along with the free shuttle is very tempting. If you can, I suggest taking your car to a reliable private shop (Choice Auto near ASU is great.) Of course this means that you'll either have to wait while your car is worked on or figure out a way to get to work/home and most private shops are closed on Saturday, but you'll save yourself money and hopefully send a message to Tempe Honda to stop their $150 surcharge shenanigans! read more

This dealer is either wildly unorganized or deliberately deceptive, couldn't say which. I'm giving the dealer 2 stars on the chance that my experience is the result of confusion, which is a problem. But better than the alternative. My wife and I visited the dealership lately about a used CRV . We took a test drive, liked the car, and eventually agreed to a price, including a trade-in. The salesman came back with purchase paperwork and that's when it all unraveled. Specifically, the salesman represented the car as certified, which of course provides peace of mind and extended warranties. When I read the CarFax report closely, though, things just didn't add up, for a car described as a single owner vehicle with no problems. Eventually, the used car manager appeared to explain what was going on, and he admitted that the car *wasn't* certified - that it wasn't worth the cost to certify it. Obviously, we called off the deal, wondering what *else* we hadn't been told. All this after a solid 2 hours of the usual "let me see what I can push for with my manager" pricing nonsense. I understand that inducing buyer exhaustion is a part of the used car sales strategy, but this was excessive. The salesman explained it as an honest mistake, and tried to salvage things by offering a '22 model for a "bargain" price, but by then we were done, and left. Very disappointed. I've owned multiple Hondas in the past and like the product. They deserve better representation. read more

Terrible service department, dropped my car off 4pm the day before for an 8:30 am appointment the next day. Started calling my service advisor around noon and leaving messages with no response. I arrived about 15 minutes early for my oil change appointment to be schooled in the difference in the advertised price for that service vs getting the car back. About $30. I was in a hurry and was willing to eat that. Then I was told they could not get to my car for another 2+ hours. I asked the highly smarmy gentleman assisting me why they bothered making appointments if they could not honor them. I was given a corporate-speak answer that it had to do with customer convenience. A business not keeping appointments and lying about its price schedule is not my definition of convenient. Or even ethical. I won't step foot in this establishment again. read more

BEWARE!! DO NOT buy from this unethical Dealership!!! If I could give a ZERO star I would. This Dealership especially takes advantage of Senior Citizens. W made the mistake of buying a 2019 CRV from these untrustworthy people. I paid over 30K an 8k downpayment , I still owed 30K after all their Dealership fees. ( you're not aware of this because they give you a "thumb drive " not paperwork that you can look through and read before you leave the Dealership) .... "Tempe Honda" ate up the down payment in inflated, ridiculous Dealership fees. "Tempe Honda" works hard to cheat their ( victims) buyers!! Also, they claimed my car was "Certified" ...which means nothing! They do NOT put their cars through any pre-check for any issues. they tell you huge lies to sell you a car..beware!!! My car's battery died within 30 days of purchase. I called the Dealership for help..they refused to replace by battery. That was another $275 out of my pocket on a new battery. Also tires were worn more than 60% , I'll have to replace soon. "Tempe Honda" will rush you through the buying process... pushing you to "quickly" click through (on a glass table top computer) ..without understanding what you're signing!!! That's their strategy ... to "take advantage of buyers"... this should be a crime ...Disgusting !!! Run!!! If you buy from "Tempe Honda" have the car checked out completely before buying!! Ask questions...understand all the Dealership fees and paperwork before buying.. !!! read more

First off I will say we have purchased multiple cars from Tempe Honda and always got our vehicles serviced here but not anymore. We took our 26 Passport in for it's first service. On the way home we noticed our dash came was unplugged. We got home and tried to plug it in but the pin inside the unit was broken and not fixeable. We drove 45 minutes back to the dealership and spoke with the service manager Antonio Cazarez. After explaining what we found, he told us that they unplug dash cams due to them being a libability, like the review a few months back where employees were talking about the customer. He took our vehicle back to the service, came back and told us that we broke it. I offered to have him watch the video from the SD card that showed that the dash cam worked when we brought it in and no longer did when we left, however, he did not want to hear it. He was rude, condescending, and continuously talked over us. When I told him that his customer service was horrible, he told me so I'm I. He finally agreed to replace it but never apologized or took accountibility for the situation. It was one of the worst customer service experience we have ever been apart of. The service director Efrain, emailed a couple of days later with the tracking number and the new dashcam came the next day. I emailed Efrain back twice to confirm if our differintial fluid was changed as part of our service like it was supposed to and got zero response! We live 45 minutes away from Tempe Honda and even though there are two closer dealerships we almost went to this dealership. I hope a $260 dash cam was worth losing a long term customer. I'm not sure why any business would want a 'service manager' like Antonio talking with customers the way he did with us. read more

I came here to get a second opinion, I was greeted by Fernando Salazar he was very knowledgeable and informative. I expressed my concerns due to my last service I had a couple of days ago at another Honda dealership. After doing the inspection Fernando said I only needed my brake fluid exchanged and nothing else like the other dealership had mentioned. He said I don't know what car they were looking at but you don't need anything else done but that one service. I was very pleased with him and the integrity of everyone here at Tempe Honda, Since there was six different "problem areas" reported by the last dealership which two of those I had just replaced last week and that's when I questioned the integrity of Showcase Honda. Fixing the supposedly parts and services I needed would have cost me a lot of money to fix and they were obviously unnecessary items. This will definitely be the place to get my Honda Accord serviced from now on. read more

Took car in for battery. Said I needed more repairs. Car returned now squealing, a TPMS warning light is on and what looks like an oil leak by the tire. Took it back and they checked it out said nothing was wrong (I didn't tell them about the leak, didn't discover until after). Called managers and left messages but no one calls back. The service was horrible from beginning to end. I had an appointment set and drove up and was told that it could take up to 4 hours to get an oil change. Then I was told there was no shuttle as it stopped running at like 4pm and my appointment was at like 2pm. I decided that I would actually not bother with the oil change and go to another dealership praying it would be a different experience as this was my first Honda in over 10 years and was alarmed that I would have to endure this same service every 3 months. I drove back and after after waiting for a bit I asked the manager if he was aware of this experience, if Honda management was aware, why their appointments stop at 4:30pm when most people work until 5pn. The manager told me that he was aware, management/owners were aware, there are no options to extend hours or communicate shuttle hours. He told me that this is how it is every Friday and Saturday. I ended up driving 30 minutes to the Chandler Auto Nation (I live 2 minutes from the Tempe location) by the way. This was actually my first service with Honda as I bought my car in August. I will defiantly NOT be scheduling my service appointments with Tempe Honda as it sounds like this is a recurring issue and it is a shame that Honda allows this type of poor customer service be associated with their brand. Service is very important almost more important than the brand. It's a time investment and I'm not sure over 6 years you can recoup the headache and time for service. Was so disappointed in this location and Honda for allowing this. Makes me think twice about buying another Honda. read more

I was shopping around for a car and had been to a couple of dealerships around town, but this was the only one that actually worked with me. Other dealerships did not lower their price on their online price but this one did. They also kept their word when it came to servicing which meant a lot. They seem like the most sincere dealership, even if they are trying to sell you something (which is their job), they are still looking out for you and will work with you. The perfect balance at a dealership. I got the exact car I wanted at the price I thought was fair, thank you Tempe Honda! Kudos to Blake, Harry, and Christian! As for their service department excellent again, what was estimated as a 1 hour and 30 minute wait time ended up being 45 minutes. Let me start off by saying my family has done business with this Honda for years. The service and communication were excellent, but lately the service has been less than acceptable. My husband has also been doing business with this Honda for years and in June he was in an accident. Unfortunately, his beloved civic hatchback was totaled. Our family was growing at the time so he decided to get an HRV. Recently, he was told there was a recall on it for the steering and the recall warned about potential loss of steering. This is something we wanted to fix immediately seeing that we primarily drive our infant in that car. He calls in to set up the appointment to have the recalled parts replaced and the lady on the phone told him Wednesdays are usually the days where he could get his car back sooner. Ok, great, let's do this Wednesday (today). He drives all the way there and they tell him there are no parts for the replacement and that he should have been calling every day leading up to the appointment to see if there were parts available. Excuse me?! What a complete waste of time driving all the way there, thinking there are parts ready (because WHY would they still keep the appointment if parts aren't available?!) and then being told this. How is Honda so incapable of a common courtesy call to say "hey we're sorry but we'll need to reschedule to a day when we have the parts". This is not a big ask, this is common sense. Absolutely ridiculous that Honda cannot communicate in the simplest way. Not to mention the fact that now we are worried about driving the vehicle, especially every time our infant is in the car. This is a safety concern and I am extremely disappointed in this dealership's decline in service and communication. We will be going elsewhere to do business in the future. read more

Do yourself a favor and don't use their online service process. We ordered tires in advance as we were headed out of town next weekend and everything on their website confirmed stock of the tires and schedule availability and when we arrived, two hours into the service they tell us the tires aren't available. A gentleman next to my husband said he overheard our issue and had the same problem last year and ended up getting his tires elsewhere. Another time I came here for warranty service but I had purchased our car at another dealership. They said they ordered all the parts the weekend of but couldn't get warranty approval and that I had to see if I could transfer the warranty to their dealership. I ended up going to the dealership of original purchase but they were hoping to purchase the parts straight out from the Tempe dealership to expedite time, low and behold, they never had the parts like I was told. Update: The dealership provided us with an Uber ride home on their dime, and told us they were going to give us another set of tires that they had in stock, and at the price of our original tires.
