Dallas skyline booth

Very cool 2D concept. Woah, calm down Yelp. Why are so many people hating on this place? I walked in here on a Friday with no reservation and the restaurant was empty! Yelp is doing y'all dirty. Restaurant offers valet service for $10. There was seating outside and inside. The restaurant has a big open window that looks outside. Very cute 2D concept with a Parisian feel. Love all the details by the artist of the Dallas skyline and throughout. Slight pop of color with a flower added to the table. Decent size sushi bar with bar seating where you can see the sushi chefs at work. I'm big on minimal design and love this look. Came here during happy hour from 4:30-6:30PM. We ordered the tuna poke, chicken karage, miso, and tonkatsu ramen. For the temakis, we ordered the California, salmon, shrimp tempura, and yellowtail. I also ordered the Mai Temaki Tai drink. The temakis were served on 2D plates which I thought was cool. They were on the smaller size. Well at least I came during happy hour but it probably would have been too much if I was to pay full prices. I was really surprised how much everything added up which did sting a little bit, but I thought it was worth coming here and part of the experience. That's what you pay for. Everything tasted great. My drink was yummy. The service was great. I would bring my friends here so they could check it out. As we were picking up our car, the valet driver held the passenger door for me until I was done buckling my child which took a good 5 min. I thought that was nice.

If I spend $80 on a meal, I don't typically leave hungry, but that was not the case here. Temakeria is definitely an instagrammable restaurant, but it's overpriced considering the portions they serve. The concept of the temaki is really cool, but $7-10 for ONE (1/4 piece of nori with toppings) is obscene. Also, the 2D cake is $20 PER SLICE! We ordered the spicy edamame but didn't finish or take it to-go because it wasn't that good. While the cake was tasty, I wouldn't go back for any of the food. It's less of a meal and more of an overpriced snack - my group wound up going to the dumpling place across to fill up after.

Pork gyoza with an amazing skirt- so good!

I don't think any of the negative reviews are deserved. The decor is fabulous, service was friendly and prompt and all of the dishes we tried were delicious. Yes, it is definitely pricey, those little dishes add up fast, but I feel like everything in Dallas is crazy expensive these days. The edamame was charred and salted, so good! Loved all the temaki rolls, loved the gyoza and loved the poke nachos. If we lived closer, we'd return more often.

I had really high expectations for this place and was sadly disappointed by my experience. came here with 2 friends, and we had such a struggle finding the entrance. there's no signage anywhere around the building by the parking lot - it's on the back side by the art installations, all the way on the end of the building. the whole 2d effect isn't really translated well with human eyes. the black lines were scuffed and looked like they were drawn with sharpie. it's like, kind of cute if you don't pay attention? lol the food was mediocre. I'm not sure what I expected from a sushi place in the middle of Texas but the fish wasn't flavorful and lacked color. it was crazy expensive for a single hand roll, and the quality definitely didn't match. you can get better fish at a regular sushi restaurant for 60% of the price. the service was great. our girl was super friendly and chatty, came over often to check on us, and encouraged lots of pics. however, with all that said, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone even if they just wanted to try it once. it's not worth it.

Great food spot to snag some pics of a unique restaurant. Temakeria is located in south west Dallas in a restaurant plaza. We came on a Sunday afternoon, and there were only a few people there. Everything is painted white with black lines to give it a 2D feel. Definitely worth sitting and admiring the art. The food and drinks are very pricy! Each Temaki was $9-$12 each and drinks were around $14. The Temaki was good, but not worth $10. Don't forget to ask for their sauces! Thought they made the food pop! Recommend stopping by for the pic, but don't spend too much time here!

Cute sushi restaurant with 2-D design interior! Opening day is May 15. It feels like you're in a black and white comic book or manga. Love cute aesthetics and yummy cocktails and food. You can try Japanese staples like hand rolls, sashimi, sushi, noodles, poke nachos, ramen, and dumplings. Stand out was the Matcha y Masa, a matcha mezcal cocktail. You'll wanna try this unique spot and Dallas first 2-D restaurant!

I got the salmon and the soft shell crab temaki. My friend got the tofu and the avocado temaki

Come for ambiance and great customer service. This is the only 2D restaurant in all of Texas!! It's super cute and I felt like I was out of this world. Even the restroom has the 2D theme. Everyone was really sweet and our waiter did an amazing job of explaining things. Unfortunately, the food was lacking flavor. It wasn't bad it was kinda boring and it was worth the high price point

Came here to try out the sushi and 2D look of the restaurant! Upon arrival we were seated immediately on the patio (restaurant was pretty empty) so we weren't able to experience the inside of the restaurant where the majority of the 2D is located. Bummer. The customer service was ok but could have improvements as we had to ask for things (utensils, water, napkins). I ordered the miso soup which was delicious! You can never go wrong with this soup. I also ordered the house salad and it came with a sweet, tangy, gingery dressing. From there I ordered the spicy tuna and salmon temaki. The temaki themselves was tasty but became messy when eating due to the way it's made. A lot of the filling fell out while trying to eat as you can't eat it in one bite unless your mouth is XL. I ordered the chicken karaage and this dish was quite delicious! The chicken was fried nicely and still juicy. I would definitely order this again! I tried my friend's lobster gyoza and it was good but the dipping sauce was overly salty. We ended our meal with tofu crème brûlée and it was good, a nice spin on the traditional crème brûlée. Overall, we had a good time in the moment but I doubt I'll return!

Loved this 2D restaurant! The food was really good! The sushi was my favorite. I can't wait to go back and try the poke nachos. The service was great as well.

tonkatsu ramen, skip skip skip, don't do it

Aesthetic was immaculate but to say the food was mid feels generous. Came excited for a cute restaurant because ya girl loves a theme but man, the food did not hit. First off, the prices are pretty over the top considering the presentation for most of the food is nothing special. Came in pretty hungry but seeing that most of the temaki was priced like $9-14 a piece (these are 2-3 bite items) I kind of settled for getting one of the few reasonably priced dishes, the tonkatsu ramen. The broth wasn't creamy at all, and the noodles tasted like they were from an instant pack, not necessarily cup ramen grade but one of those packs you may splurge and buy for $2 or 3. To say I've had at least a couple hundred bowls of restaurant quality ramen is probably an underestimate but just focusing on the broth and noodles, I didn't hate it but it was not worth the $14 or $16 it was priced at, but it def got worse as I went on. The mushrooms tasted like dirt and had a weird crunch to them, the pork belly was seared on one side, the other just an off-putting grey color, and the egg was SOUR. I normally save my egg til I'm close to finishing a bowl because I love em but after I put this one in my mouth and chewed once, my mouth just filled with spit and I sat there for a solid couple seconds trying to decide if I could or even should swallow it. My homie was just looking at me confused while I decided to give up and spit it into a napkin, it was rowdy. She got an app of the poke nachos and enjoyed them but said they were p spicy (and she's a bit of a spice fiend) and we split an order of the karaage that was actually good, but nothing I'd ever go back just to try again. Our waiter was cool most of the time, glasses stayed filled, but before I met the egg horror part of my meal, he did check in and ask how everything was, my homie was like oh good and I was like 'eh... its okay' (again, was generous and before I bit into that sour egg) and he was just like "kk" and bounced lol. Didn't hit up the bar, maybe that's their saving grace but I don't think I'll be back.

Food : 10/10 Service: 5/10 Ambiance: 8/10 Let me start by saying the food was delicious. We only stopped by to grab a snack before heading to our dinner reservation. We were running an hour ahead of schedule and didn't want to go home just to turn around and come back out. I ordered crispy tofu temaki. My partner ordered the lobster temaki. When we walked in, it was pretty empty. Only about 4 tables were occupied. However, the hostess was not there. We waited about 2-3 min before walking into the main area where the bar is located. After walking in, we weren't greeted at all. We weren't sure if we needed to wait to be seated or if we could just sit somewhere. So, we waited about another 2 min before asking the sushi chef if it was OK for us to sit at the bar. He motioned that it was fine. After sitting there for ANOTHER 2-3 min, the bartender asked a waitress to get us a menu. *drumroll* she did not. She acknowledged that she heard him. However, she never provided us with a menu or even addressed us at all. Again, the restaurant was not busy. At that point, I was ready to leave. My partner felt that since we were already there, we might as well try something. The bartender eventually noticed the waitress never gave us a menu and came over to provide us with menus and water. SN: The hostess eventually came from the back and went back to her station. Again, the food was delicious. The place was super cute. The 2D design is what caught our eye and made us want to try this place. However, the experience with the staff was disappointing and made our overall experience not so great. This would've have been 2 star review but the bartender was friendly enough and the food was great. We probably won't go back but I'd encourage others the check it out. Based on the other reviews, you might luck up and experience good service AND good food!

I unfortunately didn't like this place as much as I thought I would. The ambiance is cool though! But the food was lacking flavor, freshness, and was salty. The service was good! I know they're new so it looked like they were scrambling a bit. We sat at the bar since we walked in, so make sure you make a reservation. The ambiance is super cool, very IG worthy. The rolls were fishy in taste, meaning...it didn't taste fresh. The scallop was the only one I liked. The lobster was way too salty. Cute concept but needs work on flavor.

The open glass enclosed patio is a very refreshing vibe and inside is a 2D feel. The food I would say is your typical mid sushi taste. The Temaki is basically a sushi taco and we enjoyed the salmon, shrimp tempura, and yellow tail. For the HH price of $5, I would say it was not bad for the price. If we would have paid full price for all of the items we got, I would feel as if it was too overpriced. The poor nachos, one piece per chip. Not as generous as other places I have had this dish for the price. Ramen, the bowl is fairly small. Came with a small thin strip of pork belly (Mostly Fat) instead of a nice thicker piece with a good amount of meat. usually ramen places serve at least least 2 pieces, $14 is very overpriced. Cocktails, the cucumber sour was interesting. Mostly tasted like sprite. The Matcha y Masa, was definitely not down our alley. It was gritty from the matcha, the texture of the drink as a full was too creamy and gritty and odd.
