They have a back room that is more private and is perfect for those looking to get work done with reliable wifi (note: 2 hour wifi limit) I did find the small cold brew for $5 a little on the pricier side, but it is super caffeinated and delicious. I was bouncing off the walls for hours after drinking it so beware about drinking one later in the day. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Coffee at Tell Us is really mediocre - it tastes burnt. I've tried this place when it opened and I was deterred by their burnt coffee, and now, after all these years, their coffee still tastes burnt. My friend's dark chocolate mocha tasted like neither coffee nor mocha - it was just oddly flavored liquid that had no resemblance to real coffee. I love Tellus! It's my number one coffee spot in Walnut Creek. I come at least once a week with my kids and usually order a Cafe Latte with burnt honey cinnamon. They have really good homemade coffee syrups! My kids get the watermelon chill which they LOVE. They also get a traditional croissant which is always so fresh, very airy and buttery. I had the parfait for the first time and it's made with fresh fruit, yogurt and delicious granola! We've gotten DoorDash from them and all of their food is really good and they use excellent ingredients. I'm really impressed with their coffee quality. The cafe is super cute. The plants, lighting and overall atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. It seems like a hot spot for pulling up your laptop and working. Overpriced for sure, and while the place wasn't busy, it took a little longer than expected. The iced tea was great (although I believe only one option), and again, the space is quite large with ample seating and great decor. Menu is limited, but some great healthy options consisting of a few eggy dishes, pastries, toasts and fresh juices and a few smoothies. I love smoothies, but none seemed to call out to me. I've been frequenting WC more recently and likely through the summer so I've been looking for different coffee shops to try. Tellus seems to always be highly rated. It's a cute and Instagrammable cafe in the heart of downtown WC and based on the lines on a Saturday morning, also very popular. My iced dark mocha and the avocado toast were good. The kouign amann was your typical kouign. Overall it was a good experience but a bit pricey as others may have mentioned. A small single piece of toast sliced in half was $12. I suppose that is the going rate but have experienced better value for the quality at other cafes. Nearly $30 for a kouign, an avo toast and a medium mocha. It's WC after all though, so I'm sure the pricing carries the cache. read more

I am a big fan of empanadas so I decided to try their chicken empanada. It comes with this chimichurri sauce which goes well with it. Would I order it again? Maybe not. It was nice to try it though. One of my pet peeves is this "We don't accept cash" nonsense. So demerits already for this place. We would have walked out but it was 3:30 pm and I didn't get my morning coffee at home before heading out for the day so I was in total need of a fix. The coffee is pretty good. My partner and I both had shot added. So definitely a hipster weigh the coffee beans, pour over, social justice warrior, we are to cool for school kind of outfit. But the social justice is just for looks because if you are poor or on the street or don't have credit or debit cards you are not welcome here. So much for social justice warriors. I love this place for the coffee, savory breakfast, and workspace. I had their breakfast sandwich, avocado toast, pastries, coffee, and acai bowl. While I love everything I've tried, the only thing I would never order again is the acai bowl. It was slush and melted. There was nothing special about it and not enjoyable because it was like soup. I finally got to visit Tellus when I met an amazing fellow Yelper, and I'm glad I did! I told the person working there that it was my first visit and asked for drink recommendations, and recommendations were given. Not just the names of the drinks, but also flavor profiles and such which I respected. I ended up ordering a burnt honey cinnamon latte since that sounded unique and I haven't had that exact flavor latte before. I also asked for it to be not too sweet and for oat milk, and it looked and tasted amazing. I also got a vanilla scone and they even asked if I wanted it to be warmed up. Aw, so sweet. I paid, got my scone, and waited for my drink. They then called out my name and wow, nice latte art considering it was a plant based milk. Beautiful. First sip was amazing foam, perfectly crafted latte. Nice flavor, not too sweet. The scone was good too, but I prefer my scones more of the Larry David style- harder and such (are you a CYE fan too?), but not many places do that kind of scone so this was pretty good in comparison. They also do food here and that looked pretty nice too. If I was studying, this would be the spot I'd like to be. Very cute shop in downtown Walnut Creek! Came for a blowout in the area and walked over about 5 minutes down the street and ordered a lavender latte with soy milk and a maple kouign aman as recommended by the cashier who mentioned it was one of the best items there. It was pretty early (around 8am) on a Saturday and still decently busy of a place inside so you know this place gets super full around peak hours. Both of my items were yummy except I don't think my latte actually had soy milk in it (I'm lactose intolerant and felt it) but I'm willing to give this place another chance again. read more

One of the best almond croissants I have had in a looong time! What a great idea to add almonds on top, it gives a great crunch and texture to this yummy croissant. I made the terrible mistake of trying Brioche Paris bakery, and wasted calories on a sup-bar stale croissant. Glad I found this place! I will also mention that their matcha lattes are great quality.
