Came here my first time a few months ago and the food was greasy, there was a cockroach crawling on the floor, and the waitress literally came to our table and told us all about how much she hates working there. Didn't get a refill on water and she left to flirt with a guy at another table for a long time. We gave it another chance and went and the hostess and waitress had bad attitudes -- our waitress was different but said the exact same thing as the last one about hating working there so I'm assuming bad management. Whole staff seems to have bad attitudes. Also food was very grease again -- don't get their quesadillas. read more

Wasn't a huge fan. Started with their chips and salsa. It lacked a lot of flavor and felt like it needed something to complement it. I ordered a house margarita on the rocks and was also disappointed. We only made it to apps before we decided we should go. We did get the guacamole trio which was the best thing of the day, but it was very chunky. Which is okay as long as the avocado ripe, it was not ready for guacamole yet. Disappointing experience. Atmosphere is very cool, but based on my experience, I'm in no rush to get back, but the entrees could be the highlight. read more

But tried this new (at least to me) in Bishop Arts and was truly impressed. The ambiance is amazing. I was waiting on someone and even as they were getting busier my server chatted with me about a whole host of topics including recommendations. So my observations... bite size tacos are beyond amazing. I could eat my weight in them. The chips and salsa fantastic. Queso tastes delicious if not a little too stiff. And the drinks were the bomb. The margarita may appear small but since its NOT some trash mix and plastic bottle bottom shelf tequila they were perfect... and sneaky devils. All in all, I highly recommend this spot. Love the atmosphere! I came here o. A Friday night for my bday. My boyfriend made the reservations. When we arrived, they remembered his name. The manager (I think his name was Jeremy) was very accommodating. He made sure we were helped in a timely fashion. Carlos was our waiter. He was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. Went there tonight for dinner and drinks. Caught the last 30 minutes of Happy Hour which was nice. The male host was extremely nice and helpful. Our entrees came out pretty quickly. We ordered two more drinks and were conversing while finishing our meals. After being there around an hour and 15 minutes I asked for our checks. We paid our bills right away. About 5 minutes after we paid the our waitress comes to our table and tells us she is sorry but we needed to leave because they had a reservation that was going to need our table. I told her I wish she had told me that 5 minutes earlier before I left her a huge tip. We were a party of 2. The place was full besides a few tables outside but I feel like that could have been handled a lot different. They could have even offered to try to seat us at the bar. Funny thing is I'm the one that asked for the check then out of no where they need our table. The tacos were pretty good and full of meat but the separate side of beans and elotes were extremely small. So small I almost complained and that's not in my nature. I was curious to try this spot and now I'm over it. I will not be returning. read more

I would give 0 reviews if I could. I purchased a Groupon. Upon visiting was I formed the Groupon was no longer valid. The manager there indicated the value was wel over 100$ for their "new" concept. When going to their website (which he stated was down despite me having it up on my phone) the sum was well under 100$ in which case we were Informed their menu pricing was incorrect. He gave us a menu from inside, which was in fact different pricing than listed on their site and still wel under the 100$ the manager indicated was the value of the meal. The manager then changed his story again indicating what the Groupon said was included was worded incorrectly and if they honored the Groupon it would be for more than what was stated- to push to the 100$ value. Awful service. Awful marketing. I'm not sure this restaurant really understands what it means to serve to its patrons. read more

Tejas has a cute atmosphere, decent prices, and is located in a nice area, but the food is not that great... almost everything comes with avocado, so whatever you get you'll be wayyy over filled with avocado by the end, and thus is coming from an avocado lover! The ceviche was not ceviche at all.. it was chopped up avocado with lime and some type of fish in it. Not sure where they got that recipe. Don't expect good Mexican food, this place is probably more atmosphere and drink based. With better spots around, I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Honestly, there is nothing special about this place. We got the guac trio and that was the best thing we had. Chicken mole was tough. $12 frozen margarita that was extremely basic. No one stopped by after the food was delivered to see if we needed anything, no water refills and we weren't offered a chance to order another beer. Server finally came back a while later when we were long finished with everything. The music was so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation. We had the queso fundido, the chile rubbed pork and the poblano soup. I did really like the poblano soup, but we most likely won't be back. read more

This place is overhyped as overhyped can be. The prices are quite high considering the small portions that are given. I came with my family expecting to explore something new. We got pretty bad service. We waited 15 minutes before anyone came to our table and drinks were served as the food came out. I ordered the fajitas and was surprised to find rice burned at the bottom due to the hot skillet. I'm no Gordon Ramsey but I strongly believe that the only thing on the skillet should be the fajitas. The tortillas were covered in grease which could only be explained by the fact that someone never cleaned the griddle. The music is way too loud I couldn't even hear myself speak. As a food writer, this place has officially made it onto my list of places I won't be coming back to. read more
