I enjoy Tea Top's Fremont location and tried the Newark one a few times. I usually get my drinks less ice, less sweet, but the tea flavor is by no means watered down. The boba has the perfect texture and is lightly sweet. Service was fast, decent amount of seating, and employees were very kind in accommodating a last minute drink swap. Solid go to!
The trifecta milk drink has red bean, boba, and grass jelly. You cannot adjust the sweetness but honestly it wasn't that sweet. They have ac which felt so nice on a hot day! I saw a guy doing work there on his laptop so you can certainly do that. The staff were nice. I would love to come back and try their other drinks!
I rarely go to Tea Top because I never remember that they exist but every time I get a drink from here, I always wonder why because the drinks are solid. The workers (I didn't catch their names but it was a young woman and man) were so incredibly sweet with customizations and explaining different drinks since they have an extensive menu. Their drinks run a bit sweet even though I usually get 100% sweet at all the other boba shops so if you're similar, I recommend at least reducing to 80%. They're currently running a BOGO 50% M-W for the first 50 customers. I'm not sure how long it'll last, but it's definitely a great deal and I'll try to visit as often as I can. There are a few more boba shops opening on this strip, but Tea Top is a great location that you should try if you haven't.
Got the Earl Grey Milk Tea w/ 3Q, but removed the grass jelly. Earl Grey is a rare find at milk tea shops so had to try. The flavor is very light, almost a little more watered down. Still enjoyable and the standard size is pretty large. Nothing stood out with the boba and lychee jelly, but I did like the combination with the tea. Price is reasonable compared to most places these days. Vibes felt very nostalgic and simple. They have a student discount for 10% off and a punch card system as well which is nice. A bit far from my location so may not go back but I did enjoy and did think it was worth for a standard simple milk tea.
This location is the closest to me and always have deals (B2G1, BOGO50%) the drinks always come in a large and they have a great variety of teas, milkteas, milkshakes etc. And their boba is always fresh, no complaints! Service is good too.
Final Thoughts: 2.00/5.00 After dinner, my friend and I went to get boba at the shop a few doors down. Perhaps we should have chosen somewhere else. My friend said that his coworkers will go here sometimes and they seem to like it. To each their own. I have personally had better, but I'll try anything once. Overall, will be a 2 star for me today. Drinks: Matcha Latte: 1.5/5 Very interesting how this place has fairly high marks and reviews. Maybe because their other drinks are better? I chose this drink today because I've very much gotten into matcha. This drink was not for me though. First look gave me that sense too. Lovely layering, but it was when it was mixed did I really see it. My one note is the amount of milk that is added to this drink. When it comes to matcha drinks, I find that less is more with the base. This drink just had so much milk and ice at the bottom and it completely dilutes the matcha. Had this matcha been in a little less milk, it may have been better. This also dulls out the color of it and makes the drink itself unappealing when it's mixed. This drink is super grainy at the bottom and I tried to mix it more, but that really didn't help. Sweetness was alright. Again, flavor of it was just the milk, so I can't say too much of the matcha since it drowned out. Grapefruit Green Tea with Crushed Ice: 3.0/5 This was my friend's drink and I tried it for my review purposes. This was the better option of the two. The grapefruit and tea drink itself was very refreshing. Sweetness was good. Something about the crushed ice made it better. I honestly don't think this drink would be the same with the regular cubed large ice. The crushed ice was also mixed in with the grapefruit pulp at the top too. I like that addition of the grapefruit because of it's natural flavor and that texture from it. Grapefruit can be slightly bitter, but I actually like it that subtle bitterness with the sweetness and tartness in it. The green tea is a good option to have with think drink because it's very light and doesn't overpower the remainder of the drink. Sweetness was good for me. Definitely more of a passing drink than the drink option that I chose today. Menu: Good enough variety Again, looks to be your standard boba shop menu. There are a fair amount of items on their menu for you to choose from though. Perhaps their fruit teas would have been the better option for me here. I thought my friend's drink was really refreshing and appropriate for the weather at the time. --------- Quality: So-so The matcha really doesn't look like my ceremonial grade matcha powder. Slightly oxidized and dulled out green color. This might be because it looked completely diluted, but maybe not. What gets me was how grainy it was too. Now, looking at my friend's drink, I liked the grapefruit pulp and the use of the natural fruit inside the drink. So, will depend on what you get and your preferences. Price: Average Truly your average Bay Area prices for these drinks and what they are. The price will range from $5 to $8, so really within that standard boba drink price here. Service: Friendly They greeted us when we walked into the shop and they were also really quick to make the drink. I noticed the person making the drink come to the front too to see what we would order and he started making it right after we paid for the drinks. Loving the quick service. There wasn't many groups ahead of us, so he was able to do this. I'm sure they try their best to keep up and make it quickly to order though, which I appreciate. Ambiance: Standard boba shop The interior is giving your very standard boba shop and smell. There are a few tables on the side and the counter on the other side. I think this would be a nice studying stop or charting spot because it seems very peaceful. Location/Parking: Long Plaza; Optimal Parking Spaces This area is on Cedar Blvd. The plaza itself is quite long and made up of sections of buildings. All of it seems to be connected though, so there are parking spaces. Doesn't seem like it was super super saturated of an area during the time, so my friend and I were able to park close by. I really don't see parking being too much of an issue though.
TeaTop is a nice boba shop in a plaza with many other Asian restaurants, making it the perfect snack or dessert shop after a meal. I couldn't resist trying a drink and picked up the Panda Milk Tea, since it was on a 15% discount. The boba was fresh and just the right texture, not too chewy and not too hard, but at 30% sugar was a still too much for me. Upon leaving, I noticed that the staff member never applied the 15% discount promotion that they had going on. Rather than calmly correcting the error, he made the most disgruntled face and opened the cash register, flinging a couple coins at me - nowhere near 15%. Although I enjoyed the boba and would have liked trying the next drink at 0%, I'm turned away by the rude interaction with the staff member. +1 for the boba, though, because that was genuinely good otherwise.
My go-to drink is #19 Signature Alpine Green Milk Tea because I really like the tea flavor. It seems unique because I haven't seen this tea name in other stores before. I like how the cashier always offers a stamp card without me asking. The stamp card is only for this Newark store, and it is buy 10, get one free. Based on going here more than four times in the evening, there is lots of empty seating inside, and it was easy to find free parking in the lot. Definitely coming back here again to try other flavors like Sun Moon Lake Milk Tea and Winter Melon Alpine Green Tea.
Tea? Yes! Boba? Yes! Decaf drinks? Yes! Wifi? Yes! If you haven't been, welcome the new tea shop in town! Coming in with fresh made tea from leaves procured from Taiwan, TeaTop is making an impression. The tea is flavorful and the toppings are always fresh. They have a variety of toppings and are available to sample if they're new to you. The boba is chewy and made fresh. If caffeine is not your cup of tea, then you'll be happy to hear that they have a variety of non-caffeinated drinks including slushies and juices. Also fear not lactose-intolerant friends! All their milk items are lactose free! Now if you're adventurous, you'll be surprised to hear that they host a number of specials each month at a discount. Speaking of discounts, they have some other deals including buy two get one free Wednesdays and Fridays and bring your own (BYO) cup discount. The discounts come in handy given that the drinks here are slightly higher priced than other places, however the size of the standard drinks and the quality makes it fair. It's extremely comfortable to hang out here as they have plenty of clean seats and booths, free wifi, air conditioning, a working bathroom, easy parking, quick access to the highway and personable staff. Located just across the street from New Park Mall and Newark Memorial High School, you have no reason not to come give TeaTop a shot! Overall, I enjoy their tea drinks a lot and the deals are great incentives to bring a friend with you in your milk tea exploration. If they were open earlier, they may even rival the Starbucks across the street in the morning!
OMG, first time here. Ordered #8 without Peal milk tea with red bean. Excellent. Perfect in sweetness. Parking a little cramped and its right across from Starbucks. Also #6, earl grey milk tea for my partner. Will come back if in the area.
With signage up about their origins from a premium tea brewing business, I expected my drink to have high quality tea taste to compliment fresh fruit flavors. This was sadly not the case. I ordered the Passion Green Tea Medley, which I had high hopes for as it is listed as one of TeaTop's top 10 recommendations. The drink comes with lychee jelly and boba, which was very competitively priced for the size of the drink at just $5.95. Despite the aforementioned items, I found the drink to be too artificially sweet even at 30%. And the passion fruit taste to be artificial, rather than deriving from fresh passion juice. Overall, I found the drink just be to okay. There are definitely better options in the highly saturated boba market throughout the Newark/Fremont area. The shop itself is located at the tail end of the strip mall, on the quieter side.

I have been drinking TeaTop since I was in highschool over 6-7 years ago. The store is a staple in Newark and one of the OG boba places. I'm not 100% sure how they make their tea, but their tea is strong. No watered down BS, no old boba, and no bad flavors. They are so consistent and have it down to a tee. read more
Whenever I try a new boba spot I always make my first impression by ordering their brown sugar boba milk. The one here tasted pretty good. It's one of the only places i've been to that allows you to adjust the sugar on this drink, as most places have a fixed amount. The amount of drink they give is also quite generous, but the amount of boba balls they give is a bit too generous. They gave almost triple the amount of boba that most places give in a drink. That could be good depending on your preference but I found that it was too much for my liking. The drink itself was really tasty. The taste of the brown sugar really shines through which I love. read more

One of my top favorite boba places in the Tri City area! Their boba is always chewy and sweet and the tea is legit. My go to is milk foam oolong tea with boba. My husband likes the signature alpine green milk tea with grass jelly (he finishes the drink before we even get home!) I've always contacted Victor (the store manager) whenever I have to do a boba social at work. They're great at boba catering orders (prompt delivery) with reasonable pricing. I always recommend friends to check out this boba spot! read more
I love when boba shops offer unique teas, so when I was searching for my post-lunch treat, Tea-top got my attention. I decided to try the Sun Moon Lake milk tea with grass jelly, 50% sweet, less ice. I was a little worried that my drink would taste like a basic black milk tea but thankfully it did not! The tea was a strong, earthy/slightly florally black tea. The milk/creamer did not hide the tea either. I loved it! Previous reviews said that Tea-top drinks tend to be on the sweeter side. 50% sweet here tasted like a 75% sweet at other places, which was perfect for me since that's what I usually order! The only size is large, and they do accept card. I definitely want to try the Alpine Green or Darjeeling milk tea next time! read more

I'm a regular when it comes to TeaTop because their boba drinks are always made perfectly and the same every time I order. The 2 drinks that I get are the: 1. Sun moon lake milk tea with boba, half sugar less ice 2. QQ passion fruit green tea, half sugar less ice (qq stands for boba and lychee jelly) The milk tea reminds me of my childhood and brings me back with the nostalgic flavor. I love their passion fruit green tea for something refreshing. Not to mention, their boba is perfectly cooked! When we walked in, there were 2 people ahead of us, but they were quick in taking orders. After taking our order, we were called to get our drinks in a few minutes. Super friendly staff and quick turnaround! read more

Was disappointed my red cell count was too low for blood donation so needed some boba for comfort, strolled by this shop and was sold by the comparison chart poster outside, in Taiwan you want quality boba tea, these are the standard, unfortunately in bay area, that's not always guaranteed (understandable, different environment and cost). Picked the #5 top seller, taro w sago milk tea, was expecting just regular taro sago like the dessert, turns out it was milk tea, taro flavored (by actual cooked taro, woot!) Asked for sweetness adjustment, no can do as the sweetness comes from the cooked taro it's mixed in, however the sweetness was perfectly gentle and light, just enough that you can still taste the taro flavor and milk tea, and if one prefers more sweet, i guess you could request it? The sago also to my surprise, was somehow able to be distributed evenly throughout the tea, instead clumping / sinking all at the bottom, didn't need to use the spoon to scoop anything up until you get to the bottom where the cooked taro is. Easy to drink and very yummy, definitely brought the comfort needed. The milk tea also fizzled with bubbles when first starting to drink, maybe it was a special mixing method used? Felt the thoughtfulness put in in crafting their drinks. I like this place :) Next time shall try their teas. read more

I recently notice this boba place after eatting at Sia. I love their big boba cup by their entrance, super cute for photos. I was not sure what to order since they have many options to choose from. So I went for their classic and chose their jasmine milk tea, light ice with 50% sweet. Their drink had strong tea flavor, loved it. Boba was yummy, fresh and chewy. Also, their cups are HUGE, only one size. If you enjoy tea flavor milk tea, this is the spot to check out. I also really like their darjeeling milk tea. I have no idea what type of tea that is, but it's good, recommend. read more
We ordered taro milk tea with sago and red bean matcha latte. Both taste good! The taro milk tea was made from real taro and we definitely can taste the taro. The red bean matcha latte (30% sugar & 30% ice) was sweet enough for me and the matcha taste was very pronounced. Overall, we enjoy the drinks! Parking can be a bit hard during dinner time as it is located in a small complex among few other popular restaurants. read more

TeaTop is yet another boba store near Fremont tucked away in the corner of the plaza behind NewPark Mall. If it weren't for my friend's suggestion, I would've never found this gem! Due to COVID restrictions, only 3 customers are allowed in the store at a time, and there is a clear window to block direct contact with the cashier, which I appreciated. I got the #49 fresh milk with grass jelly (less ice & 80% sweet)-- the drink is actually sweetened by brown sugar which I didn't know, so they added half the amount of brown sugar for 80% sweet, which was the PERFECT amount of sweetness in my opinion. The drink was exactly what I was looking for, sweet and creamy with brown sugar drizzled on the sides of the cup. Their grass jelly is more flavorful than from other stores but in the best way possible-- it strikes a balance between earthy and sweet, I love it! My friend got the #19 signature alpine greens milk tea (less ice, 80% sweet) again, perfect amount of sweetness, creaminess, and earthy tea flavor. *disclaimer* I feel like boba can be very hit or miss depending on folks' preferences. My friend and I were looking for something sweet, creamy, and milky-- so if that's how you like your milk teas, then I would recommend you check this place out! read more

This review is solely for the Taro milk tea and service. Walked in on a rainy night with a sugar craving after donating blood at the Red Cross. In ordered my usual Taro milk tea with boba. Wow was I blown away by the flavor and consistency of the drink. It was spot on delicious and adequately sweetened. I could actually appreciate the Taro flavor. Drank every last drop. Service super nice and fast. I cant wait to come back for more. I don't know how I never came here??? read more

I'm starting to get addicted to TeaTop's Earl Grey with 3Q (boba, grass jelly, coconut jelly). It's got so much caffeine I need to make sure I consume it before dinner. Unless it's Friday, then hello Saturday at 3am! 80% sweet with less ice hits the spot. Milky, creamy, more milk than tea in taste, just my kinda drink. TeaTop is one of my favorites now, only second to Sharetea. My friends have gotten matcha lattes, fresh grapefruit slushes, jasmine milk tea, etc. Pearls are pretty consistent: warm, chewy, and soaked in honey. With 3Q, I don't have to choose between healthier alternative grass jelly and those carb guilty pearls, plus coconut jelly adds some extra sweetness and chew. Customer service is extremely nice here. Our cashier may have been the manager: helpful, patient, and informative. I've noticed TeaTop employees always make sure we have a stamp card to earn those points toward a free drink. The card's first spot is pre-stamped. One of these days, I'll try a hot brown sugar green milk tea with boba. Sounds like the perfect drink for a rainy day. Still wondering what a sun moon milk tea is. Strike a pose with the gigantic boba milk tea in house! read more

One of my favorite boba spots in the bay. I usually get the passion fruit medley, but decided to try the Mung Bean Slushy this time, as it was a warm day and this was one of their top 10 drinks. I got 30% sugar, which was perfect for me. This tasted just like the 綠豆沙 my mom would make for me in the summertime. Such a refreshing drink and would definitely recommend for mung bean fans. My sister got the Thai tea, her go-to. Personally, it's way too sweet for me but to each their own! The prices seem to have gone up and with tax, my drink came out to be $6.30! I miss the days of $3 boba.. read more

We came here couple times already. I like trying different boba place but somehow after couple orders I still couldn't find the right drink to get here. I had the matcha green milk tea & lemon drink the second time around. My bf always get their grass jelly milk here. The matcha green tea wasn't anything like matcha. Maybe just the colors but it taste exactly like a Thai green milk tea. The name is it just throws me off right there. If it has no matcha maybe don't name it matcha but use Thai green milk tea instead? I would come back and give their matcha a try next time and maybe also try their boba. I haven't had a Chance to add boba to my drinks yet. read more

The Drink This TeaTop opened not long ago in the Newark, and been meaning to pay a visit. Ordered their Pearl Milk Tea and it did not disappoint. In fact, this is probable the first time I've ordered a normal Pearl Milk Tea drink from TeaTop. I was also fortunate enough to get a fresh batch of pearls...with a short wait. Most of time I usually get the Taro Milk Tea w/ Sago, or one of their Fresh Milk. TeaTop is pretty consistent with their drinks through their stores. The Miscellaneous Though this store is somewhat unique. Probably because of the giant milk tea display when you walk into the shop. The inside is similar in size as the other TeaTop, with slight different decoration. The service in this shop is quite sincere and employees are easy to converse with. Menu is the same, there's no changes between different stores. Though the prices are higher on this one compare to some other locations? Still a nice place to hangout with friend nonetheless. read more

I like the signature alpine green tea, but that's about where it stops. Service is helpful and friendly, there's plenty of parking outside, and there are maybe five or so tables inside. The alpine green tea is very light and refreshing, and I prefer it without milk so the creaminess doesn't overwhelm the delicate tea taste. Sizes are standard (large), and ice and sweetness levels can be adjusted. The drinks veer on the sweet side, even when I ask for 25% sugar. I don't recommend the creamas here at all. I tried the alpine green tea creama and the cream on top tasted very flat and heavy. I know it's cream, but if you've tried the cream toppings at Gong Cha or Happy Lemon, those are much lighter and more flavorful in comparison. The cream topping here has almost a sickly sweet taste, it was super one-dimensional even though it probably did have some salt in it, and instead of elevating the tea, it cast a really unpalatable note over the whole drink. I tossed the whole thing after a few sips. I may be back to try their other offerings, but right now Tea Top is a solid 3star for me. read more

I haven't had a "go-to" place for boba, since I'm a bit picky, but I love this place and it's nearby where I live! It has a cozy interior and it is a bit tucked away in the plaza, but it is nice to come pick up some tasty drinks! I am excited to come back and try all of their top ten drinks. I am quite addicted to the Winter Melon Alpine Green Milk Tea, though! read more
