Whenever I try a new boba spot I always make my first impression by ordering their brown sugar boba milk. The one here tasted pretty good. It's one of the only places i've been to that allows you to adjust the sugar on this drink, as most places have a fixed amount. The amount of drink they give is also quite generous, but the amount of boba balls they give is a bit too generous. They gave almost triple the amount of boba that most places give in a drink. I love when boba shops offer unique teas, so when I was searching for my post-lunch treat, Tea-top got my attention. I decided to try the Sun Moon Lake milk tea with grass jelly, 50% sweet, less ice. I was a little worried that my drink would taste like a basic black milk tea but thankfully it did not! The tea was a strong, earthy/slightly florally black tea. The milk/creamer did not hide the tea either. I loved it! Previous reviews said that Tea-top drinks tend to be on the sweeter side. 50% sweet here tasted like a 75% sweet at other places, which was perfect for me since that's what I usually order! Was disappointed my red cell count was too low for blood donation so needed some boba for comfort, strolled by this shop and was sold by the comparison chart poster outside, in Taiwan you want quality boba tea, these are the standard, unfortunately in bay area, that's not always guaranteed (understandable, different environment and cost). Picked the #5 top seller, taro w sago milk tea, was expecting just regular taro sago like the dessert, turns out it was milk tea, taro flavored (by actual cooked taro, woot!) Asked for sweetness adjustment, no can do as the sweetness comes from the cooked taro it's mixed in, however the sweetness was perfectly gentle and light, just enough that you can still taste the taro flavor and milk tea, and if one prefers more sweet, i guess you could request it? The sago also to my surprise, was somehow able to be distributed evenly throughout the tea, instead clumping / sinking all at the bottom, didn't need to use the spoon to scoop anything up until you get to the bottom where the cooked taro is. Easy to drink and very yummy, definitely brought the comfort needed. The milk tea also fizzled with bubbles when first starting to drink, maybe it was a special mixing method used? Felt the thoughtfulness put in in crafting their drinks. I like this place :) Next time shall try their teas. read more

The milk tea was not bad but wasnt spectacular. The brown sugar milk tea could have been a bit stronger. The bobas tasted a little under, kind of chewy. 3/5 The peach bits in the peach green tea tasted like they came from a can and it sat in the syrup. The crystal bobas however were pretty good. 3/5 Lastly, we got the signature green tea which was my favorite out of the three drinks we got. Strong tea flavor. Still on the sweeter side for 30% sweetness. Maybe ill ask for 0 next time. 4/5 Each drink was about 6 to 7 bucks. Seems a bit high compared to other milk tea shops. Creamy and delicious. I got 100% sugar for the milk foam earl grey and it was pretty sweet compared to other stores in my opinion, but I didn't mind personally. I purchased two drinks. The first drink I got was a standard milk tea with pearl and the other one was a earl gray tea with pearl. The flavors are really good not overly sweet like some other places. The portions are big. Also my wife had the tea with Boba, and she gave it an 8 out of 10 score. My Earl Gray tea was only OK for me. I gave it a six out of 10, but I don't think it has anything to do with how they prepared it. I think it's just not my style. I will go ahead and try something else next time. read more

Extensive menu, friendly and fast service, reasonable prices. The lady who often works as cashier remembered my usual order after only a couple visits, which is very nice of her c': I appreciate that they have a large selection of tea lattes they make from fresh milk, whereas some stores make most of their menu with creamer and only have a small selection for fresh milk teas. My favorite is the signature alpine green tea with fresh milk! The earl grey is quite good too; the flavor comes through well and doesn't taste watery. I'm personally not a fan of their boba pearls, but they have some of the best egg pudding! All the fruit teas I've tried are great too, and I'm always happy to see a place offer aiyu jelly. read more

Bro used to come here a ton in the pandemic so I have tried it a few times. I usually get some black tea with coconut jelly. Staff is always nice and drinks do come out fast. I recently notice this boba place after eatting at Sia. I love their big boba cup by their entrance, super cute for photos. I was not sure what to order since they have many options to choose from. So I went for their classic and chose their jasmine milk tea, light ice with 50% sweet. Their drink had strong tea flavor, loved it. Boba was yummy, fresh and chewy. We ordered taro milk tea with sago and red bean matcha latte. Both taste good! The taro milk tea was made from real taro and we definitely can taste the taro. The red bean matcha latte (30% sugar & 30% ice) was sweet enough for me and the matcha taste was very pronounced. Overall, we enjoy the drinks! TeaTop is yet another boba store near Fremont tucked away in the corner of the plaza behind NewPark Mall. If it weren't for my friend's suggestion, I would've never found this gem! Due to COVID restrictions, only 3 customers are allowed in the store at a time, and there is a clear window to block direct contact with the cashier, which I appreciated. I got the #49 fresh milk with grass jelly (less ice & 80% sweet)-- the drink is actually sweetened by brown sugar which I didn't know, so they added half the amount of brown sugar for 80% sweet, which was the PERFECT amount of sweetness in my opinion. The drink was exactly what I was looking for, sweet and creamy with brown sugar drizzled on the sides of the cup. Their grass jelly is more flavorful than from other stores but in the best way possible-- it strikes a balance between earthy and sweet, I love it! My friend got the #19 signature alpine greens milk tea (less ice, 80% sweet) again, perfect amount of sweetness, creaminess, and earthy tea flavor. *disclaimer* I feel like boba can be very hit or miss depending on folks' preferences. I'm starting to get addicted to TeaTop's Earl Grey with 3Q (boba, grass jelly, coconut jelly). It's got so much caffeine I need to make sure I consume it before dinner. Unless it's Friday, then hello Saturday at 3am! 80% sweet with less ice hits the spot. Milky, creamy, more milk than tea in taste, just my kinda drink. TeaTop is one of my favorites now, only second to Sharetea. My friends have gotten matcha lattes, fresh grapefruit slushes, jasmine milk tea, etc. Pearls are pretty consistent: warm, chewy, and soaked in honey. With 3Q, I don't have to choose between healthier alternative grass jelly and those carb guilty pearls, plus coconut jelly adds some extra sweetness and chew. Customer service is extremely nice here. Our cashier may have been the manager: helpful, patient, and informative. I've noticed TeaTop employees always make sure we have a stamp card to earn those points toward a free drink. The card's first spot is pre-stamped. One of these days, I'll try a hot brown sugar green milk tea with boba. Sounds like the perfect drink for a rainy day. We came here couple times already. I like trying different boba place but somehow after couple orders I still couldn't find the right drink to get here. I had the matcha green milk tea & lemon drink the second time around. My bf always get their grass jelly milk here. The matcha green tea wasn't anything like matcha. Maybe just the colors but it taste exactly like a Thai green milk tea. The name is it just throws me off right there. If it has no matcha maybe don't name it matcha but use Thai green milk tea instead? I would come back and give their matcha a try next time and maybe also try their boba. The Drink This TeaTop opened not long ago in the Newark, and been meaning to pay a visit. Ordered their Pearl Milk Tea and it did not disappoint. In fact, this is probable the first time I've ordered a normal Pearl Milk Tea drink from TeaTop. I was also fortunate enough to get a fresh batch of pearls...with a short wait. Most of time I usually get the Taro Milk Tea w/ Sago, or one of their Fresh Milk. TeaTop is pretty consistent with their drinks through their stores. The Miscellaneous Though this store is somewhat unique. Probably because of the giant milk tea display when you walk into the shop. The inside is similar in size as the other TeaTop, with slight different decoration. The service in this shop is quite sincere and employees are easy to converse with. Menu is the same, there's no changes between different stores. Though the prices are higher on this one compare to some other locations? I like the signature alpine green tea, but that's about where it stops. Service is helpful and friendly, there's plenty of parking outside, and there are maybe five or so tables inside. The alpine green tea is very light and refreshing, and I prefer it without milk so the creaminess doesn't overwhelm the delicate tea taste. Sizes are standard (large), and ice and sweetness levels can be adjusted. The drinks veer on the sweet side, even when I ask for 25% sugar. I don't recommend the creamas here at all. I tried the alpine green tea creama and the cream on top tasted very flat and heavy. I know it's cream, but if you've tried the cream toppings at Gong Cha or Happy Lemon, those are much lighter and more flavorful in comparison. The cream topping here has almost a sickly sweet taste, it was super one-dimensional even though it probably did have some salt in it, and instead of elevating the tea, it cast a really unpalatable note over the whole drink. I tossed the whole thing after a few sips. I may be back to try their other offerings, but right now Tea Top is a solid 3star for me. read more

Being able to choose sugar levels & ice levels is a big plus, & the biggest takeaway was how spot on each individual ingredient was! My choice was the Pearl Milk Tea substituting Red Bean for Grass Jelly. The boba was had the best chewy texture, & the grass jelly was a great addition to the drink as well! The tea flavor profile is pretty great as well, & I really enjoyed my drink!
