My 1st review of this place was over 6 years ago, and I decided to give it another try this past Thursday, which happens to be National Bubble Tea Day. I got there about 2pm ish, and there was one guy working there. There was a dad and his daughter ordering when I got there. The guy working there was friendly and polite. The drink which I always get the same thing is H1 Lemon Slushy with Lychee Jello. It was refreshing, and perfectly tart and sweet. I'm glad that this spot has the lychee jello included because some of the other Happy Lemon spots don't. The place was clean and vibrant. Not only that this one has better parking situation, the drinks are made better too because the owner is there to make the drinks . Wednesday is their weekly special: buy the first drink and the second drink is 50 % off . You can order on line in advance or use the touch screen I pad to order in person . There is also a digital board to tell you how much longer you have to wait , or your order is in process , and ready for pick up . We got the mango match smoothie with 25 % sugar . I love stopping by Happy Lemon when I can. I usually order a boba milk tea with puff cream or a tea with lychee jelly. Recently, I tried one of their lemon-blended slushies, and it was awful. It tasted extremely bitter, don't recommend. The service is decent. There is usually only one worker, but drinks come out fairly quickly. Recently made an order online, went to pick it up, and no one was out front for a bit to give me my drink. I was sooooo happy that they have Happy Lemon in Newark! I often go to the one in Tustin as I'm a huge fan of their tea drinks and bubble waffles! This place didn't disappoint. Not too busy (maybe due to the location?), good customer service, fast turnaround, and clean. If you come on Wednesday, you can order one and get second one 50% off. This review is for one of the salted cheese drinks I got. I got the Green Tea since it's my favorite type of tea and always wanted to try salted cheese. Apparently, I have to wait until my drink is almost finished and then I taste the one I've been waiting for. Kinda disappointed that mixing the liquid and the cheese doesn't work (could be how I do it). That could be me though. However, the green tea is good and the salted cheese is very flavorful. We love stopping by this Happy Lemon. it's become part of our weekend routine! It's close to my daughter's ballet class, and we often take the kids to the nearby farmers market and Costco, so it's the perfect treat stop in between errands. Even though there are a ton of tea shops around, I still repeat going to Happy Lemon as a regular. They are from the past generation of tea shops like T4, ShareTea and Gong Cha, which are all now kinda defunct, because taste and perception changes so fast in this boba crazed world. But my taste aren't so ready to always hop on the next trend. If I find something classic/solid then I will stick with it, Imma a ride and die type of compadre. Now there is really only one thing here that pulls me. Sure their lemon drinks are alright, great on a hot day. Their regular milk teas are suffice that I'd even rather get those from other places. But their milk tea with that salted cream on top ALWAYS hits for me. Even whether it is green or black tea, they are both equally good. And I've tried this drink elsewhere and Happy Lemon has the best and most consistent version. And they always put it in a cup with a lid that isn't sealed completely so you can take sips from the top, which is the best way to drink this drink. To actualy put that cream into your mouth and have the tea filter through each sip. And more places seem to seal your drink so you have to drink with a straw, which is not the deal for this. Sure you can mix everything which is fine, but not ideal for me. Also just recently tried their Waffle thing ($6ish), a Puffle which is what I like to call it, is pretty legit. It is always warm and when eaten within that first 10 minutes is the best as the edges are slightly crisp while the rest is nice and tender. And I like the regular one better than the matcha version as I liked the simple vanilla notes and the matcha didn't really come through for me. So yeah, 2 things that pull me here now. And this store is my go-to, convenient for me and the workers are always nice and mellow. They always tell me how long my wait is going to be. Not that I really care but seems like a nice gesture. Happy Lemons are all over the bay area, but I do feel like the taste of the drinks at this location are better than other Happy Lemons! The Green Tea with Salted Cheese was absolutely delicious. Even at 100% sweet, the drink wasn't too sweet and the cheese is definitely the star of this drink. I do wish the tea flavor was stronger. The ratio of tea to cheese is perfect and I feel like this location gives more cheese than other branches (which I prefer!). I also like this Happy Lemon more than the one in Fremont because the employees here are so much nicer. At the Fremont location, the employees tend to give me the cold shoulder and I'm straight up a little nervous going there because I haven't had great experiences with the employees that work there. At this location, the man at the counter was so sweet and pleasant to be around. This location is a bit further for me to go to, but if I'm ever craving Happy Lemon, this is the spot I'm going to go to! read more

This Happy Lemon is located in a semi-busy plaza, but there is usually plenty of parking if you do not mind parking a bit further away and walking over. There is some seating for you to enjoy your boba/dessert. The bubble waffles, drinks, and service quality has gone down. My friends and I waited a long time for our bubble waffles and drinks, even though we were the only ones here. The bubble waffles was a bit hard when we got them as well. This location is a Happy Lemon Premier, which I have never personally seen before so I wondered what that meant? I thought it'd be more drink selection but the selection look the same as other locations! I got my usual, the Mango Matcha, and it was really good! My group also got the Boba Bubble Waffle with Puff Cream. They gave a very generous amount of puff cream! I would definitely return to have this again! Hands down that this Happy Lemon got the bestest bubble waffle! Every time I'm in this area, I have the urge and must stop by here for an original bubble waffle. They make it so good!! It's not soggy and the bubble waffle have this QQ chewy taste to it!! It's a must get if you're into that Hong Kong street food "雞蛋仔" :) At Happy Lemon, they do have an extensive list of drink options you can choose from but in my opinion, their most popular drinks will probably be the A1 Green Tea with Salted Cheese or A2 Black Tea with Salted Cheese. The drinks here are made fresh by order and they can adjust most of the drinks sugar or ice level here. The boss here is super nice and have the patience to tell you what each drink entails if you have questions. The shop is always kept neat and clean. Came in on Christmas Eve to pick up a sweet treat for my family, and was just so impressed by the wonderful and friendly staff at this Happy Lemon location! Located right next to Newpark Mall and Newark Memorial High School. It's nestled in the middle of a strip mall so there's plenty of parking, although the area can get pretty busy. I have had Happy Lemon from other locations before and really enjoy their cheese series. I ended up getting the black tea with salted cheese during this particular trip, as well as a mango matcha for my parents, and a matcha bubble waffle. Everything came out delicious! After ordering, I noticed the salted cheese ice cream and I wish I would have ordered that! I'll definitely have to pick that up next time! HUGE shoutout to the staff working Christmas Eve. Matcha flavor is balance very slightly bitter and the right amount of sweetness to balance. Original is good too. The chocolate is okay. I like the texture of the waffle. Reminds me of a soft mochi dessert with a crispy outer shell. Ask the cashier about a rewards card - you can take a picture of it and show them each time to earn those reward points. Other places need this! I ordered a Oreo Tiramisu Milk Tea & a Green Tea Cheese Foam with Grass Jelly. Both of them tasted great, and were refreshing and delicious. I also ordered a bubble waffle here, and it wasn't that good, that's why I took a star off. Although, Howie did say they added a little butter to the machine, therefore it would taste a little more buttery, then usual, and that it should still be very similar. I wasn't too much of a fan but, it was still fresh and edible. Good Boba and super quick service. Their boba milk tea is delicious and $5. They have slightly firmer/chewier boba than a lot of other boba joints.
