I visited Tea Moment yesterday in the afternoon after I finished doggie sitting nearby. I've had this place bookmarked for a while now because I love their cute cow logo. So cute! Plenty of parking outside. When I went into the store about 2pm, it was empty. I'm pretty sure this place would be popular with the youngsters when they get off of school because they have some arcade games, drinks, & snacks. I ordered a Lychee Green Tea & Popcorn Chicken via their machine. It was easy to order on there. Then the guy asked if I would like some tokens while I wait. He gave me four tokens to use while I was waiting, and they were complimentary. I used them on the claw machines, but I didn't win anything. It was still fun and very nice that he offered me the tokens. I got my drink within about 5 mins. Very fast! Then I waited a few more minutes, and I got my Popcorn Chicken. I forgot to grab the sweet Thai chili sauce that they had some there. It was pretty yummy. A bit dry, but still flavorful though. I found this spot using Yelp. I decided to check it this place out. This spot has a cool vibe claw machines and a couple of arcade games near the entrance. It was pretty cool seeing a truck set up inside the store stocked with a variety of Asian snacks. I really liked the interesting flavors they offered that you don't usually find elsewhere. I had ordered the brown sugar milk tea with cheese cream on top. I had also requested the cotton candy around the cup and paid extra to have it served in the light bulb cup. Unfortunately, instead of communicating to me that they couldn't use the light bulb cup, they just gave it to me in a regular cup and didn't even include the cotton candy around it. It was Friday night and their "buy one get one free" promo on DoorDash was enticing.. It was definitely a gamble if their milk tea was going to be decent, especially since you can't adjust the sweetness or anything through DoorDash. Unfortunately, it didn't meet the mark. I'm not sure if it was the brew of the tea or the flavor of the ice, but it tasted off-putting and watered down at the same time. It was actually a good thing that we weren't able to adjust the sweetness because any less sweeter and the drink would have been equivalent to straight-up bitter water. This place has been on my list to try for a bit since it's a mom and pop shop and I love supporting local businesses. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy. The worker was super nice and helped us with questions we had about the menu. I ordered an ube taro milk tea with boba and it was ready in about 5 minutes. We also got 5 arcade tokens with our purchase which was so cool as I've never seen that before. There was also a cute snack cart with Japanese crackers, chips, and sweets you could purchase. The ube taro milk tea was okay in my opinion. It was kind of bland as it tasted more like a black milk tea and I couldn't really taste an ube or taro flavor in it. My boyfriend got the creme brulee top tea and that drink was a bit better as the creme brulee gave it more flavor than mine. The boba was a bit on the softer size and wasn't simmered in honey or black sugar so it didn't really have a taste. I loved the interior decoration, the theme music could easily be "moooo" if they wanted to. I liked the arcade machines there, which made it fun to hang out in. I got some tokens to play and let's just say good aim isn't enough. The Vietnamese coffee is very strong and bold, full of coffee flavor and caffeine that will keep you awake. Such a cute tea cafe and the decorations are adorable. So crazy they have a van inside with so many snack variety you can purchase with your drinks. After you purchase your drink you get a few free coins so you can play on the arcade or claw machine. I thought that was pretty neat. My son really enjoy the brown sugar milk tea with boba. The Vietnamese ice coffee was just brewed. The staff did informed us and we still wanted them over ice. Vietnamese ice coffee is super strong. Fine if I'm in the area but not really somewhere I'm dying to revisit. I ordered the hot ube taro milk tea at 50% sweet and it was still sooooooo sweet. I cannot imagine 100% sweetness. I also couldn't taste much taro or ube flavor. My sister told me her matcha milk tea at 50% sweet was also overly sweet. I've also had their egg waffle on a previous visit and it was nothing standout. They give you arcade tokens to play with each purchase. Their claw machines aren't worth it cuz they push their prizes down so nothing is loose and their claw strength is set really weak. You likely will not win a prize ever lol. Had the Creme Brulee Milk Tea hot. The Creme Brulee on top of the milk tea was pretty thick, not stingy portion at all. The Creme Brulee was less sweet than others I've had. But it also had less caramel flavor. The milk tea itself was ok. It had an actual leaf aftertaste. They give you tokens for the claw machine and arcade games. My first time here was yesterday, even though I've seen this place on Yelp and thought it's cute. My take: -Staff is friendly and my drink came out pretty fast. -Disappointed that the lowest sugar option isn't 0%, but 25% is the lowest here for all drinks. I'm trying to get used to not having sugar in my drinks, so it would help for people like me to have this option so they can maintain this. -I didn't try the drink I got right away, an Ube Taro Milk tea and I think that when I tried it, it may have been better if I had tasted it when it was more fresh. Disappointed is an understatement. We ordered a large amount of food and drinks. We got the fried baby octopus, popcorn chicken, fried tofu and spam musubi. We also ordered milk teas. My brother in law's milk tea didn't look appetizing, it looked so watered down. He described it as if it was water that you see after you mop the floors. Well it looked like it too. He didn't even drink it and was so disappointed. The food. Fried baby octopus is supposed to be small bite size things. Instead we were met with what looked like an adolescent octopus that was brutally murdered and fried. The batter wasn't even cooked well and it was mushy. It wasn't bite sized at all. The fried tofu was salty and just felt like we were eating air. The popcorn chicken was okay. Spam musubi was not good. Might want to fix the food items or at least bring back the baby octopus from your previous vendor because no one wants to eat a giant octopus. These are supposed to be bite sized hence the name. I had a rather enjoyable time at Tea Moment. The staff is friendly and attentive and the shop is spacious enough to chat with friends or play card/board games with them. Love how it never got too busy or overpacked. Regarding drink quality, I would just say that the drinks are either average or slightly better than average. My boyfriend and I ordered the Strawberry Yogurt Tea and Lychee Yogurt Tea - both were a bit on the sweeter side, but refreshing nevertheless. Love that the place is open late (close 10:30pm on Saturdays), that's actually the main reason we chose this spot among all others in the vicinity that close between 9-10pm or earlier. I think this tea shop is meant for a younger crowd. I say this because their options are meant for people have the metabolism for what they offer. There are no decaf or unsweetened drink versions. For me, that was impossible. I'm not old but I'm also not young. I'm a big fan of being able to order an unsweetened tea drink but not even having that choice here means I can't give high marks for this place. All the drinks were "fun" flavors. IDK how people love this spot at all. if I could I would give this tea shop 0 stars but the cotton candy was the only decent thing I got. The boba I ordered was damn near flavorless, I did not taste any boba at all. It was more of a water down tea drink if you ask me with no flavor at all. I was very disappointed to say the least. I really only come in here for one this: Salt & Pepper Fried Tofu! This place is such a mood booster. The entire place itself represents dopamine decor for sure. Though I came in the middle of the day, I can see this being a fun hangout spot given that there's lots of seating and is open late. I ordered a tropical fruit tea and popcorn chicken. The prices are the same as most boba places in the South Bay (maybe a little more for some drinks) but the portions are ginormous. I could easily make this into two meals if I'm not starving, there's that much. The service was friendly, efficient, and exceeded my expectations. When you enter you can already tell the place is very vibey - music, lightning, set up and crews were nice. They have a truck of different snacks which immediately caught our attention. A couple things that stood out from this place were definitely the decorations like the huge bear bricks, the truck inside the store with snacks available to purchase, and the claw machine (if you buy a drink or a snack you get 2 free tries!). My friends got the melon yogurt and the brown sugar. The melon yogurt is pretty interesting as I've never had the combo before! The brown sugar milk tea doesn't wow me and had no strong taste to it.
