I love this Tapioca Express. Their drinks never miss and I appreciate their late hours when it seems every other boba place around here is closed by 10pm. I usually get their snow bubble drinks and they're always blended very well, no random ice chunks. Also, unlike the majority of boba places, this location offers small boba as a topping! Their waffle fries are very good and they offer a wide variety of snacks with halal options. Have only had good customer service experiences here, the staff are courteous and upbeat. I started coming here more over the last 1-2 months because it's close by in a super convenient location and they have great deals on TGTG. It's also a little bit of nostalgia because my very first boba was at a TapEx down the street from where I lived back in junior high. Although I wouldn't say the drinks here are the best I've ever had, service is friendly and quick, it's open late, and it satisfies my boba cravings. At this point, this is probably also one of the few boba places around where it doesn't cost almost $10 for a drink once tax/tip are factored in. This Tapioca Express location is in a big, but semi-quiet plaza. There is plenty of parking here as well. Only a couple of other customers inside, who already ordered and looked like they have been sitting there for a good minute before we arrived, but they still did not get their orders. 15-20 minutes after we arrived and ordered, they finally got their order and we did not get our order for at least another 5-10 more minutes (my friends and I only ordered 1 drink each, so 3 drinks in total). Kind of crazy that it took almost half an hour to get a few drinks and it was nearly empty inside. I tried the Jasmine Milk Tea with boba, since I thought it was decent / not too bad last time - I ordered a large this time. Unfortunately, it was horrible and it definitely did not taste like last time, so what a waste of money and time. The milk tea was overly sweeten and it tasted more like a strong tea like more of a black tea base than a jasmine tea. My family was visiting for the first time. The Tapioca Express in my city closed down but luckily this location didn't disappoint. The dining area was nice and cozy with some board or card games for the kids. The gentleman that took our order was nice and friendly. Got 2 drinks and fries from too good to go! We were pleasantly surprised with our bag as we got a milk tea and this green drink which I think is wintermelon? The milk tea was delicious; it was perfectly sweet and the tea flavor was well balanced with the sweetness. The wintermelon drink was okay; I'm just not a fan of wintermelon so this wasn't my favorite. We also got fries as well and they tasted like Cajun fries and were flavorful as well. Went to this branch as it was one of the only ones open at the time (10:45 PM). The sign said they take pickup orders until 11:30 which I thought was great since most establishments close early. I got my go-to TapEx drink, which is the Snow Bubble. The snow bubble tastes great, seemed very fresh and is the same drink I always get. The drink selection was smaller, but it seems that the staple drinks are available here. The drinks were made quite quick too and the staff were very friendly. Another tap ex spot located close to home. I enjoy the fact that tap ex have both drinks and snacks that can be bought all at one sitting. want a quick snack while you pick up your boba, sure! Tapex to the rescue! I have been coming to these locations as a teen in high school til now. I feel that tap ex was prolly one of the first ones around town before all the boba pop ups started to come along. some of my all time fave to order here are the slushes and popcorn chicken. Milk tea is so expensive nowadays! As a millennial some times I just miss the affordable and average tapioca milk tea from the early 2000s just to satisfy a sweet tooth. I swung by for an assam milk tea with boba and it tasted like the good old days when boba was under $8 everywhere. No public restrooms. I got a fruit tea, milk tea, and spicy onion rings for less than $10 - the milk tea had just the right sugar level, making it go down easy without being overly sweet, and paired with the onion rings, truly hit the spot! The store was still relatively busy around closing hour, and it's located in south Fremont in a strip mall with not much else around (the parking lot can be a bit spooky at night, so be aware if you're alone). Made the wrong choice to stop by to fill a late night boba craving. I ordered the honeydew fresh snow bubble and was surprised that the drink turned out to be bright green. It tasted like a honeydew flavored slushie, which is fine if that's what I ordered but I ordered a honeydew FRESH and I expected it to be made of fresh fruit, not syrup. Just by looking at the menu, there was a lot of food/drinks option to choose from. I chose the mango & peach snow bubble with mango jelly and a small box of macarons. I remember how tapex used to be popular back when I was in high school or even earlier but I never had the chance to check it out. I know there are a few other tapex location surrounding the bay, but this is my first time going to a tapex and this location to redeem my prize. The mango & peach snow bubble (smoothie) was actually pretty good. The combo of mango & peach can never go wrong, and it always hits the spot if you want something fruity and refreshing. The macarons was ehh for a boba spot to have. Of course, it doesn't beat French macarons, but I got it for free, so can't complain too much. I tried to look at their website if they had a description of what flavors they are, but couldn't find any, so I had to guess by the taste and color. I assume the yellow is lemon, green is pistachio, red is berry, and not sure what brown is. It had barely any flavor. Will I go back? Maybe, but not at this location. Finally stopped in to try the halal Tapioca express yes I said Halal. The one joy of living in the bay is the chance of one of your favorite chains being HALAL. We ordered the chi chi fries and popcorn chicken for the kids. There are five different level of spice level depending on you liking. No spice, Mild, spicy, extra spicy, and only spicy. For the older kids we did level 3 spicy and for kids we did mild. It was tolerable and no complaints. Yes for us adults we took it up a notch and went number five, extra spicy. As it was a cold evening we added Okinawa hot tea: a mixture brown sugar honey with tea to wake up your day. But I have to say it was super super sweet. I did dilute it with black tea. I think In the future I'll have to ask for less sugar. But I'm sure if it was iced It would have been perfect. They are a newbie in the area, grand opening was in May. Sidhart Waited on us and helped us with our orders. My kids love boba and usually know the menu better then I. I'm always lost and still in search of my most perfect cold and hot drink. First time going to this tapioca express. I always go to the one in union city. I prefer the milk tea at union city. It tastes better there. I ordered a large milk tea with small tapioca. My mom got a mango snow with boba. I preferred her drink over mine and she got 75% sweet. The mango that was included was hard but that was the only downside of the drink she got. I also liked the large tapioca in her drink and I rarely like large tapioca for drinks. I would come here again and order a mango snow. read more

Decided to try this place. The drinks are pretty good and sweet. The crispy halal chicken was pretty good, a little over cooked so it was pretty hard to chew but it would have tasted better. Molasses milk latte was sooooo good! Next time I plan on getting it 50% because 75% was still pretty sweet. I would try this place again. The service was great, they were very friendly. So excited to see a halal tapex!! I've always missed out on the classic boba + popcorn chicken, so I was really hype to give it a chance. I got a mango green tea (75% sweet, less ice) w half lychee half aloe with a popcorn chicken (4/5 spicy). Mango green tea was good, bit too sweet, but every boba shop has their own scale, I'll just keep that in mind for next time (note: after ordering, I saw that they had a fresh fruit tea series as well! def sounds more interesting). Popcorn chicken was tasty! Hot and well seasoned, and the sweet chili sauce was also super good with it. Only complaint though is that while I was eating the popcorn chicken, I got two fried whole garlic cloves. Came in on a Monday at around 11:45am. After placing the order, the machine to pay with card/Apple Pay completely froze and stopped working. I ended up having to pay with cash (luckily I had enough cash on me). The worker gave me a free upgrade on my mango snowbubble for the payment inconvenience which was nice. One thing I am pretty disappointed about is the amount of popcorn chicken given to me in my order. It's already a small snack bag to begin with and for $7 I wish they could have at least filled the bag, but they only gave me half the bag as shown in the photo.
