TeaTop is a nice boba shop in a plaza with many other Asian restaurants, making it the perfect snack or dessert shop after a meal. I couldn't resist trying a drink and picked up the Panda Milk Tea, since it was on a 15% discount. The boba was fresh and just the right texture, not too chewy and not too hard, but at 30% sugar was a still too much for me. Upon leaving, I noticed that the staff member never applied the 15% discount promotion that they had going on. Rather than calmly correcting the error, he made the most disgruntled face and opened the cash register, flinging a couple coins at me - nowhere near 15%. Although I enjoyed the boba and would have liked trying the next drink at 0%, I'm turned away by the rude interaction with the staff member. +1 for the boba, though, because that was genuinely good otherwise.
My go-to drink is #19 Signature Alpine Green Milk Tea because I really like the tea flavor. It seems unique because I haven't seen this tea name in other stores before. I like how the cashier always offers a stamp card without me asking. The stamp card is only for this Newark store, and it is buy 10, get one free. Based on going here more than four times in the evening, there is lots of empty seating inside, and it was easy to find free parking in the lot. Definitely coming back here again to try other flavors like Sun Moon Lake Milk Tea and Winter Melon Alpine Green Tea.
Tea? Yes! Boba? Yes! Decaf drinks? Yes! Wifi? Yes! If you haven't been, welcome the new tea shop in town! Coming in with fresh made tea from leaves procured from Taiwan, TeaTop is making an impression. The tea is flavorful and the toppings are always fresh. They have a variety of toppings and are available to sample if they're new to you. The boba is chewy and made fresh. If caffeine is not your cup of tea, then you'll be happy to hear that they have a variety of non-caffeinated drinks including slushies and juices. Also fear not lactose-intolerant friends! All their milk items are lactose free! Now if you're adventurous, you'll be surprised to hear that they host a number of specials each month at a discount. Speaking of discounts, they have some other deals including buy two get one free Wednesdays and Fridays and bring your own (BYO) cup discount. The discounts come in handy given that the drinks here are slightly higher priced than other places, however the size of the standard drinks and the quality makes it fair. It's extremely comfortable to hang out here as they have plenty of clean seats and booths, free wifi, air conditioning, a working bathroom, easy parking, quick access to the highway and personable staff. Located just across the street from New Park Mall and Newark Memorial High School, you have no reason not to come give TeaTop a shot! Overall, I enjoy their tea drinks a lot and the deals are great incentives to bring a friend with you in your milk tea exploration. If they were open earlier, they may even rival the Starbucks across the street in the morning!
Was looking for a boba spot/something sweet after having dinner in this plaza and TeaTop was just about to close. They have a wide variety of drinks and toppings, as well as games and seating inside. Lately green milk teas with boba have been my go to and they really have been giving me a caffeine boost and keeping me awake when I need it. So I got their Signature Alpine Green Milk Tea with boba, less sweet with less sugar. I really enjoyed it. The workers were very kind, quick, and friendly. Nice spot to hang out with friends, I also like how they post their top drinks on the menu and the walls. My friends got some other drinks that were also really good. Something with egg pudding and red bean. Parking is super easy since it' located within a shopping plaza.
Love this spot its one of my go toos i live how they have the card stamps for this visit i got thai tea 50% sweet and honestly it was pretty sweet for being 50% next time i would go 30% but that was probably because i added boba and grass jelly to it overall it was yummy and so is there other drinks ive tried other times! Service is quick and i love how drinks are made pretty quick and right away too, very welcoming!
With signage up about their origins from a premium tea brewing business, I expected my drink to have high quality tea taste to compliment fresh fruit flavors. This was sadly not the case. I ordered the Passion Green Tea Medley, which I had high hopes for as it is listed as one of TeaTop's top 10 recommendations. The drink comes with lychee jelly and boba, which was very competitively priced for the size of the drink at just $5.95. Despite the aforementioned items, I found the drink to be too artificially sweet even at 30%. And the passion fruit taste to be artificial, rather than deriving from fresh passion juice. Overall, I found the drink just be to okay. There are definitely better options in the highly saturated boba market throughout the Newark/Fremont area. The shop itself is located at the tail end of the strip mall, on the quieter side.
Got the oolong tea with fresh milk. I like how the taste of the tea blends well with the milk and I could taste the flavor of the tea. Good quality tea. I had it with less ice and 30% sugar and it's perfect for me. I wouldn't want it in to be sweeter as the boba, which had a great chewiness to it, was already made sweet. I don't do well with caffeine but I could still sleep after drinking it at 3pm. It's nice to hangout here with free wifi and spacious tables
This is a great spot to stop by if you're in the area or just had food nearby. My go-to drink here is their Earl Grey milk tea, the tea flavor really comes through, and the sweetness is just right. I also tried the milk tea with red beans, and while it was decent, I probably wouldn't order it again. Overall, it's a solid choice for milk tea lovers who enjoy drinks with a strong, real tea flavor. Definitely a place I'd recommend if you're craving something refreshing!
Almost forgot to leave a review -- and that would've been a crime, because this place seriously deserves it. Hands down, this was the BEST tasting boba I've ever had in my life. I'm not even exaggerating -- I've had a lot of boba, but nothing even comes close to this. If you're reading this and thinking about what to order, do yourself a favor and try the pearls matcha latte. It was spectacular. I mean, it's the kind of drink that makes you want to stare into space and rethink your life decisions because nothing else you do today will top it. Also, I have to give a huge shoutout to a young man named Christian who helped me out. He was seriously awesome -- super friendly, super patient, and clearly knew his stuff. Christian deserves a raise, a medal, and maybe even his own holiday. If there were an Employee Hall of Fame, he'd be the first one inducted. It's not every day you find someone who makes the whole experience even better with just how genuine and helpful they are. Bottom line: If you're craving boba, this is the place. If you're lucky enough to have Christian help you, consider it your lucky day. 10/10 -- would recommend to everyone, their mom, and even their neighbor's cat.
Was in the area doing errands & wanted a refreshing drink. Quick service & pretty good drinks. Ordered my usual jasmine milk tea (I order this everywhere I go as a baseline) and got red bean matcha which was pretty good & pretty layers. Downside, no snacks. Prices are comparable to most boba places but when tax is added, it's on the pricier side and even cost more than my Starbucks drink! I'm not from East Bay so I'm not used to the higher sales tax rate. Since this place have minimal seating & most folks prob don't sit/dine-in, no hot foods, they should ask customers "for here or to go" as sales tax not due for "to go" drinks. It may be easier to charge sales tax on all sales but not easy on customers' wallets as this establishment probably does not qualify under the 80-80 rule of sales tax like McDonald's charging tax on all sales even on a McFlurry, but like a ToGos/Subway/deli places that doesn't charge tax on cold sandwiches togo.
Can we make it a rule that boba tea places have a menu that list out their top 10 popular drinks to narrow down your options? First time visiting TeaTop and would definitely try additional options. From their Top 10 I choose the #9 Grapefruit w/ green tea and crushed ice. It comes in a large cup with grapefruit pulp and green tea. You can choose your level of sweetness and toppings. They had mango pudding! Which I haven't seen before but didn't feel like it would've been a good option for my drink, but boy do I want to try that for a future drink. The green tea was refreshing and brewed well and they provided a light amount of ice which I actually appreciated as it kept my drink cold but didn't become a filler for my drink, I had a lot of grapefruit pulp and tea in my cup. The inside has a few seats but customers were mostly grabbing it to go. Our drinks came out pretty quick too! Worth a visit if you want to try a different boba spot.
One of my favorite boba places in the Bay, it's definitely one of the better quality Taiwanese boba places with authentic taiwanese teas!! Prices are reasonable, and drinks are a good size. Always a plethora of toppings in your drink, they don't skimp on that. This location is nestled in a plaza right next to Newark Memorial HS, off Mowry. There's also a Happy Lemon in this plaza, but I obviously prefer to come here! Service is always friendly (and they're open during this shelter-in-place) and efficient. There's seating inside that would normally seat about 20 people. Lots of parking throughout the entire plaza. My favorite - Fresh milk trifecta #2: always get it with ez ice, it comes with boba, grass jelly and red bean. And on the bright side there isn't any caffeine since it's made with just fresh milk, so if you are looking for something that won't keep you up at all, this is the drink. Love the texture of the chewy boba, the red bean always adds a little sweetness, and the smooth grass jelly is always a nice touch. I always bring my own metal straw as they don't sell them here (they should lol). And don't forget to grab a stamp card! buy 10 get 1 free. The earl grey #6 is my mom's favorite, and it comes with 3 toppings (boba, pudding, grass jelly i believe). Used to be my favorite but I've moved on now :') read more

The tea flavor is pretty good But the boba is a bit hard. I like chewy boba but this a bit hard not sure if it undercook or not. But overall it good. Next time i probly get other topping. read more
Today is National Boba Day and I thought it was convenient to try out a new boba joint!! Visited TeaTop and first thoughts; they did a very nice job on quarantining and closing off the space! Enjoyed the JPark video being played too. I tried the brown sugar jasmine milk tea with boba and it was something new... I've always had brown sugar black tea so this was a twist, quite tasty tho! TeaTop has easily made its way on to my Top 5 boba places with its fast & friendly service, high quality tea, and the sweet scent of boba lingering in the atmosphere. Although I usually assess boba places multiple times before making a review, I've only tried TeaTop two times and was satisfied each time. The first time I tried TeaTop was at the Milpitas location. Several months later, I heard they were opening a Newark location (which happens to be close to me (; ) and I knew I had to go back. I came to TeaTop on a warm Saturday around 1-2pm (7/21/18). As I came inside, I was happy to feel the rush of cold air and no person in front of me in line. I was also greeted by a welcoming face of the cashier (didn't get to catch her name). The girl working behind the cashier was very helpful when we asked her about certain drinks like the Earl Grey 3Q (boba, coconut jelly, and herbal jelly/grass jelly). That deserved a star for the amazeballs customer service alright. Now, let's talk about the menu. TeaTop offers a variety of drinks like most boba places do, however they do have tea options that those boba places do not have. For example, they have the Sun Moon Lake Black tea (and milk tea if you want something more creamy), Darjeeling Black Tea, Alpine Green Tea, and Brown sugar Jasmine Milk tea (oh my gaw that sounds good). In addition, they also give you options to adjust your sugar and ice levels to your desire. TeaTop offers toppings such as boba, egg pudding, coconut jelly, mango pudding, grass jelly, mung bean, sago, and Ai-Yu all for 50 cents each. The prices of the menu are are ranged between $3-5. Of course depending on what you get, the prices will increase as you look at the slushies and Milk foam. Be careful to look over the menu carefully as the drink prices under the same category aren't necessarily the same. What takes my breath away every single time and makes me come back here for more is their Sun Moon Lake Milk Tea. Let me tell you something, one sip of their Sun Moon Lake Milk tea and I was practically drooling. You can definitely still taste the roasted flavor of the tea within the creaminess of the milk. Even with adjusting the sweetness of 75% or 80%, the milk to tea ratio was still good. Whenever I go to boba places, I always switch between boba or pudding depending on my mood. I have been craving boba for the longest time, so that's I got as my topping with my Sun Moon Lake Milk Tea. And dang, their boba was good. It sure wasn't melt in your mouth material like Boba Guys or Teaspoon, but it was the perfect consistency of chewiness and softness. The boba itself had a slight taste of honey without being too overly sweet. The place itself is very clean and has 3-4 medium sized tables to fit a group of 5-7 people at most. I really like how they have a large boba milk tea display that was big enough to take pictures with and share on social media. The catch is that if you take a picture with the huge boba drink display and post on your story (insta, Facebook, etc), you'll get 10% off your order as long as you show proof. Pretty neat if ya ask me. Overall, TeaTop really hits all of the points that I look for in any boba or food place I go to. With their quick & clean service and TOP notch tea, I have no doubt that this place will continue to thrive. read more

Over the years the quality has stayed the same, and I'm glad to see them practicing safe COVID-19 guidelines; only 3 customers are allowed in the store at a time. I truly believe the saying, "Variety is the spice of life" but what do you do when you found your go-to drink? Because their Earl Grey Milk Tea - Less ice, 30% sweet is rocking my world. One thing I do notice is that every Tea Top location smells like stinky feet. Seriously, what is it? Lol. Is it the tea? I usually go to the Milpitas location but this place isn't too shabby either. Our party of 2 arrived around 7:30pm on a Thursday night. There was no line and plenty of indoor seating available. I ordered an iced brown sugar jasmine milk tea with boba and my friend ordered a hot oolong tea. The drinks were ready at a reasonable time and were made to our liking. I ordered my drink at 30% sweetness and it was perfect! The jasmine tea flavor could have been a bit stronger but overall, I would recommend it. read more

Was in the area for lunch when I noticed this place. I have never heard of them before so decided to try it out. First impression was bad service as the server (I think she was the owner) was on her phone the whole time I was trying to order and seemed annoyed when I asked questions about the menu. I got the 5th item on the top recommended menu, the taro milk tea with sago. It was so-so, drinkable but nothing special. There are way better places like Yifang (they have the best taro milk tea!) and Mr.Sun. Overall the quality is meh and combined with the rude service I will not be coming back. read more

I've gone to the TeaTop in Cupertino, and this one is about the same in quality. The cup sizes are HUGE and makes up for the slightly more expensive prices. The milk tea is pretty standard and the pearls are also good. For 50% sugar, it's still on the sweeter side. Service was quick and the parking is easy. Lots of tea options and a good option if you're in the area and with a larger party because they have a good amount of seating. read more

First time trying here. When entering the shop, not that busy. No greeting from the workers; in fact, he is busy looking at his ipad. Even when we are ordering, he just input to the computer and not really look at us. The peach green tea is absolutely not recommended while passion green tea medley is just OK. It's a great place to get boba. There's a good selection of drinks to choose from and there's a decent amount of seating. I ordered a jasmine milk tea with boba, light ice and 80% sweetness. The drink came out in less than 5 minutes and it tasted good - not too sweet or watered down. I would definitely come back to try some of the other items on the menu. read more

I have been here for a couple times. First time was disappointed. Oolong milk tea with 25% sugar less milk. I think it was my fault to get it in less creamy. I have learned and order the popular taro milk tea with sago in 25 sugar this time. It's very flavorful with taro chunks. There's so many boba places in tri-city. There's some unique choices like sun moon tea, will try it next time. read more

The owner(???he seems like) is very nice and friendly. He answered my question very patient. The tea is gooood! Very nice! I really like my oolong creama. The cream is heavy and salty and yummy! Was not super amazed by TeaTop, although I have to say right off the bat that I did receive very good customer service. I believe it was the manager/owner that answered all my questions (if you know me, I'm a boba fanatic so I usually take my time ordering haha) with such attentiveness. I honestly forgot what I got -- I even looked on the menu on Yelp and cannot for the life of me remember lol. My friend got the Mango Green Tea and she said it was decent. The pearls were not super flavorful either; in contrast, they were quite bland. Their consistency was nice and chewy though. 3 stars, mainly because of the nice customer experience. read more

My mom is a regular here. Do go on tuesdays for the ladies special, buy 2 get 1 free. My go to is the mango milk tea half sweet no ice. My mom gets the 3Q milk tea with no ice 25 sugar. My dad gets the passion green tea medley no ice. I recommend trying the mountain green tea half sugar no ice. read more

I arrived at TeaTop and there was a line of 2-3 people ahead of me. It seemed popular which was a good sign. The Alpine Green milk tea sounded unique, so I got that with boba. My drink tasted ok, but I wasn't impressed. The boba was soft and chewy, but I feel like there are other milk tea places that taste better. I also asked for "less ice" and to my surprise, after drinking my milk tea, my cup was almost half full of ice! I was disappointed, but by that time, I was already in my car and almost home. Maybe I'll ask for "no ice" if I come back again. Also, when did it cost $6+ for milk tea?! Yikes, inflation must be hitting hard. read more

The staff is always nice and their drinks are delicious! The prices are great too! They also have deals for lady's day on Tuesday and deals for Newark memorial highs students. They also have discounts for students and workers. One of my favorite boba places! Try their Thai tea it's my favorite! read more

Tried this boba spot, as they were open on Christmas Day. Really good boba and milk tea! All the iced drinks also come in super large cups which is great value! I got the Early Grey Milk tea with 3Q because I wanted a lot of toppings. It's boba, grass jelly, and coconut jelly (which I was skeptical about, but it worked!). Great for when I really crave boba and chewy goodness. The Sun Moon Lake black milk tea was good, but I think I may have covered up the great tea flavor with milk and sweetness. Finally, also got the Alpine Green Tea for my brother who doesn't like milk in his drink. It was really light and not too sweet, which is exactly what he was looking for. They also have a huge boba drink as decor which is fun. The service was solid - the people working were genuinely friendly and great! read more

Get the Sun Moon Lake (milk) tea! Besides that one, so far I've tried three different drinks from here so far and the Sun Moon Lake tea is my favorite. Really fragrant and not too sweet. You can either get it with or without milk, both are nice. The alpine green tea is a good choice as well. The third one I've tried is the passion fruit tea. While I appreciate that they used honey instead of syrup to sweeten this drink, it was still too sweet for my liking (even at 50%). I ended up sharing it with a friend. Bonus: I like that the menu is not too overwhelming with choices. They keep it relatively simple. read more
Tucked away in a tiny little plaza across from NewPark Mall is TeaTop. This was my first time trying TeaTop, so my friend and I went for two of the classics to get a feel for the place (Oolong Milk Tea and Earl Grey Milk Tea). The boba is fairly average, and the teas aren't bad either. I don't know - I can't say the drinks tasted terrible, but I didn't particularly like them either. Let's just say this place is inoffensive if you need your boba fix after a meal nearby. They only have one kinda large size ($4 / $4.50 with boba) so be prepared to drink a lot of tea. Oh and there's a loyalty program for a free drink after you buy 10 of them. Not sure if I'll be back enough times to take advantage of that though! read more

Not my cup of tea - mediocre drinks, poor service, plastic straws. I walked in on a weekday evening. There was one woman ahead of me in line and no one else inside the store besides the two employees. The cashier, featured in the photo, processed the lady's order and after finishing the transaction, the woman just stood there chatting with the employee making her drink. Instead of asking her to step aside, the cashier immediately went to her phone. I asked if I could place an order and before I could finish asking, the cashier rudely replied, "we will be with you in a minute." Great. The menu states the store can adjust sweetness and ice level. I typically go for beverages that are less sweet so I could enjoy the natural flavors. I was told sweetness couldn't be adjusted on the Taro Sago drink with no clear explanation. The response given was, "we can't do that, it's pre-made." I ended up purchasing it anyway. The drink would actually benefit with sweetener and was too grainy for my liking. Powdered drinks would have taste better. I do not recommend nor would I go again. read more

We just have whole milk but for our milk teas we use a non dairy creamer. You can always ask the staff about these questions and we will be happy to answer.

Yes they are open everyday But close early on Sunday and Monday (6:00 PM)
Does TeaTop do catering? I come regularly and wanted to order a large quantity or drinks for my daughter's birthday.
