This is my new obsession ... and guess what ... it's south! Woohoo! Since the first time I discovered them in Southpark Meadows shopping center, every time since then I've had to stop in! It's a cute little lounge spot on the inside. They have some comfortable furniture inside where groups of people can hang out, chill and play games or get on the internet. They do have free wifi here too! My first visit I played it safe and got the frozen strawberry banana with tapioca pearls. It was refreshing and delicious. Next I tried the frozen tropical matcha green tea and then the banana smoothie both with tapioca! Both were all equally as good and refreshing! I love the big fat straws and the chewiness of the tapioca every time! I didn't realize how much I was needing a tapioca place south ... It is perfect! read more

I needed a break from my usual tapioca place for the day and decided to make a morning trip out to Teapioca Lounge with a friend. First of all, the feel here is supposed to be hip and happenin'. I think the bright green walls, the high couches, and the flat-screen tv definitely adds to this. It's certainly not a good place to study and I don't particularly like the ambience, but it's probably a good place to hang out and play board games. Second, their cream tea is pretty solid for the price and quantity, but nothing outstanding. They have about a thousand options of cream teas, slushes, and juices, as well as shaved ice, but I am always apt to judge a place by the quality of their milk tea. Though it's a little on the sweet side - I ordered it with half sugar, and it was still pretty sweet - the cream was not too overwhelming and the taste of the tea was present, but not as strong as I would prefer. They didn't have tapioca this morning, so I got it with baby tapioca and egg pudding - yum. My friend ordered the hot taro cream tea, and it was really creamy and delicious. Granted, it was made with taro powder and probably a lot of sugar, but it was still yummy, and the heat definitely balanced out the sweetness a bit. Teapioca Lounge is not wonderful, but it's definitely a place to get a lot of milk tea for a good price - I ended up paying $6.77 for a large cream tea with pudding and baby tap as well as a relatively large hot taro cream tea. read more

Tapioca has been been amazing every time since my first review 5 years ago. This is my favorite tapioca place. If you can't deal with the long lines? Oh, how I want to like this place. However, this particular Teapioca Lounge does not deliver. I mean, I enjoy the product they sell. But a place like this should be much more. As such, I will have to make the trek to their north location when in need of Snow Ice. For my review of Teapioca Lounge's ostensibly awesome desserts, see my review for the Parmer Lane location. Both times that I went to the Teapioca Lounge at Southpark Meadows, I had issues using coupons. The first time was an offer from either Google, Living Social, or Groupon for their Snow Ice desserts. I went one evening to redeem the coupon, arriving about a half-hour before the shop closed. Upon arrival, I was informed that the Snow Ice machine had been shut down for the evening. The coupon was only for Snow Ice desserts and the staff was unable (or refused) to provide a comparable deal. I vowed to not return to the Southpark Meadows location. Fool me once. Then I moved to South Austin. I had a hankerin' for some Snow Ice, so I decided to give Teapioca Lounge another try. After all, the Parmer Lane store hadn't disappointed. This time, there was a Yelp check-in offer (and as of March 27, 2014, it's still up). I checked in and claimed it. Clicked on "Redeem Your Check-In Offer" and alerted the cashier about my offer. She then pointed out that the offer had expired in October 2013. But the managers had never bothered to take it down. Again, I was not offered a comparable deal. Fool me twice. Essentially, I feel that Teapioca has employed a bait-and-switch tactic not once but twice. This is not the kind of place I enjoy patronizing. read more

I've spent years getting smoothies from this company and different locations and at this location I was constantly told how I won't like a certain flavor combo when as a customer I'm like I know what I want (I've had this combo for years) - I know what it taste like and constantly being warned how if I don't like it they won't take it back. So very rude and I chose not to argue. Never had anyone tell me what I'm going to like or not like at any location I've been to in Austin or San Marcos until my first time here when I was clear of what I wanted. I was impressed with the selection when I walked in to this place. They have a good variety of milk teas and smoothies, along with shaved ice and even taiyaki. It takes them a while to get through the orders, but I wasn't upset by it. The teas themselves were wonderful! We got a matcha milk tea with tapioca and a peach white tea with lychee bursters. Very refreshing and very good. The atmosphere was nice and quiet, and I think I will be back again! Great place! My husband and I went in for a quick boba pickup and even though the line was long, we were up at the front within 5 minutes. My husband ordered the new Mangonada drink they were promoting and LOVED it. I had the Honeydew Cream with Tapioca and it was so fresh and yummy! Boba to drink ratio was perfect and did not leave me with a ton of drink and no boba at the end like a lot of places do. We will definitely be coming again when we're back in the area! read more

This place has slipped off. I've been coming here since it open but on my last 3 times here, The service time has increased tremendously. Seems short staffed. I walked in today and I was 3rd in line. The problem was there was about 10 people standing around waiting on their orders. Walked in at 8:30pm ordered at 8:34 and received my order at 8:54pm for 2 drinks. Pretty Disappointing! read more

I came here for the first time today to check them out. When I first arrived there was a sign saying that they would be opening an hour later due to a meeting. Ok, I can deal with that. So, I wet shopping around different stores in the same shopping center to kill some time and get some things done. I arrived back at teapioca an hour and a half later and they are still closed. If you are going to have your store hours posted, you should probably stick to it. If there's a meeting that needs to be held, then it should be gel outside those hours or have different employees run the store Not only that, but if your going to take the time to put up assign that says we will open at 11 today instead of 10, them you should probably open at 11. I give the management if this place two thumbs down. Learn to run a business :( As for the product that this place sells, I cannot attest as I have yet to try anything they have :( read more

Smoothie was great but customer service... I give them a zero out of ten.. First off.. be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes during peak hours.... they take their time to make your drink and will go out of order. People who ordered behind you may get their order before you. The prices seem to change frequently. It's no uniform way to add or substitute ingredients in your drink. Lastly.. asking customers if they would like to tip... tacky.. as well as awkward. Customers can't discreetly decide the amount or even if they want to tip.. if you choose not to.. they seem to catch an attitude and take longer with your drink.. Like its Northern counterpart, Teapioca lounge easily wins the award for best boba in Austin. Definitely, definitely get a cream tea: you won't regret the extra calories. I highly recommend the honeydew cream tea: it tastes like a liquidated melona bar if you know what that is but less sweet. Woohoo! At first it feels pricey, at $3.50 for boba, but then you realize a. you're in Austin, b. the quality is really really good,c. its $3.50 with the boba, d the size it comes in is the equivalent of a large anywhere else and e.. there's a google deal for 30% off +5% off for cash + groupon floating around making it much cheaper than the aforementioned $3.50. Got the green tea smoothie and was not disappointed. It had a pretty damn good balance of sugar and green tea and it passed my ice test..which is pretty much like if you go to any starbucks and order a frap there and wait 15 minutes, if the ice and coffee separates then it fails the test...well this smoothie passed...though idk if it's because I liked it so much that I drank it so fast or it actually passed because it didn't separate after 15 minutes.. haha. At 3.75 it was reasonably priced too..though Idk if tapioca pearls is extra or something but the guy i asked if I wanted them so I said i wanted to replace them with almond pudding...+50 cents. It's alright, though i wouldn't recommend it, stick to the tapioca because I heard it's good anyway. Anyways, the cashier was pretty unclear and was hard to communicate with but w.e. This is one of my favorite boba shops for slushees and smoothies! Tea here isn't particularly great but I love the smoothies. They use real fruit so I enjoy tasting the bits of fruit they put into the smoothies. I've gotten a piña colada and mango smoothie here and it was creamy and delicious! I loved it! The boba here is squishy and just the right consistency and a bit sweet! The aesthetic is nice and it's okay for studying. A bit loud so I'd come here to hang out only. I'll be back! read more

At first the amount of different drinks can be a bit overwhelming. The first time I went I got a strawberry green tea with strawberry jelly but it just wasn't for me. The second time I got a honeydew with tapioca and it was so good! Not only do they have amazing drinks but they also have free wifi and games! Who doesn't love that? My tapioca drink addiction began in my early teens in Houston. When I moved to Austin teapioca lounge off Parmer was the only place I would go to get my fix. I was so happy that they opened this south location near where I live. My two main drinks are avocado/coconut smoothie & ice cream coffee/coffee jelly They also have shaved ice cream that they call milky flurry. I have tried all flavors and love them all! This is my go-to place in Austin. Every time I drop by Austin, I head over to Tea Lounge. I used to stash up and buy an extra drink so I could drink it in the next morning. I love the milk tea with egg pudding. It's basic, but so good! You can taste the tea and the sugar isn't overpowering. I've also had the Thai tea and oreo cookie smoothie, and they're both really good. Make sure to check in on yelp for a 15% discount off the entire order. I've calculated and that's a better discount than the stamp card. Unfortunately when you use the yelp discount, they won't give you a stamp on the stamp card. However, if you're looking for a refreshing drink on a hot day, it gets the job done. I had the strawberry green tea and it was a nice juice drink. I waited a few minutes to be acknowledged to order, then wasn't given an estimate for how long it would take. If you are busy, it's common courtesy to let the customer know of a wait. In my opinion, Teapioca is probably the best place to get bubble tea in Austin! Their bubble tea is not powdery or artificial tasting like some other places and the customer service is great! The price is also pretty fair at $3-4 for the size of the drink (they only have large size). Sometimes if you don't like the drink they will remake it for you for free! My favorite drinks to get here are the Taro milk tea with herbal jelly and the Passionfruit green tea with aloe vera. Occasionally I also get the regular milk tea with boba and the hazelnut milk tea is also great if you want to try something new! If you like red bean, there is a red bean smoothie that is pretty good as well. You can also ask for less sugar in your drinks! I usually get no sugar or less sugar because the drinks are already pretty sweet (for my taste, but some people like sweeter drinks). In the winter you can also get hot milk tea to warm yourself up! There are also lots of board games so you can come hang out with friends here! There's also lots of outlets if you want to study but sometimes it's pretty noisy! read more
