I've been ordering from this Gong Cha on W William Cannon for years, usually three or four times a week. At this point, the afternoon pick-me-up has its own household budget. All of my orders have been through the usual delivery apps, so I can only speak to the drinks and delivery experience, but they've been consistently good. The menu is extensive, with milk teas, fruit drinks, smoothies, milk foams, and plenty of seasonal concoctions. We tend to keep things simple. My usual is an XL iced Earl Grey, no milk or sugar. It's strong, tastes fresh, and is good on its own. At $5.54 before tax, I'm happy with what I'm getting. My husband's usual is a large Earl Grey milk tea with aloe vera and black pearls, which runs about $5.84. Their milk foam Earl Grey is also really nice, and both the black pearls and aloe vera have been consistently good. Orders arrive quickly and fresh, and they get our customizations right most of the time. There's been the occasional mistake over the years, but nothing that's put us off ordering. One thing I'd appreciate is a lower sweetness option between no sugar and 30%. Sometimes you want just a little sweetness, and something around 10-15% would be awesome. I've also been pulled in by the seasonal merchandise, from the little birthday boba bottles to the Harry Potter ornaments. The tumbler I bought felt a little cheap, but that's just my opinion. Not the first gong cha I've been to, but this location was near the house so I thought I'd give it a try! The staff were pleasant and the store itself was clean. I ordered the crème brûlée brown sugar milk tea w/ boba and 50% sweetness. It was very good! Gong cha has a more limited menu compared to other milk tea shops, but it works when you have a craving! Just be aware that it shares the same parking lot as P. terry's, so it can get pretty busy during the lunch and dinner rush from the drive through. read more

I'm a ride or die for Gong Cha. I literally purchase 2-3 drinks every time I come here: one for now, one for later, and one for another day if I'm feeling extra spontaneous. I will often test for 3 things: how long was the tea steeped? are tea leaves used? and lastly, is there more tea, cream, or ice in this drink? I cut out the boba as I feel the syrup and tapioca distract from the tea. How I like my tea: strong & fresh, which is exactly how Gong Cha makes it. Ordered two drinks with tapioca pearls and I can literally count less than 20 pearls for each drink, if these are at an additional cost, I really expect to get more than 1 layer of pearls in my cup. I love boba tea! This was the first time trying Gong Cha, and it did not disappoint I ordered 3 drinks online for pickup, so I can not rate the store itself or staff/customer service. Fantastic ordering process! I live that you can choose your sugar level, I chose 30%, which was perfect! I also love that you can choose your ice level preference. A lot of thought went into their creative ordering options! The menu isn't large but still has a lot of different combinations of drinks with flavors plus jelly or boba options. I had the most uncomfortable customer service interaction at this Gong Cha. I had ordered four drinks (three milk teas for my friends and a strawberry green tea for myself). I took my drinks to my car, but then I noticed that they forgot ice in mine (I had ordered Regular Ice). I didn't really want to drink a lukewarm tea on a hot day, so I went back inside to ask them to put ice in my cup. It wasn't a big deal! Mistakes happen; I figured that it would be an easy fix...or so I thought. The guy at the counter (I assume he was the manager) picked up my drink, rolled his eyes, and made a huge scene. He yelled "who made this?" at his two female employees. When both of them said that neither remembered making it, he kept berating them in front of me, that "OBVIOUSLY one of you two had to make it, so fix it!" I was appalled by his conduct. Not once did he apologize to me. I felt SO uncomfortable and second hand embarrassed with that whole interaction. Even though the milk tea was fine, my strawberry green tea was bland and so were the pearls. It does NOT sit well with me that this location has a manager that will verbally abuse the employees in front of their customers. Avoid this place and get your boba elsewhere. read more

We stopped in Tong Cha for the second time yesterday. The first time we did not stay because my husband only likes fruit tea which they do not have. We came the other day after school as a treat. I remember being in this shopping center plenty of times waiting for it to open and I am glad I it finally was. They had a variety of menu items, but I kept it simple and got the Passion Yogurt Slush in Medium. I didn't know what to expect but I wasn't disappointed. I got mine in standard sweet because that is how I roll. My daughter got the same one but added the milk foam on top. She didn't care for the foam and I'm not going to lie neither was it. Since we did go after school, I will say that it picked up really fast. Even though there were 2 people working, you didn't wait long from the time you ordered, and they called your name. My girlfriend introduced me to this place and I am so glad she did. There was a while where boba was losing my interest but this place has reestablished my love for it. The Peach green tea with mango popping boba is what I got most recently and I typically get some variation of this when I go. The quality and taste of the fruit tea is really great. I can say that this is definitely the best tasting fruit boba I have had. What I really like is the tea flavor actually shines through opposed to just tasting sweet. It is very balanced and the boba is a good size and delicious. I haven't even tried milk teas which are normally a go to for me because the fruit tea is that good! Only reason I give 4 stars is because it is pricey, with a price for a drink being above $7 after tax which is pretty absurd. If they brought the price down my girlfriend and I would frequent far more often. Inside is small, modern and clean. Not really a place to sit and drink in my opinion. Not a ton of warmth or atmosphere and not much seating either so more of a grab and go spot which I believe is what they want. Finally! Been seeing this place with a "coming soon" side for seemingly forever. We live nearby, so since this is basically the only decent boba within a reasonable distance of our house, I'm extra happy about this. We went both days that they offered BOGO during their grand opening. Tried the taro, brown sugar, lemon ai Yu, and milk foam green tea. Honestly liked each of these quite a bit, the lemon ai yu surprised me and was refreshing on a scorching summer day. Given how busy it was I was impressed that the new staff did a good and fast job with the drinks. Is it the best boba I've ever had? Love to see a boba spot pop up in southwest Austin! I don't really have a refined taste for boba but I'm just excited to see some Asian businesses popping up in the area. Overall the place was new and clean and the service was friendly. There was a short line of people but the place wasn't too crowded. We got the peach boba with coconut jelly at 30% sweetness. The fruit tea is so delicious !! I typically go for mango, peach, or passion fruit green tea. I love that they use green tea instead of black, it compliments the fruitiness better. This time around I got the large peach iced green tea with mango popping boba. This is a drink that I crave from time to time and gongcha does a great job at fulfilling that craving. The service is normally quick, efficient and friendly. My reason for deducting is star is that the tea is expensive compared to neighboring boba tea joints. It's about $7 each time, which is about $1-2 more than the average price for boba tea. In addition, the inside is nice and clean but only set up for a grab and go situation. There are very few tables and chairs. It would be nice to have an inviting interior to allow customers to sit and enjoy tea with a friend. Overall in my opinion this is the best boba place in ATX, the flavors are on point, it doesn't make you feel gross like other boba places (as in not too overpowering on flavor), prices are acceptable, and it's never busy!
