Austin is known for having a lot of coffee, but very few have identifiable differentiators. Merfolk's creates coffee flavors based on fantasy lore, so you honestly never know what the special menu will have. That's why we keep spending our money there. Many of the drinks are sweet but the staff is more than happy to make adjustments as needed! The ambiance is also so cute and whimsical. It may take a moment to find parking (but at least it's free) and you may wait in line for a bit (even though they had two people working the order counter). But it's totally worth it. The atmosphere, beverages and available food options differentiate this place from other coffee houses and bars. The lush greenery and trees make the venue visually appealing. In addition, a food truck park is across the walkway creating more interest. In addition, since there is so much outdoor space, the venue appears to be dog friendly. The drink menu has quite a lot of variety. The Cosmic Saltillo location is our go-to because it's walking distance from our home. This original location is amazing. Love the both so much. I like that there are food truck onsite, lots and lots of outdoor seating, koi pond, chickens, certified green spaces, and so much more. It's like being at the greatest campground ever.
