Teatop has become my all time favorite place to get tapioca. I alternate between 3 drinks every time I come here. I either get the milk foam oolong tea, yogurt green tea or the signature alpine milk tea. I highly recommend adding their milk foam to your teas if you like a little creaminess in your drink while still be able to taste a well balanced tea aroma. New boba spot in china town and decided to give it a try since we tend to stick to the same boba places. Had this same spot in katy before so had an idea of what it would taste. We ordered the winter-melon milk tea and the signature alpine milk tea with tapioca and half sugar since I don't like my milk teas too sweet. The winter-melon was good nothing special then had before. The alpine milk tea was very natural tasting and was flavorful with still some sweetness despite the 50% sugar which was not bad but I can only imagine it being sweeter if I had not adjusted the sweetness level. THE absolute best tea I've had at a boba place. No matter if ordering with milk or not, I like that you can really taste the distinct tea flavor and it's not overpowered by sweeteners. The tapioca is also cooked to a really good texture that isn't too chewy. read more

The pearl milk tea was good, despite it being at 100% sweetness it wasn't too sweet at all and that was perfect. I typically don't write reviews unless I feel very strongly for a place, but now I have to because this place has the bubble milk tea I have ever had. I've had tried many, many places from big and small named businesses. I've always been on a search for the best milk tea with the most fragrance and tea flavor. I typically get regular ice, 50% sweetened. I had the earl grey milk tea, and thoroughly did not disappoint me. The bubbles were perfectly chewy and not overly sweet. The tea was very fragrant and flavorful. The milk was not overly creamy. Good balance overall without. The sweetness level was spot on as expected. Bad customer service and no clear explanation of the drinks. The taro milk tea was too chunky to drink.I asked the server if they could blend it more or do something about it, but the server said they could do nothing about it. I did however see on the menu that they had a taro slurpy so I'm sure they could have blended the drink more or have done something about it. Super disappointed. Favorite tea spot out of all the places I've been to around Houston. The one in Katy Asia town opened up first but it was so far away, so when the one in Chinatown opened I was pumped. It's just as good as the Katy location, but right now is the soft opening so they don't have the full menu yet. I like my teas to have great tea flavor instead of being drowned out by too much sugar which I feel most places do. The actual tea itself is the shining star at this spot. Sun moon lake milk tea is one of my favorites. Earl grey tea and green teas are also amazing. They are consistent with making the tea the same each time so I know it's going to be just as good every time I go. I usually get 30% sugar which is plenty sweet for me. read more

Tea Top is situated amongst many other boba places on Bellaire, but they seem to have the longest line. Consequently, finding parking is a nightmare. The interior is simple but cute, with Instagram-worthy wall art. I ordered the Grapefruit Green Tea with 80% sweetness (very refreshing with lots of fresh fruit) and Yogurt Green Tea with 80% sweetness and coconut jelly (tastes just like Yacult... nothing special). I do not like coconut-flavored things, but the jelly tasted more like lychee, which I prefer. I also got to try their Oolong Tea with Cheese Foam (different, but good) and Mango Green Tea (too sweet for my liking, even at 50% sweetness). Service was cordial and everyone received their drinks correctly, so no complaints there. Drinks are a little pricey, but their portions are big (they only have one size). read more

My favorite drink is the brown sugar pearl milk. It is refreshing without being too sweet, and they're pearls are warm, fresh, and chewy! I think my favorite part of the store is that I can tell that their tapioca pearls are made fresh every time I go there. Been here twice since it opened and have enjoyed both drinks that I had. I got to try the Pearl Milk Tea with Red Bean and the Earl Grey Milk Tea. The boba has a fresh and sweet taste and the tea flavor is strong, especially with the Earl Grey. For the Pearl Milk Tea with Red Bean, it was pretty sweet but I enjoyed the large amount of red bean. I'm looking forward to also trying their non-milk tea drinks which are in the cylindrical containers. read more

I was pretty excited to try this place, as I have heard pretty good things about it so far. After trying it a couple of times, I figured it was time to write a review. Just a heads up, I almost always get 50% sweetness and less ice if the drink allows for it. -Alpine Green Milk Tea: Pretty solid milk tea overall. The tea base is very earthy and quite enjoyable. -Jasmine Brown Sugar Milk Tea: I actually really liked this drink a lot! I am a huge fan of Jasmine Teas, and I thought that the flavors in the drink overall went really well together. -Cheese Milk foam Early Grey Tea: Not that big of a fan of the cheese foam and I thought that it overpowered the flavor of the drink. To be honest, I couldn't even finish it, and I gave it to me sister. It honestly could just be an acquired taste, but it definitely wasn't meant for me. All in all, I would say that it's a pretty good bubble tea place, and it's my current goto spot. I plan on trying a regular milk foam tea next time! read more

I've tried the sun moon lake tea and wintermelon alpine green tea. Their teas have set the bar pretty high, because they taste like high quality tea. Initially, I though the sun moon lake tea was way too strong and had a bitter aftertaste. After a few sips, it grew on me! I came here twice. The first time it was because a friend recommended it to me and the staff was really nice and I really liked the drink (I think it was the normal milk tea one). However, the second time I came I ordered the Matcha one with coconut jelly and it was okay, like it tasted kind of powdery in my mouth and the coconut jelly was literally underneath the ice so I wasn't able to get any of it at all. Still in the soft opening phase so not as much selection as the fully opened store in Katy. Overall I like the look and feel of the shop and dig a lot of the flavors offered. I'd say this store is a cross between share tea and Kung fu tea flavor-wise. I got my go-to drink (winter melon milk tea) here labeled as winter melon fresh milk. The sun moon lake was alright and the pearl milk tea with red bean was just okay. I'm honestly not super impressed with the selection here. I am so appreciative that they are willing to make a lychee green tea for me because that is all I drink. It is very good compared to other places that actually have lychee green tea on their menu. Alittle disappointed with lack of tea flavor with fresh milk, that's with the house special Alpine. Maybe next time I will try fresh milk with another kind of tea. This is one of my fave places bc of the sun moon lake tea w 3q (I haven't seen anyone else serve this flavor), but the customer service was meh. I got a drink that ended up being way too sweet and after one sip I returned it. They asked if they could fix the drink but as it was already minimum sugar and it was just the drink itself I wanted something entirely different and therefore they wouldn't give me a refund and instead gave me a 15% discount on the next drink I bought even tho I returned the first one so I essentially spent almost $10 on one drink. Hope they address this as most other places allow you to return something if you aren't satisfied. read more

I was ecstatic to hear they opened up a Bellaire location. I knew about their Katy location but I never had time to make the trip up there! Tea Top is located next Giau's and Tea Bar & Organics. Their milk tea is the bomb dot com. I'm definitely adding it to my fav list of milk tea/boba places!! I had their Earl Grey Milk Tea and Passion Fruit Green Tea. The sweetness is pretttttty up there so I would recommend toning it down a notch and getting your drink one level under 100% sweet. The 'pearl' or their boba is already very surgary that's why! I honestly really enjoyed the milk tea here!! It's very subtle and not so milky. It's super good. 10/10 would recommend. I would say it's better than KFT. One thing this place has that's super different from other tap places is their CHEESE FOAM option which is a small sorta thin layer that sits on top of your milk tea. I tried it, and wow. It's sooooo weird & different but also very interesting and I think it's an acquired taste in my opinion. The texture is funky and it's SUPER SWEET. Worth trying though! Their passion fruit green tea is refreshing and fruity. Very similar to any other place. The place itself is small & nice because it's new, with a slick black interior vibe going on. The signs and wall are cute too to capture a perfect Instagram photo to post on your story. They have a large community table as well as small tables if you'd like to study here. I saw a lot of outlets. I feel as though it may get loud though because it's a small shop. All in all, come try this place out!!! read more
