After consuming some excellent izakaya food, it was time to wash it all down with Asia's best dessert. You know I'm talkin' about that boba life and Tea Era absolutely delivered. Firstly, their menu is large and you can get anything from regular brewed tea to smoothies. This one time, when I thought I had decided on a drink, my mind quickly shifted when I saw they had Roasted Oolong Milk Tea w/ Boba ($4). Not a lot of boba shops choose to brew oolong tea for whatever reason, so I knew this would be my drink of choice for the night. SO happy I did because my drink was incredible. The tea and milk combination was on point and the boba was soft and easy to eat. Even when I shared it with friends, they all agreed that i had gotten a god choice here. You don't need fancy fruit flavors to make boba good and this definitely proves that notion. My friends also ordered their Tofu Pudding which comes with a variety of toppings to choose from. Their dessert was very tasty and refreshing just as well. If I had more stomach space, I would have gone for some of their Taiwanese snacks. Believe me that it took a lot of restraint to not order their popcorn chicken or sausage. Tea Era was the best way to end the evening and I am so glad to have had this recommended. Tea Era has been my go to place for years. I like the large selection of drinks they have, e.g. milk tea, fruit tea, slush, smoothies, non-caffeinated, even shaved ice. They are one of the few boba places that have fresh chunks of taro as one of the topping choices. In addition to drinks, they also provide a nice list of high quality bento boxes and food snacks. One of my favorites is the Taiwanese stewed pork served with cabbage and a tea leaf egg. The pork is very tasty, most likely from slow cooking the pork for many hours with proper seasonings. I come here almost every Friday to buy their food + boba. I have redeemed 3 stamp cards since my first time visiting here. I really want to give them a higher rating; however, their food quality is often inconsistent. Someday the rice would be soggy, other days it would be too dry, and once in a while, it would be perfect. Their cold noodles also feels like it is lacking some type of favor (although I haven't found a place with good cold noodles yet). Despite all these, I still go back often, because I am always craving the Taiwanese food + boba combo, and Tea Era is my current #1 to-go place for it. (btw, it's $1 discount for drink if you buy their food) As for their drink, it's good, but it's also not the type that I would be craving for. PARKING + AMBIENCE Tea Era is located across from McDonalds. The plaza has a good amount of parking, but it did get packed during Saturday lunch hour. The place appears to be a popular spot in the area for drinks and Taiwanese snacks/meals, it was packed during my visit. It's quite a small place with only a couple of tables available, so I always order to-go. FOOD + DRINKS The Popcorn Chicken Bento ($7.99) is a great bang for your buck. If you're hungry, definitely order this because I guarantee it will fill you up. The popcorn chicken was good and exactly what I was craving. I would prefer to have a sauce to add some extra flavor to the chicken, but otherwise, it was perfect. The spicy pork noodles was also tasty and is definitely spicy like its name suggests. A con is the lettuce, which has some kind of additive added, MSG maybe, giving it a tastier flavor but is otherwise quite unhealthy. I decided to try the Roasted Barley Milk Tea since it seems like something people liked from here. After tasting it, I agree, it is pretty good! Nice mixture of milk and tea without losing any flavor! The boba was decent, but they overfilled on the tapioca balls, there were so many leftover after I finished my drink. That's not necessarily bad if you really want to maximize your boba servings, but a little excessive for me. I also decided to try the Iron Buddha Tea on another visit and the result was not good. The aftertaste was an undesirable taste - I will stick with the Roasted Barley Milk Tea for future visits! SERVICE The cashiers were all friendly and happy to take your order. A worker will call your number for you to pick up at the front. The orders only take a couple minutes to come out, making it an ideal place to grab food and go. CONCLUSION Tea Era is a great place for boba and Taiwanese snacks. I was searching for a place with popcorn chicken and Tea Era delivered! My cravings were satisfied and I will definitely come back for more! So impressed by how they have kept their costs consistently lower than pretty much any other store. What sets this boba joint apart is the green tea jelly, which I have not ever seen elsewhere and I usually get this with the Ceylon milk tea. If it's cold outside, I'll get a hot iron Buddha milk tea. I usually get about 50% sugar and depending on the drink, there may be limitations on whether they can decrease in increments of 25% or 50%. If you're hungry, there are lots of yummy food options as well - popcorn chicken by itself or in a bento are popular options. I also love the shredded pork rice (卤肉饭）. After looking through each one, I decided to settle with the strawberry milk tea with pearls and popcorn chicken. The milk tea was alright. I think they added pieces of real strawberries in it (as I noticed on the bottom of the cup). The boba was mediocre. I've definitely had better elsewhere. The popcorn chicken was really good. They add basil which I LOVE. Other boba shops I've been to tend to opt out on the basil. The dining area has a nice atmosphere with dim lighting. I was craving boba and popcorn chicken, so I got Tea Era delivered. I ordered a roasted barley milk tea, 70% sweet, with boba and a popcorn chicken. I asked for chili powder on the side so I could add, but it wasn't included in my delivery. I wasn't a huge fan of the drink. It was a bit sweet, but also tasted watered down. I didn't taste much of the roasted barley flavor, though the boba was chewy. The popcorn chicken itself had good seasoning, but I wish I had gotten the chili powder to add! Love the coconut smoothie with added pearls! Honeydew is another one of my favorites. There are so many good teas here - it's hard to choose. Same parking lot as McDonald's. Parking is usually pretty easy but crowded during certain times, usually 5 pm or 6 pm. It gets busy here so sometimes there is a little bit of a wait but the employees are friendly. Idk what their standard sweetness is, but it needs to be lowered...or we can lower it ourselves but ya never know when you're a first timer. Anyone else read this place as "Tea Spa" as opposed to "Tea Era"? The E looked like a Sigma and the lowercase r looked like a rho to me. Anyway, that's not important. I'll just get straight to it and say that I didn't like my drink at all. I ordered the Ceylon crema, which was one of the drinks under the vanilla creams subcategories. The first few minutes while I was consuming the drink, I only tasted straight sugary syrup. It was so disgustingly sweet that I was nearly going to toss the drink out or go back to Tea Era for a replacement. When I moved the straw up to where the ice was floating, I then tasted the unsweetened tea. I realized that whomever created my drink didn't mix everything together well nor advised me that I had to mix or shake the drink up myself. The vanilla cream didn't help my cause either. If I had known the vanilla cream was also that sweet, I would've asked for a lower percentage of sugar in the overall drink. The employee who took my order was nice at least. She allowed me to sample the Ceylon tea and their most popular tea, which was the barley tea. Not a fan of the barley tea as a standalone by the way. It's very bitter, so I imagine you'd have to boost up the sugar on that. read more

Their prices are lower than other places but the ordering system is confusing as hell. If you want to use CC you have to order on the machine, if you use cash you have to order from a person, ok fine. On their menu on the wall they have red bean milk tea, I couldn't find that in the order kiosk, I asked the person behind the counter, she told me to just order another drink (I forgot what the name was she said), that drink was the same price as the red bean milk tea on the wall so I figured maybe she would just make the red bean milk tea since I talked to her. I followed her directions and ordered that drink, after ordering I confirmed with her that I wanted the red bean milk tea, now she says that I can't order that but i need to create a custom drink and then add red bean as a topping (which would make it cost more than the red bean milk tea price on the wall). Even with that surprise I still said it's ok I'll pay for the extra price then but she said she couldn't do it, I had to place a new order. I didn't need an extra drink so I just stuck with what I ordered on the kiosk which turned out to be pretty bad so I tossed it. A little gripe I had is that there's a $10 minimum for card! Other than that, I pretty much only have good things to say about this place. My first visit here and I'm pleasantly surprised! Definitely has an authentic Taiwanese shop feel to it, which I'm totally digging. They have a lot of choices, many of which are based on more Taiwanese flavors that you wouldn't find in most other milk tea shops (peanut, sesame, etc). The prices here are also cheaper than most other places! Not to mention, all of our drinks were pretty much filled halfway with pearls (they ain't playing around!!) The pearls had the perfect chew, tea was great, and service was fast. The store space is small but clean, modern, and a chill place to hang out at. This is my third time here at Tea Era and they have been very consistent in making great boba drinks . I like mine with 1/4 of sugar and they get just right and I can taste the quality of the tea! Their boba is soft and chewy which I'm always looking for . The staff are well dressed and look very professional . They seem very happy working there and always smile . Their popcorn chicken is by far the best I've had ! They use premium pieces of chicken breast and it doesn't feel as greasy as other places . Good job guys !
