I came here for lunch one day and it was very busy, especially on weekends and holidays. We ordered a variety of dim sum and non dim sum items. Everything is made in house and fresh daily which is really nice. It's a small family owned business, and service sometimes can be a bit slower during when it's really busy. We ordered the Classic dim sum dishes such as har gow, siu mai, chicken feet, beef tripe, egg tarts and another pastry I've never seen before - a fried dough with some cinnamon in it. All the dim sum was delicious. We also got some beef stir fried noodles which had lots of flavor. Also tried their Singapore noodles and orange chicken (not pictured), very good flavor. Overall, nice dim sum place and will come again. Parking can be a difficult since they have a small lot.

A locally owned family restaurant offering very tasty dim sum, dumplings, and small bites. Beyond the dim sum menu, a complete menu is offered to fulfill your cravings. Service is quick and the staff very friendly and attentive. Tables and chairs are plentiful. The restaurant appears to be well kept.

I was so hungry and craving dim sum, so I ordered some har gow and lo mai gai for pick-up. The har gow was good, but the lo mai gai was underwhelming. I wasn't a huge fan of the filling and it didn't have that deep earthy flavor cooked into it (which is arguably the best part of lo mai gai).

In a nutshell; has one of the best egg tarts I've ever had in recent times, good food overall Parking is a pain though considering it is downtown area, they have a small lot for parking next to the building but I'm sure that may get filled up in busy times. The food, dim sum, and egg tarts were all great. Servers were all accommodating. Place has a lot of tables and can sit a number of parties. Designed like most dimsum places. Overall great experience.

Wow! I'd spent ages searching for a place that serves good jya jee gai in the Sac area and was pointed towards this place by a few friendly souls online. My expectations were on the lower side, as it's definitely hard to find that dish these days, but this place blew them out of the water. We rolled up to a mostly empty restaurant and were seated and served almost immediately. The inside is on the sparse side, but is clearly well loved and maintained. We ordered the jya jee gai, house special chow mein, the steamed cha siu bao, and the xiao long bao. All the dishes came out quickly and were all decently good, but the jya jee guy was by far my favorite. It was not too greasy, with the perfect mix of special salt and tasted just like I remember. I'm so glad I finally found somewhere I can trust to make it.

We just don't have enough Dim Sum so when we are traveling it is always a stop I look for! We walked in and were greeted immediately and taken very good care of. It is a comfortable restaurant and somewhere you can easily relax, which is just what we needed. We loved everything we tried honestly but some notable ones were certainly the Lotus Rice, Chive Dumplings and Egg Tarts. The Sesame Balls were also standout, they were very clearly freshly made and piping hot! We were just absolutely blown away with how wonderful everything was. Another winner in my book!

I have been here several times. I'm up and down about this place but still keep eating here. Frustrating when they are busy, service somewhat lacking and they don't seem to fazed that I am frustrated. When they are slower, great place to eat in peace and have a great conversation if desired. Food is steady. I think it's the most consistent Chinese cuisine in town. The dim sum is good. The meat and veggies are great Oddly enough the rice and noodles, easiest to prepare, are mediocre. Prices are good....nothing flashy here....just consistency.

One of my all time favorite dishes! The Steamed Salted Fish Pork Patty. This is highly recommended for anyone love Cantonese dishes. It reminds me of my childhood. Goes very well with steamed white rice.

We drove to Sacramento in search of dim-sum for lunch. We arrived at Tea Cup Cafe just as the restaurant's "OPEN" sign flickered on. There were three other cars waiting in the parking lot and when we entered the restaurant, the proprietress warmly greeted us; our 5-person party was easily accommodated at a corner table. The restaurant was modestly decorated but everything looked neat and orderly. We placed our food orders as soon as the nice lady dropped off our drink orders; from the regular Chinese menu we ordered 2 house fried rice, half an order of roast dick and walnut shrimp. From the dim sum menu we ordered: shumai, Shanghai dumplings (Xiaolongbao), fried shrimp balls, fried chicken wings, scallion pancake, salt & pepper chicken wings, lobster turnovers, and potstickers. The service was fast and efficient; the lady and gentlemen brought out all our orders with lightning speed and every item we ordered was well peppered and expertly seasoned. We especially liked the chicken wings and walnut shrimp, they were so crunchy but lightly battered, it was like biting into a cloud. We also enjoyed their scallion pancake; it was so light and crisp. The roast duck and fried rice were scrumptious. The fried shrimp balls is one of my favorite dim-sums; theirs had a crunchy exterior and soft, bouncy interior. The shumai was delicious and potstickers were thickk (with two k's). Everyone enjoyed our meal, we ate as much as we could but we had plenty of food leftover to make two entire meals. Aside from the food, when I paid for our meal, I miss-calculated the total; overpaying by $40. The cashier came back to our table, informed me of my error and corrected my receipt; if that isn't an example for the exemplary customer service, I don't know what is. Overall, we had a pleasant meal: the service was superb, the food was tasty and best of all, we felt welcomed-- we ate our meal languidly; we were all completely relaxed and jovial during the meal. Our group had such a good time, we're already planning a return trip.

Went on a weekday for dim sum. The selection of dim sum was great, everything was good, eggplant a little butter but the shrimp on the inside was crispy and really tasty. Salk and pepper wings and the turnip cake was excellent . The servers were nice and attentive. Received our food quickly. Restaurant was clean and started to get a little busy later into the night. The only thing I struggled with was it was so hot inside the restaurant I was sweating. Not sure if they cranked the heater up because it was winter or there was just not good enough airflow. Other than that had a great time and will be dining there again!

So I'm planning my next trip here this week so I can enjoy the amazing cucumber salad (so fresh, crunchy and garlicky), their pepper beef clay pot (sizzling rice at the bottom for the win and big portions), their spicy tofu (umm what?!? So crispy) and their awesome skewers (the pork belly is my favorite). The space is small, so if you're planning on dining in during peak times, you may want a back up or take it to go as they only have a handful of tables inside and a few tables outside. There is parking but it is shared with other business so can get busy. The service is wonderful! The hostess/waitress was very friendly and everything came out relatively quick. The clay pot does take some time (they need to cook up the rice to get that awesome crunchy bottom) so place your order for that first, and then look at the appetizers and skewers as they come out fast. It was nice enough that I tried to come here on a weekend night and it was packed full of families which is great but probably where I should have thought about it more. We went up to the counter and were told to wait a few minutes. I saw that a large table was clearing up so I didn't mind waiting. During this time a group came up behind us and I thought they were after us. One of the server waved in our general direction after cleaning up and splitting the table, so I thought they were gesturing to us since it has already been 10 minutes of waiting. Wrong, it was to the group behind us. Maybe it was communicated in mandarin that they had a reservation, I'm not sure. I waited for the next empty table, which was also taken by yet another group that magically appeared behind us as if they knew they were in line. I decided to leave after this. My issue is that I looked and talked to the staff multiple times and at no point, did they indicate there was a waitlist, nor did they take my name, or anything about people in front of us. It was really frustrating because being told it would be a few minutes set the wrong expectation. This is not the only place to get skewers so if you're left confused where you are in line, just come another weekday, speak mandarin, or go somewhere else like I did

One of my coworkers was the one who recommended this spot. Let me just say the food was incredible. The seafood chow mein was the standout dish out of everything. Loaded with octopus tentacles, scallops, shrimp. Feel like half the time you get seafood options these days they skimp out but this place did not disappoint. The fried rice was a little more unique than I've personally tried before with pieces of beef and cabbage. But still very tasty. And the pork dishes we got including the sweet and sour were just incredible. One thing I do want to mention was some pieces of the pork did have a bone attached, but I honestly didn't mind it much. The flavor made it up for it. Also inside of this place looks very modern, clean. Since we only got takeout I can't say for certain service for sit down but ordering and getting our food was simple. My only suggestion was just a little too sweet for me. Most things are ready right when you order but because it's made fresh, when they run out there is a wait sometimes. When I got the pineapple buns in my hand they were still nice and warm, a decent size as well compared to some dimsum spots. The filling was nice and sweet, not the typical nai wong custard but a coconut, thicker filling that was nice and sweet. The bread was so soft as well and the crust was nice flaky and crunchy. It was very satisfying to bite into, no complaints here! 9/10 The sui mai was piping hot when I got it as well. They were very big and meaty and so fresh when I bit into them. I didn't see anyone included a cross section of the peanut mochi so I made sure to get one for yall. TBH the red bean was more to my taste, and I really wish they had fruit options. The peanut one had a peanutty sugar inside, which was a bit too sweet for me. They're all rolled in coconut shreds too, so they're pretty messy. Hot dog bun - The bun is big but the dogs are tiny.. Also, the bun was dry af. The scallions on top were so toasted they fell off, and the weenies were also a bit dry.. They also didn't sit up nicely on the bun, but sank down into the holes on the bread. I took a bite of it "fresh" and wasn't impressed so took it home to heat up and dip in sauce. It's super bready... and just overall boring. Wouldn't waste the dollars on this. Sesame Ball x 2 - Small for the price. Not fresh at all even though we stopped by at 9 AM. Had a good chew once reheated and red bean filling was good, but def have had waaaay better. Red Bean Mochi Biscuit - Basically a pan fried stuffed mochi. Super super soggy. I wanted BBQ pork but got red bean instead. Same filling as the sesame ball. Decent, but could have been better texturally. All of this came out to $19.09. For $20, I would have expected better.

Asian Pearl Restaurant is a true time-honored staple of the Sacramento Chinese culinary scene. Over…read morethe years, like any classic institution, it has seen its ups and downs. Yet, what amazes me most is its sheer resilience. In an area packed with over 120+ competing restaurants, Asian Pearl has managed to survive, adapt, and consistently draw a crowd. After dining there recently, it's easy to see why they still hold their ground: exceptional food and unbeatable value. Right now, they are running an absolute steal of a promotion. Following Mother's Day, they dropped the price of their live lobster to just $19.95 per pound--a massive 50% discount from their regular price of $39.95. We ordered a 3-pound lobster and had it tossed with egg noodles (the absolute best way to soak up all that incredible, savory seafood flavor). The lobster was perfectly cooked, sweet, and snapping fresh. To round out the meal, we added two classic dishes: Hong Kong Style Ribs and Beef with Tong Veggie (Tong Cho) and Chili Pepper: A fantastic balance to the rich meat and seafood, offering a great crunch and a subtle, fiery kick. The portions here do not skimp. The three of us ate our fill and still couldn't finish everything. (Take a look at the pictures to see just how generous these plates are!) While the food and prices are a triumph, the front-of-house experience can be a bit of a gamble. The restaurant seems to be running on a skeleton crew, with only four staff members handling the entire floor. Because of the lean staffing, service can be hit-or-miss. If you go in with the right expectations regarding service, you will have an incredible meal. With food this good and a live lobster deal that cuts the price in half, Asian Pearl proves exactly why it has survived the Sacramento restaurant wars for so long.
