Authentic. Remind me of the genuine stuff back in China. The soup dumplings were better than the stuff from Din Tai Fung. It has the feeling of a real family restaurant, in a good intimate way. I recommend.
A great restaurant for dumplings in East Sacramento. The menu has a variety of options to choose from, so everyone can get what they want. I think the noodles were my favorite overall, but the soup dumplings were good too. We did have a bit of a wait for our order to be taken, but it's understandable given that you can see the 3 workers busy in the kitchen. Parking is a little difficult given the busyness of the other shops but worth it.
Based on the experience we had, can't complain. They aren't the biggest, in terms of retail space, so seating may be limited in times that are really busy. They had a number of options that were appealing, and we had to take some time to try narrow down what we wanted to try this time. After making our choices, we were happy with what we got. We would go again. For instance, there are places in the general Sacramento area that are widely known for their dumplings, but I thought they were inferior compared to Lin Dumpling. I'd genuinely have the ones here over the bigger names. The XLB were good, as were the Shengjian bao. I've had worse for both. The Shengjian bao in particular were a good surprise. I've had experiences where they're too burnt or not enough filling, but these ones here were great. The XLB were good, with dough thickness. They didn't rip too easily, but weren't overwhelmingly thick either. The filling was good and balanced, more than other places in the area. We also had the Shanghai style shu mai, and they were good. They were a pleasant change of pace from the typical HK style you typically get around the area. The pork and chive dumplings were good; the dough wasn't too thick, and they were filled well. They are a small joint, so keep expectations aligned with that. They were all super nice to us.
Hate to say it... but thank God Subway moved out! Because otherwise, this little gem, Lin Dumpling, may have never made its way here The portions are HUGE, so this is definitely a great hole in the wall Chinese spot to hit with a group and share a bunch of dishes. And not only are the portions mighty, but everything we tried was seriously tasty! We ordered the pan-fried pork buns ($12.95), sweet & sour chicken ($14.95), and regular chow mein ($12.95). With drinks, tax, and tip, our final bill came out to about $85, but honestly, it was well worth it! I can't wait to come back and try more of their dishes. If you're in the area or craving some good, homemade-style Chinese food, definitely give Lin Dumpling a try!
This place is a hidden gem!!! If you want authentic Asian food with quality customer service, Lin Dumpling is for you. The portions here are beyond generous and the food is delicious. It's a small restaurant with a good amount of indoor seating. We ended up ordering the Wonton in Chili Oil and the garlic noodles. Their wontons were the best I've had in Sacramento and the garlic noodles were simply divine. I've had garlic noodles at other places that just lacked flavor. Lin Dumpling's garlic noodles are the opposite - full of garlic flavor and noodles that are not dried out Great experience with amazing food. We will be back to have more items from their menu.
The food here is exceptionally good! The service from the family who owns it was wonderful! The flavors felt very authentic, but, tended to fall on the sweeter side to appease the American palette - no points lost for that though! I do hope that this restaurant thrives in Sacramento and finds away to incorporate a truly authentic menu as well as something that keeps everyone coming back for more!
We actually decided to try this place out for dumplings and then ended up not getting any! Our waiter highly recommended the orange chicken and the beef brisket noodle soup, and when he said those two things I was like, sign me up! Both dishes were outstanding and huge portions. My fiancé and I shared them and it was way more than enough food, we even had to take some home. The orange chicken sauce was complex, truly surprising. Not just the basic sweet sauce that a lot of places have. It was actually cooked in with chunks of real oranges that were so yummy. The chicken was fried beautifully and the rice that came with it was perfect. The beef brisket noodle soup was somehow light and savory and comforting, and hearty all at the same time. I was imagining a much richer sauce than it was. It was a massive portion of noodles, and the beef brisket was incredibly tender. The restaurant is set up like a fast casual restaurant. Clean but not exciting as far as decor. But the food and the great service made up for it! I would absolutely return to this location.
My fiancée and I were craving Chinese food on a Saturday night and noticed that Lin Dumpling had a perfect five-star rating. This place is absolutely delicious and completely lives up to the hype. We were quite hungry, but our server mentioned that the entrees are large, so we started with the orange chicken and rice plate along with the beef brisket noodle soup. Our server was right; the portions are generous and come at a very reasonable price. The orange chicken had incredible flavor and was perfectly balanced without being overly fried or too sweet. The jasmine rice was also cooked to perfection. The beef brisket noodle soup was excellent, featuring thick noodles, fresh bok choy, and tender chunks of beef. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, giving the place a wonderful family-owned vibe. I will definitely be back!
We were the only customers in this tiny restaurant at 1:15 PM on a Wednesday afternoon. So Service was certainly prompt. We ordered hot and sour soup, pork and chive dumplings, and orange chicken. Rice did not come automatically so we asked for a small bowl. Everything was very tasty and I look forward to trying some of their other dishes in the future.
I was surprised to see a dumpling spot pop up in my neighborhood and I had to try it out! The restaurant is minimally staffed so service was on the slower end, but well worth the wait. I was dining alone so I only could only try a few things. I started with the beef brisket noodles. Presentation could use a little work, but it's definitely a solid tasty bowl with generous bits of beef. Broth savory, rich, and flavorful, but be careful as it comes out piping hot! Pork soup dumplings came out next. Thin skinned, with the right amount of broth coming out enough to fill most of the soup spoon. Served with sides of thinly sliced ginger in vinegar and chili sauce. My last dish was the pan fried soup dumplings. 生煎包 has always been my favorite and Lin Dumpling did not disappoint. The skin was thin, bottom crispy, dumpling juicy. A lot of places serve this dumpling and turns out bready, but not here! I'm a fan and will definitely be back. Lin Dumpling is a great addition to East Sacramento.
This restaurant has had a soft opening the last couple of weeks so we decided to pop in. They were so busy with take our orders but we still got a seat right away. Their menu has lots of options. It's large & easy to read. We ordered the chicken and corn dumplings, pork dumplings. Pork bao, chicken and corn noodle soup, garlic noodles and steamed broccoli with shrimp. The food comes out pretty quick and it's family style. The dumplings were pretty good. The bao was super bready. The garlic noodles were my favorite by far. The broccoli came out way later so we were already full by the time it came out but it came out really hot. This place is small but clean but the staff was super nice and helpful. I'm not sure I'd come back. It was good but not a must have again, unfortunately. I'd for sure come back for the garlic noodles tho!
I just came in for a quick to go order because I was in a rush. The pan fried pork buns were PERFECTION. SO GOOD. it was piping hot. Juicy. Soupy. Crispy. Everything I wanted and more when it comes to shengjian baos. I would love to come back and try other dishes. And big bonus to have a small parking lot in the back available!
Wow - I just found my new favorite, go-to Chinese spot. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh, full of flavor, and massive portions. The owner is extremely welcoming and friendly, service was fast. The soup dumplings are a must try, as are the garlic noodles. The orange chicken was really good, the batter wasn't too thick and the chicken pieces were actually a little crunchy. Loved both. We actually went back 2 days later for a takeout order and it was just as delicious as the first time.

I visited Lin Dumpling in Sacramento, CA [5539 H St] on Tuesday, 08/25/26, around 1 PM. For lunch, I ordered the following: - Singapore Noodles - HK Shumai - Wonton in Chili Oil The dumplings and the noodle dishes were amazingly delicious. The Singapore Noodles plate was generous in portion and spicy just the way I like it. The shumai and wontons were also flavorful and enjoyable. These dishes were paired with a tad of soy sauce on the side. The service was lovely, friendly, and attentive. I loved the hospitality and welcoming spirit of the staff. The inside of the store was clean and had a decent number of tables + chairs. The price points on the menu were generally reasonable. This restaurant was a great stop for tasty dumplings and noodles! Undeniably, I will visit Lin Dumpling again in the near future. read more

We went on a Tuesday night and it was pretty packed. The restaurant itself is fairly small. Staff was efficient and friendly, some minor communication challenges but nothing major. We got the beef chow fun which had good wok hei but unfortunately a lot of the noodles were clumped in layers which didn't allow the flavor to fully infuse in them. Wontons in chili oil were very good, not heavy on the chili oil like DTF just topped with it. I found the shumai a bit weird, couldn't quite put my finger on why but just not the flavor profile I'm used to for shumai. The salt and pepper spare ribs were very crispy, the cut of meat used was strange and some of the pieces were very large. Not an issue though, the taste was great. Overall definitely a good spot to check out for dumplings and Chinese food. Prices were very reasonable for the portions. We had plenty of leftovers read more
Restaurant has few tables and looks like it was previously a sandwhich place. Plenty of parking space and easy to find. I'm pretty sure it's a family run business the way everyone communicate. The staffs are all polite and friendly. There's three of us and we're seated right away. Ordered the food and came out in about 10 minutes. The pork soup dumplings are the best I've ever had! Tried it in so many different Chinese restaurants and so far this was the best! Soup inside the dumpling is plenty and the meat and everything are tasty without being too salty! The gravy chow fun was also very delicious! The beef brisket noodle soup was mild and declious but not the best I've had. Serving was plenty and the price was reasonably good! I'll definitely come back next time I'm in the area. read more

We stopped by Lin Dumpling on a whim during Lunar New Year, so it was packed. It's tucked into a little shopping center and definitely has that old Subway restaurant charm from back in the day lol. But the second we walked in, the smell of the food let us know we made the right call. The staff were hustling nonstop to keep up with the rush and were upfront about the 25 minute wait. Totally fair, especially after smelling everything from the parking lot. We ordered the garlic noodles, orange chicken, salt and pepper fish, black pepper beef dumplings, and pork soup dumplings. The garlic noodles were loaded with fresh chopped garlic, green onions, and Parmesan with perfectly cooked noodles that soaked up all the flavor. The salt and pepper fish came out crispy with fresh garlic, red onion, and jalapeños tossed throughout. It was so good we cleared the plate and may or may not have wiped it clean after. The pork soup dumplings came out steaming hot with a super rich, savory broth inside. But the standout for me were the black pepper beef dumplings. Really bold flavor with that peppery kick. Something different from the usual dumpling and honestly so good. The orange chicken rice plate was a huge portion, easily shareable, with crispy battered chicken coated in that sweet tangy orange sauce. You can tell this is a family owned spot putting in real work to get quality food out, especially on a busy night like Lunar New Year. Love supporting local spots like this and we'll definitely be back. read more

Helpful staff and chef. This is a very small restaurant but it wasnt crowded on a weekday at lunch time. The handmade dumplings are exactly what we were looking for! Park on a side street in the neighborhood if you can't find a space. read more

Really tasty Singapore noodles to go. A lot of places make this dish very mild, but this place put enough curry powder/turmeric for me, as well as pepper flakes and a sliced green pepper. Not burning spicy hot, though--just a good tingle amount. More chicken than prawns, no char siu. Younger me would've liked the amount of bean sprouts, green onions, and onions they put. Nowadays I'd prefer a bit more. The ETA text they sent after ordering from their website was accurate. read more
Incredible portions, delicious home-style dishes, family-owned and run business, and so much available parking. Could a girl ask for more in Sacramento? We stopped in on a Monday night, and tried a handful of items from across the menu. I was most looking forward to the 水煮鱼 boiled fish, a dish that I adore from Sichuan and can't find in many places - the fragrance and flavor lived up to my nostalgia, and was paaaacked with fish and veg. It was more than enough to share and take home for lunch the next day. The hargow were good, and the baos had the right proportion of bun to filling. The garlic noodles were an enormous portion that we also took home - beef was very tender though the parmesan on top threw me off a bit. Staff were attentive, and so proud of their recipes - it was so nice to chat with the owners when they had time to check on us because the stream of diners and takeout orders while we were there. A great addition to the community, a solid replacement for Mr. Falafel (they will be missed) and I can't wait to stop in again! read more
The plaza is a little janky but the interior is more welcoming. We got the pork soup dumplings, pork and chive dumplings, and veggie garlic noodles. The soup dumplings were good. The dumpling skin is thin and there was some soup inside. My husband preferred this over the pork chive dumplings. The pork and chives dumplings looked like they'd be disappointing but I was so pleasantly surprised! There is a ton of meat inside and the chives were so fresh. I couldn't decide which dumplings I like more but think I liked this one more. I wonder if I can ask to pan fry them next time. The garlic noodles were delicious. A tad too salty for me personally, but that's probably from the parmesan. My husband said it was very garlicky, in a good way. I'm a garlic fiend so nothing is ever enough, but this I would get again. I prefer my noodles a little firmer but they still had a good chew and there were no clumps or mushyness. I am typing this up as I eat leftovers of the pork and chives dumplings and garlic noodles. Very good despite being leftovers! When leaving, the owners said bye so sweetly and with gracious smiles. I look forward to trying more dishes. read more

Finally made it back around to try out the chowfun. I was really sad when I walked in because it was 1230 and there were no customers they did have an order to go come in while I was there, but I am really concerned. I'm gonna have to make an extra effort to come eat here regularly because this restaurant is a delight and exactly what this neighborhood needs. It was just the chef I do believe he had somebody out back taking a break, but the chef took my order brought my water and cooked my chow fun to my specifications. I prefer lower salt and he made that happen. It was cooked perfectly. The beef was tender and tasty. The noodles were perfectly cooked. I really loved it. The only thing I would've added is some pineapple pieces as that is one of the ingredients in sauté beef chow fun but besides that it was pretty much perfect. The dish was huge. I take home 3/4 of it for my son and I will definitely be ordering it again. My son wants to come and try out the general ciao or orange chicken and I'm up for that because their food is so delicious and reasonably priced as well. read more

Lin Dumpling is new, and outstanding. Everything is prepared fresh and right behind the counter so you know it's fresh and brought directly to your table. The food we ordered was exactly the style we love. In particular we enjoyed the Hong Kong style chow mein with veggies. The noodles were prepared perfectly and the veggies cooked and served in a light gravy that was not salty or gloppy. 10/10 The Peking spare ribs were excellent. Sticky, vinegary and plain tasty! 10/10 The won ton with chili oil were delicious. Tasty filling, thin noodle and topped with green onions and chopped peanuts. 10/10. We preordered the Portuguese tarts and they arrived piping hot. Worth the wait. The restaurant is clean as well as the rest rooms. Staff is friendly and there was never a lull in business while we were there. Highly recommended! read more
My second visit dining at Lin's Dumpling was such a pleasant experience. This is a family owned restaurant and everyone is very affable and welcoming. I love the egg drop soup with minced beef. The broth was so flavorful that additional seasoning/sauces were not needed. I often have to add white pepper at other similar establishments; however, not at Lin's. The soup consisted of an abundance of egg whites, which I so appreciate. By far, this is the best pork XLB in the Sacramento area. The filling was flavorful and contained a good amount of soup. I enjoyed the pan fried pork buns. Flavorful filling with a crispy outer layer. The wontons in chili oil were amazingly delicious. One of the most tender wonton fillings I've had. It paired very nicely with the chili oil, green onions, and crushed peanuts. The Portuguese egg tarts are made fresh upon ordering. It is well worth the 20 minute wait. The crust consisted of flakey layers and the filling is perfectly sweet and creamy. In my experience, these are all the must try menu items. The dry beef chow fun was just okay. It could had been seasoned a little more. Plus, it did not have the "wok hei" taste that I prefer. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

Visited Lin Dumpling for the first time & I was blown away! The service is amazing, the owners greeted us as soon as we came in, they came by our table multiple times checking in on us, making sure everything was good & they were so happy to serve us! Their smiles are so contagious. The food was excellent as well! My partner & I ordered 2 items just to try it, and we insisted regretted not adding more. Food was so yummy, I already know what I want to order on my next visit! read more

Great good! A nice family run unit. The kitchen is in the open so it's fun to watch the food being prepared. The interior must have been a Subway in its earlier life. Really enjoyed the soup dumplings and sautéed green beans with garlic and chili. I could eat a whole plate of those. We were seated right away and service was great! Lots of desert options walking distance too. Give them a try! read more

Incredibly tasty, fresh food! Holy cow! This food is really wonderful! We sampled a ton of their dishes! They ranged from Very good to Great. Curry chicken bows, spicy chili wontons, Har gow, Shu mei (Shanghai or Hong Kong) garlic homemade noodles with vegetables and chicken curry bows... Holy Toledo, Batman! Only ordered 2 dishes. Brisket beef noodle soup was very tasty and worth ordering. Unfortunately, was not a fan of the pan fried dumpling (shenjianbao). There wasn't much broth and the meat inside had the texture of a meatball meant for hotpot. Going to give a neutral rating since they opened recently, but as it stands, skip the shenjianbao here. read more

This business is owed and ran by a married couple and their adult son. They are very nice. The inside is nothing fancy. It's an old Subway so it's small. The food was delicious and came out fresh. We didn't have to wait long for the food. I will be returning. read more
