We weren't even in the area but had a serious craving for dumplings, so we decided to stop by this small family-owned dumpling house--and we're so glad we did. Places like this are special because you can truly see the family working together to make it happen. The dad prepares all the dishes in the kitchen, the mom carefully makes all the dumplings, and their son runs the front as the cashier. It really adds a personal touch knowing the food is being made by the family themselves. We ordered the fried pork dumplings, the signature soup dumplings, and the beef pan-fried noodles. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The dumplings were perfectly cooked and the noodles were delicious. Even better, the total came to only $47 for all that food, which felt like a great deal for the quality and portions. Hello Lin Dumpling :) earlier today I went into Starbucks which was on the corner two stores away from Lin Dumpling and had asked for a water cup after running 5 miles... this was something I have never done before and wanted to challenge myself to see how far I can run. Well anyways the lady in Star bucks said "you have to buy something in order for us to give you a water cup." I then asked is it fine if I maybe use the restroom?" she then says the same thing... so I'm like "okay, it's good no worries thank you." Furthermore I then leave Starbucks to go to "Lin Dumpling" I asked the lady and it seem to be a male co-worker next to her prepping someone's order, I asked the lady "do you mind if I get a cup of water." Without hesitating she went to the kitchen and brought me metal pitcher of water with tons of ice, what does this mean to me? Well I'll answer that question... "Lin dumpling the restraunt doing that put into perspective that I was drenched in sweat to the point where it was dripping. that's how sweaty I was, the fact she gave me a metal pitcher full of water made the ice extremely cold really fast and it was so refreshing :) her kindness and her feeling sympathy really made me smile and definitely made my day." Wow! Best dumplings in the Sac area that I've had thus far and I've had a lot of soup dumplings but none as good as Lim's! Hong Kong shumai were awesome as was the Hong Kong style chow mein. Lin Dumpling is a new gem in East Sacramento! We went for lunch on a Thursday and there were plenty of places to sit. We started with the pickled radish and the portion was enormous! We then moved on to two different orders of dumplings (the pork soup and the chicken & corn) and both were excellent. The prices are great, too! read more

My husband and I went in on a weekend afternoon and the was able to get right to a table. Seating inside is nice enough for about 8-10 couples and some family seatings. Service was awesome! Pops and son was there so it gave that local mom and pop spot and those are always the best! IYKYK!! And yes the food was great!! We had the salt and pepper fish that was seasoned to perfection! Haven't had good salt and pepper fish since we lived in the Bay Area so this was a plus for us. We also had some HK noodle shrimp chow mein that came uncooked but in a bed of hot sauce like liquid that cooked it while you stirred it up. Different but we loved it ! Without a doubt we'll come back here, even if we aren't in the area. We had beef chow fun and sweet and sour chicken with soup Bao. Plenty of food for tomorrow's lunch. Those three items with a good tip was 57 dollars. There is limited parking in back. If you like Cantonese food, this is the place. The food here is amazing!! We got the salt and pepper beef, HK beef noodles, wonton noodle soup, hot and sour soup initially. The front of house also heavily recommended the pork soup dumplings and we were so happy he did!! Soup dumplings were perfectly textured, not too thick or thin with good flavor. We loved loved the salt and pepper beef, HK noodles and soup dumplings so much. They also had made to order egg tarts that had to be ordered 20 mins in advance because they're MADE FRESH TO ORDER. These were the most perfect egg tarts in my opinion - perfectly sweet but not too much, flaky, custardy and served piping hot. I'm coming back for these Big family ran business! The son and front of house was telling us how his mom made all the noodles and dumplings skins from scratch and how his dad runs the kitchen. Go to Lin Dumpling now! Their XLB are DELICIOUS, super thin skin with lots of meat. We all thought they were better than Tasty Dumpling. Pork chive dumplings were also very solid, especially with their home made chili sauce. The standout dish was the Sichuan water boiled beef, which they called Spicy Chili Broth. It's authentic and amazing. There were sliced potatoes, Napa cabbage, broccoli, and zucchini inside. Not too salty with great depth of flavor. Others at the restaurant had the fish version which also looked great. But beware, it is SPICY. They've been open one week, and we will definitely be back. They will be our go to dumpling place and we are looking forward to trying their noodle dishes next time. The servers were two young guys, looked like one the son of the chef, and the mom was giving them tips on how to be attentive to customers. Take it easy on them, they're still learning. read more

This place is wonderful. I have recently been trying to find the better Chinese restaurants in Sacramento and currently this is at the top of my list. The ingredients are fresh and top notch. The man at the wok does a great job of preparing them. While I would give this place a grade of A+, there are some things that the persnickety might not like - - like they serve no tea, they don't have any beer, and there is no description of the items on the menu. Also, the place is tiny. But that's OK, it will just keep the crowds down so people like me can be assured of a seat. read more

Planned on dumpling takeout but everything looked and smelled so good decided to add salt and pepper tofu and broccoli to our order. Had the pork soup dumplings fresh and they were excellent -- and the rest takeout about 30 minutes later -- and even after that amount of time, everything was just delicious. The dishes that I had were beef chow mein with thin style noodle that I asked for along with walnut shrimp, sautéed eggplant, sweet-and-sour style, black pepper dumplings, pickled radish, sautéed salt, pepper, spareribs, wonton in chili oil, pork, soup dumplings,and har gow which is a shrimp stuffed dumpling this place was phenomenal. The food are generous portions and if I had to come back here, I'm very pleased to say that the sautéed eggplant sweet-and-sour was the best I've ever had anywhere the pickled radishes surprised me it kind of tastes like a cucumber salad style dish, but it was really good and the pork dumplings were delicious too.
