Still trying to figure out why it's called Brick Tea. The main draw are the cups here. The Vanessa-strawberry and peach flavor with strawberry and lychee bits. I liked it cause wasn't overly sweet but very refreshing. The cup is included in the $5.95 price. Service was aright, order at counter and pick up. No indoor seating available as of 7.9.22 read more

Tea Brick - The Vanessa Tea - Tea Rooms Near Me - Monterey Park, California

August 2021. Takeout only. This place was not originally on my list to go to while in the San Gabriel area. However, a lot of other shops were closed, and so, I decided to give this place a try. I'm glad I did though because the drinks were refreshing. I didn't expect too much of it because the place seemed pretty dark and dirty. There were menus placed in no designated area, so look around. If not, pick a drink off the "Top 10" list off the wall and go with it. Ordered two drinks and they were thirst quenching. The drinks were served in reusable bottles with lids, which were neat. The Vanessa, strawberry with peach flavor and fruit bits were refreshing. The yummy peachee lychee, peach and lychee flavor with lychee jelly and fruit bits was my favorite. The teas were great. I like the generous amount of toppings they put in there. The service was quick too. read more

This was our first time trying this place and all of our drinks were really good. We tried several of their drinks. We tried: Peachee Lychee tea Dragon Ball Thai Tea Almond Milk Tea Nutella Snow Milk Cookies and Cream Milk Shake The drinks are fairly priced and you can get a cute cup! Seriously, every single one of our drinks was good. The boba was also made perfect. The service was good. For being busy and having to make a lot of drinks, we didn't have to wait too long. The inside of the place is nice and there's places to sit. There's parking in the back and also there's a parking garage. read more

The good: The jar/cups here are super adorable and reusable. They are tall and have fun cartoons on it (mine had koala bears). I ordered thru GrubHub and was happy they delivered. Their menu features a lot of caffeine-free options (great for those, like myself, trying to avoid caffeine). I got the chrysanthemum tea and was able to ask for zero sugar despite their online menu only having the option to click (100% or 50%). What I loved most about my drink, outside of being able to adjust the sugar to zero, was that they put the actual chrysanthemum flowers inside the cup. They have a lot of unique drink options and smoothies. They sell snack foods as well like popcorn chicken. The bad: The straws are a little too tall so when you try to close the cap on top of the straw it wont fully close. This may lead to leaks. Each drink was almost $6 but the value wasn't so bad when you consider the fact that you get to keep and reuse their fun jar/cup. The interesting: They have an horchata milk tea here! read more

What happened to the cute corgi cups? Ordered a couple drinks, picked up by a friend who brought the order over in plain plastic cups

Yay TEA BRICK I really do appreciate the slushes and teas they have here. I like that they are quick in their service and are polite. The ambiance is super chill and very clean. I like the wall art they have as it adds to their aesthetic. Their rewards program is also a great addition. read more

It's pretty good! I got lychee, green tea, lychee jelly and strawberry bits. HOWEVER...the green tea was too strong. It was stronger than all the bobas with green tea I drank. Each sip was either ok or was really bitter to the point it's like the bitterness of medicine. I don't know if I want to come back, no one likes bitter boba. My friend also got the same thing as me and has the same feelings. She even stopped drinking and went "It's too bitter, I think I wanna stop drinking this." Yeah...it's terrible but everything else is good. Wish there was an option to choose the strength or amount of green tea, I don't like it strong. I prefer it to be light, in the background or medium strength is ok. I hate that it overpowers everything else. Service was fast and place looks alright. Edit: No it's making me dizzy and want to vomit. I drank it while I was in the car and was getting motion sickness which I don't usually get. Edit again: I threw up...the green tea was too strong for me mixed with motion sickness :( read more

Tea Brick - Lycheeberry Tea - Tea Rooms Near Me - Monterey Park, California

Tea Brick is one of the OG boba places that was around when the whole boba craze started in the SGV, and even 10 years later, their original handcrafted drinks with cool names stand out among the many other local boba shops. Their reusable cups with cute corgi designs is what truly makes them unique. The designs regularly rotate throughout the year and are each very collectible (spoiler: I have a drawer of them at home) There's parking in the the back lot, but be aware that it can be a little tight on space and can be packed during the evening/weekend hours. The inside is well lit, with paintings of corgis on the wall as well as their top 10 drink options. What used to be sitting space is now spacious standing-only room. The workers there are nice and friendly, and won't hesitate to help you make choices or customizations if you request for them. For food and drink choices, they have a good selection to choose from. Their snack options are not much, with standard boba shop fare like brick toast and popcorn chicken available. What makes Tea Brick stand out is their varied drinks options, and there is A LOT to choose from. Going through the menu will take time, with drinks from soda bombs to milkshakes and milk teas available. I got Love at First Sight, a drink that has come to define Tea Brick for me as one of their original drinks since the beginning. It's an iced mango and passionfruit tea with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and mango bits. The tropical passionfruit taste shines throughout, and the vanilla ice cream adds a subtle milky sweetness to it. The mango bits are a little tart and crunchy. Mix it all together, and it's a creamy tea that's light and refreshing without being too overpowering on any one ingredient. This place is worth coming to, and 10 years later is still a must-try if you're ever in the area! read more

I've been coming here for years with my girls. We have our lunch date next door at Mama Lu's then we head over to Tea Bricks for our drink desserts. My favorite is the Lychee Soda Bomb! (A must try if you love lychee & ice cream) The drinks are amazing! Though as time has gone by, the staff seem to be less welcoming which is why I give it 4 stars. read more

My friend introduced me to Tea Brick back in high school and it became one of my favorite tea places over the last few years. I love their cute cups and their fruit teas. I usually choose between The Christine, The Vanessa, Love at First Sight or the Guava Lava. And their popcorn chicken and fries are also very good! I came here twice this year during COVID and I noticed the quality went down and the portions are much smaller with a noticeable price increase. I love this place! Their cups are so cute! Came here on a little friend date and we were pleasantly surprised by the service. Came here after some yummy Mama Lu's. I got the lychee peach tea and it was so good. I forgot to ask for extra sweet and they remade my whole drink. It was so nice. I had to come back a second time for their mango smoothie and I'm so glad I did. Their mango smoothie did not disappoint. It's so good and exactly what I was looking for. Perfectly blended with a creamy mango flavor. The inside looks like half and half and there's plenty of street parking or parking behind the plaza. On a hunt to find a new boba location since the one I've been going to end up closing down due to lease was up. I found this one on Yelp and saw these cute cup design for the drinks. I ordered the Peach Green Tea with boba and my co worker ordered the Jasmine Green Tea. Our drinks weren't as sweet. The boba I got was really hard that it wasn't enjoyable so I wouldn't order that again. The cup was cute and you can keep it after finishing the drink. There is no discount for reusing the cup. I may come back to try a different drink, but will have to ask for extra sweet. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a lot of parking spaces. read more

The reusable bottles (designs change often) are honestly what attracted me but the shop itself is sooo cute I love how it gives such homey-early-626 vibes with that red brick wall theme and board games I have not tried any of the milk tea drinks but I'll be back. The taste is so refreshing, especially the fruity drinks. There are cut-up bits of fruits and jellies to chew on but the only downside is that it's kinda hard to get them through the big straw. You can screw on the cap (but you'll have to bend the straw) and save the rest later! read more

I'm not sure how to feel about service. They are hardly there. There is a little kiosk that lets you order your drinks, and you don't have to interact with any of the staff members. I stopped going to the kiosk because if you have a five star account you can accumulate points for a free drink, but that's only if you aren't in a hurry and are willing to wait for someone to come and take your order. I love getting their teas as a slushie, I only order their fruit teas because they don't offer lactose free milk. They do have almond milk but I'm not certain which ones you can or cannot substitute. But I like to stick with the slushies they are refreshing during the summer. In the rainy season, I like getting the fruit teas hot. The real star of the show is their brick toast. They are absolutely delicious!! The condensed milk is a classic, light, and feels fresh. It comes with vanilla ice cream and fruit. Their chocolate Nutella is rich and sweet. It comes with vanilla ice cream and fruit as well. Their matcha flavor comes with matcha ice cream, fruit, and is dusted with matcha powder. I don't recommend it if you don't like matcha. read more

For some reason, when Covid happened, we cut a lot of non-essentials out of our lives. Of course, boba milk tea drinks are an essential, so we still frequent Tea Brick! The drinks are as good as ever. Whether I'm in the mood for some strong, classic milk tea, or some delicious fruity teas, Tea Brick always hits the spot. I love how their tea is always strong, and the bottles are big. I think it measured a little over 21 ounces. The cute drawings on the cups don't hurt. I reuse the bottles as water bottles when I work out, or back when I used to have to go to work. My kids are allergic to dairy, but they love the fruity teas. My daughter would probably drink the entire thing if I let her! She loves the green tea with strawberry and mango. I recommend ordering on the app, waiting for the timer, and picking up the drink when it is ready, to save time. You can just go to their pick up window and flag someone down. read more

I like their boba drinks, though it tends to be on the sweeter side so I always order it 75% sweet & it is still sweet to me. I am a boba lover so the boba texture is a huge determining factor of if I like this boba spot or not. If serve soft mushy boba, I am not coming back. Boba should compliment the drink. I hate overcooked or soft boba. I am a chewy boba type. The boba here is chewy & bouncy. Just how I like it. Their popcorn chicken ain't a hit for me. I prefer popcorn chicken at quickly's cause it's dark meat, has some fat in the meat, moist, and has a good crunch. The popcorn chicken here is straight up white meat so it's of course dry when fried. Not a fan. This is my preference. read more

I found this place because of a friend that used to work over there. I remember when it was my first time that I had him recommend something for me. I wanted something fruity - not so much creamy, so he had me order the "Christine Green Tea." The Christine Green Tea had bits of fruit in it. I dont remember all the fruits in it, but i do remember some watermelon out of the bunch, and it actually tasted really good. With or without boba (or tapioca) it still tastes really good. I like the Jelly add-on, i actually add that most of the time now - that and or the eggnog pudding. There is a neutral gender restroom inside, but you will need to ask for the key from the cashier. Parking may look tight from above, but there is also a lot of parking underground. If youre in a rush, you can also call-in your order, and just pay for it when you arrive. Its a chill spot with Wi-Fi and ample seating. Have fun! read more

Absolutely love the reusable cute cup/bottle and good service but the drink quality is not consistent. I ordered the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with Boba (less ice and 75% sweetness) while my friend got the Hokkaido Milk Tea with the same ice and sweetness. While theirs had a lovely Hokkaido flavor and well cooked boba, mine tasted heavily diluted and my pearls were almost considered uncooked in the center. Overall, I would have recommended this place for their cute bottles and reasonably priced drinks if it wasn't for the hit or miss aspect of my experience. read more

**CARD ONLY DUE TO COVID-19** Honestly I used to love this place because it was close to home. I even brought my college friends here. I wanted a quick boba fix so I decided to come stop by again. I ordered on the phone and came to pick it up. My total was $12 for 2 drinks which is pretty pricey. And the cups aren't that big either (but you get to keep the cups so I guess?) I don't remember their drinks being around $6 each. Their boba was warm when I touched the bottle, but the consistency wasn't great. I had some chewy bobas but I also had some that were hard. Yes, the cups are cute and reusable, which explains the above average prices. However, the drinks themselves just aren't that great. I've only ordered from their "Top 10" list, hoping to find something that I really like (but didn't find any). The Christine: Fruit pieces were too big, couldn't fit through the straw. Mix of strawberry, mango, and passion fruit flavors... Very average tea to me. I forgot to ask for 50% sweet, so the drink was too sweet with regular sweetness. Matchamisu Milk Tea: This is supposed to be matcha and tiramisu? It was a strange flavor. Did not taste like authentic matcha. Maybe it just wasn't for me. Caramel Snow Milk: Not bad. Tastes like caramel blended with milk, as expected. Comes with honey boba, but the boba isn't even good. I would rather drink it without any toppings. The good thing is that they don't fill up the cups with a bunch of ice. There is a good ratio of the tea, ice, and toppings. Plus they also provide bags to carry the drinks. On my last visit, the music was super loud, you can hear it blasting from outside... I couldn't even hear the cashier speak. It's not always like this though. Card only/no cash accepted during COVID-19. Be prepared. read more

Once I saw pictures of the reusable corgi cups on Yelp, I knew I had to visit Tea Brick. I was definitely caught by surprise walking in because the decor wasn't what I expected. It was pretty dim inside with minimal decor. The tables were sticky and dirty, and I even found a fake eyelash on one. On the bright side, I guess that means that the ABGs approve of this boba place. I ordered the Yummee Peachee Lychee with boba. Honestly I thought the price wasn't too bad and the $0.40 upgrade to get the reusable cup was totally worth it. The service was just okay because the woman who took my order wasn't very friendly. I really enjoyed the tea itself. I forgot to modify the sweetness to be less, but I found that 100% wasn't bad at all. While I enjoyed the chunks of fresh fruit in the bottom of the drink, they were cut into pieces that were too large, so they kept getting stuck in my straw. The boba itself had a good consistency, but it was a bit flavorless. I would have preferred if it had more sweetness to it. I don't think this a good place to hang out and meet with friends just because the interior was not very clean. However, I would consider coming back to get some tea to-go and to get my hands on more of the corgi cups! read more

This 1 star is based off the boba size not fitting in their straw, which could really kill someone if they choke! I will say I was glad to find a place where they serve cute cups close to me. I used to drive to Roasting Water in Long Beach. So this part is nice! Their cups- I mean adorable. Irving else to say, just look at them! But a serious concern, and I really hope the shop is reading this. The size of your boba is too large for your straw. What that does is forces the boba into the straw blocking the beverage from coming up the straw. This can really cause someone to choke on the boba! This can also spill the beverage on clothing. All in all, this was a big inconvenience and because of this probably will not return to Tea Brick. It should not be this hard to sip Thai ice tea from a straw. Too much work and mess, and frankly it tastes too milky. I haven't had the chance to try the Christine , which is this popular drink, but Thai ice tea there is not even sweet. Plus beware of the large boba! read more

I love discovering new boba places with my daughter. This store is small so if you blink, you might miss it. Parking is on the street or around the back of the building. COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. The staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has no outdoor seating available with limited capacity. They are also sanitizing in between customers. While I was grabbing my drink from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is behind the building. It's really small, so you might have to park on the street. The spaces are a bit small too. Drink: I ordered a Thai tea with boba. It was way to sweet for me, so I unfortunately didn't finish it. It was my fault though. I completely forgot to tell the person taking my order to make it less sweet. But the Thai tea was good nevertheless. The boba were very soft and easy to chew on. I do like this boba place! It's a bit pricey but so far the teas I've tried have tasted really great and the reusable containers they put the drinks in are SUPER cute. The first time I tried this place, my drink was in a container with corgis printed on it. The second time there were shiba inus printed on it. The containers are made of plastic so it's not a good idea to put hot water in them. My friend tried it and her container melted. So far, the ones I've tried have been Love at First Sight and their limited edition Cheesecake milk tea. The Love at First Sight drink is super popular and I can see why if you're going for a refreshing drink. It's fruity and not too sweet. I really like the vanilla ice cream in it too. The cheesecake milk tea was also really great! It was definitely sweeter than the Love at First Sight but not overwhelmingly sweet. I'm not sure if it'll be a regular item but it's worth a try if you happen to be around the area and want some boba. It's usually street parking around the area but I've never had much trouble finding parking. While this place is a great place to chill and hang, it's not really a great place to study at since there's not that many plug outlets and it is pretty noisy inside. This place is still open, but they are only doing take-out and I believe they are available on various delivery apps as well. read more

If you like a proper milk tea, this is not the place for it. They do a series of overly sweet drinks and I wouldn't call them boba aside from those little chewy subpar balls that they add to drinks. The reusable cups is a nice idea for the environment, but they are so flimsy that they're not very good containers and your straw will just swim around the wide open mouth. Can't have it open and drink from it in the car or walking around because of the design. read more

Tea Brick was the perfect way to end a pretty 'meh' Hot Pot experience that we had in the nearby area. All of us in the car are big boba drinkers so we prefer drinks that aren't solely based on powder or syrup, and actually kick it up a notch in the quality department. If you're going to spend over $5 on a beverage, you want it to be worthwhile right? Oh, and you could spend a bit more to get an extra cute cup with corgis. I ordered their Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Boba. The black milk tea was really good and the brown sugar added a rush of sweetness. Boba here was soft when we had it so I totally approved. Everything was on point as expected and our boba journey was a success. Also, big props to the artist who designed the beautiful murals and wrote out the "top drinks" menu because it is impeccable. We saw their cups on social media and thought they were really cute. My friend wanted the cherry blossom one, but it's from an old picture so she knew it wouldn't be available anymore. We also saw a picture of the Halloween cup with cats on it and I got really excited - I really wanted that cup, and we figured it would be available since it's not even October yet. When my friends and I arrived, we waited in line. When it was our turn, we asked about which cups they had and the girl said it's the koala. My friend asked, do you have the cherry blossoms, and she said no that was from a long time ago. I said what about the Halloween cats, and she said we're sold out. The girl was very matter of fact and short with her answer. I was hoping that she would say sorry or give more information such as if they will (or won't) be getting more at a later time, but she just stood there staring at us to make a decision. Since I didn't want the koala cup, I didn't want to order my own drink in case the drink itself wasn't any good, so my friend and I ended up sharing a drink so that she could keep the cup and I didn't need to end up with a cup I didn't want cluttering my cupboard. Almond milk tea with boba - the boba was just right, not too hard and not to soft. The flavor of the almond milk tea was good. I'm glad the drink itself wasn't a disappointment! Mango snow milk - the flavor was good on this and it has real mango fruit on top and lots of mango syrup. read more
