The focus of this restaurant is on Birria, both beef and lamb. There isn't a variety of other Mexican dishes here such as enchiladas, burritos or seafood. There is instead a plethora of ways to eat the Birria including tacos, quesa-birria, and stew bowls only in beef or lamb. No chicken or vegetarian options available. I ordered the lamb Birria, which came in a standard sized bowl. The portions were modest, and the ratio from broth to chunks of meat was reasonable. While this place was highly rated, I found my meal to be average in both size and taste. When it comes to this delicious dish, I am a bit of a connoisseur, and I've had birria in different parts of Mexico, including Mexicali, Guadalajara, Ensenada and outside of Mexico- restaurants throughout Los Angeles and all the way up to northern California. This was not the best tasting birria I have experience up-to-date but it also was not disappointing. The flavors were standard and fair yet not memorable. I would recommend this establishment. Tip: my usual order at these places is the stew in a bowl with a side of corn tortillas. For those with larger appetites, I would suggest ordering the same thing, but consider adding one-to-two quesa-Birrias to reach satisfaction. Plus for 2 shrimp tacos and 2 fish tacos it was only $10 usd. If you don't have cash in pesos, they also do take Apple Pay. When we went they had a crazy long line, I think we waited about 30 minutes in sun to order. However once you get to the front of the line, it's a super quick process with food ready to go. Once you get your tacos, you then scurry to put on whatever toppings and salsas you like. There are only a couple of tables and they were very full & busy when we were there so we took our tacos to the nearby river to eat. A lot of people stand around and just eat there. There was a father & son singing for pesos while we were there, too. Spanish is preferred but they can do English, as well. If you are coming from the cruise port, it's about a 20 minute easy walk.

The servers are awesome, they are quick and always come around to check on us. We speak some Spanish, but they are happy to speak English as needed! Unfortunateley there is only 1 bathroom, that's the only drawback. We normally get the regular oysters, the baked oysters, fish tacos and ceviche. Always delicious and such a great price! A dozen oysters is only $12. And they are large, not the mini versions in Cali. Unheard of in the states, so we ONLY get oysters in Mexico haha. This time we tried the Keto Taco - OMG so good, and now a new favorite. It's large and made of toasty cheese with fish and veggies inside. This time we got the shrimp ceviche and the large chunks of fresh shrimp are so darn good. Put some mayonesa on the tostada and then some ceviche, then some hot sauce and WOW! The limes they give are so juicy and ripe. We love their sangria, large portions and various flavors. Till next time!
