Baked creamy Clam and shrimp croquettes (not really accurate but that's what they called it)
    Melissa K.

We selected this restaurant since we were staying at the Indomito glamping resort in Valle and we didn't know what was available in the area on Christmas Eve. They were the first to answer and be open for dinner so we reserved. We arrived after bumping down various dirt roads and passing through some less attractive surroundings. This property is glamorous and beautiful once you arrive. We were greeted with the gate staff that asked our reservation name and took down our license plate. Not sure what they do with that information but they took it. Then they jog up and show you where to park. We were seated promptly. We were greeted promptly by the waiter. We were asked if we wanted the 4 course Christmas dinner or something from the grill. We chose the 4 course with wine pairing. They were also very accommodating of our vegetarian eater. The food was delicious but quite small plates. Not much meat. One shrimp with the bean tostada thing, a very crunchy very small beef tongue burrito. The wine pairing was nice but almost a joke! They poured about 1 ounce of each wine. I'd say it wasn't a pairing but a tasting. There was not enough wine to drink with the course. That was disappointing and very misleading in the advertising of the special. Then before they brought the dessert they asked if we wanted to order additional steaks from the grill separate from the 4 course meal. We were confused and asked how much out of curiosity. They were trying to sell us a $300 US dollars tomahawk steak or ribeye. We chuckled and said no. We thought it was odd. Like they knew we were still hungry because the meal so far was pretty small. Dessert was different. It was kind of like an extremely over cooked dry hollow funnel cake with ice cream and caramel sauce. I should have asked the price for the dinner when I booked but didn't think too much of it as most places even fancy in Baja are really reasonable. EEK.... Not here! For the 4 of us without anything else except the meal... it was $467 US dollars! That was very shocking. Especially for what we actually received. The building is beautiful as is the property, but this was not worth the price tag! Yes service was great they were very prompt and attentive. I just would not have paid $500 for dinner. It wasn't that great and in the end all 4 wine pairings for 1 person didn't amount to a full glass of wine. That was a joke in all honesty. I would only recommend this place if you like to throw away money on things that aren't worth it.

Had a fantastic early dinner here! Service was friendly and prompt. We were pretty full from our previous stops, but wanted a chill place to end the day. Salvia Blanca was a great stop for beverages and appetizers. Everything we ordered was delicious, prepared with care and great flavors. The music was bumping. We ended up relaxing at the fire pit to close out our evening. Would return to try more of their menu.

This is a hidden breakfast gem in Valle! We had reservations for 9:00am and aside from another group, it was just us, which meant we had very attentive service. The restaurant is beautiful and has many spots for great photos. I got the Guava Mimosa and found it to be quite refreshing. My boyfriend got a hot chocolate and said it was the best he's ever had! The waiter asked if we would like a sweet bread, and of course we said yes. He promptly brought out a warm concha that had Dulce de leche in the center. It was very tasty. For breakfast, we ordered the banana pancakes and the chilaquiles (verde - with egg & melted cheese). The Chilaquiles was by far the best I've had in a very long time. Way better than the one I got at La Cocina de Doña Esthela. The banana pancakes were thick and fluffy. We can't wait to return! This will be our new breakfast spot when in Valle!

We came for both dinner and brunch - both meals were winners. The octopus and steak isn't to be missed in the evening. And the chilaquiles and pancakes are what to start the day with. The ambiance is equally as lovely. The cozy, wood soaked, and fireplace laden dining room for the cool evenings. And then the lush, garden framed patio on a warm day are two inviting dining experiences. The grounds are beautiful. The staff is so friendly and take care of every need. If I'm back in the area, this will always be a visit.

Chef Ayala nailed the pork belly!! Hands down the best I've had and I've had many in different places. This is by far the best!!! Chef Ayala is a blessing to Salvia Blanca. I will return!

Need to escape to a field of lavender and sage and great Baja food? Then Salvia Blanca is your place. The best part of this restaurant is that there is a beautiful hotel attached to it. My first visit was last summer during the middle of the pandemic but I was at ease knowing that I was safe and I did not have to leave this place during my stay. I have to admit, the restaurant is the best amazing. Start with their house cocktail mezcalito with burning safe and mezcal! Their breakfast is delicious that is very hard to deject what to eat. Then dinner is the best. They have a great selection of wines that pairs with the incredible dishes like the crispy octopus, tuétano, and table of cheeses. I love the papada de cerdo, the fish plate, and this last time I finally got the the beef rib plate OMG! They have a great selection and I definitely recommend it

This was our first stop a Valle and it was amazing. Not only was the staff outstanding but the food and drinks were so tasty. For starters we had the Aguachile Oysters ; they were so delicious with a good kick of spice. Highly recommend. We also ordered ribeye that was cooked perfectly and super tender. Drinks were great we decided to start with something other than wine: the Madre Tierra tequila drink is a must try. All in all 100% recommend this place. The vibe was super chill and the staff was so great. Definitely stop by

Yes, this place is awesome. Top drawer service. Fireplaces. Great relaxing boss nova music. I had the tiradito which was serves in a homemade ponzu sauce and avocado pearls. Also with homemade blue corn crispy tostadas. Ohh yeah. It was as good as you imagine. I had also a ceviche with scallops, shrimp and octopus. I was in heaven. Come try this plac

I stayed at hotel and looked forward to dinner at restaurant. I had no problems getting a table during weekday. My favorites were the small plates and drinks. The aguachile oyster was amazing. My table ordered the pork chops and rib eye steak. The pork chop was dry so do not recommend ordering. The ribeye was good but huge. It could feed 3 people which we shared and we ordered the half size. The only thing that I didn't like is they charged us for premium steak without asking. We paid but it was not okay To charge for something we didn't ask for which is why I gave 4 stars.

I really recommend this place, first of all the service is amazing they treated us like royalty. I really recommend making a reservation and sitting outside, they have live music with songs in Spanish and in English The gardens are beautiful, they have fragrant lavender and sage fields. As a mom I love my kid friendly places, my little ones were running around and exploring, there's a place with swings and lots of details (bird baths, houses for the gnomes). The views are so relaxing. Thank you Miguel and all the staff for the service!

Came to Salvia Blanca for Sunday Brunch! We made reservations via what's app for 11AM. Just like any other place is valle, this place makes you go on an off road adventure on a dirt road just follow the signs and Google maps. Upon arrival we were seated promptly and they had a live group playing called Guerrero Acústico that was AMAZING literally made me want to cry! This place is 10/10 for ambiance and vibe! Food however wasn't anything special my group rated it an average 6 out of 10. The Chipotle sauce was whatever nothing great I enjoyed the green sauce chillaquiles more. My friend got the steak and eggs and said they were okay nothing special. The banana pancakes were also whatever. We got a moet bottle for mimosas which was fun and nice. Overall what i enjoyed most about this brunch was the vibe. I do see myself coming back just to hear the group playing. Their full menu is available online and I do recommend making a reservation!

I told myself if I'm ever in the area again, I have to make an effort to eat at this place. Well, the opportunity arose as I was staying at a nearby winery. The biggest problem I encountered was finding a ride to get to this restaurant. Taxis are nonexistent in the area. Ubers are only in the area when someone from Ensenada requests a round trip to the area, so no they are not available to others. Therefore, I expressed my frustration with the front desk at my winery hotel and they took on the task of finding me private transportation. About 40 minutes later, they called my room to inform me that they located a driver. Unfortunately, he requested an inflated price for the to and from the restaurant. Private drivers down here know that you have few choices, therefore, they can ask inflated prices. Yes, I was in a pickle, but I really wanted to go. I did not rent a car because many of the roads hug cliffs and everyone drives fast, because they know where all of the mountain curves are. Being from Chicago, where we also drive fast but don't have mountain cliff roads decided to play it safe and let others do the driving for me. Anyhow, I debated, and in the end agreed to the expensive terms because when I going to get the opportunity again to eat at a place rated best breakfast in the world? How was the breakfast? It was absolutely delicious, everything was made from scratch. I ordered the cafe de la olla which interprets into coffee from the pot because typically it is prepared with raw sugar (piloncillo), canella (cinnamon sticks), and orange zest. How was the coffee? Delicious. I had some machaca (small bits of dried beef) with eggs which came with delicious refried beans. I also ordered the excellent chilaquiles with an egg and a side of bacon. I also needed to order the one thing most talk about on their menu which is the corn bread pancakes. They used the recipe for a typical corn bread sold down here called pan de elote to make the pancakes, and yes, they were excellent. Turning the batter from this recipe into pancakes was a brilliant idea. Also, I cannot leave out the great tasting freshly made corn tortillas that came with the food. The tortillas down here taste different from the ones back in Chicago because down here a white heirloom corn is utilized rather than the sweet yellow dent corn from the Midwest. Was it the best breakfast that I have ever had in Mexico, or anywhere else for that matter? Well, it definitely lived up to the hype the breakfast was amazing and I do highly recommend it. If you do decide to visit, my best advice is show up early because a line forms very early. I have been lucky to have also had other amazing breakfasts in Mexico and other places in my travels. The secret to this restaurant sits right behind it. On the restaurant grounds is an active ranch, which also doubles as a small zoo, where they source their milk and meats from. Yes, they raise their own animals which later become items on the menu. Does that fresh matter? Yes, it absolutely does make all of the difference. Does it sound cruel? Well, that is a whole other conversation. Let's just say the animals are treated humanely. All of the livestock looked happy as they roamed around the grounds. Unlike the way livestock is treated inhumanly in the United States in dirty overcrowded housing where some never get to see the sun or roam freely in the open air. Livestock in the US are constantly given antibiotics and growth hormones, also fed gmo feed with questionable health implications for those that consume them.

The charcuterie board stood out with its excellent variety of artisanal cheeses and meats, all beautifully presented. Some of the cheeses were from the goats on the property, pretty cool--and other fresh ingredients came from the region. The "Torre de Uchepo" (Uchepo Tower) was the best. Uchepo is a soft tamale made from white corn, traditional to Michoacán, and here it is taken to another level. It's served with pork rib and a green tomato and puya pepper sauce, topped with fresh farm cream and Cotija cheese. An absolute must! The wines, all produced from the on-site winery, paired perfectly with both the charcuterie board and the tamale dish. The peaceful views of ducks in a small pond and a nearby pasture with sheep and horses. They have dogs too, which are all so friendly and, in my opinion, added to the experience as a dog lover. It's a serene experience that perfectly complements the quality of the food and wine. And the service, the service is like no other. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy the best of Valle de Guadalupe's culinary and wine scene. I look forward to returning for an actual meal, we had dinner reservations, but wanted to stop by. The restaurant is off the beaten path. Both the green and red salsa were not too spicy and to my surprise, went well with the toasted bread. For our main courses: 1. Grilled Octopus - 5 star presentation!
