Came here on the recommendation of our B&B proprietors. It did not disappoint. The vibe is rustic with both indoor and outdoor seating. The waiter was fantastic. He made excellent recommendations. First was the complentery bread which was fresh and went nicely with the house salsas. The salsas were superb. Next came the sashimi which was served with apples. Made for a complex, interesting dish. Tuna was fresh. For entree, I had the catch of the day which was yellowtail. This was served with a small salad and risotto. A very hearty meal. For a finish, fried plantains and ice cream were great. Very good dessert. We also had the chocolate cake which was so-so. A fine meal indeed.
Incredible find. The chef is a knowledgeable master; very creative and delectable fusions. He is very humble and gave us excellent service. I understand all the 5 star reviews. We got a wine bottle that I didnt like and he promptly opened a new bottle for us at no cost. Everything we tried was excellent!! No complains. Impecable down to the details, amazing flavors!! We were wowed. Apple Maps said it was closed but we called and they were open, so call ahead. We had the restaurant to ourselves.
This was a truly amazing meal during our trip to Valle de Guadalupe. Somewhat of a hole in the wall, but so lovely - the service was great, the fire was roaring (so cozy!), and the food was truly superb (and inexpensive!). Portions were ginormous so we accidentally really over-ordered. However, everything was so amazing we couldn't stop eating. The appetizers were lovely - I highly recommend the wonderful ceviche and the tostadas (rabbit, fuck, and tripe). Our entrees were also exceptional; our favorites were the sublime lamb ribs and the pork shank in mole!! Yum!

Absolute quality Mexi-Cali cuisine Very attractive rustic aesthetic with a friendly environment - the entrees are presented/decorated beautifully- highly recommend the smoked octopus and tripe with the white wine sangria - definitely a place to stop by more than once
What a hidden gem this place Wife and I enjoyed dinner st this restaurant yesterday and what an amazing experience. This restaurant has s very old rustic look from the outside not very impressive but once you walk inside the experience is unreal. Our server, which I am bad with names, was so attentive and helpful. He provided a complete list of foods in detail and suggested a wine to pair with it. We ordered their special that night a three course meal. First, the appetizer wife enjoyed a cream of carrots with local crema, amazing flavor. I enjoyed the ceviche de callo, scallops, with this raspberry and guava dressing. The server brought out chips made from their house bread for the ceviche. What amazing flavors. I can't even explain how amazing this ceviche is. For the main course/Plato fuerte. Wife enjoyed roasted perdiz/partridge accompanied by local veggies. I enjoyed the smoked lamb on a bed of mashed potatoes with local veggies and mole sauce. Wow the flavors on everything was just perfect. For dessert we both ordered the guava tart. Amazing flavor from their local guavas. What an amazing experience. We have visited the valley many times and this little gem is one of the best restaurants We've ever visited. Having hit the usual high end tourist spots etc... we we're looking for something off the beaten path. No view as it's tucked into a small town at the south end of Guadalupe. My girlfriend and I walked into the restaurant after a recommendation by a local bed and breakfast host. We wanted to try a local "under the tourist radar" spot that served local fare like rabbit and quail. The food was outstanding and you could tell the owner (Frederico) was passionate and knowledgeable about the ingredients and execution. The shredded rabbit tostada is amazing along with the oysters. Pic attached. He's very generous with the wine pours and his prices are very reasonable. We can't wait to go back. Also, we loved his Olive oil and bread. Frederico gave us the name of his olive oil supplier and we were able to go buy a gallon the next day for $20 dollars! The location is a little out of the way from the heart of the wine country but well within range and worth a visit. Food - 5 stars (Oysters and Rabbit) Service - 5 stars (owner will visit your table) Ambiance - 4.5 stars (no view) Price to Value - 5 stars ($52 for 2 entrees, 2 glasses of wine, and 2 appetizers) Bottom line: enjoy the sunset from your hotel or winery then visit Federico for an amazing meal with personal service at a great price.
Absolutely incredible find!! My family and I happened to discover this beautiful, rustic restaurant on our way to the wineries (thank you fellow Yelpers) So happy we found this place! The food as you can see is uniquely presented with exquisite tastes. I ordered the tuna ceviche- mixed with mangos and cucumbers and it was delicious!!!! I would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area!! It's worth a visit!!
Best food I've had in all of Baja!! Highly recommend anyone who's looking for super amazing food. The cauliflower salad is really good as well as their grilled octopus. The desert was the greatest desert I've ever had so much flavor in each dish and ever bite. The presentation is beautiful. There isn't one thing here I wouldn't eat because everything is good! 5 stars all the way! Give them the business cause they deserve it. Super friendly and wonderful service!
6 STARS IF I COULD! Extremely artistic and aesthetic presentation. Appetizer 1 was a homemade Mexican home smoked sausage. Perfectly spiced with a natural smoke flavor. Appetizer 2 was seared ribeye with a medley of sauces that I think came from heaven. Salad was a seasonal plate, with grilled fruits and fresh greens sprinkled with glazed nuts, tossed in a light vinaigrette. Main dish was a smoked Octopus and smoked Tripe platter, served with fresh salsa and guacamole. The smoked Tripe was the most incredible tripe I have ever tasted. The smoked Octopus could win awards anywhere. I love octopus to start with, but the Smokey flavor gave it an extremely special taste. Dessert was a composed plate of lavender infused Flan ,date jam with nut brittle, sweetened yellow radish paste that made me smile, tangerine marmalade and tangerine homemade ice cream. Probably one of the 10 best for my entire lifetime. Do yourself a favor and try this place!
Loved my experience here super friendly and the food was very good I would highly recommend the cauliflower salad I didn't take picture because it was so yummy ! The service is very well it's super fast but you can tell they take there time with how they present there food ! Definitely will be coming back thank you !
This is a "must go to" restaurant. The ambiance is relaxed and elegant. The food is magical; the presentation is artistic and the complexity of flavors is extraordinary. The selection of wines highlight the premier choices from the Valle de Guadelupe and pair perfectly with the food selections. The staff, particularly César, are attentive, knowledgeable, professional and charming. The experience is as if you were dining in their home and they are serving the best just for you. My fiancée and I loved it, returned for a second evening and can't wait to return again and again!
Quaint and cute, pleasantly surprised. Two fish choices were amazing. I had the octopus and tripas. At first taste I found the octopus a bit overcooked. Well, once I put everything together into a taco, it was a perfect marriage with the crispy tripas and the guacamole. The waiters wine selection was also on point. The cheese and meats appetizer was heavenly, as the bread. I knocked one star because they didn't ask us if we wanted dessert and they never refilled our water.

We came here on the recommendation of our Bed and Breakfast hosts. As we were in the Valle over 4th of July weekend, many of the restaurants in the area were fully booked for dinner. Luckily, we were able to secure a table at Quercus. The waiter was prompt and gave us excellent recommendations for dinner. The chef was also quick to come and ensure that any questions we had about the menu were answered. The bread was served fresh with salsa - a combination I have not had before. Both the green and red salsa were not too spicy and to my surprise, went well with the toasted bread. For our main courses: 1. Grilled Octopus - 5 star presentation! Well seasoned and not chewy - which is something many other restaurants get wrong. The octopus still had a bite, but was still tender enough. It went well with the pickled onions and the guacamole that was served with the dish. 2. Ribeye - Again, excellent presentation befitting of fine dining. This was a huge portion, but well seasoned and not dry. We opted for the 500g (larger) size upon recommendation of our waiter, but probably could have gone for the smaller size. We could not finish it; perhaps if we had 3 people dining. Our meal was paired with an excellent white wine blend from one of the local wineries upon recommendation of our waiter. Highly recommended if you are in the area looking for a restaurant to have dinner at. If I were to describe this place: mediterranean food with a Mexican flare. read more

This was a pleasant surprise! Came in with a large group and I cannot tell you how amazing everything was from the presentation to the flavor! I have attached photos of most of the deliciousness! The cheese plate, the tomato soup, and the pork shank were my favorites. I did personally order the grilled octopus, it wasn't cleaned super properly and a lot of bits of it were over the top chewy but did have potential to be great! Also, with being sick I had ordered some hot tea and all I received was hot water with a sprig of mint lol. But all in all this place was amazing! read more

My spouse and I stopped in for dinner on the recommendation of the owner of our B&B and I am so glad we did. Perfectly treated food plated beautifully, and excellent wines to boot. Our server was extremely solicitous and the overall atmosphere was a great mix of comfort and quality. I would absolutely recommend. read more

Our 2nd time visiting and just as Amazingly delicious as the 1st time. Service is so personal. The place has a very cozy and cottage feel. The owner really prides himself in the food and quality. My husband and I ALWAYS come to eat here when we stay at our B&B in el ruta de vino! This is a nice quiet restaurant with AMAZING food that never disappoints and the owner greets you at the door. Goes without saying Quercus has great personalized service. If you're in town, eat here! The sachimi is amazing! Last night my husband had lomo de cerdo and the meat was falling off the bone. The is truly a "hidden gem" !! Doesn't look like much outside but once you step inside, the atmosphere really changes. It was an amazing dining experience to say the least. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves for a brief time, the service was Fantastic. A must to try if you are in staying in the Ville ! read more

Found this little cute restaurant on yelp after wine tasting and it was amazing! The waiter gave us some recommendations which all sounded really good. We got an appetizer which was ceviche, like no other ceviche I have ever tasted before (in a good way). I went with the catch of the day premium dish, my boyfriend went with the pork bbq ribs sesonal style (don't remember exact names) but both were absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. Price wasn't bad either and the portions were huge! Great customer service! read more

Tonight is our second time eating at Quercus and we are officially in love. No matter what you hear about all the famous gourmet restaurants in the Valle de Guadalupe, this hidden gem, in the heart of the little town of San Antonio de Las Minas has, hands down, the best and most delicious food in the valley. Unpretentious, this is the place that Anthony Bourdain would discover, and rave about. Come here and you won't be disappointed. Maybe not the best ambiance, but if fantastically prepared and unique delicacies is what you want, this is your place. Frederico is an excellent host replete with historical anecdotes of the local area. I'm attaching photos that speak for themselves, including the ensalada, tuna ceviche & the most incredible raw oysters con aquachile! Our entrees were the yellowtail "catch of the day" & the most delectable Chamorro de cerdo- pork shank that was enormous and falling off the bone with the best heche en la casa mashed potatoes ever. Portions are generous, and at half the price of most of the famous spots. If the secret gets out, this place will be flooded. I never write Yelp reviews, but this place deserved 5 stars so I decided to let y'all know. Get hEnjoy!! read more

Came here after sipping plenty of vino nearby. There was one party of 7-8 people next to us so it wasn't too busy. We ordered the ceviche to start with and it was amazing. Our main order for 3 people was lasagna, pizza and the burger. The pizza came out about 40 minutes after ordering and still no sight of the burger or lasagna. Pizza was mediocre at best, still no burger in sight. Nearing the 60 minutes, burger arrived along with lasagna. Lasagna was flavorful but cold, burger that was ordered medium well was still bloody and fries that came along were way undercooked. If you want good ceviche and want to wait over an hour for your food that is cold and undercooked you can come here. Needless to say I will not be back. read more

This restaurant was an unexpected surprise. Modern Mexican cuisine served under a spreading oak tree, along with a very nice local wine. We had Snapper with an almond crust and quinoa. Ceviche as a starter. Very tasty, delicate cuisine. Meal for two including a bottle of wine cost us about 50$. The inside of the restaurant is very cozy. Frederico, who is a biologist and conservationist, is the perfect host and he speaks very good English. read more

This is one of the best restaurants in the Valley, we visit every time we go, you can order anything in the menu and you won't be disappointed. Everything is fresh, and they take so much care creating exquisite dishes, the atmosphere is country charming, and the owner is always super attentive and helpful with suggestions. They serve local wine and artesanal beer, always delicious and you don't want to skip dessert and coffee, the perfect finale for a day un the beautiful Valley of Guadalupe read more

This place is amazing. Cesar was super friendly and helpful. I had the vegetarian plate. It looked too good to eat...was delicious. My husband had the pork plate with mango bbq sauce and mashed potatoes and veggies. Definitely recommend this spot. read more
