I recently visited Encanto in Ensenada and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. When the bill arrived, I noticed that one of my dishes was priced incorrectly. I politely pointed it out to our server, Daniel, expecting it to be corrected. Instead, he casually dismissed it and said, "It's only 100 pesos more," which I found unprofessional and disrespectful. It's not about the amount it's about accuracy and customer service. Because of this interaction, I decided to remove the $20 tip I had initially left. When I did, he took the receipt to his manager and claimed that I hadn't tipped at all. I explained the situation, but he responded with a smirk, which felt mocking and made the situation even more uncomfortable. Additionally, the service overall was slow. We asked for water multiple times before ordering, during the meal, and even after finishing and it still took a long time for it to arrive. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression, despite the setting. I hope management takes this kind of behavior seriously and works on improving both service quality and professionalism. read more

There's so much seating, so it feels open and relaxed even when it's busy. It's one of those places where you immediately want to grab your phone and take a few photos. First time trying this open air restaurant. It's been there 16 years and I can see why. Fabulous vibe with fantastic light jazz playing in the background. High ceilings and we sat on a comfortable padded bench seat. Can't say enough positive remarks about Jamal, our server. He was helpful with menu and wine selection. His soft spoken nature was refreshing. Attentive but not overly chatty. The menu is fairly expansive ( it was tough to choose) and the food was delicious. The poke appetizer was light but flavorful. The Farm salad was excellent too. Try the happy hour - many interesting choices but it ends at 5:00 pm. We parked in a pay lot around the corner. We can't wait to go back and try a few more items. Here's a sample of what we ordered with ratings of five being the highest. Seafood and steak mocajete: 5 full of meat, lobster, octopus, shrimp and yumminess! The sauces are deep and are thoroughly mixed in with all the meats. We didn't even need tortillas or to add anything to it. Diabla seafood mocajete 4. The comparison to the seafood and steak one, the sauce on this one seems to be lacking, besides the sauce, everything else was amazing with great flavor and texture. Lobster, steak and shrimp: 4.5 The lobster was a little undercooked but the flavor was just the bomb! The garlic shrimp was extremely on point and tender. The arrachera was favored just right but a lil dry this time. Clam chowder 4 The flavoring of the clam chowder was so good. There should probably be more clams and less bread. I would like to point out the restaurant does offer limited parking, I believe it's free since literally had a line to go in as it is limited and you have to wait until somebody leaves to be able to go in. It is also a compact parking space. However , for $200 pesos = $10 USd, you can park very quickly right across from it. Right next to it, sharing the parking is another restaurant as well. Which does make it crowded. The view is beautiful as per the pictures. I seems they are in the process of adding more stuff as well as there was some construction going on.
