Come for dinner, go upstairs, sit out on the patio and enjoy the sunset and your food. The service was great, the waitress was attentive and checked on us, made sure we have everything that we needed. The lobster was bit chewy, the fried squid was decent - had expected the calamari rings, but they fried the whole squid body and chopped it up before serving. The oysters were ok, the fried whole fish was decent as well, it could have used more seasoning. Started with a beer, then moved on to the Mojitos, which really hit the spot!! If you are in the area, definitely worth visiting - decent food, awesome views!
This was my second time here. Sat outside on the back patio each time. Service is always good and beer is always cold. Got the fish & enchiladas last night for dinner which was delicious - always comes with plenty of sides + tortillas so can definitely share most meals here. Chips & salsa as well when you sit down. Great atmosphere, lots of people having fun and a beautiful view. Even saw people get splashed from a big wave (they sat in the splash zone)! Much better than the overpriced tourtisty spot next door.... Splash, we will be back!
Best mango margaritas with Tajín rim! Always as beautiful as they are delicious. Service is consistently good with large portions. The spicy margarita made from scratch is really good, too. Great ocean views and comfortable ambiance. Service is efficient and friendly. Highly recommended over the other nearby choices. JMO
This place never ceases to amaze me. From the days of its simple big green box-looking restaurant, that sits comfortably on a cliff with ocean splashing on its window panes, to its now newly built extended areas. Looking forward to what's in store for us next. Splash is a must- see. And, whether indoor our outdoor seating, there will always be room for fresh air, an ocean view, waves breaking, and breath taking sunsets. Simply amazing. This restaurant, located on the outskirts of Rosarito, Mexico, has been my favorite place for all my seafood needs. Although not exactly a lobster fan, Splash definitely made sure friends, family and myself kept us coming back. It was a place to rave about. Before COVID "era," $20 lobsters was the thing. Prices were reasonable and honestly, one lobster was not enough. Last week (Tuesday), my partner and I decided to have early dinner at Splash. As always, friendly staff, good music, great outdoor view, and lots of new additional stuff was done to the restaurant since last visit this past summer. Overall, the atmosphere was on point...even without the live band playing. Our order was placed (forgot our servers name), we received our drinks and dish in no time. Our food arrived, all looked great but for some unknown reason, my mix ceviche lacked the usual taste. Besides it being tasteless, it was served on the skimpy side and enough shrimp. I had to squeeze more lemon and salt to add zest. I rarely like using salt, but in this case, it was much needed, unfortunately. The lobster, similar issue. Something was lacking. The garlic butter sauce was much needed but still, it did not have the usual taste. We asked the server about the cook. That maybe the cook was new. He confirmed - it's the same cook. The food was definitely off. Unexplainably off. Our server, by the way, was so attentive and friendly. No complaints here. Even past servers were all good. Dining experiences at Splash were always good. Despite our dismay with our food, we will still return to Splash. It will still be our go-to for any occasion, or, simply, just because. It was really fun watching the waves splash on the lower deck. Even though we were on the upper patio we still felt a bit of the mist on occasion and it was pretty fun. The live music was fantastic, a classic set of American music sung by a fabulously talented Mexican band. What we ordered: Lemonade - 4.5* very good and tasted really fresh. If you like lemonade (and lemons) you'll like this! It was almost a little too tart for me but my partner gave it 5* hands down! Mango mojito (no alcohol) - 3.5* very creamy. Doesn't have a very strong classic mojito flavor to it, I wouldn't have known it was a mojito variation otherwise. Passion fruit mojito (no alcohol) - 4* super good! Definitely could taste the mojito under the passion fruit. Loaded nachos - 4* this was bigger than our Mexican Combo. It was really good and we couldn't finish it as we were pretty full from our combo. I'd recommend sharing this with the table. Mexican combo - 5* about half our table ordered this and we were all satisfied. It easily satisfied both my partner and I (I wasn't that hungry to be with) and we honestly could've done without the nachos. The pepper had a nice kick to it. Oh, and the tortillas are amazing.
Beautiful location with views and quality service. Food was delicious, hot, and plentiful in size. Great place to come for a date night, family dinner, celebrations, etc. Nice areas to walk around also in nearby restaurants with traditional Mexican colorful decorations. This was one of the first places we tried in the area. Warm greeting by staff. Best thing here is the view. Lots of people outside on the deck taking pictures and enjoying the view. The food was ok. We tried the whole fish which my FIL said was ok, maybe needed more flavor and he wasn't sure what kind of fish it was. I had the enchiladas which were also middle of the road. The best thing we had was the clams casino.
When you get to Splash Restaurante in Rosarito, Baja Norte, Mexico, the entrance is unassuming. Know the expression, "Don't judge a book by its cover?" That certainly applies here! I wanted to meet the creator of a 4-course meal that astounded me! Lo and behold, chef Arturo Abarca came to our table. He's warm snd friendly. It's not often that a great chef makes himself/herself accessible like that. When I gave Arturo a detailed description of the explosion of flavors going on with every bite, he was touched. Just take a look at the pictures - where can you enjoy a 4-course gastronomic lunch and simultaneously be treated like royalty? All for a moderate price, too. Our experience was unparalleled with server Juan Carlos and that amazing ocean view. It doesn't get better than this.
My girlfriends and I got a wild hair up our butts and wanted to get out of town for the day, so we decided to hop across the border to be backyard tourists. We headed to Rosarito to enjoy some fresh seafood. Now this place is not visibly noticeable right off the main highway. There is a dirt parking lot in front that you pay $5 to an attendant and then walk towards the back to gain access to the entrance of the restaurant. I highly recommend sitting on the patio to enjoy the ocean breeze and view. If it's a little chilly the staff will provide you blankets. Drinks are strong and the food is amazing. Everything was fresh and seasoned well. Our waitress was such a sweetheart. Afterwards head down to the beach and enjoy a cocktail at sunset.

Lobster was cooked perfectly and was delicious! My waitress was super attentive and very sweet. Basically had the place to myself for a Wednesday lunch. My Labrador and I enjoyed the views and would definitely come back. read more

Seriously skip the other Tik Tok Tourist traps and come to Splash you won't be disappointed. From the beautiful views to the incredible food the vibe is laid back and the staff is amazing. Our waiter Max went above and beyond he made our experience memorable and incredible. The food honestly reminded me of how my mom used to cook especially the Chile Relleno. The portions are huge and the drinks are just the same. I recommend sitting outside and soaking in the ocean mist and I bet you'll find out why it's called splash. Overall it was a delicious meal and incredible experience. read more

My family is actually been coming to splash for almost 20 years, starting when it was in the original location down the street. Nick the owner is amazing and this place is like home to me. Go for breakfast and get the Shrimp Omlette and a Bloody Mary as you get you car washed! read more

My family and I love coming here for the lobster. Right now, lobster is about $40 for 1.3 pounds and a ton of sides. Not a bad deal at all considering the food is amazing. We always prefer to sit outside. The view is absolutely gorgeous. Take care sitting by the edge, you can get sprayed a bit. I personally like it though. The cocktails are lovely. Quite a few options and they make a very nice Margarita. Plenty of options for kids, which I'm grateful for since I have a picky eight year old. I was shocked when he downed a grilled cheese rather shockingly fast. He loved it. We used to hit the restaurants in Puerto Nuevo for lobster, but this is our new favorite spot. The food is better, and it's not as hit or miss as Puerto Nuevo. It's also much easier to find parking, and there's a security guard in the parking lot at all hours. There's also a hand car wash next to the parking lot. So if you'd like your car to be shining when you come back from dinner, that's pretty convenient. Overall, I recommend giving this place a try. It's a fun spot with great service, great food, and an exceptional view of the ocean just below the patio. read more

Splash was a blast! We were in town for New Year's Eve and spent our morning recovering at splash. The lobster is a must have and the Cadillac margaritas are delicious! The upstairs deck is super fun and when the waves are big enough they will splash ya! read more

A must visit for gringos as the food, service and view are outstanding. Straight up on the ocean with waves crashing on the rocks. You may get wet, its that close to the beach. Great live music on the weekend, especially Thursdays with Pachco Blues- Awesome blues/rock band. A must see. read more
Been wanting this for a while! If I could give this place 6 stars I would! I drove 35 minutes from San Diego to try this spot and it did not disappoint! You can not beat the view right on the ocean, so peaceful! We were greeted so good right when we came in the door! Service was great! We got 4 orders of lobster tails, shrimp Cocktail, aguchile, rice, beans and buttered shrimp! Everything tasted great and fresh! I'm coming here every time I come to Mexico! Trust me it's worth it! Their prices are a fraction of United States prices! ¡He estado queriendo esto por un tiempo! Si pudiera darle a este lugar 6 estrellas, ¡lo haría! Manejé 35 minutos desde San Diego para probar este lugar y no me decepcionó. No se puede superar la vista del océano, ¡tan tranquilo! The food is mostly good to very good,the service is excellent and for fun and ambience there is no other place like it and that includes Ensenada.It's a 20 minute drive on the toll road from Ensenada but worth the trip.The views from any of the decks are fabulous. Plenty of parking with very gracious attendants. read more

Wife & I had the Mexican Combo of cheese enchilada, Chille Rejino and beans and rice and it did not disappoint. Lots of cheese and very tasty. The enchilada sauce had a hint of a smokey flavor which I liked. Margaritta's were a bit on the tart size but the wine and the Mai Tai's tasted good but seemed a bit on the weak size, but I'm a professional so maybe it was just me. The service is top notch. They really take care of you and make you feel at home. This is our second visit Thurs 11/9/23 and there was an awesome band playing the Rolling Stones, The Doors, CCR and other great tunes. The view at sunset topped it off. I definitely recommend Splash and we will be back soon. read more

I've been to this place a few times while on vacation and each time it keeps getting better and bigger! When you arrive they offer valet parking. It's the easiest way since there is always a ton of people attending. We went on a Friday night so there was an amazing band playing and played the entire night. We ended up sitting on the patio to enjoy the sunset and hear the music. If you plan to eat outside, bring a long sleeve or a jacket with you. We ended up buying blankets from the vendors there, so come prepared! I ordered the Splash Mexican Combo. It was a little bit of everything. Chile, cheese enchilada, steak, beans and rice -- it always comes with a side of fresh hot flour tortillas. If you're torn on what to get, order this. The service is always fast and friendly. We waited about 10mins for our food, which was incredible since we came with 17 people. I will definitely come back. read more
Splash is a gem. Friday night live music, excellent customer service and food, gorgeous outdoor seating and view of the ocean... and AMAZING lobster bisque. Our waiter served the lobster bisque with a spoonful of white wine, and holy mother of pearls. If the border wasn't such a hassle, I'd drive out here just for that. Thick and creamy, loads of flavor from salty to sweet, fresh pieces of lobster, and don't even get me started on the croissant. The dinner menu is better than the breakfast menu but it's still good and enjoyable. The tortilla is delicious, as well as the garlic butter seabass. My brother ordered the seafood platter and said the meat is tender and especially enjoyed the octopus. read more
