This is a very beautiful spot. The wait was not long at all because everyone was was trying to get into the restaurant next door. We wanted a table with a view and since we were a group of 10 it took about 20 minutes. Everything came out fairly quick. The waiter was nice and attentive. All the food was yummy. The only thing negative i had to say is it took the water/drinks a little while to come out. It came out with the food so don't go thirsty. Lol and my friends bday shot and slice of cheese cake were not free. I'm used to this being free in the US but obviously i wasn't in the US so this is something to note for next time. First and foremost the establishment is CASH ONLY. I did not see that disclosure online and even messaged to make a reservation via what's app and they never disclosed that. I had some cash but no where near enough to dine here. Had to grab cash from a nearby ATM about 7 mins out. Beautiful beautiful beautiful place. A place like no other. Very unique place. Out of this world beauty. The food, the set up, the restaurant itself is TERRIBLE. The food is below average at best. You're at a beautiful place and they use plastic plates, cheap napkins, water bottles from Costco (I love Costco water but plastic water bottles really?). Sauces for our shrimp were premade in to go plastic containers that were probably made in the morning. The cheese for the queso fundido was disgusting. Drinks were decent! Tortillas were ok. Red table salsa tasted like ketchup. If you come here just please do not have any expectations for great food. Come here for the views, maybe some starters, and some drinks. And this may allow you to view the other restaurants near by as well. I was here on a Tuesday, wasn't busy at all, and service wasn't prompt. But there was plenty of staff. Came here on our very first day of our trip with the family and two dogs because it said it was dog friendly. However didn't really feel that way. Normally they engage with the pups and offer them water or something when we are seated, but that wasn't the case. Luckily we had a dog bowl and asked the waiter when he came for water and they brought a bottle of it..not free...which is fine but I would have just brought one from the car. The views are amazing! We sat right by the water. Breeze was great, live music. Can't beat that. We ordered puerto Nuevo style lobster, the seafood in the molcajete, fajitas, stuffed shrimp, shrimp diablo, and queso fundido with asada. Everything was delicious! However the two of us that tasted the shrimp Diablo got sick...sadly we battled montezumas revenge for the entire vacation as a result. Otherwise everything was delicious. That molcajete was so good! Husband ordered lobster $47 which came with rice and beans. Lobster was tiny. Were used to puerto Nuevo sizes so he was a bit let down with that. Tasted good though I ordered rib eye steak. Great size! Came with baked potato and sautéed veggies. Asked for medium well. Still had some pink. Veggies were cooked to perfection though Ok so what really bothered me was the dog "Hunter" they allow to roam free. This dog wanders freely throughout the entire restaurant. He kept licking me and my husbands legs. I like dogs But not around my food. We kept trying to push the dog away but it was adamant about licking us. My husband eventually got upset and ended up walking to the restroom to wash off his legs and hands. I hand to call hostess to remove the dog from our area. That dog also seen humping people. 1st time visiting this place, my dish was absolutely delicious. However, it wasn't warm or hot, so it made the experience not so great. I recommend the Cilantro cream shrimp. The sauce is so creamy, shrimp was nicely done, not overcooked, the mashed taters were meh, they lacked salt, the veggies were steamed Broccoli and carrots. The freshly made flour tortillas were excellent, but who doesn't make those perfect over here? I definitely wouldn't order mixed drinks here, their version of a vodka tonic was more like a lemonade, I wasn't a fan at all, and since the alcohol content is lower I felt it was a waste of $. My husband ordered a molcajete filled with seafood. He said this was definitely the best dish there. It included octopus, shrimp, calamari, and others. My two friends ate steak, and they said that wasn't their specialty. We had rice and beans as small sides, and I would say those were bland. The views here are spectacular, though. Be warned thought if you sit on the ledge, the tides can hit your food and wet you and your whole table. read more

This is the most beautiful restaurant I've ever ate at. It has picturesque views, if you sit outside, and majority of the drinks we tried were good. We did not get any food. But the complimentary chips and salsas were delicious. They have throw on blankets for the guests, as it can get cold outside. Would definitely recommend. The service was good too considering they were busy. And I appreciated they let us use credit card even though it seems it was a cash only place. Encanto was gorgeous!! Literally when you envision the beauty Mexico and Rosarito have to offer, this restaurant sums it up. We came on a Friday night and hour and a half before closing and even though the weather was a little bit chilly, we decided to sit outside right by the water fountain with a clear view of the ocean. We had some non-spanish speakers in the group and the waiter was very kind and accommodating when helping them order. For an appetizer we ordered the calamari which tasted very fresh and had a good seasoning to it. I also tried the shrimp cocktail and for the price it was really good and packed full with shrimp. If you do come to Encanto i'd recommended coming on the weekend during sunset so you get to experience the restaurant during the day and night as well as enjoy the live music they have during dinner. read more

Visited this restaurant again. They've added a second level and are still expanding. The design and architecture is open air, vaulted ceilings, rustic brick and wood. They had it decked out in marigolds and Día De Los Muertos decor, which was very fun and festive. Service was average and definitely on the slow side, but expected. Especially with how large the place is and being upstairs. The food was good. We had queso fundido, molcajete with chicken and shrimp, which came with beans and rice--and they were flavorful which is improvement!, fried shrimp platter with veggies and rice, a piña colada and cubano mojito. Total was $100 USD. I figure this would cost about $80 in my hometown, so it definitely feels overpriced for Mexico. Lastly, the parking situation is awful. The classic custom price to park was quoted at "300 pesos" roughly $15, but when we parked and got out, and attendant told us "200 pesos" and when I asked to convert to USD he had no idea so I gave him $8 and that was that. If you can't park directly in their tiny lot, there are additional paid lots across the way or down the road. But I don't know if I'd do that for safety of my car and person. All in all I don't know if I'll come back again for the above reasons, but it was a nice night out. read more

Honestly people are driven by word of mouth, but this place has poor service and the food is not even worth trying. We ordered a whole fish with shrimp and octopus, fish was dry due to it being cooked prior to ordering and the octopus was hard to chew. Literally EVERYTHING was perfect with our experience at Encanto! The food was so fresh and authentic. The service was excellent and friendly, and the atmosphere is gorgeous! Set up on a cliff with the waves crashing below, incredible views. Decorated so beautifully, would be such a great location for a wedding or huge party! Each room is a little bit different too. Inside or outside seating. Highly recommend! We had the fresh corn and flour tortillas, refried beans, rice, rojo chilaquiles, lobster, ceviche and carne asada. Cannot pick a favorite, as everything was delicious! There are so many places to take photographs, many places to just sit and relax before or after your meal, and just walk around and explore. Prior to coming here I read the reviews and one of the things that stood out for me is the quality of the food. We stopped on the way back to the states and it was a great suggestion. After a good trip from Valle De Guadalupe, we were told to stop here for some delicious food and views. The place was gorgeous because it used to be an old mission. We sat outside and were greeted by a cool breeze that honestly got a little wild. Apparently it's a thing because the restaurant offers Sarapes to keep the clients warm. The drinks and and food were perfectly seasoned and delicious. I only wish I could have tried more options. The view is amazing, the food is good, but the service from the front staff is awful with lack of introduction, lack of making you aware what tables are available. This place has many viewpoints, front staff should be asking what area do you prefer and let you know availability. They should also ask you if it's your first time, so that they can provide you a tour if the large restaurant so you can decide which area you'd prefer and determine for yourself if you'll wait for a table or take any available. For such a nice place, they need to train their staff in customer service. Also they only take cash, in this day and age that's to evade taxes in Mexico. read more

I would avoid this place if you're not looking to spend a ton of money on mediocre food. It's a beautiful restaurant and very picture worthy, but lacked in so many areas. The out waiter barely checked on us after our food came, we have to track him down to order more drinks and pay our bill. Oh, also, the tip is automatically added! We were not happy about that AT ALL. We don't think our service deserved the tip that was added. The appetizers looked like something from Jack in the Box. Our sons fettuccine Alfredo sauce was so think he kept chocking (he's 2) & the shrimp was too rubbery for him to eat.
