New name since our last visit several years ago, so possibly new ownership. This is primarily a steakhouse, but they do have other traditional menu items (see menu pic). We stopped in on a Thursday evening and were the only customers in their "waterfall wall" room, and only two other tables were occupied in the main dining room. Service was okay, friendly/cordial, but not overly personable. The restaurant is located right off the main road...look for the giant bull and stagecoach. DRINKS: We'd been drinking wine all day, so we switched it up and tried a couple of the Sweet Habanero ($15) cocktails, made with mezcal, raspberries, and a touch of habanero...delicious. We also ordered an Agua Horchata ($60 Pesos/$3.50 USD). They have a full bar, and a decent wine list made up of selections from local Valle de Guadalupe wineries. FOOD: We ordered two of the Rib Eye Steaks 400g ($640 Pesos/$38 USD), served with a cup of tortilla soup and a side salad. The steaks were well seasoned, but not the best cuts of meat (they both had quite a bit of fat/gristle). We've always had good steaks here in the past, so maybe this was an anomaly. We did mention it to our waiter, but we were pretty much through most of the steak. The soup and salad were very good. My mother-in-law had Chicken Enchiladas ($250 Pesos/$14.50 USD), served with rice and beans, and they were very tasty. To make up for the steaks, our waiter brought us a slice of their Flan Cake, which was delicious. All in all, a nice place in the center of town, with good food at reasonable prices. Will definitely give them another try.

This the bar area of the restaurant.

The food is really good here, the carne asada has a very good flavor to it. Hand made flour tortillas at this restaurant. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the portions are well balanced. The service was really good also, from the moment we stepped in the waiters were very attentive towards us. The ambiance is quiet and relaxing, very nice for a date or dinner with family. The light in the restaurant is set low and it feels very cozy. Definitely give this restaurant a try.

The outdoor dining area. Beautiful ambiance.

Beautiful restaurant and hotel that we stopped at for some lunch. The food was great, though the Rib Eye was a little tough. Service was great. Location great. Cozy place to stop, eat, and get out of the heat.

Great lunch spot! My wife and our two kids were looking for a not too fancy place to stop and eat but we also didn't feel like street tacos at the moment - we've had a ton of those on this trip! Our kids got burgers, which they loved, my wife got pescado a la Veracruzana. And I got the carné asada along with some aguachile de camarón. The asada was cooked to perfection. It came with tasty sides and a burnt sugar lemon. The service was nice. The covered outdoor setting along with the trickling waterfall wall created a very relaxing ambiance.

The food is great way better than casa Frida, the ribeye cook how we ask, the pollo asado with chipotle sauce good the honey salmon my wife love it, and what can I say about the happy hour 3-6 pm the drinks are great flavorful, service is great they are in top of it, since the time you come in thru the door, and the ambience next to the waterfall is so calm and relaxed makes you drink more and not leave, and price is reasonable not like other places that they just charge for the name.

This place has a nice cool vibe. Everything is made out of wood. There is a wood burning grill going on inside the restaurant which gives the place a very nice cozy feeling with some beautiful smells of burning wood filling the whole restaurant with a nice warm feel. They have a full bar with anything you want but the wine selection is not great. I would recommend bringing your own bottle of wine. The good wine is $75. He first said that it was $45. Then he increased the price to $65 until finally saying that it's a $75 bottle of wine. The wine is about a $25 bottle of wine that he increased the price 200 hundred percent to try to sell it to me because I probably look like a kind of guy that can afford it. I was majorly turned off by this attempt and therefore, instead of giving this restaurant five stars, I have decided to give it four stars. The tomahawk steak was very good and cooked on a wood-burning grill.

It was Tuesday evening about 6 pm and it was surprisingly VERY difficult to find a place to dine in beautiful Valle de Guadalupe. Finally, we remembered this cool facade of one of the restaurants near our Airbnb, Valle 13. A cast Iron Bull sculpture sits out front greeting the guests and the exterior is also adorned with really provocative design element of wood and steel. Just a really cool look. Curb appeal that says, " If I look this good on the outside, imagine how good my food is." Well, one would think that...I wish that was the case. First of all we go inside and are immediately told they are open but the electricity is out. But a steakhouse doesn't need electricity to cook a steak, and exhausted from searching for a sit down meal, we decide to throw caution to the wind and give it a go. The interior, again decorated in a very avant garde manner. The walls are composed of sticks from floor to ceiling with enough space between the sticks for light to get through. It looked as though there is a water feature that is built into the far wall, but because of the electrical issue, was out of order. Still, a very charming ambiance. I can just imagine the ambiance with candles. So romantic. But enough of the design motif, let's get to the food. The menu is pretty straightforward, steaks and seafood make up a majority of options. I order a ribeye from our trio of servers who were assigned to our table, the only table in the joint. Very accommodating and helpful. I just wish the food measured up. I ordered a rib eye medium and it came out beyond overcooked. The meat was grey and looked as if it had been hovering over the surface of the sun for week. My boo ordered a filet medium also overcooked, but not as bad. The only entree that really delivered was the sauteed shrimp. The mushroom side was ok but way to much cheese. The starter salads were basic and boring. The salsa, watery and thin and lackluster. The lentil soup wasn't bad. Chips, meh. The guacamole. Meh. Are we in Mexico or North Dakota? You got to get the chips, salsa, and guacamole right. I really hoped this would have been a noteworthy meal in a good way, instead it left us disappointed. The stars of the show were the ambiance and service, but, sadly that was not enough to redeem this trendy bistro. This would have been a two star review had they not taken my steak off the bill. Goes to show you can't judge a book by it's cover. That was the case with this beautiful dud.

The tamarindo and jamica mezcal drink delicious!!

Amazing food and service!! We are such foodies we couldn't be more satisfied!! You visit certain restaurants and usual 1 thing checks off your list. But for us it checked out all. The pictures speak for them self.

Place is really nice with great decoration. Breakfast was simply bland and pricy. I ordered the vegetable omelet and it had no taste. The coffee was cold and of minimal flavor. Their borrego machaca breakfast place was the only thing worthwhile. Service was off. We had to ask for salsa amongst other things. If they tighten up the kitchen and staff it can be a 5.

Just a heads up: the seating is one long communal table. If you're picturing a quiet little two top date night, this isn't that. It's more of a "we're all in this together" setup, which actually ended up being pretty fun. We went for the full tasting menu with the beverage pairing, and it was absolutely worth it. The tasting menu consisted of 14 courses. They served things I never would've ordered on my own, and that ended up being the best part. The oyster and clam dishes were incredible, and the scallops were another standout. The drink pairing was surprisingly great too, way more adventurous than what I would've picked off a menu, and I ended up loving a couple of the wines I'd skipped during our earlier tasting at Bruma. Service was on point from start to finish, and the whole experience just felt special. If you're in Valle de Guadalupe, make time for Fauna. It's absolutely a must visit.

We've been to this area several times and usually just randomly pick somewhere to eat. It was early in the day and this restaurant seemed to be one of the few places open so we went in to give them a try. There is parking right out front but it was the middle of January so it might be harder to find parking during warmer times of the year, but even still, there is plenty of street parking. The inside is small and quaint with comfortable seating. We were the only ones in the restaurant and they sat us right away and brought us drinks along with chips and salsa. The chips were amazing, but I was expecting them to be this far down across the border. The menu has quite a few options but I chose the Chile Relleno and my friend had the Chicken Enchiladas. Again, the restaurant was basically empty so it was nice and quiet but I get the impression it's never too busy to be very noisy. It was nice and comfortable. Initially I just thought it would be like restaurant back in the states; place your order and within minutes someone would bring it out. But we actually waited a considerable amount of time before our meals were brought out. Not too long, but again, just longer than I would have expected. The kitchen is open to the whole restaurant so you can see them cooking and after awhile, it was clear why the food was taking longer than you might expect. Unlike restaurants back in the states where most of this food is pre-prepared and just sitting in pans keeping warm, they made EVERYTHING fresh to order! Nothing was warmed up or ladled up from a pan of already made food. They made it all fresh! When the food came out, it looked like food from a magazine or menu. The type of food you only see in pictures. The food you see that usually looks so perfect but never actually get it served. Well, this food looked that perfect! It was hot and fresh and you can't go wrong with that combination. I'm a big believer in the quality of the refried beans being the standard for any Mexican restaurant. If the beans are good, generally speaking, the rest of the food is going to be good as well. These refried beans were AMAZING! Without a doubt, the next time I'm in the area, I am stopping here just to have a bowl of their refried beans with the chips! If I could sit there with the beans and chips and watch the Super Bowl, I'd be in Nirvana! My plate came with two, very large, chiles; normally I would expect only one. And the batter they were covered in was just perfect. Nice and light but with great flavor. The chiles were fresh and tasty; but I have to admit, I don't know what was in them. I'm used to the chile stuffed with cheese, but I'm not sure what was in this. It wasn't bad tasting but sure didn't seem like cheese. Regardless, I highly recommend it. My friends chicken enchiladas were amazing! So many restaurants down in Baja are fantastic but this was exceptional and I can't say enough good things about it. If you are planning a trip down to the wineries, stop here before or after your wine tasting. You won't be sorry! Great service and amazing food!
