1/2 eaten charcuterie platter. Sorry I was so hungry
    Avelino C.

I had a charcuterie board which was very good and only $12.00. The wine selection is great. The place is big and roomy and outdoorsy. The service is great also. Stop by while touring the wineries. You will like it here.

Amazing atmosphere and service. We tried the garlic mushrooms, ahi tuna, and two versions or the oysters. Surprised not many reviews have been posted. Highly recommend. They have an assorted of region craft beers. Come by. You won't be disappointed. P.S. They didn't pay me for this.

A very neat place to stop into while in the Valle. It is not a winery, but they carry hundreds of wines from the valle de guadalupe. they offer flights in 3, 4 or 5 tasters which is nice. And the tasters are a very good size! I've had the same lady wait on us both visits & she is very attentive & descriptive with the wines. We told her our individual likes & dislikes before starting & she did great at meeting our needs (Or wants, I should say). We also had some food here which was all very good. Mole chicken, Cheese Sopes (had LOTS of cheese on them, so good) and even a pizza! They also have a full bar for cocktails & many craft beers. During peak season they offer an outstanding Sunday brunch with what seems like a million items to select from. Very impressive. You can sit either indoors or outdoors. They have patio heaters near the dining areas, but if you sit at the bar the cold wind will get you. This Bodega is HUGE. Plenty of space for lots of people. Bar area upon entrance is large with lots of seating. Dining area spills over into a courtyards as well, multiple bathroom stalls that are very clean & even a Banquet room. They have a private parking lot as well. **Note: Google & yelp have their opening time as 8am, but they do not open until 1pm**

We asked for a wine tasting, but I am pretty certain they didn't give us the whole tasting - the guy just disappeared after awhile, and that was that. We ordered a few dishes to share for dinner, one was a jalapeno pasta that seemed interesting, but the pasta was completely overcooked to almost mush and the sauce was basically congealing onto that, making it quite unappetizing. We also ordered a hawaiian pizza that sounded nice, but it came with so many raisins and mushrooms, which just made it so confusing, as we expected just ham and pineapple - the combo was not delicious. The cheese plate basically had all the same cheese spread around the plate. The ceviche was actually fine, with tiny bits of ahi tuna. If you had to eat here, get the ceviche, but otherwise, I don't think you'd be missing much not eating anything here. The wines were actually not that great either - too acidic, didn't have much finesse. I don't know. I think the service in addition to the food in addition to the wine were all so lackluster and disappointing. We really wanted to like it here, but couldn't find much to like.

We tried Sauvignon Blanc, Rose, Nativo red blend (cab merlot blend), and our favorite, the Principio (also a cab/merlot blend), but barrel aged longer). The wines were well made, very light-bodied, low alcohol, high acidity, and a higher salinity that you get from some Valle wines. Overall, they weren't to our taste, but we enjoyed our visit. They have a restaurant, too if you want to stop in for lunch or dinner.

We were greeted immediately and offered indoor or outdoor seating. We opted to eat outdoors. A tiny regret as smoking is allowed and people were smoking. But they soon left so not too much of a bother. We started by ordering drinks - they have a full bar. My husband ordered a double tequila & I ordered a Paloma. Not too strong or too weak, just perfectly prepared. My husband ordered the Chamuyo Shrimp U10, and I ordered the Rib Eye Center Cut Steak- medium well. Both came with a side of the criolla salad. The food, ambiance, and service was great. There was also about 30 minutes of live music by a duo performing son jarocho. Not sure if that's the proper phrasing but it was a nice treat. I'm not sure if they are regular performers or they just happened to be there that day. Overall a great dining experience to celebrate our 10 year anniversary.

We returned to Baron Balche for their wine tasting this past week and decided to stop here again for their food however our experience at Tahal this time was not nearly as memorable as 5 years ago. We were here on a slow Monday afternoon. There was only 1 other party there having a late lunch. We were seated and attended to relatively promptly initially however the service worsened after that. We ordered Aguachile de camarón to share first which she got to us quickly. We then ordered a couple glasses of wine, water, a Marguerita Pizza, and a Flan de elote all together. The waitress told us that we needed to remind her about the Flan because she would forget. We never got our glasses of wine. We had a normal wait time for the pizza and then had to remind her after 20 minutes for her to grab water for us. She remembered to bring the Flan de elote after it looked like we were done eating our aguachile and pizza. The aguachile was great. I'd come back just for this and I normally do not like eating shrimp at all. The pizza was OK. Not the greatest but not bad. The flan de elote was great as well and actually did taste like corn. At the end of the visit she asked if we ever got our wine and we told her no but it was too late as we were done eating. When we were about to pay the check they also forgot to remove the glasses of wine from our bill and we had to remind them to take it off. Overall the food was good but service was not.

Our server was very helpful and attentive.. He walked us through the menu, explained how different dishes were prepared, pointed out popular items, and also gave us great drink recommendations. Everything we ordered was very tasty and definitely lived up to the hype. We came on a Sunday night, so it wasn't too busy. We were seated quickly, and the food came out fast, which was a nice bonus.
