It's a beautiful restaurant where the views are spectacular! We've been here for brunch and it's really good! For dinner, I came with most of my family. We were a a party of 12. My husband ordered a steak plate (Arrachera USDA angus- medium rare), my kids both ordered pasta and I ordered a sword fish ( Pez espada). My sister ordered lobster enchiladas, my brother in law ordered an octopus plate (Pulpo asado), my mom ordered the catch of the day fish and my dad ordered a shrimp pasta. Service was good and attentive. The food was ok. The presentation was beautiful but the taste was not there. My sword fish was very dry. My husband didn't really like his steak. My sister didn't like her enchiladas, my brother in law didn't like his octopus. Both my parents and my kids liked their meals. The views are stunning. It's worth getting a drink and some appetizers to chill and have a romantic evening here. I would come back for the brunch menu, that was really good but as far as the dinner goes, I wouldn't come back for that. read more

It's so hard to beat the beautiful ocean views at El Restaurante. I took a weekend cruise and when the boat stopped in Ensanada, this was a restaurant that came highly recommended. I took an Uber there from the cruise port (which was only a few bucks and a ten minute ride). The food here was delicious and the manager and wait staff were really kind. I had the clam chowder soup as well as the octopus ceviche on a bed of nachos. The star of the show was definitely the fresh seafood and flavors. The portion came with a lot of octopus and protein! I had an espresso for a drink. They added a little bit of steamed milk to it which was a nice touch. Everything was tasty and fresh, but more so are the views of the pacific and the rocks and waves. My friend and I drove here from Los Angeles after hearing good things from a few locals in Ensenada. We came for the views and menu and left very satisfied. The restaurant is a part of El Punto Morro Hotel off the coast of Ensenada and offers stunning views of the rocky coast. The waiter we had was knowledgable and (most staff spoke English) gave us great recommendations off the menu when we asked. My friend and I both ordered seafood, a salad, mixed drink and desert and after a generous tip it was still less than $30 USD. I highly recommend this place to anyone in Ensenada for a cruise and stopping off or just someone driving through the region! If you end up staying at the hotel and are driving down they also offer a fast pass to drive back across the border. (We unfortunately couldn't get one just dining in) read more

Restaurant was upscale. Food was 8/10 - flavourful and interestingly presented, although a little on the smaller size portion wise. However - take a pass on the desserts. We had the carrot cake and pumpkin cheesecake- and both seemed like they were sitting in a display case for days. Carrot cake was doughy. Cheesecake was the rubbery consistency of a hard boiled egg. Our meal was great - up until the desserts. This also isn't a Michelin restaurant: there are many components missing - like water on the table, sweeping crumbs between courses - many standard things you would expect at any restaurant, let alone a Michelin starred one. "El Restaurante" offers to their costumers a very cozy ambiance with spectacular views to the Pacific Ocean where you can see how the waves crashes into the rocks that are near the restaurant. This is an ideal place to come for a romantic dinner, large group or family. Their installations are spotless, the menu ranges from seafood, poultry and cuts of meat and have a wide selection of wines from the area. We have arrived just in time to enjoy the golden hour and see a beautiful sunset. The waiter told us that they offered brunch every weekend from 9:00 to 12:00 and it's crowded regularly so you have to wait if you get here after 10:30 am. The food was good but the service could have been better. Although the hostess was very nice. It seemed that the server was in a hurry to get our order in and was not remotely kind until I spoke to him in English. They should realize that while tourist are great. We locals live here and if you treat us with the same respect we will be back more often than not. I will come back but will make sure not to get that male server. read more

Simply amazing! In spite of the vegetables being the side they were the best I have ever had. I would have been content to have enjoyed them alone. The risotto was also very delicious and cooked to perfection. Already looking forward to my next visit. Very, very well done! read more

What an exceptional restaurant. The food is just amazing as well as appetizing. I love the waiters because they are just so kind, always going above and beyond. We have been here a total of 7 times! The food is just incredible, nothing tasted bad at all! The best food items are the following: salmon torreta, fish strip ceviche, flank steak, ravioli with mushroom and spinach, Alaskan salmon, the carne asada tacos with cheese, and finally the dark chocolate coulant ( we ordered three because one is just not enough). We went here for dinner a few nights ago. We didn't have a reservation but they sat us right away at a fantastic table next to the window. The service was spot on and the food was good. We had two orders of the steamed clams to start. I had the quail for my entree. The flavor was there but my quail was overcooked and a bit dry. The sides in my dish were cooked exactly to my liking. Husband's meal was cooked to perfection. He had the steak. We were too full to have any dessert, but the few we saw go by looked delish! Would definitely go back again next time we are back in Ensenada. read more

If you are willing to head out of downtown Ensanada this place is good for a date with the best view of any restaurant that I have been to yet. Dressy environment with good food and a fantastic atmosphere. read more

Amazing views, amazing service! This is an upscale restaurant with very reasonable prices. Drinks are strong and delicious! You can walk to the water through a stairway next to the restaurant. Worst place I've eaten at ever. We felt very discriminated. My boyfriend had to leave to the house and back to get semi-formal dressed when most of the lighter skinned Americans were in sandals and casual clothing. At first, while waiting for my boyfriend to get back from the house to change, my son and I were seated at a pretty decent spot. 10 minutes later, my 6 year old son and I were moved to a smaller table with a very dirty window where we could not see any of the waves. Finally, when my boyfriend got there, the manager(I assume) told him that he wanted to seat us at the best spot. Which obviously was a lie. 15minutes later, we finally got our orders in but had to wait a good 30minutes for the appetizers and then, an additional 45minites for our entree. My son did not like his linguine alfredo so we returned it and got him plain chicken nuggets ( these were the dinosaur frozen ones) very low quality. Our drinks did not have any alcohol. We are foodie lovers. This by far, in our whole week stay in ensenada was the most expensive and worst spot ever. On top of that, they charged us for the linguine alfredo my son didn't like( we tasted it and it was so gross) and the manager had the audacity to say that they tasted it and it was good that's why they charged us. We just wasted our last dinner and 3hours of our last night here. Dont bother coming. Great view but absolutely not worth it. I give it a negative 10 star. I never write any reviews negative but I just had to this time. This was the only place in ensenada where the employees were not friendly at all. read more

The Sunday brunch at this hotel/restaurant is my absolute favorite when I'm in the area. They have made to order omelettes. My favorite are the quesadillas filled with melted Oaxaca cheese and any other topping you like- mushrooms or perhaps flor de calabaza, etc. on fresh, handmade corn tortillas. Then there are other scrumptious dishes such as cochinita pibil, pozole, chicken with mole, red and green chilaquiles...the variety is quite a spread. I cannot forget their dessert table. They have freshly baked pan dulce that pairs perfectly with a hot coffee as you look out to the great Pacific. I don't do buffets here in the States, ever! Too many bad experiences from poor quality and taste of food, to lack of proper hygiene from those handling and replenishing food. These guys running this place don't mess around. They know that in order to keep their clientele, they'll need to provide top quality food and service, and they do just that every time. We're going back to Ensenada soon. No doubt this will be one of our stops. read more

Amazing view, service not so much. Went there for dinner, 75% of the restaurant was empty and had reserved signs on the tables. Wanted to sit by the window, was told I can't because they closed the area during dinner time in order to wash the floors. Very disappointed, never going back. read more
