Amazing bottle of cava that was just $30 -- they kept it super cold because we requested an ice bucket. Victor, who is part bartender part server in " actually, we're actually in a double oh my God words or are you kidding me that's thirty five. Oh Victor was the BEST "general garçon" outstanding and personable and very knowledgeable. Our exceptional server Dawn took time to understand what we were looking for. She was great. And camera shy. You're in Seattle so you need to eat great seafood. We had a fantastic experience here and this is not a tourist hang. You've got to seek this one out and it's well worth the effort. There are no reservations, which is a drag, and they didn't seem all that familiar with the Yelp waitlist even though, by gosh, it's right on the website and I was signed up on it. But I digress. The oysters are terrific. Get the Shucker's Dozen for a sampling of six different types (you get two of each). It's pricey, though. The oyster dip, served with kettle chips, may just be the best oyster dip ever, as in, in the history of oyster dips. It's filled with big chunky oysters and it's delicious. The fish and chips is excellent. The French fries are clearly housemade and the fish and the batter were both delicious. The crab roll was more roll than crab and that's a real criticism. The roll was nice but I'm paying (a lot) for the crab. I would not get that dish again. It comes with those same excellent fries. The cocktails AND the mocktails are top notch. They also have an excellent wine list. We saw a few kids here. The place is absolutely NOT anti-kids but there isn't a lot on the menu which is kid-friendly other than the fish and chips. This place was good. We had 8 people. We came to this location because Yelp pictures seemed to indicate they had an outdoor water view which was they did not have. Our server was very attentive. I had the Dungeness crab with the dipping sauce it was all cold, it was good but wouldn't order again I like my crab hot. Several people had huge salads, and the smoked dip was delicious. Came here for my friend and my birthday. We were greeted by Dawn at the bar. She was very helpful and kept checking in on us often. We ended up eating shuckers dozen, 2 orders of geoduck sashimi, and Dungeness crab. It was all so delicious and when Dawn had to work in the main area, Paul helped us at the bar. Who knew that I would rave about bread and butter but it was the best bread I've had in a very long time. We ordered two dozen oysters. Fruit fly infestation and terrible service. Will never go back. I've been to other Taylor locations and been so impressed, seeking out another was a no-brainer. Sat at the bar. Fruit fly infestation should have been a red flag. Staff with a hand held bug zapper swatting at infestation should have been a massive red flag. It got worse from there. 18.9% gratuity automatically applied. This is clearly a location taking advantage of the stadium crowd. Lesson, DO NOT visit any bar or restaurant that has normalized fruit flys to the point they are bug zapping behind the bar. Taylor is good. Visit another location!! read more

Hello, it's me. I'm back again for another round of oysters, wine, clams, shrimp, and this time geo duck. No, geo duck is not the same as a horse neck clam (*disclaimer I have a degree from Google) . This time, I had first-timers with me. They tried the oysters and loved em, the geo duck was a hit, the clams we were delicious, and the bottle of rose was awesome. We made it at happy hour, so we kept those happy hour menu items coming. I absolutely love this place, and I don't use those words often when it comes to restaurants. Our waitress was phonemenal. Went here for my oyster craving. Very pleased with the raw oysters specifically the Pacifica and Virginica. I got one of each oyster they offered then got the baked oysters and baguette. I didn't like the baked oysters very much. The cheese was too hard. I'm used to getting char grilled or char broiled oysters in Louisiana and the cheese and butter sauce is still creamy and the oysters are cooked more. I wouldn't get that again but I'd come back for the other oysters. The baguette was good and way too big for just me. And I also got the ginger peach house shrub which I liked. I was referred here by a Pike Place cart driver named Ronnie. He insisted they had the best oysters in the area and suggested the pacific ones. So I obliged him. I came in on a Saturday afternoon. It was about 10 customers in. I was greeted by a waitress with an Olympia oyster tattoo. What a marketing genius. I ordered one Olympia, one Pacific & one Sunseeker oyster. The sunseeker has always been my favorite but the other two were delicious. HOWEVER, That dungeoness crab roll was AMAZING. That mixture of the crab, pickled onion & celery root was so damn good on the brioche roll. The fries were salted to perfection & I normally hate tartare sauce but if they bottled theirs, I'd buy it. The only thing I didn't care for was the chowder. It was seasoned well, but not as thick & creamy as I like it. The service was great but I took 1/3 star for the time it took to get my food, another 1/3 star because there are homeless people camped outside of the restaurant which made the entry uncomfortable. The last 1/3 is for the chowder. However I would 100% come back here. read more

Went for Dinner Food - 5/5. Geoduck had two different textures for the body and the siphon. Siphon was harder with a chew that resembled cartilage and the body had a smoother texture reminiscent of clam. Both parts were mild and tasted similar to other bivalve sashimi. The dungeness crab was phenomenal. Meat was bouncy, having just the right amount of firmness and the flavor had the subtle sweetness characteristic of dungeness crab. What really distinguished this dish was the sauce, which was a cream base using the crab fat as the main flavor. It was rich from the crab fat, with just the right amount of acid for balance, and a perfect nappe consistency. The strong sauce was an excellent pairing with the delicate crab meat, and everything else for that matter. It was such a delicious sauce that I wished they would've provided some bread or pasta to soak it all up. Coleslaw was OK, not having enough flavor from the dressing to cover the harsh tastes of raw cabbage. Service - 4/5. Friendly and professional service. Value - 5/5. I was bracing myself for what the market price would be for the crab, but it came out to be a reasonable $62. While expensive, it felt like a fair price compared to the price of dungeness crab dishes in general. Geoduck was fun to try at least once, and was priced at a reasonable $16 in sashimi format. Disclaimer: this is a vegan who ate corn ribs & house pickles reviewing an oyster bar. So take this with a grain of salt. Thanks! We came here for our last dinner while in the Seattle area. The menu was pretty vast in terms of its Oyster and Clam offerings. We had a couple orders of fish & chips, oysters and clams, and the corn ribs. Service was OK. Maybe because there was only an hour left before closing? We were short on water and table settings and had to request for more. It could also be that we were a party of 8 so working for that tip wasn't necessary. I had the house pickles and the corn ribs, the only two vegan options on the menu. The pickles were really good, but I wish the serving size was bigger. They were crisp and tart. Probably would have paired well with the oysters. Although the server claimed that some vegans actually eat oysters, I say - those people who eat oysters aren't actually vegan (which is fine) but I didn't really like the expectation that it could be possible that a vegan would eat oysters. You're either vegan and eat 0 animals & animal biproducts or you are pescatarian bc you enjoy eating seafood. Please don't tell me vegans eat oysters and clams from time to time... I digress!! The corn ribs were a neat idea but definitely not worth the $14 at all. That was altogether 1.5 (if even ) ears of corn cut down into strips that were roasted with barely enough glaze to call ribs. It was a creative idea since you do gnaw away at it and leave a bunch of "bones" on the plate after you're finished. It's by no means $14 worth of corn and creativity. I'd price that at $8 as a shareable thing and include a lot more glaze. I'm glad I tried it and will probably copy the idea at my next bbq but I don't think I'd ever order it again if I saw it somewhere else in the future. As for the seafood, it was eaten quickly by those who ordered it. No major praises or complaints so I decided to rank this with 3 stars. So-so service, decent food, slightly high pricing, so-so ambiance and so-so french fries (LOL). I don't think I'd personally recommend this place to someone if they were visiting Seattle as it appears there are other places that offer similar stuff in a much nicer neighborhood. Getting here was pretty dicey with questionable characters roaming the streets. read more

For drinks, I ordered the vodka pear collins and it was really good - sweet and refreshing. For food, we ordered oysters as an appetizer and the fish and chips for our main entrees. I'm not an oyster fan so I didn't try those but my family and boyfriend enjoyed them. The fish and chips were yummy! You could tell that the fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. We got 2 dozen oysters, and we really enjoyed trying the different ones. Super fresh and such different flavours! In general, the menu is focused on seafood. We got the cioppino, which was delicious, along with a side of fries. We also got the steamed mussels and clams.
