First time dining in this beautiful and outdoor restaurant with hubby and mom. The view is spectacular and very peaceful. The ambiance very nice and friendly staff. Service on point and very good staff making sure we're happy and enjoying. Food was good but a little salty for myself also a little pricey as well I will say but presentation great in the elegant way. Other than that very nice and a good place to give it a try. We all have different experiences in different places so it's always to experience for yourself

A nice experience overall - had an early dinner here, food was really fresh - enjoyed the trio appetizer. Wanted a glass of Sancerre but it's only sold by the bottle so settled on rose instead. Had the burrata salad - very fresh! View is nice, plenty of parking. Service was good. Ambiance is pretty - Would probably go back!

Beautiful views and a really nice vibe overall. The calamari was super crispy which I love and the drinks were made really well without tasting watered down or overly sweet. The space felt clean and stylish and the service was friendly.

How do I convey that this restaurant is 4 and 0.99 stars without sounding sprung. I cannot. We LOVED the food. Edgewater is new to us and Taverna Veranda has melded to our minds. The waitress was friendly, pleasant and elevated our experience. She let us know about the pineapple that looked like garnish that changed the lavender mousse from good to HOLY SHARK REPELLENT BATMAN! Unfortunately we went during single digit temperatures and can't wait to return in the spring/summer. It's clean, romantic and romantic.

THE FOOD ---------------- + Hummus Dip - Came with a nice amount of pita chips and it was good. Dip was very fresh, tasty and smooth. + Grilled Chicken Wings - Wings were perfectly cooked, a little charred and the roasted pepper aioli sauce had a slight kick, but it was excellent. + Short Rib Sliders - 2 sliders in the order. Sliders were good. Brioche was puffy. Short rib was tender and not dry. + Octopus - Phenomenal! The sliced octopus pieces sat on slices of roasted potatoes and the octopus was soooooo tender and delicious. Definitely could have used more. + Lamb Burger - Excellent burger! The meat was flavorful and the aioli added a little kick. Spiced fries were excellent too. The brioche bread did get a bit soggy though from all of the ingredients sitting on it. + Skirt Steak - The steak was huggggge and cut into slices. Steak was cooked perfectly medium and very tender. Once again, spiced fries were excellent. - Baclava - Came with 3 Baclava rolls and a scoop of pistachio ice cream. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough ice cream for the amount of Baclava there was. The Baclava was OK, but a bit too dry for my liking and definitely needed the ice cream to supplement the flavor. THE SERVICE ------------------- + Excellent service throughout our evening. + Waitress was very friendly and attentive checking in on us. + All of the busboys were verrrry active in clearing plates ... maybe a little too active as we were still working on some dishes and they almost cleared a few seemingly empty plates that weren't. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + Restaurant has nice panaramic views of the Hudson River and NYC. + Interior of the restaurant is spacious and has plenty of tables and bar seats. + Huge strip mall parking lot with plenty of parking spaces. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Came by on an early Friday evening at 6 PM and there was a good crowd inside. There were still plenty of open tables though. Crowd was trendy, music was bumping (but not excessively loud) and most people were there for happy hour (M-F 5-7:30pm), however, there was a mix of families there too for dinner.

Love that there's parking and that the restaurant is right on the water. The décor is a vibe, and the food matched it. My group ordered several appetizers, including the hummus sampler and the octopus. For the main dishes, everyone ordered either the skirt steak, branzino, or the chicken skewers. Everything was delicious. No complaints about the food at all. The only comment is that we were a table of seven with early reservations since we had a baby with us. Even though we were one of the first and only tables when we arrived, the service was a bit slow and we had to get the waiter's attention a few times. This was not enough to lose any stars. The waiter was very nice and attentive once he came by.

Taverna Veranda was amazing. The location is near the water so there is a gorgeous view of the NyC skyline. There is ample parking as it is located in a plaza so there was a lot of self parking. The service was great. We had a reservation for five so we were seated upon walking in. I recommend having the majority of your party there for easier service. The decor was fitting and cozy. A little dark but not impossible to see my food or people's faces. The music was cool but we were talking so it didn't fully bother us or grab our attention. There is a great selection of wines and cocktails. The holiday sangria was one of the best sangrias I have ever tasted. I would highly recommend it. The other cocktails on the menu seemed very interesting and my dinner guest did try different cocktails as well as a mocktail and they all really enjoyed them enough to order seconds so that speaks. We ordered appetizers for the table which included the spicy feta, hummus, and crispy calamari. The spicy feta and the hummus came with two types of pita bread. One was like warm and soften. The other was a little crunchy. They both complimented the spicy feta and hummus perfectly. The crispy calamari had an aïoli and a red sauce, which I believe may have been some type of marinara sauce I didn't taste it, but the aïoli was really good and the calamari was cooked to perfection. For our entrees, the table had the lobster pasta, rack of lamb, spinach, and mashed potatoes, as well as brussels sprouts salad. We all enjoyed our meals and had no complaints whatsoever. I specifically had the lobster pasta and it was really good. I am not a big lobster fan, but I wanted to try something new so the lobster pasta was cooked really well, had great seasoning and flavor and it didn't overwhelm me with lobster it was just the right lobster to pasta ratio. I did use the restroom and it was clean, so I appreciated that. Service was really good as our table host was accommodating, patient and recommended great choices especially the sangria. I would definitely return to try other options on their menu.

Grilled octopus- tasteful, but small portion for the price.

Did you meet your new date online and they stated they like trying new restaurants? Would like to take your long time partner to a romantic dinner and try a different menu? The view, low lights and nice right volume music make this restaurant perfect to accomplish the goals above. All the waitress are on point; polite, friendly and they don't take the glass with the last sip of your drink without asking. They have a dressing code; they asked me to take my hat off. I recommend this place and all items in the pics on this review.

We came to Taverna Veranda for a girls' night out with old friends and had such a great time. Yes, the bill was a little steep (around $900 for 5 of us), but honestly the food, drinks, and overall experience made it worth it. The food was outstanding. The lamb chops were perfectly seasoned and cooked just right, the squid ink pasta with lobster was rich and full of flavor, and the sides complemented everything so well. You can tell they really put care into every dish that comes out. The drinks were another highlight...my espresso martini was delicious and you know I love a good espresso martini, and every cocktail at the table was beautifully made and delicious. To top it off, the manager came over and surprised us with a round of free shots, which was such a fun touch and made the night feel even more special. The service was amazing throughout...attentive, warm, and really added to the whole experience. The restaurant has beautiful views and outdoor seating, which we'll definitely come back for on a nicer day (it was raining this time). Overall, Taverna Veranda was the perfect spot for a memorable girls' night. Great food, amazing drinks, fun atmosphere, and thoughtful touches that made us feel taken care of. Add this place to your list!!

We were here for a weekend lunch. We made a reservation to ensure we have table upon arrival, but it wasn't too busy, we were the second group at the restaurant. I was really impressed with the interior of the place, beautiful pink flowers, little bit of greenery, a fancy bar, and of course the tables on the closed deck looking out to NYC harbor. We started with the grilled octopus, very well cooked. Then I had the lamb burger. Excellent paddy with delicious cheese and toppings. Fries were good too. I got to try the Branzino as well. It had two filets, cooked over ladolemono sauce. Loved its flavor. Overall the service was good. Our server was a pro. Some of the staff helped us to take photos inside the restaurant. Overall we had a wonderful lunch experience by the Hudson.

Came here for a birthday lunch. Love the view and decoration inside the restaurant. Flowery theme and open space. The waiter is very nice and attentive. He forgot my drink at the beginning but as me signaled him down, he realized it and brought me the drink. The lychee cocktail was very very strong for me. It was good and with strong lychee aroma. The Bronzino was cooked beautifully. Tender inside and crispy skin. With the lemon, it was absolutely wonderful. I would recommend for a date and family gathering. Very relaxing vibes and good food.

View of Manhattan

The day after 4th of July we wanted somewhere fun to eat and we found it! Such a beautiful view of the Hudson and you can hear the waves, great service and the most delicious food! Highly recommend the lobster gyros, chicken kebab, grilled swordfish and lemon chicken! Perfect afternoon!

TLDR: great food, great service, great environment. Perfect place for a first date or to celebrate a special occasion. Came here for dinner on a Saturday and it was EXTREMELY busy. Luckily they had a very large parking lot so it was easy to get a spot. O well, food was great, portions were perfect and the price was reasonable. Falafel: very strong flavor and very crisp. Okay but wouldn't order again. Watermelon and feta salad: refreshing and definitely opens up your appetite. Would order again. Skirt steak: cooked to a perfect medium rare with a chimichurri sauce. Wish it came with some grilled vegetables or something but had to order it a la Carte. Not sure if I would order again. Tiger shrimp: huge shrimp, cooked to perfection with a beautiful char. Would order again. Chicken kebabs: juicy chicken thighs kn a generous portion of rice. Would order again. Lamb chops: cooked perfectly but it was SO oily. Although it's naturally fatty, the bottom of the plate had a huge puddle of oil. Not sure if I would order it again. Calarami: perfectly crisp with a nice sauce pairing. Would order again

PICK THREE - $27 * Eggplant Salad, Tzatziki, Ajvar ARUGULA & PEAR SALAD - $17 Fresh arugula with thinly sliced pear, walnuts, blue cheese, dried cranberries, olive oil, and honey vinaigrette. STUFFED GRAPE LEAVES - $14 Grape leaves stuffed with rice, pine nuts, currants, and herbs. I sampled most of the dishes and thought all of the salads were very good, although the pear slices in the Arugula & Pear Salad could have been riper. The Eggplant Salad was really more of a dip than a salad, but it had excellent flavor. The Cheese Pastries were crispy, hot and tasty. The Zucchini Pancakes were bland and would have been better with a more generous serving of the garlic yogurt sauce. Service was good for the most part, though a little spotty at times, especially when it came time to get the check. Overall, this was a solid four-star dining experience. We'd be happy to return.

The staff was extremely helpful, created a menu for us to confirm, and had the entire thing set up and planned the night before within an hour of starting the process. On the day of the event, the food was a-MA-zing. Starting with a selection of jams, honey, hummus, and muhammara, there were toast points and pita for dipping and snacking. As that was being enjoyed, we were served falafel (so incredibly crunchy on the outside without being dry inside; beautifully fragrant and fluffy interior) with tahini based sauce, two different cheese plates, and pide. Just as my guests were starting to slow down, the platters of shakshouka, mascarpone scrambled eggs, and tiny pancake bites with fruit came out, capping a wonderful meal. Along with the turkish coffee, tea, and (STRONG) endless mimosas, this was an excellent meal and a special event that the staff executed wonderfully even with last minute prep time. 5/5 stars, no notes, rave review, would recommend, would go back again.

Warm, cozy, and inviting, with a relaxed vibe that made it easy to settle in and linger over the meal. Appetizers We started with a cheese flatbread, boat-shaped and blistered at the edges, the interior molten and gooey with a bright basil leaf on top. Simple but done really well, crisp crust giving way to all that warm cheese. Mains The brunch dishes were the highlight. A sizzling skillet of eggs cooked over spiced sausage came out rich and savory, the yolks just set, perfect for scooping up with the basket of warm bread on the side. The tomato-based baked eggs were equally good, a deep, well-seasoned sauce with a little heat and fresh herbs on top. Comforting, generous, and full of flavor. Drinks The blackberry mocktail was a standout, refreshing and beautifully garnished with a cluster of fresh blackberries. Always great to see a thoughtful non-alcoholic option that feels like more than an afterthought. Service Attentive and warm throughout. The team kept everything moving smoothly without ever feeling rushed. Verdict Five stars. Delicious food, a cozy atmosphere, and a mocktail worth ordering on its own. A fantastic UWS brunch spot that I'd happily return to.

I went with my husband and a few coworkers, and while the service was a little underwhelming, the food was excellent. Our initial interactions with the hostess and waiter could have been warmer, and our waiter was a bit hard to track down despite arriving early at 5 PM when the restaurant was still pretty quiet. He also strongly suggested we order more food because he didn't think we had enough, but we ended up with extra. It was a slightly odd interaction, though perhaps we just caught them on an off night. The food was the highlight. We ordered all six mezze for $51, and every single one was delicious. The horseradish beets were my favorite. I loved how they put their own spin on Middle Eastern classics. We also got the Israeli salad, roasted lamb, Levantine Caesar salad, flash-fried cauliflower, and several drinks. The cucumber mint lemonade was refreshing. I didn't have a single bad bite. I was especially happy to support an Israeli restaurant in NYC. Between the food, colorful atmosphere, and spacious layout, Dagon is a great option for a group dinner. Hopefully, the service will be a little better next time and it was just off when we went!

Also plusses in Miriam's favor were the fact that I could easily make a reservation (they use SevenRooms) and its proximity to the Museum of Natural History. Many of the menu items looked appealing. Two of us ordered the latkes Benedict ($27) which I loved. Instead of Canadian bacon, you're served smoked salmon. And swap out the regular hollandaise for a harissa version. There was also za'atar labneh and a chopped salad with cucumbers and tomatoes on the side, also delectable. The third person ordered the traditional shakshuka ($24) which also earned acclaim. I have to give a thumbs up to the hummus. The hostess was peppy and welcoming. Our server was more scarce towards the end of the meal for some reason, but she was nice, and the busboy seemed cool. This was not my ideal outcome, as the interior was beautiful, elegant, and cooler temperature wise. Initially, I was planning to order the Lamb Shawarma Terracotta dish, but saw that the restaurant was partaking in Restaurant Week, offering a 3 course meal for $45. For the first course, I decided to go with the choice 3 vegetable appetizers, even though I really wanted bread. I selected Potato Salad, Moroccan Carrot, and Roasted Red Beet. The Potato Salad contained horseradish and pickle. This was quite tasty. Moroccan Carrot was cooked perfectly in flavorful spices. Roasted Red Beet was tender and juicy, with a bit of sweetness from the pomegranate. For the main course, I ordered the NY Strip Steak (came on a skewer) with a side of Majadra Rice. This also came with cucumber tomato salad, but I would've preferred the addition of Pita or Za'atar Laffa instead. The Steak was nicely charred, succulent, and well seasoned. I also enjoyed the Majadra Rice, which was full of lentils and crispy onions with a lovely blend of cumin, coriander, and allspice. I also got to try the Za'atar Fries and these were oh so mouthwatering, delightfully crispy, full of bold flavor. The Fries were truly addicting! The dessert I had was the Kanafe Custard Cups with raspberry, and served warm. This was delectable, lightly sweet, fragrant, and just the right blend of delicate kanafe and velvety smooth custard. Service was pretty good. Our waitress was welcoming and knew the menu well. Prices were decent. I would return to try the Lamb Shawarma Terracotta or Salmon and some of the bread with Labneh Tzatziki.
