They're pretty busy always (given they were full on a random Tuesday late night) and you can't make reservations. But you can make one at their sister upstairs speakeasy then head downstairs for a night cap. I believe they have a seasonally evolving menu. They were on their *sins* format when we went so all their drinks were based on sins. We tried Trechery - their clarified milk punch and Fraud -a hot coffee based drink that is eons ahead of an espresso martini. Both were so outstanding and made us realize why Seattle is leading the coffee game.

Stopped by for the speakeasy and stayed for the popcorn chicken. I've never tried popcorn chicken quite like this. The batter melted in your mouth and the chicken tasted so fresh. The condiments that came along with it were so good. The ranch tasted homemade and the barbecue sauce had a spicy zing to it and was delicious! I literally don't think I'll ever have popcorn chicken as good as this anytime soon.

Tavern Law is a true hidden gem in Seattle. It's a small, cozy, old-style spot with a warm ambience that makes you feel comfortable the moment you walk in. The food menu is simple, but everything is done really well -- fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. What really stands out is the drink menu. It's incredibly creative, filled with ingredients and combinations I'd never even heard of. Every cocktail feels like something special, and you can tell a lot of thought goes into each one. The service was outstanding. Everyone working there genuinely seemed happy to be there, and it shows in the way they take care of guests. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'll definitely be going back soon. Highly recommend!

We had a reservation in advance and they were quick to seat us. The ambiance was perfectly moody for a date night or just a nice evening with friends. We shared the steak and Mac and cheese and added the pork belly. The meat on both dishes were tender and both were overall amazing. The food was on the heavier side but it was exactly what we were craving that night so this spot made the night for us. The cocktails here were also amazing. Quick service and friendly staffs as well. We will for sure be back soon!!

Heard about this place from a few friends and had to come! It's a small restaurant/bar but they have a secret speakeasy! You have to make a reservation and only allotted an hour. One you walk into the restaurant you go to a secret door and you call up and someone escorts you up! Once up stairs we were seated immediately and a server comes up and ask drink preference and they ask from scratch. Do you like fruity, what type of liquor, not to sweet etc. for mine I picked not to sweet, vodka, blueberry and citrus it came out close to a martini. The other drinker prefers sweeter and they were both amazing. My second drink I chose bourbon and it came out as a Smokey Bourbon drink with honey and lemon! It was delicious! We also got a few snacks. I got a side of olives, smoked salmon crostini which was delicious and a burrata. This place is a 10/10. I would come back for the bourbon drink alone!

The servers and bartenders are so kind and knowledgeable. I'm a huge fan of of the cocktail specials because I can experience something I've never experienced. Also I had the pork chop the last time I was there (df/gf) and it was DELICIOUS. The bar area is definitely noisy but it's great for a quick drink and light convo.

Food - I have had their Mac n cheese and it's REALLY good. Very worth it if you're looking for a snack or small meal. The drinks are also super interesting! I tried the Rain! last time which features black ants (heads up vegetarians and vegans!). This time, I tried the Ichor. My partner tried the espresso martini and my other companions got an Ichor and a seasonal drink that they both liked. Service - perfectly polite and welcoming! Very warm and attentive staff with excellent recommendations and ready to answer any and all questions in detail! Ambiance - feels like a nice and chill spot, but still very classy, to have a drink or two. Or three. Especially if you're waiting for needle and thread. I've been here twice and would definitely come back!

Drinks and food tasted good. Came to check them out and try their all day Sunday happy hour. Atmosphere was fun and it was a nice date night spot. Very busy though, all the seats on the bar were filled. The smoky mac and cheese was great, but I don't think the pork belly really added anything. It was just two tiny pieces slapped on top. Popcorn chicken was good, but I really loved the dill/ranch sauce!

The interior of the bar is librarian chic with a tinge of rustic and leather. I would recommend the drinks - I got the Dusty Hummingbird and it was strong (I could taste the Mezcal) but also easily palatable. I tried my friends drinks and they were all delicious! I would definitely come back here :) The service was also fast and helpful if a recommendation is asked for

Honestly kind of underwhelming. This was at the top of my list of spots to hit on my trip to Seattle and the first cocktail bar I went to here. It's a cool experience entering but honestly felt like they could have done more with the space to create more of a vibe. It's very small which is nice cause it makes it feel more intimate. There was a bit of a pretentious air with the bartender which some would say you expect with a curated cocktail bar but I disagree in that you can offer a high level of service and be great at your craft while still being very friendly and creating a welcoming environment. The bartender wasn't by any means rude or bad, I've just been to other speakeasies and high end bars that the team makes it feel more welcoming and executing elevated service while also being a bit warmer. The experience was fine the bartender did a good job with asking and explain the standard questions so figure out a drink I wanted. This bar is definitely spirit craft focused and not presentation or garnish focused with very minimal creativity aesthetically wise other than unique vessels for the drinks to go in. I had the steak which wasn't bad, the marinade was good and the steak cooked well and very tender but it was very cold like they let it rest or sit too long before bringing. My overall experience wasn't bad but it wasn't anything memorable. I feel like it is kind of a one and done thing to say you've been but I don't know if I would go back.

Exquisite drinks and bites at an upscale spot with an absolutely beautiful interior and a sophisticated vibe. They apparently have a *secret* area upstairs that is even more amazing! Shoutout to our server Coa who was incredible and fun - he even gave us samples of drink recipes he was trying out! One small nit is it gets bit loud as it gets crowded. Drinks: -Woodinville Old Fashioned ($19) -I Get my Peach Down in Georgia ($17) Drinks are beautiful and well crafted Food: -Salmon Crostini ($4 each) - tiny but incredible, blocks of soft smoked salmon on a creamy tangy spread on a crispy crostini. Each crostini is pretty much one bite though -Beef Cheeks ($18) - 3 small pieces of protein. Extremely tender and paired well with the peaches and sauce -Bread Pudding ($8) - not too sweet with a nice toasty caramel sauce and dollops of fresh whipped cream Street parking located on a strip of pike/pine

Instagram : @yeapeats…read more I was excited to try Needle & Thread since it's often described as a speakeasy, but the "hidden" aspect didn't quite live up to expectations. Unlike other speakeasies that feel truly hidden, you actually just walk into Tavern Law, check in with the hostess, and let them know you have a reservation. They then guide you to a telephone where you repeat your reservation name before being let upstairs. It's a fun concept, but not especially secretive, and they're pretty strict about not letting you up early unless it's very empty. Once seated, we actually waited almost 20 minutes before being served with no acknowledgement. We ended up having to flag down the manager just to bring attention to our table, which was disappointing given the experience they're aiming for. The waitress asks a series of questions about your preferences--likes, dislikes, and flavor inspirations--so the bartenders can create custom cocktails for you. If you're knowledgeable about alcohol, this is probably a dream. If you're not (like me), it can feel a little intimidating, but our waitress was patient and did her best to guide us through it. The drinks themselves were excellent. Even the shots were customized, which was a nice touch. The vibe upstairs is chill and relatively quiet, making it a great place to relax and talk. Food is the same menu as downstairs at Tavern Law, so nothing new there. The only downside--and unfortunately a noticeable one--was an interaction with the female bartender (not our waitress). Based on the questions we were asked, my friend gave a mix of savory and sweet preferences, since we were told these were just inspirations. However, the female bartender came over sounding visibly annoyed and said, "So do you want savory or sweet? You're giving contradicting answers." The tone felt unnecessarily rude, especially since we were just following the process as it was explained to us. Overall, the drinks were great and the concept is unique, but between the delayed service and that negative interaction, it definitely put a damper on the experience.

First off, the waitress and aesthetic were excellent…read more My only complaint is that while the drinks are quite good, for a 60 minute reservation, it took 20 minutes for us to get a drink. The dessert arrived before our "bespoke cocktails".

We ended up waiting longer than expected, and when we finally received the text to come down, the door was already opening for a party that arrived after us. A big part of the Founders Club experience is the bookshelf entrance, and I had really hoped my partner could experience that excitement for the first time, but it ended up feeling a bit anticlimactic. Roquette was a surprisingly small space with a wonderful vibe serving up "destination" bar-worthy cocktails. It reminded me of some of the neighborhood gem cocktail bars that I'd frequented on the East Coast. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Roquette's lineup of cocktails were varied in flavor profile using a wide range of spirits. They also served non-alcoholic offerings which looked equally intriguing as their boozy selections. I started off with the 99 Problems ($28), which, unfortunately, I forgot to note what was in the drink. It was boozy, clever, inventive, and most importantly delicious. My second drink was the Imperium Old Fashioned ($24) made with Westland Whiskey "Roquette" Barrel, Clement Cask Strength Rhum, Old Delicious Apple Brandy, Pineapple, and Spice. It was an excellent, boozy, balanced update to the classic Old Fashioned. Although I went with drinks off their menu, I have no doubt that any of their skilled bar professionals could've crafted me a wonderful cocktail if I had simply requested a classic or something on the fly based on my choice of spirit and desired flavor profile. Yes, the prices on the two drinks I ordered were pretty steep, but they were comparable to prices I've paid in Las Vegas. Plus, I don't have a problem with paying a premium for a well-made cocktail made with premium ingredients in a comfortable, welcoming setting (the drunken guy next to me who tried to engage with me in a political discussion excluded). They also have standard as well as unique takes on tiki drinks. We were surprised to find so many options with vodka and tequila which isn't common in a more traditional tiki bar We had the: - "Kiki Premier Mai Tai" which wasn't as rum forward as we would have thought, especially given how many rums it had in it; but overall it was a classic style Mai Tai and tasty with quality rums - "One Eyed Willy" which has a fun presentation in a chest with smoking dry ice. This one you could taste the rum more and overall it was a really enjoyable drink and experience - "See A Light" which is a non-alcoholic option and the taste was just as good as the presentation. Came in a lovely angler fish tiki mug with the light and everything! The taste was complex and something that thought went into creating - "Four Boys" another non-alcoholic option that was the coolest visual as it came in a "steaming" crock pot. The taste was very unexpected, in a good way, and is a drink I would get again Overall the drinks were about a 4/5 but with the charming atmosphere and whimsical presentation it's a 5 star experience that is just fun

This place was highly recommended from my cousin who lives in Seattle. So while I was visiting for…read moreEmerald City Comic Con, I had to check this place out. First and foremost, you need to make a reservation. I did end up needing to move my reservation up because of scheduling but it worked out and the staff were really nice about helping me. This is a speakeasy inside Rumba, I did not know that going in. It's incredibly cool to walk into the bar. The decor is amazing. It's super small though with a few tables and bar seating. It was kinda loud when I was there since most tables were filled. My server was nice as well and was able to answer all my questions. Ambiance was exceptional and is such a cool place to visit. Most of the cocktails came with fancy show of some sort and were extravagant - and equally delicious. I got The Inside Passage, but there were at least three others I was trying to chose from. There was a lot of thought that went into the presentation of each of the drinks and I love that attention to detail. Since it was around dinner time I did want to order food and drink. They did not have the Kikisoba (they ran out) and that made me sad, but I was able to order the Rumba sliders and a basket of fries. I'm not a huge sliders fan, and I did order the caramelized pineapple on the side. The sliders were incredibly flavorful and the perfect size. For anyone wanting to visit Seattle, I do highly recommend this place. It's a really cool vibe and the food is really good too.
