The worst experience. Ordered the mediterranean salmon salad and asked to swap out the salmon for steak. Was told yes. When the bill came I was charged $22 for the original salad plus another $12 for steak. A $40 salad. I asked the server why I was being charged additional when I asked to swap them. It wasn't like I was getting both the salmon & steak. She told me that no matter what, the price of the salad wouldn't change. I then asked why I wouldn't have been told that there would be an up charge plus the original price. She sat and argued with me until I asked for a manager, which in turn she told me she was the manager. After I was adamant that it was absurd, she told me she would go ask the chef if he could do anything about it. I could hear her talking to him about me and the situation. She did come back over with a $24 tab and told me she just charged me for the steak salad. Overall, terrible experience and I will not be going back. read more

The food is great at Tavern 180, but I wish they had a lunch menu with smaller options. Their dishes are slightly overpriced as is, but for lunch the portions were too big. I would like to see some smaller dishes that are more moderately priced. Lots of variety on the menu, something for everyone. I was shocked at how moist the chicken breast was! The veggies were fresh and not soggy or overcooked, but they were pretty bland. I added salt and pepper but some other seasoning would have been better. The Boursin mash was on point. The drinks not cheap but are a lot of fun...most are poured over dry ice at your table. Keeps it cold and the bubbles are fun to watch. The atmosphere is quite dark and the decor choices were not my favorite, but everything was clean so it didn't really bother me. The service was fairly slow, which is more of an issue at lunch time since most people have to get back to work. So just make sure to tell your server otherwise they will take their time. read more

First time checking Tavern 180 out on a date night with my wife. The entire experience from start to finish was absolutely amazing. Our server was prompt, gave us great recommendations, and made sure our drinks were constantly filled. We started with the BBQ Nachos which were full of flavor and large pieces of brisket meat on top. Overall very filling and a great starter to go with drinks. I tried the Mango Breeze martini and my wife had their Mango Margarita to drink. Both had nice sweetness of mango in them but not overly sweet. Definitely recommend both. For dinner we split the 6 ounce filet which was prepared to perfection. It is seasoned with their own special spices, which I wish I had, but for sure was a prominent black pepper taste. Topped with a delicious slice of butter that melted as soon as we cut into the steak. I would give them 5 stars just for the steak it was that good! We finished with the butter cake. WOW! One of the best desserts either of us have had in a long time. Homemade in house and topped with fresh fruit and frozen cream? (Maybe ice cream?) and strawberry sauce. You need to save room for this next time you stop in. This is going to be one of our new favorite date night spots - thank you! read more

Went to Tavern 180 for the first time this past Saturday and overall, I was pretty impressed! The service was fairly spot on. Server was mildly attentive, but the manager paid several visits to our table to refill waters, check on food, etc. so it was definitely the perfect amount. I started my meal off with the Mango Bubble which was good, but a bit too sweet. Loved that they used dry ice to create the bubbling effect. I don't drink many cocktails so maybe other places have been doing this for years but it was novel to me. For the appetizer, we got the poke tuna nachos per our server's recommendation and those were amazing. I wished I would've snapped a photo because it was a pretty dish, however, we devoured it so fast I missed my chance. I normally get a salmon dish for my main entree, but this time I was eye-ing the brisket sandwich based on the server's recommendation. The sandwich itself was big and hearty and I liked that the sauce came on the side. The fries were thinner and perfectly crispy. My only complaint about my entree was the BBQ sauce. I like most kinds of BBQ but the whiskey bbq was a bit too strong for me, too much whiskey flavor and not enough smoky flavor in my opinion. We were so stuffed for dessert but I also had that FoodLovers app which came with a free Butter cake. While my husband and I only took about 2-3 bites each, it was still delicious and buttery. Sports fans. This is where the bar should be set for brunch in our wonderful city of Omaha. We stopped in Monday morning on our first day of a week long vacation expecting a good brunch as we had been here for dinner and enjoyed it, but they absolutely knocked it out of the park for breakfast. The cafe side is the perfect cozy setup with a chill atmosphere, TVs and a small coffee bar. Don't you worry, they have access to the full bar and are plenty generous on making a stiff drink to wake you up. The flatbread was super tasty and we could have eaten those fried onions by themselves! Splitting that between 2 for a full breakfast would have been enough but we were feeling a tad extra this morning. Never have I ever ordered avocado toast off a menu but I figured I had eggs on the flatbread and I can get an omelette anywhere, so might as well try the avo toast this first time around. IMPRESSED. Eggs poached to perfection. Tomatoes accompanied it so well. Also, the seasonal fruit was on point with an all berry mix! Now this chicken fried steak was next level. The picture does not do it justice with how big it was! With flavor to back it up. The breading was on the thicker side, but crispy and done well. For 13 bucks it was a steal with all the food that came along side it. Service was fabulous and made us feel super welcome. We were the only table in the place and thank goodness there was another one walking in as we headed out the door. I travel to this area frequently and this is one of my favorite places to eat. Excellent service every time. Food is outstanding and great portions. Only comment this trip was a service dog that was allowed at the bar and allowed ON the floor where one person almost by tripping on that dog. I am a huge animal lover but don't think a service animal should be allowed with a patron AT the bar and on the floor in people's way. Hoping that one doesn't happen again when I visit. Highly recommend this restaurant, however, for the food, service and prices. read more

Big bummer :( Wanted to try a new spot close to home and the menu looked great! I ordered the salmon (blackened) and my boyfriend ordered the Parm Crusted Chicken. He'd asked the server if there was dairy in the dish as he is lactose intolerant. She told him yes, in the mashed potatoes so he swapped those out. He found out after cleaning his plate the lemon wine sauce contained heavy whipping cream and is now laying down sick at home :( My salmon came out not blackened and she said "oh they just didn't put much" - brought it to the kitchen, and back 30 seconds later. They literally sprinkled seasoning on it. Anyone who knows anything about cooking knows blackening is a preparation - not a garnish. All around disappointment. read more

This was the first time we have been to the Tavern and it did not disappoint. The cocktails were yummy, I had the French dip with Brussels sprouts for a side, it was delicious and my friend had the Thai flatbread, and she said hers was wonderful. Our server was very attentive. You know when order something from McDonald's, and they give you something completely different...Well, it's not like that here, the food looks exactly like the pictures! We were searching for food after lots of drinks at a bar. It was 10:00pm and most restaurant in town were already closed. We were desperate, and it seems "Live Mas" at Taco Bell was our only option. On our drive to Taco Bell, we saw Tavern 180 (open till 11pm), and thank God we did, because the morning after Taco Bell is never pleasant. We were expecting Bar & Grill type of atmosphere similar to Applebee's; however, this was place was lot fancier. You'll notice the dining area is intimate with white tablecloths and lights dimmed creating a romantic atmosphere. That's not good since I was with my homie Alex, too bro-mantic for us, so we headed straight to their classy bar. The bartender was cute and super attentive. She made us delicious drink as we were browsing through the menu. We got the SHELLFISH BISQUE ENDOME, CENTER CUT 14 OZ RIBEYE & LOBSTER RAVIOLI. Everything tasted as good as they looked! A girlfriend and I went here for happy hour. We sat at the bar and were treated very well. They have some great happy hour drink specials, cocktails are around $6-$7. I ordered the tavern bubble to drink, it was very sweet but a great drink to start the evening with. It also comes with dry ice so it makes it kind of fun! We also ordered the queso bacon appetizer. First to address a few comments I saw in other reviews: Yes - it is noisy, it is a big open area and the bar noise carries into the main dining room. Personally this wasn't a drawback for us, I like this over sterile quiet places where you can hear the fork scrape the plate. Second - it's not cheap. It's not out of line with restaurants in the area and it has a wide range of options. I don't normally include prices in my reviews, but this time I will. Lastly - the IPad menus. These are really cool, the menu is interactive, shows pics of all entrees and you can scroll and navigate easily. I saw some "technology bad, grr" comments. Get over it. We started with cocktails. They have a short but fun list. I had the Tavern Bubbles ($14) - great presentation table side and nice flavor. My husband had the Blood Orange Margarita ($12) and also thought it was delicious. Next we debated about apps. I really wanted to try the Shellfish Bisque Endome ($12) so skipped an appetizer but my husband decided to go for the Nachos ($13). He loved them, I stole a few bites of the beef and they were melt in your mouth tender. The bisque - oh the bisque. It is worth a trip just for this soup. Seriously, seriously good. Pastry topped, hearty seafood, yum, yum, yum. Our mains were the Madri Gras Pasta ($19) and the Sea Scallops ($28). We were tempted by the steaks, but wanted the full app-entree-dessert experience and figured we'd be too full to do that if we had steak. The pasta is basically a noodle version of Jambalaya. Solid entree, nothing spectacular. The Scallops are served on grits cakes. I was curious so gave this a try. I found out I do not like grits cakes, so this one was a miss for me. The scallops themselves were well done, none of the gritty or metallic taste you sometimes get with less quality or poorly prepared ones. We were full, had already decided we would be back, but couldn't ignore the siren's call of dessert. Our waiter Dylan recommended the Bananas Foster Pan Perdue ($8). The cinnamon ice cream and warm banana caramel sauce were a great finish to the meal. A special note about our waiter, Dylan was great, very helpful and informative. We asked about vegetarian entrees for our next visit and, although there aren't any on the menu, he checked with the chef who offered to make any entree vegetarian or to fix a special veggie pasta dish up. Nice! (But seriously, in this day and age there should be at least one main dish without meat on the menu.) So not a perfect 5 star place, but a strong 4 and definitely worth the repeat visit. Visiting in town for a tournament, we came with a large group on 8/16 for a last minute celebratory brunch. We sat outside on the patio. The servers and manager gave us great service, even brought a water bowl out for our pup. The menu was diverse enough to satisfy everyones brunch tastes...the fries were delicious. We went through several bottles of of champagne for mimosas. They had the bottles in chillers on the table and brought out 4 different juices in carafes. For the bar experience, 4.5 stars! We decided to stop by here for a nightcap after drinks/dinner next door at Pitch West. They close at 11pm on Saturday night, so it's not the kind of place to be trashy till 2am. In fact, this is a dressy place and I would recommend at least a sports coat for men or a dress shirt. The dining space is smaller and intimate. White tablecloths and dim lighting make it an incredible place to take someone special for a date. The bar area is slightly separate, and is a beautiful wrap around bar that has a classy and impressive display of colorful bottles lit up against the wall. You can eat at a booth or table in the bar also for a slightly more modern casual vibe- but honestly the bar is just a nice as the formal dining area.The menu here is on a ipad which is really great to look at pictures and descriptions-as well as the fact that it lights up and the dining space is quite dim. Put those magnifying glasses and cell phone light away folks, the menu is actually readable! We started with a round of cocktails from their curated cocktail menu. I would not call this place 'craft cocktails' but certainly elevated twists on common favorites and they go the extra mile for presentation. For example, I had a lemon lime martini served with dry ice for extra effect. The presentation is also why the price tag for specialty cocktails here range from $12-15. Not cheap. You have to be someone who enjoys an environment and fancy presentation to be ok with the price. If the price seems steep, try them during happy hour to check them out! read more
