At this price point food should be perfectly prepared and memorable, service should be very attentive, and the atmosphere should be great for comfortably enjoying a meal with your party. Unfortunately none of that was true. The food wasn't bad, just not memorable, nor perfectly prepared. The services wasn't awful, but attentive service means you don't have to ask the waiter to refill water, he offers to refill your wine glass, and after the main courses are delivered it doesn't take 10+ minutes for him to come back to check and see if everything is perfect And, it's hard to enjoy a meal when the booth has you and the person sitting next to you hitting elbows constantly and the room is large and open with no sound dampening and the music is loud enough to force everyone in the room to talk louder to be heard by the rest of their table. Were I paying Texas Roadhouse or Outback prices, I'd have no complaints. But, when you're paying prices that force comparison to Sullivan's, Omaha Prime, Mahogany, etc., I expect more. On the positive side, the tablet menus are great. Especially for reading the wine list. It's not a bad place. It's just overpriced for what it is. I don't pay top dollar for average food, average service, and an average atmosphere. That's why the best I can give it is 3 stars. read more

We have been coming here for 2.5 years. The food here has improved tremendously. It was good from the start, but Chef has taken it to another level...and then he took it to another level. The menu is nearly identical to the original. So, one must conclude ingredients improved, as did preparation in the kitchen. This restaurant enjoys a busy Happy Hour atmosphere and an easy location for the Westside business dinner crowd. So, the unsung hero here is Chef and his creations. I have spoken to the servers over the years, and they all say the same thing: Chef is committed and passionate (about the Kitchen). Yum! This place was really good and had good drinks. The atmosphere was fun. I loved the bar that overpowered the dining area. It was a pretty focal point. I had the Parmesan encrusted chicken which was tasty and filling. It was much bigger than I expected and might be a good choice for those with a large appetite. Everything about the meal was tasty. The drinks were good and made with care. I liked that the drinks weren't the same as many other places have. Overall I think the quality was high and food was all good. The price here is above average, but so is the taste. If i were to improve anything it might be to offer just a little more variety. I don't recall there being any specials which might have been nice for that purpose. And I was surprised there were two market price items on this small of a menu. I will be going back. I'll start by saying that my issue was the staff, this sounds terrible, but she was driving me insane, and we all wanted to leave, and you could tell her whole section was annoyed. she kept forgetting items, would stop by table after table with wrong drinks and thought it was funny. Drinks, the mule was very good, and I had the Tavern bubbles that was awesome and had dry ice so it kept bubbling up. The fish and chips I ordered because the couple next to me had them and the pile looked huge, warm, fresh and had a pile of fries. Mine, didn't look like theirs at all, the taste was ok, fries were soggy. My daughter had the Salmon with asparagus risotto, the asparagus was tough. Salmon was average. Hubby had the filet, good flavor. We then noticed that a few tables definitely had the special and we didn't get told about it. The chocolate cake was dry, so that was one that we won't try again. I visited Tavern 180 for the first time today and had an all around good experience. The service was impeccable. Courteous and efficient. They use ipads instead of regular paper menus and its a stroke of genius. The ipad allows for a better menu browsing experience. If you have questions about a particular dish, simply click the name of the item on the menu and a photo of it along with detailed description pops up. It's a nice touch. I had the California grilled turkey sandwich with avocado and sun-dried tomato with sweet potato fries. Great flavor. Next time I go I'm looking forward to trying the berry and bleu salad. read more

I had a great dinner visit to Tavern 180. Do not be deceived by the outside appearance, the interior is nicely decorated and gives a deco appearance. I ordered the filet mignon and baked potato. The steak was cooked medium well and seemed to melt in my mouth with each bite. The potato didn't need the salt sprinkles for presentation purposes and was well prepared. They take 5-10 minutes to get each one and in small champagne glasses. Not worth the money in my mind. The food was just subpar. Nothing my table ordered was hot when it arrived everything was just warm like it had been sitting for awhile. I ordered avocado toast and there was no toast just soggy bread with guacamole and an egg on it. Rest of the food we didnt even finish. I like Tavern 180. Been here several times and the food is always tasty and the location is convenient. Have always had mixed feelings about the service, tonight was exceptionally interesting. Our server tonight was clearly not well trained and I'm not sure she's ever been to a "sit down" restaurant. The restaurant was at about 25% capacity. She first showed at our table 10 minutes after we had been seated, asked if we'd like water and when we said yes skuttled away before we could order any other drinks. She came back with the waters and quickly got away before we could order anything else. After a few more minutes we were able to get a drink order in and before she could disappear again ordered a wedge salad to split. (Great salad normally comes on two plates when split). 15 minutes passed and the salad showed up on a single plate. (Still no drinks). We asked for two plates and she came back with two platters large enough for a Thanksgiving Turkey. (Still no drinks). She mentioned the bar was backed up (75% of the place was unoccupied). Drinks came at the 25 minute mark and upon completion of our self plattered salads she asked if we might like some bread. We confirmed we would like bread and she brought some delicious warm rolls. Soon after we were served the bread she came to the table with two entrees in hand, one for our table and one for another, went back to the kitchen and retrieved my JBLT. I had just began to eat when she came back grabbed my plate and said "this was supposed to be for another table". At which point I mentioned that it was exactly what I ordered and had already begun to eat off of the plate. She set the plate down with no apology and disappeared back to the kitchen. When she returned as if nothing had happened she asked us how our meal was. We finished our meals and were asked on two separate occasions if we would like anything else. Both times the response was just the check. She brought us the bill with a pen as though she had already run the card and said thanks for coming. I suggested she run my credit card which she promptly did. Overall it was a confusing drawn out dining experience where we spent an hour and a half and were only able to get one drink each. read more

I've been here twice so far. At first blush, this place is pretty slick. The decor is modern and not inexpensive; the liquors on display are organized beautifully, there seems to be a coat or two of polish on everything, even the staff. It comes across as very upscale, which is what I'm assuming that they want their clientele to mirror. T180 seems to be very proud of its menus on iPad, but honestly, for me it doesn't give me a warm fuzzy. The whole image seems a bit too -- impersonal, would be my word of choice. Offerings from the food menu are not your typical bar fare; think more along the lines of a baked flatbread than a pizza, and so forth. However, the execution of the food does not seem to match its promise. It's okay, but not great. It doesn't live up to expectations. Service at the bar, where I've sat both times, is adequate, but not attentive. The bar staff could use more face to face time with their customers. It's not poor service, but it's not great service either. There is a dining area adjoining the bar that was packed on my first visit, and almost empty on my second. The drink menu is adequate but, again, does not have any special character that would jump out. It's like having a Maserati with a 4-cylinder engine; it's pretty to look at, at the surface holds a lot of promise, and will most of the time get you where you're going; it just won't do it with the aplomb and panache that you had been expecting. T180 looks like it would be a great place, but the sum of its parts do not add up to equal expectations. read more

I visited this joint while in Omaha for a trip in July - I think it opened a few weeks before I dined and honestly wasn't expecting much from the strip mall location on Omaha's west side but it was convenient for a meal with friends after golf - man was I wrong. I'd say this was one of the better meals I've had in 2016. They serve Allen Bros. Prime cuts so splurge for the Waygu (we shared the waygu tenderloin and ribeye). The bar is unique and worth a visit - also like the ipad menus and great wine selection. The only turn off is the entrance - it's just awkward and feels like a Denny's - but once you're inside it's a whole new world. read more

One of the most awkward/disappointing 3 minutes I have ever spent in a restaurant. We walked in to a woman standing behind the host stand staring at us, not saying a word. I waited a second for her to ask us how many, if we had reservations, dining room or bar.....NOTHING! I kindly said there would be two of us, still just a blank stare at me, until she rudely said "oh are you just a walk in"? I responded and told her that yes, we were, in fact, just walking in but would be more than happy to sit in the bar area if there were no tables open and there was room at the bar. She then pretended to talk to another one of the hosts and kind of walked around the bar, acting like she was looking for a seat. At this time, we decided to turn around and walk out.
