Very busy location at downtown Food was fresh and tasty . Pita bread was great Ambience great with pigeon around .

Ham & Cheese Croissant with Dijon Mustard

My lady friend picked this place out as a breakfast spot on our second day of a 4-day trip to Boston. Well, she loved it so much that we ended up coming back on days 3 and 4 too. The 1st day I got a House Breakfast Plate, which is 2 eggs (sunny side up for me), 2 pieces of thick bacon, a potato fritter with like a parmesan dusting, sourdough toast and a tomato jam. This was all amazing and only 12.00. A freaking steal! The 2nd and 3rd days I just got a ham and Swiss croissant w/Dijon mustard. Quite tasty. The lady friend raved about the black sesame latte and the pistachio latte, and she is a coffee snob.

I have been to several Tatte locations and the chain has always been consistent in serving fresh pastries, sandwiches, and desserts. Latest find: pineapple passionfruit matcha bombe. For someone who likes tropical flavors and matcha, this dessert has been a latest favorite.

Iced Black Sesame Latte and Halloumi & Sunny-Side Breakfast Sandwich
Alana K.

My friend and I came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon around 2pm. It wasn't that busy and we had no problem getting a table. I had the halloumi and sunnyside sandwich, which I've had before and is delicious every time. I also tried an iced black sesame latte, which was delicious (although on the sweeter side). As Tatte has expanded as a company, I think the service has lagged behind a bit and they operate more like a chain restaurant than a small business, but the quality of the food has remained very good.

Came on a Sunday morning and it was busy busy! Tables seemed to turn quickly so we were able to snag a small table in the corner. We each got a basic breakfast and the sandwich was so delicious! The almond and pistachio croissants were a bit hard and flaky- and not in a good way. The filling was good though and not too sweet. The space is clean and connected to a hotel. Keep in mind you cannon sit in their lobby to eat.

Traditional Shakshuka

Really enjoyed our breakfast at Tatte. This location had plenty of seating, so it was easy to grab a table. We ordered coffee and our food at the counter and grabbed our seats. We both ordered drip coffee, which was great. The Traditional Shakshuka was hot & delicious and paired perfectly with their bread. My husband enjoyed the Egg in the Hole, which he had never had before. I enjoyed my experience so much, I stopped in a different location the next day and tried different items. I would definitely recommend. Note: it's a VERY popular spot and it can get busy.

Fresh Mozzarella Sandwich & Pistachio Croissant
Maansi S.

Had a great experience here! While it was busy, even at 8am, we didn't have to wait too long for food. The pistachio croissant and the mozzarella sandwich were delicious! The iced americano and the orange blossom cold brew with vanilla cold foam was perfect too! The cold brew and croissant weren't very sweet either, just the way I like it. Would love to try other items on the menu. This is also a decent place to get some work done. It gets busy and there is limited seating, so try to get here early!

Black Sesame Latte - 12 oz

We were walking to the Boston Tea Party Museum while we noticed Tatte Bakery. The ambiance looked great from outside so we had to walk in. The service was quick, we got a sandwich and the black sesame latte. The prices were really good, especially for Boston! Food was delicious and latte was flavorful!

Mixed Berry Fruit Box Double Espresso Potato, Mushroom, & Bacon Shakshuka Roasted Salmon Sandwich House Breakfast Plate

Traveled to Boston roughly 2 months ago and almost forgot to leave a review for this gem! Food: I loved the shakshuka I ordered! It was my first time trying it, and I was pleasantly surprised how good it tastes. I didn't have too high of an expectation, but the flavors definitely exceeded what I had in mind. It was warm and came out in a pan with a piece of bread. My sisters really enjoyed the house breakfast and the salmon sandwich. The berry box was really good. The berries tasted fresh and the cream was lightly sweet! Drinks: I ordered the London fog. It tasted fine. There wasn't anything too special about it, but it kept me warm as it snowed outside. My sisters also thought their drinks, the matcha and coffee latte, were fine. It wasn't bad but also wasn't the greatest. Service: The line was long, but it moved rather quickly! The servers were very quick and efficient. No complaints! Overall: This was a gem traveling through Boston! All the foods tasted as good as they looked. Very fresh and warm. I would definitely come back the next time I stop by Boston again! I also want to add how fair their prices are! All three of us ordered a main course, drinks, and dessert. The total was just shy of $90 after tips! In my opinion, it wasn't too expensive for the quality.

Breakfast Sandwich on gluten free bread and House Breakfast Plate

Such a cute place and servers are VERY nice. I didn't dislike a single thing I ate here, and I came multiple times on my trip. Good selection of gluten free options for both breakfast and in the pastry case.

This is right along some good site in Boston, so it's convenient, but the prices are slightly higher than other locations. There are also very few outlets if you wanted to plug in. But the food options are great from meals to sweet treats to warm drinks. We did get the house platter and the oatmeal, which was a little watery but overall, both were good breakfast options. The almond croissant was the star. Despite the risks associated with powdered sugar, it was big, flaky, and filled with creamy, nutty goodness. The extra protein of almonds on top veer this into a possibly healthy pastry, so go for it. The booths are pretty close together so you might be elbow to elbow with the next diner, but the food is tasty and prepared quickly for a satisfying breakfast.

We were trying to see where we could have brunch for our last day in Boston and Tatte was such a good call. The lamb hash was so good. I really wasn't expecting much since Tatte felt like a "chain" but the hash so savory, perfectly seasoned. We also got the smoked salmon, avocado, and egg sandwich, which was super fresh and well-balanced. Nothing soggy, nothing overly salty. Just a really good, clean-tasting breakfast sandwich.

We came on Black Friday and while it was very busy the food is very good and service is quick! Food came out in about 5-10mins wait! A perfectly balanced breakfast meal! The cashier even showed us pics of menu items we were not sure what they were on her side of the screen! The employees shirts are cute too! It gets a little busy in the morning so if you want to dine in you might need to get here earlier but seats open fairly quick around here too! There are to go options too! Only negative was maybe the Jerusalem bagel in our breakfast plate was a little tough. Everything else was great!

Wonderful sweets and good service considering line down the street. Best carrot cake I've ever had.

It's a bit tight inside with not much seating and seems like more of a takeaway spot, which is exactly what I did. Staff are nice. The smell of the bacon inside is very enticing. I've been loyal to their Fancy breakfast sandwich which has fried eggs, bacon, cheddar, avocado, (pickled?) red onions, and mayo on toasted bread. While it is not life-changing, I still think it is a very solid breakfast sandwich that is well-balanced. I like the acidity of the red onions and the freshness of the avocado which balances out the oil and fat from the bacon and cheddar. But I would love to try their other popular items like a Mission breakfast burrito, the Crack sandwich, etc!

There's a small park with shaded benches about 2 blocks away (Elliot Norton Park) which is a great place to sit down and devour the food. I ordered the Mission Breakfast Burrito and it was delicious. As of August 2026, the website lists the burrito as $14, but the price on the in-person menu was $16. I would give the burrito 4 out of 5 stars because of the way it was wrapped - about a third of the burrito was just egg and cheese and the toppings (avocado, red onion, hash browns, salsa verde, crema) were crammed on the other side of the burrito. If there was a way for the burrito to be wrapped so all the ingredients were more evenly distributed - this would easily be a 5/5 breakfast burrito. One random detail that stuck out to me was that their drinks in their refrigerator were very cold - no lukewarm sodas here! I would come back here to try their signature "Fancy" sandwich. Overall, this is a very solid breakfast spot in Boston!

I got 99 problems, but brunch ain't one …read more.... I had just finished a long-awaited day in family court, and my best friend Robin came with me for support. Afterward, she treated me to brunch at North Street Grille, and honestly, it was exactly what I needed. When we arrived, there was a line and we were told the wait could be around 45 minutes. Don't let that scare you off. We put our name down, walked around the neighborhood, took some cute pictures of each other and passed the time until Robin received a text letting us know our table was coming up. I'd say we actually waited closer to 20-30 minutes max. As someone who deals with anxiety, I'll admit that when I first saw how busy it was, I was a little nervous about going inside. But once we got settled, that feeling went away. The atmosphere was welcoming, lively and easygoing. There was plenty of conversation and background noise, but funny enough, that was exactly the kind of noise I needed that day. I didn't feel like all eyes were on me. I could just sit down, decompress, enjoy my food and enjoy being with my best friend. And once you're inside, I can completely understand the wait. It's a smaller spot, people are eating, drinking, talking and genuinely enjoying themselves. It doesn't feel like somewhere you want to rush out of and with the food being as good as it was, I understand the line too. Now let's get to the food. That complimentary banana bread? Don't sleep on it. I really enjoyed it. We also had mimosas, which were good and definitely fit the occasion. I ordered the Steak Bomb Omelet with steak, peppers and cheese, along with home fries and toast. Robin had the salmon omelet, and of course I had to taste hers too--it was good! Our waiter was attentive and really nice throughout the meal, which made the experience even better. And speaking of Robin what are the chances I'm sitting there with my best friend Robin, open the menu and see a Robin Special? Shoutout to all the Robins! There were so many other things on the menu that caught my eye that I already know one visit isn't enough. And apparently the restaurant knew when it was time for me to go, because right on cue, I dropped my mimosa glass. I was immediately embarrassed, but shoutout to our waiter because he didn't make a big deal out of it or make me feel uncomfortable. And remember all that background noise I mentioned? For once, I was grateful for it because hardly anybody even noticed. Between coming straight from family court, having my best friend there, the food, the atmosphere and even my little mimosa-glass finale, this brunch ended up being exactly what I needed. Would I come back? Definitely. Next time I'm trying something completely different from the menu, with them delicious-ass banana bread bites.

I thought it was a bit odd that they were taking reservations but did it anyway in case it was crazy. I'm very glad I did because even with a reservation before 9am some people were waiting outside for a table! We got seated right away with our reservation which I was very happy to have made. The place is very cool inside with interesting decor to look at. One of the reason I picked this restaurant is that they have gluten free options. It was great to be able to have a regular breakfast like anyone else. I had pancakes with potatoes, eggs and sausage. The sausage was pretty nice. There is something for everyone here whether you have food allergies, are a picky eater, or down for an adventure to try something new. Everything is pretty customizable so you really can't go wrong. For those with food allergies, they have plenty of vegan and gluten free options. Some of my favorite staples are the avocado toast, the vegan scramble, the vegan breakfast burrito, or the vegan pancakes (they are gluten free too)! I like to try to make a reservation online in advance because it gets busy. You have to make the reservation on the day of so the availability can be limited depending on what might be going on but it is still worthwhile. You can also join the waitlist online if you can't make a reservation in advance which might help save a little time too. If you don't want to dine in, you can always order online for pick-up or delivery from their website as well. Staff has always been kind and helpful, especially when it comes to recommendations for what to try if you want to branch out or just get inspired. The Friendly Toast is a unique place to go. If you are inside, it feels like a diner and is pretty laidback. They have their own sense of style which adds to their character and charm. When the weather is nice, I like the outdoor seating they have.
