I don't feel like what I ordered was worth the price I paid. $13 for a specialty coffee and a sandwich. The coffee tasted so odd- more syrup than actual coffee. The sandwich was $7 for microwaved egg on an English muffin with "pepper jack cheese" and bacon. The cheese was not pepper jack (or definitely didn't taste like it) and the bacon was chewy. So disappointing because this place is right outside my office and would be so convenient. read more

on july third I walked into espresso love to get an afternoon coffee as I'm in line I overhear a young girl informing the staff that she ordered a matcha latte and they gave her a regular latte. This was a very average thing to say, anyone would expect they would fix their issue. NO this worker immediately said no you said latte. I was appalled, the girl continued kindly saying that her order was incorrect. This worker continued to tell her that she did not ask for a matcha. At this point this young girl is on the verge of tears. After seeing this I was so disappointed I could not support this establishment. this is a disappointing experience because the food is impeccable, but any place that does not train their employees on customer service will not gain my support and I think you should move your support elsewhere. One of the guys I work with got us food and coffee here, the egg sandwich was a microwaved egg that tasted sour and the bagel it was on tasted sour also. The coffee was very bitter. We all got the same thing and had the same experience. Not quite sure what the issue was but basically everything just tasted sour/stale/old and we decided to not eat more of it. read more

Gotta give props to a coffee shop only one store over from a Starbucks. We were tired of dealing with the 'Bucks' morning rush and this place looked like it had good breakfast options in addition to coffee. We were pleasantly surprised! There was plenty of space to enjoy our breakfast. The latte was very good. We both ordered the healthy wrap which was egg, spinach, tomatoe, and feta wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. The wrap was a bit of a let down. Basically they didnt add any flavor to the wrap. Just gave you the ingredients wrapped in a tortilla. The feta added good flavor but the way they wrap the tortilla, all the feta was at the bottom so you only got a few bites of pretty much solid feta. They really need to work on this menu item. We will probably be back because I am all about supporting small businesses and their other wraps and sandwiches sounded delicious! Next time! read more

My "roommate" really likes Espresso Love. It's close and it's convenient. They do a great job with their coffee. We've been here pretty much every morning this week. Double espresso is served up quick and it's a nice hit of coffee to get my morning going. Baked goods are fresh. I've had a chocolate chunk muffin one morning and a peach/walnut scone another morning. Both were quite tasty. There is a seating area upstairs where you can laptop with your coffee. I have been a customer of Espresso Café Boston for years and I have always really enjoyed them. They sell what I consider to be the best scones ever! However, over the last year or so the experience has really been disappointing. I post this in hopes that it is seen by owners and management so they can turn things around. The last few times I've been in there the overall customer experience and quality seems to be going in the wrong direction. Last time I was there, they burnt my food so badly that I couldn't eat it and asked for a refund. Last week when I went in the scones were overcooked and the one I was about to order had several small flies on it. The employees there are nice and the food quality is generally good but after my last few experiences, I don't see myself going back anytime soon. Why they don't individually wrap, these bakery products or least get a case to hold the food is beyond me. I hope for better days. I wanted to send these comments to their corporate office instead but couldn't find a contact on their website. read more

If you need a breakfast sandwich to get you and your family going in the morning, I recommend this place. We stayed at a hotel within walking distance and I placed an order online for 4 sandwiches (very reasonably priced!) I wanted to make sure my kids had some protein in their bellies to avoid complaints of "being hungry" two hours later. The food was ready for me upon my arrival and the order was correct. Kiddos really liked the egg/bacon/English muffin sandwich (no cheese). Didn't sample any beverages so can't comment on the coffee. read more

Very delicious underrated place. I really appreciated how their coffee was fresh, hot, not too weak/strong, and with no "burnt" taste. I ordered a healthy wrap and it was quite bulky with tons of spinach, cheese, and eggs. Usually healthier options and breakfast items in general tend to be small, so I loved how this was nutritious but also filling and very fresh! Huge shoutout to Tiesha who made the experience one that made me want to come back. She was extremely friendly taking my order. She let me know ahead of time that my coffee was hot and to be careful. And she brought me my food up to the second floor. It was awesome seeing her clean the tables so nicely and carefully too. It's obvious she really cares about her job and each customers. After experiencing some lackluster customer service at other places, she's definitely a breath of fresh air. There is lots of seating, plenty of food and drink items to choose from, and the prices are nice and affordable. Great job all around, Espresso Love! read more

Went here on a whim to grab a quick coffee/breakfast while my mom was in town because it was close to the wharf where we had to be at 10am. Nice location and very friendly/helpful staff. We had a hot coffee, an iced coffee (both great), a blueberry scone (so soft and delicious) and a bagel loaded up with veggies (incredible). My mom and I went to several other breakfast places throughout her stay and every time she said "Espresso Love is better." Oh and I grabbed a crème brûlée cookie to enjoy layer that day---so good! Came here every day that I was in office for my summer internship. The staff is so kind and the wait was never long. Challenged myself to try everything on the menu but got stuck on the chicken capri wrap and the caprese sandwich (the pesto on both is incredible) as favorites and kept coming back to them. If you're into salads both the balsamic and regular vinaigrette are worth the try. Some of the best pastries I've ever had especially the scones and muffins. The bagels were also super fresh and delicious and while I never tried one, I heard the breakfast sandwiches were amazing. This place has great variety and there's something for everyone! Fair prices and a good rewards program but the incredible service is what kept me coming back. LOVE them on the Vineyard and LOVE them in downtown! Perfect little café to grab their delicious muffins, croissants, bagels, breakfast sandwiches or baked goods in the morning... And when they opened this second spot, I about died. Thank goodness this location does not disappoint! Their muffins (namely: triberry, blueberry, raspberry, peach) are stunningly delicious - and some times right out of the oven! Spinach and feta croissants are yummy. Bagel sandwiches are great too! I came here to try out their breakfast sandwiches and was a little disappointed. The english muffin breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito were both mediocre in size relative to the premium price. I understand that these small independent coffee shops need to charge more but at least have a quality product. I still think that Thinking Cup or Nero has better food options and pricing. Also the breakfast burrito was smothered in cold salsa that made the eating experience very unpleasant. It would have been better to just put the salsa on the side for patrons to add if they want it or at least use room temp salsa (?) Coffee was tasty so perhaps skip a savory snack and go for a baked good instead. read more

I ordered The Joe. It came with a pickle, which was a big plus in my opinion. I love a place that gives you pickles. The sandwich itself was just ok. It's on focaccia (sp?) which I normally like, but this one seemed to be a bit on the dry side. There was a generous portion of roast beef. The cheese was havarti, which I really enjoy on a roast beef. The veggies (tomato, lettuce and onion) were all nice and fresh. It also says it comes with horseradish mayo and while I see a white spread, I don't taste any horseradish. I like that extra little bite of horseradish on my roast beef so I'm always excited when I see it on the menu. This was lacking. Overall, not a terrible sandwich, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way for another. I might suggest they try putting it on an onion roll instead. I did also get a White Chocolate Frozen Cappuccino. And even though I'm not a coffee drinker and didn't really taste any white chocolate, I drank the whole thing before I got halfway back to my office. I'd say that means it wasn't bad. I also wanted to try something sweet after reading so many comments about their pastries and such. On the way in, I saw Whoopie Pies mentioned on their sandwich board outside, so I decided to try one. Not too bad. Not the best I've ever had, but certainly not the worst either. If they were closer to my office, I might stop in and try their breakfast, but since my office is right outside South Station and Espresso Love isn't...I'm not sure I'll ever take the walk over there in the morning. read more

They didn't do a great job at spreading it, and most of the cream was just in the middle of the wrap. same with the Havarti. Quick cafe in financial district I ordered a bold coffee and a mike's breakfast sandwich on everything. The coffee was very good. The sandwich menu had a bit to be desired for options so I decided on the mike's which had avocado tomato and cream cheese. It was good but didn't compare to the New York bagels I am used to. I love this cafe. I come in always mid to late mornings on the weekdays. It's always quiet at that time with just a few customers around, so you don't have to worry about not finding a table. Watch out around lunch time though cause they get busy. There's a little sitting area up upstairs which is nice if you don't want to be in the way of traffic with people milling in and out of the cafe. People also don't mind if you stay for 2 or 3 hours sipping on coffee and enjoying the free wifi. I love that about this place, so I find it to be an ideal place to get work done in the morning hours. read more
