Very disappointed. Blah latte....minimum of $5 purchase. Ambiance 1 star. Baked items unpalatable was excited to try but will not be back

    Iced latte and Iced Mocha

Food- iced latte has more milk than coffee and iced mocha was missing the chocolate flavor as most it was at bottom of cup... needed mixing. Not bad but not great either. Service- fair Ambiance- tiny coffee shop where everyone knows each other.... locals frequent this place. It's across from Old North Church.

Cute little place that is a convenient place to order coffee and bagels. The service was fast and the baristas were very friendly. Would definitely stop in again.

Thankful to have found Caffe Lil Italy on the Monday of our week in Boston, tagging along for a conference. We enjoyed 3 breakfasts here (bringing along husband on Friday). We tried several versions of their breakfast sandwich and my oldest daughter tried the everything bagel with cream cheese. All were tasty! Cappuccino and mochas were also enjoyed some mornings. It does have limited seating, so plan accordingly ~ we ate in the upstairs space one morning. We saw lots of locals ordering carry out, always a good sign. Whenever we return to Boston ~ we will return to Caffe Lil Italy.

One of my favorite spots in the North End for coffee. Their iced cappuccinos are amazing, and never disappoint! The staff is super friendly as well.

My friend and I came here for breakfast and coffee. Cute little corner cafe. I wanted the strawberry smoothie but all they had left was peach so I decided to get the iced mocha. It was good, just no sugar so I added a packet of Splenda, and then it was perfect! My friend did get the peach smoothie which was yummy. For breakfast, I got the bacon and egg on an everything bagel which was good. It was about $11 for all of that, which to me seems over priced but it is the north end so expected.

Visiting Boston, came here for breakfast/brunch. Let me just say, this place is so cute! The food is delicious and the workers are friendly. Not much seating just a heads up. Loved this place so much that I will come back when visiting! Turkey BLT was so good and also their home fries! Hot chocolate and cinnamon muffin was also tasty. 5/5 stars :)

Disasterously slow. Getting cream cheese on my bagel sandwich became a federal case. Took FOREVER.

The strawberries and banana balanced it out so it didn't feel too heavy. Portion size was solid--borderline dessert-for-breakfast, but in a good way. Coffee was decent, nothing crazy. Place is small and gets packed, so expect a wait. Overall: great spot if you want something sweet and indulgent for brunch.

I stopped by in the early afternoon this past Monday with my top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality. This establishment is pretty close to a prior Airbnb we've stayed at and is in a neighborhood we've spent a solid amount of time in, so it's been off and on our radar for a few years. I'm pretty sure we attempted to stop by on an earlier trip but it was too busy - a tribute to the restaurant for sure. Two elements stood out to me almost immediately when we walked in, one good, one bad. On a positive note, the service was excellent - that came across in waves. This is a busy restaurant in a tourist area, and nine out of 10 times, the hospitality would suffer as a result. Not here; we were warmly received as soon as we walked in and were consistently attended to throughout our visit. Top notch in that regard. Con? Personal preference on my end, it just felt kind of grimy in there, like it had taken on the personality of its neighborhood, which is in my opinion not the best and has a homeless issue. There's definitely some personality in there - some gorgeous wood paneling and whatnot - but it was a little too chaotic/claustrophobic for me. I think there's a way they could upgrade the interior without compromising the uniqueness of Cafe Bonjour. I was at the part of our mini-vacation where I didn't necessarily have regrets over my food naughtiness, but my palate definitely needed some legitimate nourishment. I opted for the Signature Blueberry Bowl,, which predictably featured a great many blueberries, and was essentially an acai bowl interpretation with bananas and peanut butter (similar to the Acai Power Bowl at Playa Bowls). It was fine - good portion for what it was. I think they should have made it more...solid, if that makes sense. Like make the blended blueberry aspect quasi frozen so it had more substance to it. Without doing so, it just seemed too liquidy and harder to eat as a result. It was also a little bland and could have used an additional ingredient or two, and the hunks of peanut butter were difficult to blend into the bowl, so sometimes you'd end up inadvertently getting nothing but a mouthful of peanut butter. Not the best, but also probably not their biggest menu selling point. For what it's worth, my chum loved her dish (I think she got the Bennies) and enjoyed her time here immensely. This is one I'd like a do-over on and would be more than willing to come back with a better appetite and revisit - I don't know that my opinions on the vibe/atmosphere are going to change (though maybe some of that is dependent on the weather and this place really shines when the sun is out), but I probably didn't get the best that Cafe Bonjour has to offer.

The scrambled eggs were perfectly done, not runny or gooey like other places. The potatoes perfectly seasoned and slightly crunchy out and soft inside. I would have done the same with my eggs, potatoes and Turkey sausage but I couldn't eat another bite. I wish we had a North Street Grille here but perhaps it's better that I not have easy access to the quality of food otherwise I'd need a new bigger size wardrobe. If in Boston this is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE. If we had room and weren't leaving town the same night we'd have bought the banana bread. They provide complementary for each table and it's one of the bestest most beautifully made banana breads I've had. Service was fast and friendly. It's a cute and quaint little place packed to gills with people which is fine because everyone is friendly and the food is divine!!!!

The French toast was absolutely outstanding!! Easily one of the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, rich, and flavorful, it's a must-order and alone makes this place worth visiting. The huevos rancheros were decent, but not quite at the same level. They felt a bit less authentic than expected, and the hot sauce option was limited to Tabasco. I think a more traditional, homemade Mexican-style salsa would have elevated the dish significantly and made it shine. Because of that, I'm giving North Street Grille 4 stars. The French toast is phenomenal, and with a little more attention to authenticity on certain savory dishes, this spot could easily be a 5-star brunch destination. I'd definitely come back! Especially for the French toast.
