I liked this concept of hot pot, although I was confused at first but they refill your broth, assuming with a base broth that mixes well with all flavors. Even though it isn't all you can eat, the portion size makes up for that, you don't need all you can eat lol. It's nice getting your hot pot to go, I should ask at the other spots bc why waste the broth! Some countries drink bone broth for breakfast and I'm all about saving food, I don't mind leftovers. I wanted to try a Taiwanese hot pot and I got the spicy beef one! There was a lot of things I wasn't sure about but it's not that big of a deal and just took them out but I tried them first! You never know what you will like! I really loved the Napa cabbage!!! Oh and please y'all, get the black tea, I came during lunch and it was complimentary but if not please get that black tea! It's the best black tea I have had in a long time! They do need to do something about the flies! I had to take a greedy fly out bc he kept trying to get my food and actually landed on it! It was nearly empty when I went. I think this type of food is hard for this demographics. If you were in San diego or orange county or l.a it would always be busy. I dont like tasty pot in general. This place looks big on the outside but its kind of small in the inside. I love yin tang and ziangliang mala tang and places of the likes bc its 14$ a pound and you choose what you want inside. Today I ordered the stinky tofu soup, which was BTW very delicious. Its an excellent broth. I chose the flame spicy and there was no spice but that's sort of expected bc the demographics in temecula cant handle ANY spice, even tiniest bit. This soup was very rich and flavorful, but what I was disappointed in was there was 0 intestines. I only ordered this bowl bc it had intestines. I showed my server I had 0 as I was sifting through my soup. I asked him if he can get me a bowl of intestines a d if he can't, ill pay for the extra charge. This was the only reason why I ordered this dish! Its just sad it had none. This is why they get 3 stars. I like the cabbage substitute bc I dont eat noodles or rice. Even though we didn't order the hot pot, we still had a really good experience at Tasty Pot! The food was overall delicious and definitely worth the visit. Workers were friendly! Ambiance good for friends and family! The popcorn chicken was a standout -- super flavorful and crispy. The beef skewers were also really yummy and well-seasoned. Rice was solid and did the job. The torpedo shrimp and the pork & shrimp egg rolls were just okay -- not bad, but not the highlight of the meal. For drinks, the taro milk tea with boba was good and satisfying. Unfortunately, the flavors in the food were lacking. I had read that from others and even tried to add the available sauces. However, the sauces didn't do much and I was left wanting to find a way to enjoy the meal. Fortunately, the boba tea was good and I ordered a side of chicken skewers which tasted more fresh. Also, the setup is odd because you sit down and order using your phone yet at the end you walk up to pay. Not sure why we couldnt just pay using our phone since the location forces you to order using a phone. There is staff around that bring out the food and beverages, so there is some human interaction. The overall ambiance was a bit unsettling with their tables not being the cleanest, the sauce containers having what seemed to be some residue as well as some bugs on there, and it just didn't feel the greatest. The lobster balls tasted a bit rubbery, like imitation crabmeat. My sizzling beef was actually pretty good, but a little too salty for my liking. My husband was enjoying his soup at first, but halfway through eating it, he too, felt it was overly salty and could not finish it. I also ordered a peach green tea which I really liked. My son had a honeydew slush which I took a sip of and thought it was pretty good, but my son didn't care for it. Prices were reasonable, and service was good. We ordered the Peach black tea, sweet black tea, curry flavor hot soup with vermicelli. Tasty Pot Temecula is my first experience with the Tasty Pot franchise, and I would say it was a 3/5 for the food, bumped up to a 4/5 because customer service was fantastic. I wished there was more complexity to their broth base like Happy AYCE Hot Pot 开心火锅 or Dolar Shop in Bellevue, but their tomato broth was savory enough to provide satisfaction to the meal. A unique thing about Tasty Pot was that the soups already comes with vegetables, meats, and other toppings included and fully cooked. I think that's both a pro and a con, because I actually like the act of cooking my own toppings in the soup itself; but, the plus side is that you can eat right away! Reply to Management: The restaurant was COLD a few times I've been in when the weather was colder. I'm not over exaggerating. I can take the cold better than the vast majority of people here and don't wear jackets or sweaters when everyone else is wearing puffer jackets. That's me at work and in general all of the time here. I still can tolerate colder temps being from Chicago and have maintained the cold tolerance. It was COLD where I could tolerate on an as-needed basis, but it was extremely uncomfortable as a dining experience. I got the impression you were just saving money on your heating bill. The manager as I said, was almost shouting at me (not angry) with customers eating around him, and was frazzled and had a bewildered look on his face and in his posture, holding his hands out asking me what he should do to "not make me mad" - (maybe he's just gotten lots of complaints and felt overwhelmed), even though I wasn't angry and was speaking in a very calm tone and manner - I was seriously relaxed while he was frazzled. If you have cameras, you can take a look at the footage if you'll be honest with yourselves. He, as a manager had no idea how to handle it, and was asking for me to advise him when he should've known how to handle it professionally. I wasn't going to try to take advantage of his ignorance of how to handle it in the moment when he was asking me what he should do...and was hoping he'd figure out how to handle it properly. It was a screw-up on your part. The server told me he took everything down on the iPad, but the kitchen failed to follow through. You don't just give what you originally were supposed to at the end (dry noodles to take home) and not try to make up for the failure to follow through on a customer's simple requests that were approved with no hesitation. I would have handled it far more professionally if I were a manager, than that was handled. I would acknowledge and take ownership as a representative of the restaurant, and truly make it better, apologizing for our failure at proper service, and indicating your worth as a frequent customer...even if you were a first-time customer. These weren't one-off negative experiences. I've had a number of negative and even atrocious experiences here. No proper training, management, management of employees, a COLD restaurant, outrightly being repeatedly ignored, and outright disrespect. I've gotten the impression owners/ management do no care enough to provide anything close to an exceptional experience. I have only counted on a few select servers to provide such experiences. It comes down to how much the OWNERS care for a their customers and the level of integrity they hold, not a business just being about generating money. And it comes down to the extent of how involved owners are with their employees and their customers, and how much they illustrate they truly care for all of these people and the experiences they have at their establishment...not just defend themselves against any valid criticisms. I could've been a jerk and just given you 1 star, but I'm maintaining integrity and giving an honest assessment. I've enjoyed the food I've had...just not the failure to meet requests on it. These all and more are valid criticisms. The more successful you would be as a business if you only were to listen and absorb feedback and criticisms, implement changes, learn, and evolve...and not just justify your shortcomings and be defensive towards your patrons. It's not professional. As a business, you're providing a service to the public. If you fail at providing a high level of service to your patrons, you've failed at the core of the foundation of what your business is - customer service. It's far too rare of an experience to meet people of such levels of integrity around here. People do not generally care very much about others around here as I have found, and lack a level of integrity and mutual respect for one another. At least it's in line with the level of standards I've become familiar with around Temecula, the Inland Empire, & Southern California in general. You aren't out of place having your business here. Maybe you can change that and be one of the most exceptional ones though, and be an example to the rest of the businesses around here, and begin to create a much higher standard where far more pride could exist to make this place a far more desirable place to live. Just some suggestions on how you can look at it. At the core, we're all here to serve one another, and in saying these things, I'm serving you as a human being. It's up to you to take any of it or leave it all. Located in the back of a large retail plaza, the restaurant can accommodate around 60 people. Everything looks new, most likely it was opened recently. The ordering process can be done through QR code and it was quite easy. We ordered Taiwanese and Seafood. Both orders were ready in about 10 minutes and served in their individual pots and with underneath petite can heater to keep the pot hot. The seafood was full of items with lobster tail as the centerpiece. I first was kind of skeptical about the quality of the lobster tail since the price was quite reasonable. However, the lobster tail was quite tasty and firm meat. The broth was light and flavorful. The Taiwanese was also pretty good with variety of ingredients like fried tofu, meat, mushrooms, vegies and crabmeat. If you like hot pot you need to to try tasty pot. We ordered family style with a Thai pot, Spicy Taiwanese pot and a lamb pot. All three were very flavorful. What you can't see on the website is you can pick your spice level and as you eat they come by with more broth. There are also all sorts of add ons you can do. We probably ordered 10 add ons between the 3 pots, my husband loved the baby octopus. I took my girl here for her birthday lunch. We were seated right away, and there were about 4 parties when we arrived around 1:15 pm. I'm glad we missed the lunch rush because we needed to take care of business! I love how bright it is inside because of all of the windows. We ordered the Steamed & Fried Dumplings, Popcorn Chicken, #4 Curry Flavor Hot Soup and the #2 Lamb Hot Soup, both with no spice. Everything came out super fresh and hot. The bowls come to you sitting on a flame that you can control with a little lever on the side. We loved everything from start to finish and because the portions are big, we took doggy bags home. "Bubbles" and his staff are on it! They're attentive and helped us when we needed stuff like utensils, more water, etc. This place will be poppin' come fall weather, so anticipate the crowds. Thanks so much to the genius who decided to open the 1st hotpot place in Temecula! Of course it's going to be successful! We waited 1 hour at 6pm today and I'm so glad we did! We were hungry but, it was worth the wait ;) We waited patiently in our car while parking in the front of the restaurant so that helped the wait because we can hear the nice lady call our name and charge our phones at the same time... Still tasty. Love this place, keep up good work. The staff here are so kind idk how folks say bad things about the staff in these reviews. The only negative I have after coming so many times is spice level is pretty inconsistent and I order the same thing every time same spice level.
